your link does not work, but anyways you probably installed something alongside with it (and that would be boot partition which isn't in raw format-magldr...). note that animation is just an zip file (not flashable but usual one) of pictures which you can push via ADB or install one of few bootanimation apps on market to do it for you.

Help! Stuck at HBOOT, need ideas/help!

Hi,
I bought a faulty Nexus one from ebay, thought I can fix it, as I did buy a faulty desire from ebay and was able to fix it. This time im not so lucky I guess.
So here it is:
The phone is stuck at X when booting normally.
I can access HBoot (But not Hboot USB Plug, because USB debugging is not enabled) and Fastboot USB. I unlocked Hboot. Fastboot in PC recognizes the phone but ADB does not as usb debugging is not enabled.
The phone is not Rooted
Here are my ideas so far:
Get somehow debugging on with some commands (No luck from reshearching in google)
Reflash stock rom with PASSIMG.ZIP in sdcard, but my phone does not recognize the file from my sdcard (I'm pretty certain im doing something wrong or my idea is somehow wrong)
Flash new images through FASTBOOT, but every time Signature check fails (Shipped-roms.com).
Root with superboot, but signature check failed here too.
Flash a recovery, signature check fails.
I will reguraly update my tries
Please suggest correction to my ideas or suggest new ones!
Help will be much appreciated!
I admit it, the phone might be briked, but I want to make sure that I have tried everything before I abandon this project.
And ofcourse I have no Warranty.
What file are you using for passimg.zip? Make sure it's not a zip inside a zip.
What images are you using via the fastboot flash command?
Sent from my Nexus One
You didn't unlock the bootloader, it seems - because if you did, it wouldn't be checking signatures, and you'd be able to flash anything.
First of thanks to both of you for helping.
I'm pretty sure that i do not have zip inside zip and I downloaded them from shipped roms.com -> android -> Passion-> PASSIMG_Google .... .ZIP, (Then renamed it ofcourse) Is there a difference what version of android i use?
The issue with this is, it checks the SD CARD and does not find anything. I have seen from google that the most common issue is that it starts to check the .zip file but then aborts. Does the SDCARD have to be a goldcard (I do have a goldcard but it might be faulty, right?)
I tried fastboot flash PASSIMG_Google.... .ZIP; Fastboot Flashall ( With having boot, recovery, system in my fastboot folder)
Maybe I should try to flash everything the .zip has in it seperately because that succeded for boot, system and recovery but I was too afraid to flash every partitation (Like Radio which seems to be the scariest and the most easiest way to brick phone)
For the third answer, I have ***UNLOCKED*** in bootloader in purple and top on the screen.
Once again thanks and keep suggesting!
Unpack the ZIP and flash each image separately.
Leave the radio as is, if it's updated enough (5.08 or 5.12). In any case, fastboot won't allow you to flash bad radio - and the risk of bricking the phone using fastboot is near 0.
For passimg.zip, you need to download the FRG33 shipped ROM from shipped-roms.com then EXTRACT the zip file that is inside the zip that you downloaded. Rename that file to passimg.zip
For fastboot, flash boot and system seperately.
When you boot the device normally, do you see the lock icon below the four colored x?
Sent from my Nexus One
Okay,
Did it one by one (PASSIMG_Passion_Google_WWE_2.16.1700.1_FRG33_release_signed.zip):
Succeeded:
Boot, Recovery, System and Userdata (that was only 3Kb)
Failed with signature check (Remote:Signature check failed):
Splash1, spcustom,
Did not do:
Radio
I'm going to post more details:
When booting up, it displays the X normally with the unlocking badge on the bottom of the screen and vibrates once. Then it goes black for a second or even less, the same images comes on and then it vibrates 6-7 times.
now that you successfully flashed the stock recovery, cam you boot into it?
Sent from my Nexus One
Nope, it does that what I described on the previous post
Oh and what's more it randomly during no activity being in fastboot vibrates as well for 5 times or so. It does this rarely but it's there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=710937
Thanks, Well thats it then for now, just have to figure out what to do now
Sounds like you need to get the PASSIMG.zip method to work, or unlock and flash a new recovery like amon ra, and flash a full rom with sig checks off.

Hello all! Yesterday I tried to get new rom on my HTC Incredible S. So I unlocked it on the htcdev.com and get a recovery... all works fine since I get new rom, when I installed it and reboot phone it stucks on HTC logo and nothing happens. I tried 3 different roms and the same thing happens... In original recovery it says S-On and maybe thats will be the cause of problem? So what I should do now? Please help me! dude you have to flash the roms boot.img seperatly. because you unlocked htc dev id assume you have adb drivers setup with fastboot.exe and all them files in a folder. for this im gunna pretend your files are in the c drive in a folder called android. before you start make sure you extract the boot.img from the roms zip file and put it in this android folder. open up command prompt and type the following.
cd c:\Android (Hit enter)
fastboot flash boot boot.img (hit enter)
wait for it to finish then reboot phone. rom should boot up fine
you must do this for every new rom until you s off

I'm no expert so can't help you much, but the first thing I would ask is, 'did you flash the boot.img from within the ROM .zip after you installed the ROM'?
I'm HTCDev Unlocked, with S-ON still, and two ROMs I've used recently are ARHD 3.0.0/3.0.1 & Project X. I don't know which ROMs you are trying...
Not all will be compatible, I tried THIS ROM first but it didn't work (and I got what you are describing). See the help I received down this page HERE and on the previous page of that thread, but it proved to be a no-go.
EDIT: Said the same thing as above, got beaten to it while editing my post!
same problem was there for me

You do not do this command from Recovery mode. You need to put the phone in FASTBOOT USB mode. So when you get to the HBOOT menu, choose FASTBOOT from the menu instead of RECOVERY. Then connect the phone to the USB port and type the following command:
fastboot devices
and your phone should respond with the device serial number. If it does, then you are good to go.
YEAH I DID IT!!! Sorry for it... Thanks for help and sorry for problems

Stuck on HTC boot screen

Hey,
I attempted installing Android Revolution on my HTC One - but it rebooted the phone for some strange reason during the install - i am now stuck on the HTC white boot screen - it was looping but i cleared the cache. I can still enter fastboot mode but don't know how to get the phone back to a state where i can actually get past the boot screen.
The phone is a 3 UK one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Zack.

To be honest i am pretty new at this. I can access the recovery menu and enable fastboot and also access Clockworkmod T. Unsure where i am going from here.
Currently as it stands the phone will not get past the white HTC loading screen.
Right, i have an original ROM dump (system.img, boot.img, recovery.img) - I presume this would be the best way forward? I issued the following:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img OK
fastboot flash boot boot.img OK
fastboot flash system system.img > load_file: could not allocate 1946156032 bytes, error: cannot load system.img, not enough space.
Can anyone help me? My phone is just stuck on the HTC boot screen

You should have read and studied the procedure to unlock the boot loader and flash a custom ROM a bit more carefully!
The step you are missing is that you will need to manually flash the ROM's boot.img in FASTBOOT USB mode.

I suggest to go back and read the procedure that you used to learn about unlocking via HTCDEV.com and flashing a custom recovery. That thread should have everything you need to know.
You can flash a ROM in your current state, but there is a documented step that you missed about flashing the boot.img file.

you can install custom roms on your device...after installing the ROM, do not let the device to boot to the boot animation or whatever you call it..
Instead, boot to the bootloader...enter the fastboot menu (fastboot usb if your phone is already connected to your computer)...open a command prompt/terminal and type fastboot devices. If your device is recognized, the output would be your device's serial number...
Copy the boot.img file from the ROM's .zip file to some folder. open a cmd window in that folder/ navigate to that folder in cmd (if already opened)
type fastboot flash boot boot.img
if the boot.img is successfully flashed, you can reboot your device and you should be able to boot properly.
If you are s-on and unlocked via htcdev method, follow the above steps every time you flash a new rom.
If you are s-off, the above method is not needed. You can flash roms and use them without any hassle...
Hope this helps...

No, there is no need to unzip the zip file in your PC...only the boot.img file is required.
First install the ROM from the custom recovery and then boot into the bootloader by pressing the vol down button while the phone restarts. Then, flash the boot.img and you should be able to boot...

There's no need to make multiple topics, my friend...
Remember that the TWRP IMG file must be in the same folder as your Fastboot files.
So, you can copy TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img file to the directory where your Fastboot is.
Or, you can type the directories correctly. For example, if your TWRP2.8.0.1 IMG file is located on your Desktop:
So, your command should be: fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\"username"\Desktop\TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img
Instead of typing, you can also drag-and-drop the TWRP2801-titan-motog-2014.img file into the CMD window.

Fastboot and recovery are two different things. If you can get to Fastboot (bootloader) mode you should be able to flash recovery from there as stated by rafaelbrunner.
Hi Guys !
I'm facing a problem on rooting my Moto G 2014.
I've easily unlocked the bootloader but i can't flash the TWRP recovery.
I've read everything I could read about the process and I think I'm doing it the right way (the recovery file in the adb folder, etc...) and everything seems to be ok.
I've just a purple line at the end of the TWRP flashing procedure saying:
Mismatched partition size (recovery)
This post says that it's not really a problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48294073&postcount=6
Then, when I reboot the recovery, the phone reboots and the system starts normally (instead of restarting with the custom recovery ?). When I switch it off and switch it on in recovery mode, I still have the stock recovery.
Tried several times with TWRP 2.8.0.1
I can't say if it's because of a problem with TWRP (it's said here that it is buggy) or because I'm doing something wrong that I don't succeed.
I saw that there was a 2.7.1.1 release of TWRP for Moto G 2014 but it's no more available anywhere for now. I would have liked to try it...
Do you know if there's some known issues about flashing the Moto G 2014 recovery or can you help in any way ?

You can use "adb reboot recovery" only if the phone is turned on in normal android os ( in bootloader mode it'll only recognize fastboot commands ), and you must be sure also to have debug usb option enabled under settings/developer settings.

Adb is one thing, fastboot is a different one.
If you give a "fastboot command" from the command prompt the phone must be in bootloader mode, instead if you give an "adb command" you must have the phone normally turned on.
Having said that, I didn't understand what's your problem... are you tryin' to boot into recovery mode or trying to flash twrp recovery?
It seems that you already flashed/installed a custom recovery ( TWRP ) from what you wrote, isn't it?

It seems that you already flashed/installed a custom recovery ( TWRP ) from what you wrote, isn't it?

That's the point, I'm trying to flash a custom recovery (TWRP) in order to be able to flash SU.
I'm sorry about my poor english. I'm french and I confess that I'm absolutely comfortable in english.
For now the only thing I succeeded to do is to unlock the bootloader.
What I understand is that I have now to install TWRP with adb, am I right ?

No, you're not
You already did the installation of the custom recovery since you said that you received this message "Mismatched partition size (recovery)", now from bootloader menu you should boot into recovery ( volume down to scroll thorugh the options and volume up to select ).
If it won't boot maybe you should check the md5 of the downloaded recovery .img, probably it's a corrupted download.

When I try to boot into recovery from the bootloader (what I already did before), the screen turns black, 1 sec later the led switch on for half a sec and nothing else happends.
So, as you say, the recovery I downloaded was maybe corrupted. I'll check.
Guys, I've found the solution !
I think everything was ok from the beginning. The only thing that I did not understand was that I have to press vol- in fastboot to focus on "recovery" and to press vol+ to launch the recovery.
I didn't read it anywhere, i just see this in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr14wNgazOw&hd=1 (see at 7"15).
Anyway, thank you for trying to help me and see you soon for all the good things coming for this phone !
