what should i get next?

Hi all,
I have this bad habit of trying out latest gadgets.......
i never had a single phone for more than 2 months...i easily get bored
till now i had many phones.......
iphone...HTC (diamond, HD, HD2, G1, Magic, Nexus one)..plam pre, sony ericsson (satio, Xperia x10).. Palm pre....samsung (some stupid phone) .....Motorola milestone..nokia N97..some other small phones (all in just 1 year )
now i am bored with nexus and xperia and want to try something exciting...but all exciting phones like HTC evo 4g and droidx are only available in US and also CDMA...
samsung bada is not so exciting (No apps )
please suggest something exciting phone i can get in germany......

I think you have had just about everything to date.
Try that new watch phone that LG came out with. It looks pretty cool, reminds me of James Bond

Get the GSM version of the droid x. It's the milestone xt722 or something but it has a 8 mp camera with a xenon flash and a keyboard along with a front facing camera. I would've got it before my Nexus, but it's got Motoblur and it's Motorola....

How about the Samsung galaxy s? Too bad it's very familiar with the iphone design...

motorola is the worst company i would i ever go for...they are against openeness and they can't fulfill my rom flashing addiction....

My brother has the N900, it's a pretty cool phone and the OS is sleek. Havent really played a lot with it.

Idk about a dell streak... It's not really portable. It's meant to be a tablet with phone capabilities. You can tell by the way the capacitive buttons are turned 90 degrees so when it's on a table you see them correctly . But still... a 5 inch screen on a phone is just way to big.

Stick with HTC and XDA on what ever you get!

Dell streak is good but its on 1.6 ........
most of the other phones Alex530 has mentioned are not available in Germany and they are not GSM too....
@lufc ...i dont sell these on ebay as i have got many local friends who would like to buy phones from me as i am the mobile guru for them here and i still have most of the phones with me still
looking to try Bada os but it has no VOIP app yet which is the major part of my phone usage

i have my footprint there too
have 2 cars....2 bikes (one in that is Yamaha R15 ..the R-DNA bike)....recently got PS3 250GB, 42inch LCD TV..........and girls....my wife will kill me (typical Indian women style)

Why iPhone 4s sells to almost 2 million over the weekend?

How that happened? 2 million or 5 million? If that is true Android is way out of Apple's league.

It's a functional device out of the box. The general population doesn't have the time to root and customize their device and flash ROMs. They don't care about "making it their own". They just want a fast and functional device without any tweaking.
It's a walled garden...sure...but most people don't care.

It sells 2 million in a weekend for many reasons. First. and foremost it has a large fan population, hence a population who are dedicated to the iOS. Two. the delaying of announcement has increased the fan base's anxiety and desire for the iPhone hence sudden burst in demand.
And why do Android users hate iPhone users? From the same reason you think iOS is the best. The same mindless people in both groups. It is the most narrow minded and uninformative statement which shows your level of knowledge and understanding of software or comparing things at hand.
No software is the best, best is dependent on the situation at hand. Yes they may have an advantage over another in certain areas, but it ends there, still a stalemate. You think i should get a cashier or a barcode scanner system for a lemonade stand because it offers the best management system on stock? No im wastingmoney on something I'm only doing today, get the point? f not I'll elaborate even more with my post below. Btw english does not seem to be your first language so I apologize if you cannot understand it.
Oki so now lets put iOS in the hands of someone who knows his way around UIs. Think he's gonna enjoy the simplicity iOS over the functionality of Android? Why not ask the forum if you can't think of the answer.
Now do you think a beginner computer user would prefer android? Judging from your perspective you'd say no, and I completely agree with you. A beginner would not even think of pressing a arrow pointing up or a three row and column square as the app drawer. All from my experience with my friends.

jokes aside, iPhone doesn't sell strictly by brand. It is a device who's hardware (not internals but aesthetics) are unrivaled aside from a tiny screen. The build quality is superb and doesn't feel like it was haphazardly glued together like HTC devices or like Mattel built them like Samsung devices. The only hardware company that rivaled iphone's build quality is Nokia and they're onboard with WP7. Next, the OS is infinitely more fluid than android. On average an android device on the UI runs around 22-27 fps where iOS is a steady 60 as far back as the 3gs. It's optimized for it's superb hardware and it shows. Next, fragmentation isn't an issue. I can play infinity blade on a 3gs just as well as a 4gs and 2 years in the real world is like a century in the tech world. Overall it is a higher quality product for gaming, media, and basic phone functions. If you only get your phones to mod then android is for you but for quality, WP7 or iOS.

I think there are 2 reasons why Iphone 4s sell like hot cakes...
1) Many royal users had been waiting to upgrade their iphone 3GS/4.....that's why Apple miss their Q3 forecast ;-)
2) Steve Job sad news - created some impact also.....

who cares why they sold more. Who cares why they are considered best. Lets allow windows and and android to exist. I have my reasons for preferring android. but lets consider for a moment how many jobs These devices create. Lets also consider the choices the devices provide.
If the iphone and Ios are the best why doesnt every other maker give up. We really only need one phone right. Cases will make them look different and Apple can decide when we upgrade. Sounds like a great idea to me.

Are all iPhone users kind of uppity? My neighbors just upgraded and think their crap smells sweeter than most.

I honestly don't see the point of owning and android phone AND an android pad... same with having an iphone and ipad
if I had an iphone, I'd look at android pads
I was looking at the new ipad too... but I can't see myself using it for anything more than I use my phone or laptop for so I don't see the point

I was thinking about the newer ipad too, but I ended up buying a $1000 laptop instead. Lol

It makes a lot of since to have have both apple or both android. You can use your purchased apps on both devices from the same company. But you can't use your ios apps on your android and your android apps on ios. You would have to buy them all over again.

That display is really something to behold. Never seen anything like it before. Would I buy one? Nope. Would I buy an Android tablet? Nope. I have 0 use for both of them at this point.

Nothing wrong with that, looks like a decent machine. I am waiting out for a decent and decently priced quad core Android tablet. Sticking with one library of apps rather than investing in two. But some of the serious apps I wish to have on android might be awhile.

I have five of these selling on Ebay right now. They are going for 700 each. I tried for one hour and I was done with it and android has so much more to do than ios 5.1.

I unfortunately can't justify buying a tab. I want one. I bought my girlfriend the Nook Tablet and her roommate uses it more than she does. I think I'm gonna take it and put CM7 on it.

iOS 6

I, personally, was disappointed by Apple's iOS 6 release. I felt the os needed an entire revamp. From what I know about android everything apple did could have been done with app downloads. To me that should have been more of an incremental update rather than a whole new OS version. Do you all agree or disagree. Please let me know your thoughts.

I didn't watch any livestream but from all the Twitter feeds, it wasn't promising much. Maps is probably the only thing that is good, but it's stupid iPad 3 getting Siri but not the other updated devices..

Oh well i am staying on my jailbroken 5.0 ipod touch and using android.
Androids updates are nice cause they add a lot of new features where as apple mainly fixes old crap.
Android FTW obviously

- Maps w/ Flyover = Looks great
- Turn-By-Turn = At last?
- Updated Siri = Don't care, but i guess it's fun for the kids
- FB and Twitter integration = Don't care
- Passbook = Guess it's usefull for people in the US
Overall a couple of nice tweaks but nothing major. Apart from the FB/Twitter integration and other system tweaks, they could easily pushed this OTA.

Nah, I wouldn't be, but then again I can afford to go and buy a newer model. Some people save for months to buy these things. I doubt you'd get much for a first-gen iPad on eBay now, especially after that announcement.

Say some aunt you haven't met in a decade, gives you a iPhone 5 and you hate Apple with your guts and want to get a S4 soon, what would you do? Take the iPhone 5 (obviously), and sell it?

Although I love my Androids I will keep the iPhone and use it as a backup just in case the Android fails or better still give it to a family member who would probably appreciate it

I must confess, I own an AppleTV. It was a father's day gift from my Apple-loving father in law. I made him a Grandpa, so I couldn't refuse like I wanted. So I use it, and it looks good with a huge android sticker on top.

Yup. For parts. Start with kidney and get an ipad for that. Left testicle should be enough to fund ipod.
If it DID happen (can't see it happening, too bloody expensive) I'd give it to my wife, since she started liking them (she has S3 btw) and monitor to wherever she gets disappointed or not.

It's why God invented ebay.
The good thing about a shiney new iPhone is someone else will give you money for it.
