Bluetooth headset tested
Bluetooth headset is working anyway, no wifi tethering.

basic bugs need to be fixed
first of all motion senser are not working correctly they need some immediate update. and camera is also not working.
android system is taking way too much battery and launcher need some fix too, it is lagging too much so launcher need some work to be done. there is also the wifi bug too, if phone goes on sleep when wifi is on it never wakes up until u take out battery.

Something tells me this is a kernel problem common to miui as well.

If i knew Android like i know linux I could figure it out. I know since it locks up the screen the only hope to debug is to rely on logs or to telnet or adb in during the lockup to find out the offending process. I am still learning android but I don't know jack about java or xml. One more hint it doesn't lock up when usb is connected either.

ok running adb connected to wireless, here is the logcat for the last few seconds prior to lockup. I will note that the phone is still connected to tcpip but no commands work. it is a true lockup. Calling the phone it goes directly to voice mail. and adb shell dmesg returns nothing. I hope this will help debug this.

Can only install certain ROMS

I recently received my phone back from HTC that was repaired by replacing the main board on the G1 and I can't install the new hero ROMS or earlier ROMS like JF ROMS. The only ROMS that I can install are Haykuro builds. Except the Ion r2 ROM. The one currently on my phone is 6.0r1.
When I wipe and install any of the hero roms I get bootloops or it'll sit at the G1 screen. I've also re-formatted my partition, used a different sdcard and I still can't get the hero on my phone. Any advice on what the issue can be or things I can try to get it to work? Thanks in advance.
I'm assuming that your sig is out of date. Did you re-download new spl? Hero roms will require that, other then that... not sure...
One more thing.. do you wipe before or after the flash? some roms are acting funny if you wipe after the flash.
All fails... start from the scratch (rc29, root, new radio, spl, recovery rom)
Good luck... I wish I could be more help but this is not easily reproducible.

Yea sig is where I left off before i had to send my phone in for repair. I do have the new everything. I've rc29'd, root and everything like 4x time. I do wipe before flashing new roms.
Yea it's not easily reproducible I figured maybe someone may have had an issue. Do you know how to do a log of what's going on with the phone?

Code:
ERROR/flash_image(153): error opening /data/recovery.img: No such file or directory
Something may not be right with your recovery???? I would re-flash CM's latest recovery image just in case.
Also
Code:
Build fingerprint: 'tmobile/kila/dream/trout:1.5/CRB43/148830:user/ota-rel-keys,release-keys'
Did you at some point flashed un-rooted build? Release keys would indicate stock rom I believe and that would mean you don't have a root....but again... I am not a pro at this. Perhaps, you could pm one of the rom devs (CM, H, Drizzy, Jac) and they could be of better assistance.
Good luck.. I'm sure that will get resolved one way or another.

WiFi connection problems

Hey guys,
i'm having really bad wifi issues on various roms (KoR 1.1 + MiuiMod) and kernels (WM, Pershoot, Intersect) right now.
What happens is, i switch on wifi and it scans and finds the registered router, but when i try to connect it somehow stays stuck scanning or it says getting ip and then switches itself off again.
i pulled a log from OSMonitor and quite a lot of stuff seems to be going bad

First and easiest thing to try is to do a factory wipe right now to go back to your current base ROM. Don't install any apps. Does the problem happen? If not, next test..
Flash a STABLE ROM and DON'T install any other apps, does it happen? If no reboots, install your apps (manually from the market). Is it still okay? Next test..
Flash the ROM you were having trouble with again, with no apps, does it happen? Install your apps (manually from the market), does it happen?
You can't start guessing unless you narrow the problem. It's simple to do. Of course each time you flash a ROM, wipe data etc.. Start fresh.
When it reboots, open Command prompt in Windows and write: adb bugreport.
Look for the line containing "ARM9". Something like "ARM9 has crashed".
If you find it - return the phone, it's bad.
tried everything its a hardware issue .. how can i repair it?? help
What's up everyone
My GN1 started having the problem way before I got Gingerbread. My phone is all stock, never rooted.
I tried isolating the problem to an app or an specific thing I did to cause it to reboot.
Then I was able to confirm that the problem happens w/ the phone is charging either wall charger or USB cable . When the phone charges and I use a lot of data (browsing, youtube, IM, FB, etc.) mostly during heavy data connection use the phone will restart. None of this happens when the phone is unplugged.
Also I thought that it could've been an overheating problem but the phone runs cool, a bit warmer when charging but nothing abnormal.
Give this a try and might be the problem that you are having.
I'm having the same problem since some days!!!
And I really don't know what to do, cause I've tried ALL sort of procedure! :'-(
I have an unlocked bootloader so it'll be a problem for the Repair Service? I'm ita.
Thanks!

rebooting randomly
Hi, i have the same issues here with my nexus one... i had in the past, unlocked, rooted and installed CM6, wasnt having any issues at all... but since i installed CM7, troubles started...
this week, i've done some work on that little phone... re-installed stock image, updated to 2.3.4 from OTA, done nothing else, except installing su for terminal purposes... and then, i tried to replicate troubles, which i did easily...
at first, i thought it was heat... not the case, then i remarked that it kept crashing randomly on 3g network connections, since i never have issues watching youtube on my wifi at home, but when im in the bus going to work, it crashed on youtube... so i tried other network datacomm on the 3g, and i can easily make it crash. i can never make it crash on the wifi tho...
so i started adb shell, did su, then logcat command, which gives me output in realtime of whats happening...
this output shows when i started youtube... the video started to play in portrait, so i swithc my creen landscape to get it full screen and BAM! crash, here is the output

Pushing for MIUI

Hi all
Tonight (1 Dec) I have time. Lets see how far we can get with MIUI (with whoever is keen).
Check here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371428
What my approach this time is is to "dependency inject" MIUI into CM7. That is, start with CM7 base and then add the jars + apks + libs of MIUI from LG's Optimus2X one for one. This is different than starting with MIUI and then changing it with CM files one for one.
Right
Attached is the file list of CM7 nightly and MIUI 1.11.25.
Differences of note:
lgdrmserver
libbridge
liblgdrm
/system/media/gadget files
I'll keep updating on progress! Please do hop on the development, I'm doing all the "beta" testing on my side (thus press thank you and don't post I'll help you test).
Does one need to compile from source <github> or can we just grab files from LG's Optimus2X zip'd MIUI and overwrite the CM7 files? I will also spend some time on this see if I can make some leeway!
Thank you for your help and hard work!!
What does all this mean ?
If I can help with anything? please let me know!! Thanks so much for your efforts!

Means it might be over your head and should wait till a stable comes out.

Yes, binary files - no compiling. That is, however, what I'm up to.
First up, /system/bin/app_process : zygote, main system daemon.
/system/bin/app_process : No difference in startup.
Next up: framework.jar : The whole platform (will break a lot of things, I'm sure - we'll see)
Ladies and gents, our first boot loop:

Seems like a .so that is missing or a .so that needs replacing.
/system/lib/libutils.so is a match - checking.
Solved previous error, now getting this:

Getting strace output:

Not entirely helpful. Sockets for system services are normally "premade" in Android in the init.rc file. Will look around, otherwise will check for MIUI version.
service zygote /system/xbin/strace -f -tt -o /cache/debug/boot.strace /system/bin/app_process -Xzygote /system/bin --zygote --start-system-server
Will make strace put out debug of zygote.
Yay for more debug...
No help, make strace of just netd be put out. Argh.

Before netd fs off into oblivion.
Right, replacing netd then. Not keen - this is suppose to work out of the box.
Did not help. What I can gather:
It loads its libraries fine, and then starts to listen for a connection. Then, a system call syscall_983045 goes unfinished.
Prompting the crash in netd.
Library dependencies for netd seems (so far from strace):
c,sysutils,log,stdc++,m,cutils,netutils,crypto,z,hardware_legacy,utils,binder,wpa_client,bluedroid
Guessing who is the culprit:
Not c (C lib),stdc++ (standard c++ lib),wpa_client(WiFi),bluedroid (BT),hardware_legacy (lights),log (log),m (math), z (compression),crypto (crypto)
Either cutils, sysutils, netutils, binder

Replacing liblog and libcutils with MIUI versions. Lets have a look what breaks next
liblog added the following error:
1973 20:13:37.926040 open("/dev/log/libra", O_WRONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
Still no change in netd.
Trying libc, see if netd will budge
Googled for syscall_983045
Apparently used to spawn a service. Part of binder.
Replacing binder as well. Crikey
Well if things break due to syscalls not going through, then we've hit a snag on kernel levels.
Anyone got privy on where they hide the MIUI Optimus 2X kernel source?

Nexus 5 (hammerhead) - Tethering broken?

Hi,
Since about 4.4.3 (possibly 4.4.2?) wifi-tethering broke.
logcat says:
Code:
D/AFWall ( 3615): OS reported AP state change: 11 -> 12
D/AFWall ( 3615): isWifiApEnabled is false
E/SoftapController( 1320): Cannot update "/data/misc/wifi/hostapd.conf": Permission denied
E/WifiStateMachine( 1837): Exception in softap start java.lang.IllegalStateException: command '79 softap set wlan0 AndroidAP broadcast 6 wpa2-psk [scrubbed]' failed with '400 79 SoftAP command has failed'
E/SoftapController( 1320): SoftAP is not running
D/SoftapController( 1320): Softap fwReload - Ok
D/SoftapController( 1320): Softap fwReload - Ok
D/dalvikvm( 3615): GC_CONCURRENT freed 390K, 11% free 12321K/13772K, paused 4ms+1ms, total 18ms
I/AFWall ( 3615): Now assuming 3G connection (non-tethered)
E/SoftapController( 1320): Cannot update "/data/misc/wifi/hostapd.conf": Permission denied
E/WifiStateMachine( 1837): Exception in softap re-start java.lang.IllegalStateException: command '83 softap set wlan0 AndroidAP broadcast 6 wpa2-psk [scrubbed]' failed with '400 83 SoftAP command has failed'
D/AFWall ( 3615): OS reported AP state change: 12 -> 14
D/AFWall ( 3615): isWifiApEnabled is false
This bug is reported on code.google.com but the only suggested solution is deleting /data/misc/wifi and reboot which didn't work for me.
I even chmoded 777 /data/misc/wifi and hostapd.conf but without any success.
I'm running a very recent nightly (a few days old).
Any thoughts?
Thank you.
