is there any way to check if my Omnia 7 is branded or not? on the box it said SFR France but nothing shows the phone is branded. No SFR bootscreen only 1 SFR ringtone and a SFR add account option for mail thats all.
Is there a tool to check this ?

Yes I know, thats why I want to Unbrand my phone, its developer unlock the official way because I'm a IT student ;-) I just need something to get Zune thinking the phone isn't from SFR anymore. I found something on the net: delete the value of a register key called MobileOperator, I did that but it does not seem to work. Zune keeps telling me My phone is up to date (7392) nor does the force trick work
Somebody any suggestions?
you could try flashing a nodo XX rom with retail france csc then update via zune

That is definitely some great news. I am hoping that they will be able to offer this service to both versions of the Wizard (100 and 200 series), since we're all lead to believe at this point that the only difference is cosmetic. If Cingular sells their 8125 (their yucky brand name for the Wizard) for $299 with a contract, that will be the best price for a Wizard I have ever seen. Couple that with a $40 (average) unlock fee from IMEI-check, and you've got yourself a winner!

Help me out here... I have a Dutch T-Mobile Vario running Pocket PC 2005 in DUTCH. I want to install either:-
English ROM (from T-Mobile UK - I guess)
or
English K-JAM Rom - I think that this will do a better job - not so modified (This is my gut feeling).
Do I need to unlock the phone (with this app for example) before I change the ROM?
Which ROM should I go for?
Any advice greatfuly rec'd.

what if someone were to unlock thier phone, and then upload that rom image? would a phone flashed with that rom be unlocked?

@Belgilux - yes, thats exactly how you have to do it! unlock the device via imei-check.co.uk, that erases your country id and then you can install e.g. the imate k-jam rom on it without any trouble. i just did that and now my english k-jam runs with german os...

Wow! That means I can have a taiwanese dopod 838, run the unlock to erase the country id and then flash it to english? Could you take some photos to show us?
Wait a sec. If I were to flash it to the qtek or kjam rom, wouldn't it be irreversible? As in, is there anyone with the original vario rom?
If not, is there anyway I can get it from my vario?
Does anyone have a chinese version of the rom to play with?

Not sure and I have just asked the same question on a new thread on the board. Be interesting to find out as I have just got my T-Mobile vario unlocked using http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3000unlock.php and it worked great, now using my Orange SIM card on the phone in the UK.
I have been using the vodafone 750v for a while the Version number is:
TREO750-1.16-VFE
1.12.0c.00
Two problems always happened:
1) The phone suddenly lost all the sound and the mp3 ringtone is terrible.
2) when you pick up the phone, there will be a delay of 3 second because you can hear or speak to the other side.
The first problem can be solve after a reboot but the second problem stay there.
I went to vodafone lately and check the firmware version number of the demo phone which say 1.22.xx.xx( I believe is 1.22.30.00 if I remember correctly)
I ask the service dept of vodafone and they told me that the one they are selling now is no longer 750v ...is 750. Then I ask them if they can provide the upgrade firmware for user to upgrade and they told me that I have to ask palm.
Anybody here is using the Treo 750 with the firmware version 1.22.xx.xx. Can you share the ROM here so we can try if the new ROM could fix the problem?

I don't find any info regarding an update on the Vodaphone site .........
Odd, as there was an update on vodafone.nl a month or two back...
I assumed it would have been posted on the other vodafone sites as well.

Try that one already, it change the firmware from 1.12.0a.00 to 1.12.0c.00
This one doesn't do anything good to the phone.
And this update is English only, no use for those who have their Treos in
an other language.

Try the new WM6 for the unbranded ones, I have one if u need. The treo loses voice notifications because of the usage of driver by too many applications. You can install a patch for the At&T versions.
Tell me if you need that.

why shouldn't all your question not be possible?
it's only a branded rom not a different OS.
TomTom6 works fine on my german p1615 and allother wm6 software should do too.
also you can put on another rom, i did not, cause there is no newer german rom, and i preferred to use my phone in my native language, but perhaps an italian roms is released ?! try to search the board here

I've already read tons of posts but I can't get the differences between the sim lock and the country lock, I mean, does vodafone uses a simlock on this device?

no vodafon do not uses simlock, i got my p1615 from a contract of a friends company and put in my call-ya sim. it works without any problems.
perhaps there is a netlock, but i don't think so, cause vodafon is very open instead of t-mobile (putting sim and netlock)

Try looking in another forum the Vodaphone OEM-ID to use in fiddler. Something like VOD-UK.

My Vodafone app is not phone-dependent. I can download it on my unbranded Ativ S, provided I put a Vodafone SIM into it.
