How can I use this?

Download the file. put your phone in bootloader by pressing the option key while connecting your phone on the PC. On the right side you must see the blue light.
Then run the batch file.
It works!

You have to put the phone into fastboot mode, and then from the computer just run the command
fastboot boot <name of recovery image>
Specific handholding instructions:
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286885
Follow my instructions here up until step 7. On step 7, type this command instead:
fastboot boot <name of recovery image>
Your phone will now boot into CWM
You can ignore the rest of my instructions there - they're only for rooting the phone.

Bin4ry any version for Sony live with walkman WT19i

Bin4ry,
Does the backup function in this recovery work fully? Can I use it to backup my entire phone, and then if I have a problem flashing a new semc and then cyanogen(mod)7, simply restore the backup I created to get back to stock?
Thanks
Sent from my Acer Iconia A100 using XDA Premium for Android

Normally yes, but you always have to flash the CM kernel and vice versa the stock Kernel via fastboot before the restored ROM can boot.
Problem is that kernel partition is not accessable via recovery, so it cannot be backuped or restored.
Regards

Is there a way to backup the stock kernel I'm on now, outside of recovery?

The only way to get the kernel is using SEUS/PC Companion. You can see how on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13091752&postcount=2
You may also need Bin4ry Flashtool, you can get it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
After decrypting the blob_fs files, you kernel will be in the file which beggins with "kernel_".
Note that you can only do this when you are using the stock ROM. Using a custom ROM disabled the SEUS/PC Companion usage.

Awesome, that's exactly what I want to do.
I just want the option to be able to revert back to stock if the need arises. For example, in last week's CM7 update the hardware keyboard wasn't mapped properly, which is a deal killer for me. So I'd have restored my stock setup until it was fixed.
So this way I can re-flash my original kernel, then restore my nandroid backup, and away I go

I just got my Xperia pro with android 2.3.3 (from fido) rooted and unlocked.
I can't get the update to 2.3.4 so i want to flash it with flashtool, the kernel is the same for both version or not?! How can i backup it, in my seus i don't get the option to make a backup...

You can update to the latest version of the stock firmware(4.0.2.A.0.42) downloading the corresponding file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18678726&postcount=3
Be sure to select the correct version (MK16a or MK16i) depending on your phone's model. Selecting the wrong one will result on losing 3G/HSDPA. For Italy, it should be MK16i.
To backup your applications & information, you can use Titanium Backup or RerWare MyBackup. Search bot on the Android Market. If you want to make a backup of your current MTDs, you can use nandroid:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459830
That way you can reflash your MTDs if something goes wrong. Note that nandroid is intended to be used when you are developing custom roms, not when upgrading to another stock rom version.

[TOOL/LT15] [UPDATE 07/01/2013] Flashtool version 0.9.10.0 - Windows / Linux / Mac

Hello
Flashtool can be downloaded on the Flashtool Homepage (on Installation tab)
As Flashtool was originally developped for X10, you can find a lot of information on the Original X10 Flashtool thread
Major new feature : Fastboot toolbox for 2011 line devices.
Major update for 0.6.8.0 : Ability to now install CWM from Flashtool on locked bootloader.
Fastboot now works fine under linux
Please post fastboot issues here in this thread
If ever you want to setup an eclipse environment for Flashtool, you can check this thread
Flashtool does not recognize the decrypted FW.
I downloaded the decryptd FW for the Arc - extracted the files and copied it to the firmware folder of the flashtool (with Folder inside and without folder inside (.sin files directly to "firmware" folder)).
Started flashtool, pushed Flash, but no FW is available. Maybe I have to convert the .sin files in one .ftf file, but how?
Good initiative
Will follow this thread closely and hope for it being completely rooted before release

Can you set the flashtool to debug mode ? (Help->Log Level->Debug) and try again, then send me the log file ?
I'm not an expert, but from that log it looks like it'll be a while before the new phones are rooted, looks like they can't be rooted in the same way as the previous SE Droids!

Actually yes, the exploit does not work on Arc device :
20/059/2011 15:59:24 - DEBUG - stdout :Failed to set prot mask (Inappropriate ioctl for device)
I will follow superoneclick developpment (the exploit is extracted from this project)
To be continued ...
Thanks. I created the ftf file over the wizard and flahsed the FW on the Arc.
Works perfect.
Can also confirm, that rooting is not possible...

Good news about flashing
Succesfully flashed by Decrypted ROM (without root...)
Guys why don't you try something to root the ARC like the nexus s phone?
i think they are at the same ver2.3.2
Maybe it will help looking at nexus s dev forum?
i would like to root it as i just brought mine today.
its a generic ver. with no branding of telco.
Nexus S was not rooted. It was security unlocked. Same will be done with XPERIA Arc.

But that doesn't mean it that it will take eternities, or will it? I think about getting the Arc and rooting is not a must, but would be really nice to have for such things as SetCPU...
How much has to be done to enable rooting for it, or will it all be solved by unlocking the bootloader?
i think since the bootloader is now unlockable (& mine is already unlocked ) it would be much appreciated to have recovery compiled for our handsets..
has any1 a clue how to do so?
Question for people that that have created a FTF file.
What loader did you use? If you select the arc, I notice it just hangs. However, if you use the X10 loader it completely very quickly.
Thanks
do we need to unlock the bootloader if we flash the SE rom?
we unlock the bootloader doesn't want the se rom.
Has anyone here decrypted ROM from their phone. I did the SEUS update and placed two files into a folder and decrypted them with FlashTool then when it tried to package it up it get stuck here
"Adding loader.sin to the bundle" and this happens when I select the ARC option but if I do the X10 it goes through.
Any hints?
EDIT:
Attached is the LT15 missing from Loaders folder in Flash Tool for make Bundling available for arc decrypted file.

[Close]Xperia V with locked boot loader

A new easy method is introduced, lets follow another thread, thank you for supports
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186368
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requirement;
Rooted 4.0.4 with locked bootloader (Rooting)
CWM for Xperia V ICS (CWM)
Make a backup copy that is compatible with JB
1. Flash stock JB rom in CWM (XperiaV-JB.zip)
This step is probably!, not required, yet it is to be checked. Firstly I tried without this step and my phone got continuous reboot. When you flashed the stock JB rom do not reboot the device and proceed to step 2.
2. Flash JB rom in CWM - Xperia V Supersport JB is recommended (Xperia.V.Supersport.JB.V1.1.zip)
You can use another rom, but I haven't noticed any problems with this one so far. Do not reboot the device and get right to next step.
3. Flash fix for CWM (View attachment Xperia.V.JB.CWM.Fix.zip)
Do not turn on your phone. You can push reboot in CWM and when the screen is off pull out the battery. Only then the next step.
4. Flash stock kernel 9.1.A.0.490 FTF in Flashtool (LT25_SXV_Stok_Kernel_9.1.A.0.490_Dogsly.ftf) thanks to, Dogsly
After rebooting, your phone will be in android 4.1.2 with SU in locked bootloader,
If you have applied fix for CWM in step 3, you can still enter CWM but press power button (not holding) instead of volume button.
If you are in JB with root already, you can install CWM for xperia T v2 made by davidmarco. (View attachment Xperia.V.JB.CWM.Install.zip)
Install step refers to ClockWorkMod 6.0.1.2 for Xperia T/TL/TX/V
Enter CWM in JB: After blue LED appear, continue press power button (not holding)

Nice guide, thanks!
Step 1: I read there is no Gapps in that ROM?
Step 2: do you mean flash kernel.sin and loader.sin?
And tft is picture format, maybe you mean ftf?
why are people always said tft not ftf? I have read a lot of that tft. I'm just curious or maybe I'm the one who is ignorant?. Sorry for the off-topic

I think its better you write: flash Jelly Bean ROM instead of system, its confusing (system.sin)?
Anyway, good finding. :good:
@datagubben have you manage to root your V? using this step? can you also create a step that is more clearer thanks
A request to a clear simple step guide instructions how to root the xperia v with bootloader locked please.
Edit: Use OP instructions.
Is there gapps?
This firmware TRIMMED-LT25i-SOL21_9.0.F.0.195.ftf as I understand I am sure is for the Xperia VL and I tried it, keep getting to Xperia logo then reboot it everytime and it ask for the decryption key so what is that please?
I already Jelly Bean locked on my phone so can jump to flashing with with above firmware again concerned it might keep rebooting or I do I need to downgrade to ICS firmware first?

Just updated the steps with Xperia V Supersport Jelly Bean rom recommended as wifi function well!

Requirements:
Flashtool 0.9.13 by @Androxyde
XZDualRecovery 2.7.76 BETA or newer.
Current rooted FW version: 10.4.B.0.569, Maybe others too, let me know!.
Special features:
SuperSU integrated in system, FULL ROOT!
XZDualRecovery 2.7.86 BETA (CWM & PhilZ Touch & TWRP) pre-installed;
init.d support (read how to enable)
For both locked and unlocked bootloaders!
In the following guide I suggest you use an external SDCard but that's just good practice, you can use your internal storage or even an USB OTG storage device in TWRP if you like to install, that's no problem!... If you are modding and the likes, best is to have an external sdcard, just for safeties sake.
If you are unable to download torrent files directly, have http://zbigz.com/ do it for you!
How to update to 10.4.1.B.0.101:
Files:
For C6603: Download C6603_10.4.1.B.0.101.flashable.zip (Bittorrent: 802MB) and C6603_10.4.1.B.0.101_Stripped.ftf (17MB)
Save them somewhere you remember;
Put 'C66XX_10.4.1.B.0.101.flashable.zip' on (the external) SDcard1;
Put 'C66XX_10.4.1.B.0.101_Stripped.ftf' inside the Flashtool/firmwares folder;
Create a backup of your phone in TWRP and don't forget to backup the contents of 'SDCard' (the internal storage!);
Flash 'C66XX_10.4.1.B.0.101.flashable.zip' in TWRP;
NOTE: do not reboot but go back to the main menu, then go to reboot->power off;
Flash everything in 'C66XX_10.4.1.B.0.101_Stripped.ftf' using flashtool;
Reboot to system.
The first boot will be slow and after some time at the boot animation you will see Android start optimizing the apps on your phone.
Enjoy! :laugh:
Known XZDualRecovery Issues:
Busybox Updater/Installer: If you have XZDualRecovery installed, un-install any Busybox updating app/tool as most if not all of them will install a version of busybox which does not support the lzma compression applets XZDualRecovery depends on. The version installed together with XZDualRecovery is very stable and I have yet to hear anyone complain about it's stability.
How to report errors:
Please, before shouting out "It doesn't work!!1!" or "I lost root!" or even "My phone reboots when remounting /system RW!!" try the following:
Restore any JB 4.2.2 FTF using any means you are familiar with so you can try again.
Root it using any means you are familiar with.
Install XZDualRecovery;
Update to 10.4.B.0.569;
Then try to update again using TWRP.
If it still fails something from there on: LOGS!!.
NOTE: The important ones can be found in /cache/recovery and in /sdcard1/XZDualRecovery, pack them up and send them to me or attach them to your bug report.
Thank you
Tips and Tricks
Easy switching between locked and unlocked bootloader states!
NOTE: USE TWRP ONLY for this guide.
NOTE 2: You NEED to have XZDualRecovery 2.7.43 or higher to make this work.
Create a backup, including the Trim Area (TA!)
Unlock your bootloader
Restore backup without TA
Create a new backup of your UNLOCKED TA
Restore the previous TA backup to relock your phone.
Done :good:
Now you can switch between locked and unlocked bootloaders quick and painless: no more system wipes and you can basically do whatever you want
How to enable init.d support:
Open a filemanager app and navigate to the location where the XZDualRecovery folder is located and go in to it. Open XZDR.prop as a text file and set dr.initd.active to true.
NOTE: For this guide ROM it means the init.d script called 99SuperSUDaemon will kick in to action, so it's best to disable (by setting chmod 644) /system/etc/install-recovery.sh for the time being or to clear it's contents.
Done
And this one too... just to be sure.

I didn't test, but I doubt it, you will need the kernel in the FTF for this to work ok.

Simple Questions Give some easy answers!!
I won't complicated things. just give me a clear answer.
What i have:
1. Xperia z2 stock .264 installed
2. Unlocked Bootloader
3. Nut xperia dual recovery installed
My question:
1. How to install this recovery? fastboot flash recovery recovery.img ??
2. Or do i need to use flashtool? if so, then give a screenshot of what should be marked while flashing(I don't wanna end up bricking my phone).
3. What isn't working on this recovery or What is actually working can't seem to find that. hmm, or it's a stable one(works most of the important things)?
I have multirom twrp 2.7.8.0, can I update it with this?

Can we use this with Official Marshmallow beta firmware?
Also, I've heard that xperia series doesn't have recovery partition so users should use FOTA partition which enabled by custom kernel.
I guess when user press a volume key, some script in custom kernel detect that and let the user enter the TWRP.
My question is, how do we enter the recovery when we have UNLOCKED bootloader, but sony STOCK kernel? Does volume key entering method enable just by flashing this twrp img?
At first you need to flash the New Bootloader (you can do this when you flash the .264 firmware with flashtool (flashing via twrp does not work))
Then install this recovery via fastboot to recovery
After that this recovery works with MM
simply hold vol down while booting
i cant flash this recovery and original twrp via fastboot and i dont know why , i have rooted Z2 with unlocked bootloader.Debugging i have on too.
I used flashtool to get the phone in to fastboot mode, coz I'm lazy. I opened up a cmd window and typed something similar too..
Fastboot flash recovery twrp3.img
@championswimmer pls update this recovery sir, because official twrp aren't work with newest bootloader
