[Q] 3D sweep Panorama for Xperia Neo and not NEo V - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all , I am saran from India ,
I joined this forum long back and have been studying things about android there , but this is my first post , Its a real honour to be a part of XDA ,
I would like to thank every genius who knows about android for sharing their knowledge here so that guys like me get to know something atleast , much delighted really ,
Now to my question ,
I have a HTC Wildfire , its my first android phone . But today I bought a new Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo . I bought it through a SE outlet in southern part of India . In EBay india they bring up a deal every day at 11 A.M . Today's deal was a SE Neo V for like 16000 INR, He called me and said they had the offer put in E-Bay and I was like WTF coz I bought this fone for 17500 INR ,
Wen I went through the description of the fone it had only 5 MP Camera but mine is 8 MP . Then I got a sign of relief . But again there was some feature like 3d Sweep panorama , but that is missing in my phone . I tried to find out wer it is like for the past 6 hours , but still no Luck ,
So out of hope I make this post here , Can anyone help me find it or my fone doesnt have it at all is it
Thanks ,
Saran
P.S. I don't know wer to post , If the mods or any admin panel gonna remove the post , please notify me through mail before doing it and please advice me wer to address my query .

I'd suggest asking your question in this forum, as it's specific to the Sony Xperia Neo device you're talking about. You'll be more likely to get a response that will help you there.

i asked coz i am doomed ... i am planning to buy a new phone after i sold my hd7( not even a single android is out ther for it)...
planed to buy lg 2X.. changed plan coz it have very slow updates...
planed to buy nexus(old nexus 1).. changed plan due to bit old hardware features...(perhaps i am not satisfied)
planed to buy galaxy Y.. changed plan due to few custom roms( worth buying it coz of low cost yet nice hardware cofig)
now planed to buy desire hd...( no reason, hoping for ics rom would come out soon)
but the first one with ics custom rom is hd2... but why hd2 always get the good stuff!!!!!!
( hd2 owners pls forgive me, i am lost in the flow cox i cant get hd2 here.. all shopz have hd7 and newer ones in htc's family.. but no hd2).

Thread moved to off topic. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.
Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.
Because the HD2 is so open that it is so easy to port a whole OS to it. I regret breaking my HD2, and this phone donesn't want to break so i can buy an HD2 lol

Hey,
Why are you looking for new HD2? go to ebay india and find a used one with excellent condition.
Like inv3stment said, don't get upset. One day everything should get old and in india every electronics comes in when they are older.
I have made a nice quota:
Chinese are baller's
Westerns are batman's
Indians are fielder's
Chinese throw the ball, Westerns hit it and Indians catch it (more times it misses as well).
Thanks...
Best Regards

Should I get the X8?

Well should I buy it,is it worth?
My biggest concern is that SE doesn't updates android or flash or something important for the OS.
And yes I'm a noob, never used an android.
So..tell me..does the community makes some updates?
I know there are roms, for changing looks..and is that all, does it just changes the looks or it updates the software and makes it better?
Well thank you in advance dear gentleman.
Well, I'm no going to type out a whole list but the final answer from me in my opinion is:
YES!
Leave a thanks if I helped!
Well mate...your a senior member. And I believe you, still does the community have the knowledge to make this phone awesome always.
I mean in 2 years..I don't have the funds to buy a new phone every little time?
But also, thank you!

Yes, the community has the power!
We have many great developers here on the X8 forums! Including doixanh!
He has amazing roms!
I do recommend you root your phone because most things on here nowadays need root or to have a ROM installed
Shane,
Thanks

The X8 has many advantages
- Awsome community that develops for it.
-Its a nice phone
I can list lots of more stuff
I am very happy with my X8

The x8 is a very good phone and the dev's here work very hard to keep our x8 Up to date in looks and software I have 2.3.7 with ice cream sandwich looks. And besides that my wife spent £300 on Samsung galaxy ace but my x8 gets higher score in quadrant. So yes get a x8 root it then flash a custom rom. You will be happy

Don't make that mistake !!
Am begging you ..
There are plenty of great phones out there
x8 has lost SE's concern !
THEY FORGOT IT !!
if you're gonna buy a phone
i suggest you buy the Xperia mini ..
not the x10 mini ..
the XPERIA MINI ..
a Great little phone for a great PRICE..
..
For me now ..
i have the iphone4
And that phone has blown my mind ..
so if i were you ..
x8 .. is never a choice ..
..
Thants only my opinion though ..
and BTW
The xperia mini is getting the ICS from SE
the x8 .. is not
Duh ..
what a Failure
Make.forget ..
well if u can afford i suggest u go for some other brands, but since ur new to android i guess u shud giv it a try,cos xda has great developers, and u can choose which one u prefer
I think you should really consider the newer models like Xperia Mini mentioned above.
NO! In capitals!
go for mini it should be better ... but x8 has a better community tho
Well I will wait a couple of days..maybe my network will also have the xperia mini in the offer, they said new models will arrive in this week!
They dont have it now...
We have great development that devolop for us but now the era of ics us coming...well our phone is obsolete. Even some dev's have left us cuz the x8 is old. In other words yes for community and no cuz its now a peice of crap stuck to se's shoes
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Don't buy it.. It was good for the price when it was out but now it's old and slow.
Add a little more money to your budget and buy a phone that was released in 2011 (this is important if you want version updates from the manufacturer)..
For 130€ you can buy a gingerbread 1ghz + 512MB ram phone.. Upgradable to ICS.. That's only 30€ more from what i've paid for the x8..

Don't choose SE if you want your first android experience to be a good one.

It was changed by a dev in build.prop
Guys, remember that SE chose not to update old phones just like many other companies, which lead to a OS fragmentation. That's why google made an alliance with many manufacturers (including SE) that makes them update their phones at least 3 times with a major distro. This only applies to phones released after the alliance (2011). I'm not saying that SE is a good company, but if you buy a new phone from them today, it will get updated..
The phone i was referring to in my previous post was actually a SE one, not xperia but walkman.. SE Live with Walkman, which is being sold for 130€ in my country.
Same as the X8 but with:
1Ghz Scorpion CPU (which is ARMv7)
Adreno 205 GPU (Hardware-accelerated SVG and Adobe Flash)
512MB RAM
5 MP camera WITH autofocus and flash (records 720p video)
Stereo xLoud speakers (yes, speakers.. but also includes earphones of course)
Native wifi N
With gingerbread (upgradeable to ICS)
http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_live_with_walkman-pictures-4111.php
Lol,it's really cheap,here x8 still about 150€

You can see here wat phones do they have..also it will get updated..I mean new phones will arrive in the next few days,so Im waiting!
Link:
mtel(dot)ba/menu/1949 Just scroll down!
Still x8 is waiting for me if I dont choose some other phone!
And you see I cant afford a expensive one..I got a budget about 120-160 dollars!

[Q] Buying a ZR (my first android)

greetings all...
this is my first post , and as the titles says its my first time to buy an android device.
i did my search on the web and i found out that it will suit me the best , but u have some question about this device , hopefully i can get answers from you:
1- will the ZR have a native DS3 support , cause i`m thinking about buying a game controller that will work for both the mobile and the PC(wired).
if not , is there is any alternative in the market?
2- i`v heard that the phone memory is somehow low (4.5GB) and it will not be able to move apps to the SD card (which of course i will buy a 32GB card). is it true , and is there is any solution to this?
Thanks in advanced , and sorry for the clumsy questions , its my first experience with android device.
Hello bro! If you look around the ZR forums you will find all the answers you are looking for,but still i will guide you.For the controller - yes ZR supports the native DS3.Sony controler both for phone and PC.For the second question - you've heard true. Our phone here have only 4.5 gigs of usage memory which is kinda low but enough. For now we dont have a chance to move apps to SD card. But we are waiting soon to have CyanogenMod 10 release for our phone,so this will be available in it BtW you chose a very good phonie here. Great to have you here Welcome to our little community ^^

thank you very much....
-the reason for asking is that the ZR was labeled as not compatible with DS3 in PlayStation mobile certified devices page, airbut i`v read also this on the xperiablog that all xperia devices will have native DS3 support which confused me about the truth.
and the DS3 has a good driver for PCs which well be perfect for me :good:
- CyanogenMod 10 seems to be very complicated thing to me , i`v been using SE Vivaz for 5 years , and the whole android thing is totally new for me, i think i will have to spend some time reading about rooting and android roms, but that encouraging to know that it will be no big deal to have 4.5 GB memory for apps
thank you again and `im really having great time on this forum :good:

Hi Crag you may check this Video Here and skip to 6:45
he is playing Dead Trigger via Sony Game Controller
And i believe that there'll be a way shortly to move apps to SD as it's not that hard ,in my Galaxy W i used to swap the Internal with the External by just modifying a line in "vold.fstab" in "system/etc" as long as i have root access which is already there for Xperia ZR
i've been reading a lot of reviews about this device and actually i like it so much ,and i think that i'll go for it by next weeks
thanks DoO37, but the reason for asking was for the wireless support , i`v heard that android phones can run gamepads easily but only wired , so i had to stick with the DS3 for the reason its the only gamepad that have official support from the manufacture , so it will work flawlessly with out the need to root or tweaking the phone (which most gamepad require to work) , and since i`m not very keen on android rooting, so i dont think rooting will be a priority for me ..
i agree, the ZR looks good ,received good reviews generally with minor complains like the low internal storage, bad FM radio, mediocre viewing angles , but it has every thing we need in a phone (at least for me) ,great HW, durable and removable battery, good camera, sturdy build; shatter proof screen(i broke my Vivaz screen 3 times ) , IP58 certified which is awesome..and fitted in the budget i have...
i`m not expert in android phones , but i think that the ZR is the best phone in its price range

Yes i also think the same.. and don't forget that this device will get a 4.3 android upgrade.. which is something really nice
and also about rooting and development.. i see that the XZR has most of the HW are identical as the XZ only the display resolution and some sensors as FXP mentioned ,so it will hopefully get a good development by FreeXperiaProject Team
Rooting is easy and not that hard ,special thanks to DoomLord who've made an app that make everything by itself ,you may check it here ,, the silly part imo is the Bootloader unlocking :/
anyway.. i gone crazy with this device ,it's more that beautiful specially for me as i don't like 5" displays
Goodluck
You'll get 32GB build-in ram if you buy docomo xperia A. If you are a phone user not are rom tester. Nexus family could be best fits for testers.
Greetings all...
I`m about the go to the SONY dealer and get the ZR, but i have some final questions to ask her before buying and regretting to do so..
1- The Bluetooth and WiFi problem? is it a global issue or happens with some phones?and can it be fixed
2- The Earpiece volume ? i`m OK with medium volume , but i hear people complaining that it is very low and very bad quality, is it true?
3- Heating problem? is it that big issue or is it normal for an IP58 phone?
4- Can i put a 64GB sd card in it , or it is only 32GB max?
cause honestly, if these issues are serious , i think that i will have to search for another sub 500$ android device (S3 for instance) , cause i`m not the kind of person who likes to change phones very often..
Thanks you very much
I don't have any of the first two problems. For the heat, mine gets warm when heavy use, but I think it's acceptable especially for a quad core phone.
Sony has released a .244 update for the phone a month ago(the latest version .67 has been released as well), it already support 64gb card.
However, Doomlord's root is not applicable for the .244 nor .67. Try Vroot if you want to root the phone. Or root the photo before update and then use OTA update instead of PC C.
If you really need app2sd function, which I don't think it is necessary, you can try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2445547
from my C5503 using xda app-developers app
thanks for the input...
since the phone will have a one year warranty so i think i will manage the issues if they might appear...
as for the memory card , i will be using very limited number of storage demanding apps , the reason for getting a 64GB stick is for media files (music ,movies , ebooks...) . so the ZR officially support 64GB?
but thanks anyway for the app2sd link , it will come in hand someday
Correction:
It should be .67 update for the 64GB card support.
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-zr/
Support for bigger (64GB) SD card so that you can store even more on your Xperia™

[Q] should I buy this phone and things a customer should know

So guys I am actually a Sony fan
and I really love xperia z1.
but after reading this forum I feel like z1 isn't a good device
there was a time i thought that z1 is carp but the 6 way camera shootout at gsmarena put my faith back in z1.
so I am now considering buying this device.
but some things I wanted to know...
1) is z1 screen really defective with that yellow hue. what are the chances to get a defective piece in India
2) is camera that bad. at gsmarena it looked fine.
3) free ram?.LG g2 has 350 mb free ram always. does z1 do any better.
4) have u ever dropped ur phone. what was the result.
5) antutu and quadrant results.
5) what are the chances to get a good (no camera or screen issue ) built of z1 here in India and what precaution should I take.
Bro dt worry...its an amazing fone... no complaints so far... amazing batt life..amazing cam...n super premium finish jst go for it...few customers hv hd bad experience like i had with ultra...bt i used note 3 (octa) bt trashed it with z1 m very very happy....go for it....u will nt regret
M frm india too and got build of october only...n so far its been amazing...n also we get a bunch full of spoiling goodies... go grab ur pre diwali gift....

1. There is always the next thing. In tech you'll wait forever. After the S5 comes the HTC whatever, after that comes the Sony Y (or whatever), and then you can already smell the S6 coming out
2. There is no lag whatsoever.
3. There is CM up to 11 and a few based on CM but there's not a huge amount of ROMs. I think that because Sony's is pretty great already. Personally, I have flashed every phone I had my hands on up until now. The Z and Z1, I left alone.
4. Rooting? No. But unlocking the BL probably does.
5. No. None that I know of. I guess, there's no reason why it shouldn't be possible.
6. Never noticed a hue. However, the screen is not as bright and candy-colorful as Samsung's S4. I don't mind, I don't like the screens burning in my eyes and I turn down the brightness on every mobile device.
