So I flashed this rom and it won't get past the M screen do I need to sbf, I wiped and everything, and recovery doesn't help at all

I got a boot loop when I flashed it I even wiped data and stuff. Had sfb I will try again when I get home from work
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App

To those bootlooping, try this from hashcode's website. It worked for one guy who had bootlooping issues.
http://www.hash-of-codes.com/files/Droid3Safestrap.apk

I got that one right after the boot loop. I could not get into recovery from a boot loop with the one that I had but this one looks like it will work.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App

i bootlooped and sbf'd twice. was on monsterrom 1.1h, cleared caches. not sure what happened.

For all those that have links, please go back to the page and test the latest version. I also added some new instructions.

Can you give the people who are not beta testers any idea of what your rom will be like?

Mostly stock, new launcher, bloated/debloated version, some small mods. And a theme that's all/mostly black.

It would be great if my testers could, you know, get back to me with some comments.
Also, new version is awaiting them, V0.904.

Im downloading new version now.

Great.
I have an extra-long weekend, so after I finish up my last few classes today I'm going to get to work reconstructing this all over again throughout the weekend.
*edit*
Just realized my latest upload is also a .rar, so just wait for my next version.

4.2.1 Update with CWM!

I haven't seen anybody mention this, so ignore me if this is common knowledge. I was on my stock 4.2 rooted ROM with CWM recovery and I got the 4.2.1 system update. Attempted it with CWM... And it worked. But not only did it work, after I choose reboot phone, CWM warned me that the ROM I just installed might try to flash stock recovery, and asked if I'd like to fix it. It then warned that I might lose root, again asking if I'd like to fix it. So now I'm on 4.2.1. Through system update. Kept CWM and root. Awesome!

Easier Root Exploit - Motochopper

Djrbliss strikes again with a new Motorola exploit and it works on the Atrix HD as well. A much easier one than booting up Linux IMO.
Find out more here: http://www.droid-life.com/2013/04/0...r-hd-running-android-4-1-2-other-devices-too/
Well sweet! I was failing at the linux method, will definitely give this a shot.

Go into root explorer / system/ app / blurupdater.apk and freeze, or delete it.

Linux method work's fine! I promise, you just got to follow instructions very, very close, step by step letter by letter. like setting up share.its GROUP.. not group. and ip address will work 10.0.x.x.x.
But great job guys! I really hope you get rooted now!

I just tried going back to stock via flashing sbf and root using motochopper. It works 100% and all I did is just pressing one click button.
It's even easier than rooting on ICS.

Testers (WIP - PACman ROM)

I normally dev for the Epic 4G Touch, but the one looks awesome and is probably gonna be my upgrade soon
I was just wanting to see if anyone would be willing to test custom aosp builds for me. I'm part of the PAC-man team and am compiling it right now (about midnight PST)
After PACman I might build some other ROMs for the one.
Thanks, and I can't wait to hopefully get this phone!

Hey sniper. Doesn't seem to flash through twrp. Goes from 0 to done almost instantly. Without anything being flashed (reboot ends up with a blank screen...no boot animation even). Going to look through the update script to see if I can spot anything.
Edit: after restoring my backup it seems my internal storage was wiped.. not sure what happened but my downloads folder among other things doesn't show up anymore
Edit 2: so it turns out the content of internal storage wasn't wiped but was placed into a folder named 0... So now my downloads folder is in /storage/sdcard0/0/Downloads...strange

I'm also having the same problem the screen go black and then will not boot
Doesnt flash
Hmm, sorry about that... Did anyone try with cwm?
nope sorry I have only tried TWRP
No worries, I think I just found the problem anyways. Trying a new build now
Oh I think I missed the post, but seems it wasn't flashing. I'm at work, but if there's a build to test when I get home, I'm down!

MIUI Test Build

Hey guys. My XDA pal built me a MIUI test build. I'll be perfectly honest with you guys, I'm a little gun shy after some people bricked their phones while on AOSP. I kind of want someone else to be the test dummy
If you understand that this is only a test build that has never been tried before AND that the maker of this test build does not have this phone AND if something goes wrong with the flash I or the creator of the test build will not be held responsible.
Ok, that is the first disclaimer I have ever had to write over here. Without further delay...here is the link:
Hopefully one of you guys is more courageous than myself. Logcats would be appreciated. If this build is actually somewhat functional and we provide LOGCATS I'm sure he will continue working on it.
EDIT: I forgot to mention this point: He told me that before flashing this I should delete the NFC.apk. These are the steps:
1. download the test build and confirm MD5.
2. using WinRAR or similar program navigate to SYSTEM>APP>NFC.APK
3. right click and hit DELETE FILES
4. the MIUI Test build zip should now be w/o the NFC.apk
Update: Link has been temporarily pulled until kernel issue is resolved.
Was this built for the Sprint One specifically?
This looks sweet...make sure befpre everyone downloads to check to make sure its actually sprint. Build.prop boot.img updater script etc.
Lemme download n check
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Yes, it was built for the Sprint HTC One. However, he does not have this phone. He based his work off of one of our CM builds. I would imagine that any bug we currently have on CM would be present in this test build.
EDIT: I should add this to the OP but it may be overkill...please make a nandroid before attempting to flash this.

Well he wouldn't have made it for me if he thought there was NO chance of it booting. He banged it out pretty fast though so I don't put too much faith into it. If I wasn't such a big wuss I would just flash it...but alas, I am a wuss so I'll let someone more savvy than myself give it a shot first.

At least you had an idea of what things to look for in a possibly working build. I wouldn't know where to start. If you decide to flash it please keep us posted!
You'll want to pull the link. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but it seems he had an issue with the kernel. I have yet to come up with the time to fix it, as I just had a long day with the kids. I'll try to look at it when I get home.

Knock on not working

Ok so I am on a stock kitkat rom. Rooted and twrp installed. I decided to flash the dorimanx kernel. After I flashed the kernel knock on only works when the screen is on. Please help. I don't want to return to stock. I'm think refreshing the 24a baseband and rom will fix it.

Did the same last night, flashed latest dorimanx and lost knock on. Really pissed me off, but should've just taken the advice from other Verizon users on there that said they lost knock on. I fixed it by using the hidden menu route in Development.

A few pieces of advice: create the file in your sdcard, not in system/bin. Name the file hiddenmenu. Then move it to system/bin. At the top of the OP, there's a link to Xdabbeb's thread. Go there and copy the commands exactly as he has them. Otherwise, should be good.
