Integrate your Box.Net account into Windows Explorer - Off-topic

This was done on Windows XP. If you have Windows 7, there are further instructions at the bottom of this post.
I saw a post somewhere that gave me a tip on the web address to use, but I forgot where the post was, so unfortunately I can't give them credit. The process they spelled out didn't work, but I did get it working later.
This will integrate your Box.net account into Windows Explorer for easier access. Note that this does not mean that all the files saved there are also saved on your computer, it only gives explorer access to them.

i cant get this to work . is it down or what?
edit nm. idk what was up i rebooted my system now it works. weird.

I had trouble mapping a drive too, it just kept rejecting my username and password. I found that logging out of the box.net webpage and logging back in, it asked me to complete a captcher on the first login after changing my password. After doing that I was able to map the drive with no problems.

i have the same problem here in mapping network drive....

network path not found!
I keep getting an error message saying "The network path \\box.net\dav could not be found." Any suggestions?

you miss the Great WWW mate
Well BlaznAzyn, I think you miss the WWW in front of the link. so the right link is
\\ www . box . net \ dav

[GUIDE] How to install Ubuntu to VM and More

This is a guide of easy installing Ubuntu on a second drive (not partitioning) or a pen drive which you can carry around your system.
First of all we need VmWare : VMware Workstation 9
Ubuntu CD: Ubuntu Download
First we download VmWare and Ubuntu CD (I used 12.10)…
After successful setup of VmWare create a new VM.
Using New VM Wizard we choose Custom (Advanced).
Hardware Compability --> Vmware 9.0
We select the Ubuntu CD to the Installer Disc Image File.

only a small amount of data will written to this folder)
Select the number of cores you will spend for this VM
Select the Memory you will spend for this VM
Select the Network type you desire
Select I/O Controller Type
When in Select Disk screen Select Use a physical disk (for advanced users).
In Vista/7/8 Admin Rights needed for this operation
Select the Second Drive (separate disk or Usb stick) and select Use Entire Disk
ATTENTION: YOU WILL LOOSE ALL THE INFORMATION IN THIS PARTITION SO BE CAREFUL WHEN SELECTING. AND DON’T BLAME ME FOR LOOSING YOUR PRECIOUS DATA.
Just hit next
Select Customize Hardware. Remove Floppy and close. Hit Finish
When VM restarts it will repartition your drive removing old one and creating Ubuntu partitions
Wait for Ubuntu Setup to copy system Files
You can enter your system with the username and password you have selected while creating VM.
If no problem occurs you can now browse your favorite forum.
And if you install your Ubuntu to a Pen Drive, you can use it on any computer by selecting your pen drive as Primary Boot Drive from BIOS.

Multiboot Selection from Windows
There is a magic tool called EasyBCD which we can take control of the Windows Boot menu easily.
We can easily download a non commercial one from its site: EasyBCD Download
After setup, open the program. Select Add New Entry from left menu. And on the right panel select Linux/BSD.
Select:
Type: GRUB 2
Name: Whatever you want
Drive: Automatically locate and load
Click Add Entry. And all done now we have multi boot menu which can load windows or ubuntu on choice.
If you install Ubuntu on a Pen Drive or a removable drive, dont forget to plugin before starting your computer.
Reserved for something but cant remember now....
This would be better suited in another, more general forum, considering it's not related to Android devices.
I also don't think such an easy thing needs yet another guide (plenty of tutorials all over the Internet), but that's just my opinion. Good effort nevertheless.

[Tutorial] Steps to install 65xx preloader Driver in Windows 8 / 8.1 for Android One

[Tutorial] Easy Steps to install An 65xx preloader Driver in Windows 8 / 8.1
Here is what I figured and did to get around it.
First, press win + I to launch the charm bar, and click Change PC Settings at the bottom.
Then, go to General, and scroll to the bottom of the page, click Restart Now button under Advanced Startup section. Remember to save all your work first before clicking it.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
[Note that on Windows 8.1, the Advanced Startup option has moved to Update and recovery section under Recovery]
The computer reboots to a startup menu, in which click Troubleshoot.
And click Advanced Options at next screen.
Choose Startup Settings next,
And click Restart button.
The computer reboots and prompts another menu to choose. One of the items is to Disable driver signature enforcement. Press number 7 or F7 to continue booting to Windows 8 with digital sign enforcement disabled.
And then I was able to get the Windows Security warning window offering me to install this driver anyway.
I would suggest changing the UAC settings first to see if the Install Anyway window prompts out. The solution showing off in this post should be the last resort to try out. And make sure the driver you are about to install is safe, though not digitally signed.
Extract the USB_VCOM_Driver.rar file and leave it
After that Open Device Manager and leave it open!
Switched off your phone remove battery connect now on the PC, you should now see a MT65xx preloader in the Device Manager.
Right click on that and install/update drivers show the path where you extract the folder and click Done.
Now you can restore or flash firmware using SP Flash Tool...............
Happy Flashing..
Also check my work on Google boot logo thread

MT65xx preloader in the Device Manager is not showing up I'm on windows 8.1 it gives continuous sounds connect disconnect nothing happening .. ??

[Q] Auto root not working for me

Hello, I have tried to follow the AIO guide that has a sticky, but I had no luck there. I ended up installing "adb-setup-1.4.2" by snoop05 on my windows PC and that got me started in the right direction (I think). I've unlocked my bootloader, it says device is UNLOCKED: status code 3. Awesome.
Now to use CF-Auto-Root. I have my phone in bootloader mode. I run "root-windows" batch file and the cmd prompt comes up (ran as admin), I press any key to continue and this happens:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
http://imgur.com/bcliyxO
I then press any key again, and nothing changes. No red android, no change.
What the f*** am I doing wrong?!
Please halp!
Thank you.
What I did was shift right click in the explorer window and you should see a option to open cmd window here. Then type in root-windows.bat and hit enter.
Basically the cmd prompt is not at the right directory. Which is causing the failure
Wow ok, I figured it out. Don't run as administrator, just run the batch file normally.
/facepalm.

I don't know that administrator mode was the problem. Like Elevate08 wrote, just opening the batch file probably didn't work because adb wasn't in the same directory. I added adb/fastboot to the PATH variable so I can run it from anywhere. I don't use the explorer for this sort of thing though. I just open a command prompt.
He wasnt in the correct place to do what he did.....the files are in a folder called root and the batch file called cmd.exe from windows\system32
Open a command prompt in the root folder as administrator, then run the batch file from the command line. Or open the command prompt and then run the batch file as administrator which is the same difference
GL
Hey thanks everyone for the replies. I didn't do anything different other than running the windows batch file normally, instead of running as administrator. I'm sure it was cringe worthy to a lot of people on here but at least I got it done. I installed TWRP and did a backup, which I then transferred to my PC. downloading a custom ROM now, and going to give that a try too

[Q] Can't get MTP to work

Hi,
I have been trying to connect my Nexus 6 to my work pc but I just can't get the MTP file copying mode to work properly. I have used the latest Google USB driver and actually it's not so bad. With USB Debugging turned ON, I see "Android Deivce > Android ADB Interface" properly installed in device manager. I even see my phone's serial no. when I type "adb devices" in command prompt. BUT the bloody MTP mode just refuses to work. It keeps showing up in Device Manager as "Other devices" > MTP, with a question mark next to it.
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I switch USB debug off, there's no Android ADB Interface, and the unknown MTP entry in "other devices" transforms to "Nexus 6", again with a question mark next to it.
I have tried to manually install the proper driver but for starters, if I just select the folder where the .inf files are located Windows don't seem to anything inside it and when I force it to use that file ("Show All Devices > Have Disk") it only shows ADB and Bootloader drivers:
So what am I suppose to choose there in order for MTP to work as it should?
Have you tried other pc or laptop??
Yes, the phone shows up correctly in all modes on my home pc.
Just for giggles you ought to download the Nexus toolkit and let it go find the drivers it thinks it needs to work. afterwards you could just delete the tool. http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/

I did that to no success but in the end, I just tried a different USB2.0 port and it worked, all drivers installed correctly. Now the weird thing is I can read from the internal memory of the phone, I can delete stuff from it, but when I try to copy something to it it says: "Error copying. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected" so I can't yet copy to it. This is driving me crazy right now...
I have this issue this morning. Right click and Update Drivers > Browse For Drivers > Let me pick > Portable Devices > Standard MTP Device > MTP Device.
