[Q] How to fix Bluetooth on CM7? - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there, so i recently just flashed CM7 (cm_captivatemtd_full-133.zip). I used the method shown in the MobileTechVideos, using ODIN as well as the Speedstock kernal for the PDA. Everything worked out great! Backed up my apps via Titanium and got google apps through clockwork. Im loving CM7, but the problem is Bluetooth refuse to turn on! Every time i try and enable Bluetooth nothing happens. The icon gets greyed out and then reappears but nothing changes. Anyone know a fix to this?! Thanks!
I've tried fixing the permissions through Rom manager and rebooted a number of times. Nothing works. Also whenever i reboot the email app just FC on me :/
Edit: The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectly shows up everytime i reboot as well!

Try to flash it again or try a previous nightly.

Alright, i'll give that a whirl and keep you posted! Thanks!

Did this work?
I've had the same problem, re-flashed numerous times to try and clear it (wiped my cache, dalvik, etc) but still it always happens, and then the FCs for com.android.phone keep coming intermittently.
So since my last flash, I haven't touched bluetooth, and guess what? No FC's at all.
Anybody have another idea?
I'm on 7.1.0 from 10-10-2011.

[Q] All apps are crashing

Hello,
I have problems with my i9000. I am using MIUI 1.11.11.
The thing is that since yesterday I have serious issues with my phone. It happened before upgrading to new version of MIUI.
All apps started to crash, there is no exception. Starting from Google Services Framework untill standard bluetooth app. Every single one. I can't even check any e-mails, messages, I can't even make a call because calling app crashes too. I can't receive any calls at all. I rebooted phone, cleared caches, upgraded phone to MIUI 1.11.11 and nothing. I can't use my phone anymore.
When I pressed "Report problem" I saw for a second log with problem it said something about "data I/O error".
I think the issue is somehow connected to sdcard since I had problems with it before. It was always hard to connect my phone by usb cable. Actually... it was always hard to DISCONNECT my phone. I had to wait looong minutes (about 20 or so) till it finished disconnecting.
If you guys could help me, I'd be glad.
Thanks in advance,
v.

ICS Wifi Issue

I have searched for the past thirty minutes and have not found a solution so i decided to post in the place where every person seems to know the answer to every question. Anyways, my tp succesfully got set up in ICS and WIFI turned on at first for me to do my original setup, but after rebooting to flash the charger fix and new kernel, my wifi will not connect. I tried a fresh install to make sure the kernel was not the issue, to no avail. When i try and slide the wifi on/off switch to on it just slides back and clicking on the button does nothing. I also tried to add the power widget to the main screen and hit the Wifi button from there, but that was also borked. Any help would be appreciated.
Try setting your router to a specific channel I put mine on 9 and it works now. I was having wifi issues after reboot but after setting the Chanel on my router they went away
If I forget my network, then reboot, then reconnect it seems to work fine. I tried a few other "fixes" I have read about and nothing else seems to work for me at this point...
The problem is not my network, its the fact that i cannot hit the "on" button for wifi

The OP did make the problem clear!
Looks like a reinstall may be needed.
try fixing permissions from CWM.
If that doesn't work, I suggest to have a look at the logcat entries while trying to switch on and off the Wifi, you may see the reason for the error there.
What version of CM9 is intalled? did you install any special kernel? What channel is your wifi on? (I changed mine from 11 to 1 and it's stayed connected for days now!)
Try a full cache and dalvik cache wipe in ClockworkMod. If that fails, then do a full wipe, re-install and try again from scratch.
This happened to me when I updated to Alpha 0.5. I had to go back and reflash the bricked kernel which i previously installed. I think he made a change to the wifi settings and if I remember correctly he told you how to go back to stock cm9 if you wanted to. But if you installed bricked before that's your problem, reflash it in CWM
bricked kernel uses a different WIFI module, so you need to have both in sync (kernel and driver).
If it worked on first boot, I presume he didn't change the kernel, so something else must be causing his WIFI to fail (fail to start, not fail to connect)
As we mention before, I will go for permissions, cache and get a logcat for the error
Permissions did not work so I wiped and started fresh for the third time....well I guess third time is a charm because I am posting from the TP right now thanks guys.

Every app stops when I run it?

When I tun something, about 20 seconds in, it shows me the process ......... has stopped working. Everything was working fine
Also, when I boot up my phone, it doesn't go past the ICS boot logo. I have to turn the phone off and then turn it on again. When it finally boots up, I get loads of messages like 'Hotmail has stopped working' and Android keyboard has stopped working. This is REALLY annoying! Bit from what I've seen, after I run the app, it crashes, and then it works normally again. Can someone PLEASE help? I updated to ICS333 2.0.1 yesterday from 2.0. I'm running semaphore and sometimes devil. I switched to semaphore because I flashed the ROM again. Nothing changed. Please help!
I think it is ROM problem you may go back to 2.0 or change it to another ICS
Try reflashing the rom and keep it stock, make sure you clear cache and dalvik. You also want to fix permissions.
Otherwise try slimrom.
If you don't want to do all this, just try fixing permissions through cwm.

Go into recovery and hit wipe data. Then reboot, everything should work and you can reinstall your apps.

HELP: com.android.systemui in FC loop

I have ViperOne 4.2 rom installed with latest fw, radio and Elemental X kernel 10.10.1. I have this setup now for about 2 weeks or so and have not changed anything on my phone drastically or have installed any new software etc.
Today all of a sudden my phone rebooted and once it did i am greeted with the message that Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped. When i click ok the UI seems to reboot itself quickly but then i get the same error message again and again after repeating these steps.
I have restarted my phone several times, even booted into safe mode only yet the same error keeps comming up again and again.
Can anybody advise what the problem could be or what to do to make it stop?
Worst case scenario i can restore from a Nandroid backup but i would prefer not atm as i'd rather know what is causing this problem.
Any help would be appriciated!
Great. I tried to delete the cache in recovery just as a try. When i rebooted i was greeted by stockish type of welcome screen with setup your phone info. So i went back to recovery to try restore the nandroid backup which is on my phone. After some time TWRP sais "Restore failed".... never had that before either.... wonderfull...
So this day just keeps getting weirder and weirder. While trying to somehow restore my nandroid (which still does not work btw) when i go to power off my phone via TWRP it sais no SU is installed and it seems i do not have root permissions.
Which is very odd because i am S-OFF, SuperCID for quite some time now....
What the hell is going on today? Meh...
I had the FC in com.android.systemui too, but so far i did`t have the issue with restoring. Would be also thankful for further advise...
Anybody an Idea?

if you're using a custom rom try a 'dirty' flash (flash without wiping). That fixes most of these types of FCs without losing any data.
I am using the Viper 4.3 ROM, was choosing to NOT install some of the Apps that would be included on a regular install - maybe this causes the FC. I try without removing these applications. Thanks for your advise! :good:

Wifi button is Disappeared in nexus 6

Well, this is the second time that happens to me. I installed CM13 nightly release, then the Gapps... Everything works well. i just rebooting the device, when device is on then, WiFi does not respond. The button is always off, and when you try to turn it on, it still remains off. I tried reseting the network setting, rebooting, wiping cache, dalvik... The only thing that works, is wiping system and reinstalling CM13 again. I've done it two times, but the problem is still there. Please help.
Thanks!!
help? stop using CM. CM will ALWAYS come with bugs.
