Hi,

If you are running Viber on a customized ROM, it may result in side effects. At this stage, due to the large variety of customized ROMs available, we partially support only the basic ones, such as CM7 and MIUI.

Some Bluetooth Problems Some ROMs

My Apologies if this is in the incorrect forum but I have experienced problems with bluetooth and my Parrot 3100 incar bluetooth (newest firmware) with some of these ROMs. It is no fault of the ROM writers as it is with a certain windows version they use I am guessing.
Through a bunch of tests with different ROMs, by firstly going back to the Telstra HTC unit, all the Radios are fine with bluetooth and the Telstra ROM, but I have noticed that when you go to a different rom it may fail, Different Bluetooth Engines or drivers maybe I am not sure and no expert.
I noticed ROM's whereby Bluetooth configuration from Comms manager is done by clicking settings down the bottom only work OK. So if you click on the word bluetooth and the bluetooth switch turns on/off chances are it will work, if you must click on the switch to turn bluetooth on/off it may cause issues wth some devices.
So for thoe who know more about the differences, Telstra and KWBR (AKA A_Touch_of_HD) ROM's worked and most of the others (Dutty and EnergyROM were my most recent tests) wouldn't pair what so ever.
So if you are having problems, my siggestion, go back to your orignal ROM and get it working then start again with flashing these much improved ROMs.
If someone can explain maybe what the difference is between the versions is it would be great and allow us less competent people to keep experimenting with your newer creations.
Oh and BTW guys I have tried a lot of these ROMs and thank you for making this phone worth the money. If I was stuck with the telstra ROM chances are, I'd be using a phone for Calls and Text messaging only eek
All you developers are doing a great job

Diamond crashes when making VOIP calls

Hello all,
First off, I am a noob here, so i expect I may say something stupid. Thank you for your kindness, if you wish to correct me. I'm having an issue with the Diamond - it completely freezes when I attempt VOIP calls. Only solution is to take out the battery. No gray screen, no warning, just frozen. I suspect a HW issue, maybe the WiFi.
Originally I was using Morna ROM 1.7.1 which worked well. VOIP was choppy though - not enough RAM in my opinion - so I tried some lighter ROMs. The problem started while I was changing ROMs, and now it's persistent regardless of ROM. I've tried various versions of Morna, Duttys, Tom's, Energy, Nataly... then back to the original, still the same problem.
The crash doesn't always occur at the same spot. Sometimes it's while placing a call, sometimes while on the call, even while configuring the SIP client. I've used different clients, incl Skype, SJPhone, Fring, PortSIP... I suspect it might be a WiFi issue, because I saw the connection drop/reconnect a few times while in a call, before crashing. That said, browsing through WiFi is no problem.
Did I fry some hardware with the repeated re-flashing? Please help! I'm not sure if there are any debugging tools/methods I can use here to better understand what's happening. I've decided to use this phone only at home for VOIP calls (no mobile), so I need to solve this issue.
Try using AGEphone, best softphone that I have found. It will also put all calls through the main speaker, a major problem with most softphone clients on HTC devices.

[Q] Using Skype on Incredible S

Hi,
Is there anybody here who can use audio on skype with the Incredible S for a long time ? Before the gingerbread update, mine cannot use audio for more than 1 minute. After the upgrade, I still have the same problem.
I can see my contacts connected. I can call them. But after talking for about 1 minutes, sometimes may be 10 seconds, the audio became horrible, slow and jerky.
How to solve this problem ? I have an HTC HD2 and it works a lot better. Even SIP cannot work properly on the IS where as my HD2 does not have any problem. What's happenning ? Is this a software problem or hardware problem ? Do you have the same problem or not ?
Thanks in advance for your help, your tips or your replies.
i belive this issue is related to the single issue

that tin foil trick might work
but personally i do not "cup" my phone when making calls and rarely cover the wi-fi antenna
Waouw ! I just learn a new thing from you. I'm surprised. Does that mean wifi on IS is not good enough ? That's why I cannot use Wifi for calling whatever is the software. According to some other post found with the search tool here, some people seems to have nearly the same problem, if it's not exactly the same. Like with the HTC Sensation model. In this case, HTC makes me very disappointed ... so please reassure me !
PS: I won't cup my phone ! I prefer to buy another brand
It's ok. I replaced the sip software by another one, Linphone, and it works pretty good. So I'm happy that wifi is not the origin of my problem. For Skype, still nothing. I believe that skype audio is not optimized for the incredible S.
can't you just use fring? i believe that supports incredible s. I haven't used it to talk with anyone since no one i know has a front facing camera

[Q] Viber for Sensedroid

Hey guys,
I have a problem with viber...it always crashes everytime I try to access the application, can somebody tell me how to fix this?
Thanks
and also....is it working on ARCDroid?
Hi,
This is a member of Viber's Development Team.
What device do you have?
Do you have stock or custom ROM?
Does ARCDroid is your device? (couldn't find it for some reason. :S)
Viber Team
ARCDroid is a Custom Android ROM for a Windows Mobile 6 phone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. There's really no reason why Viber MUST work on this situation.
I just wish there was at least ONE proper viber/liveprofile/whatsapp alternative for Windows Mobile 6
Ahh... I see now.
Unfortunately, Viber does not officially support your device nor the OS (or the custom ROM), so it will be very hard for me to assist you on this.
You might want to contact the ROM developers
hmm...I see..thanks for the information
I am having the same issue, viber used to run on my Custom xdandroid (FROYO) ROM.
Now it's not working (I guess i need to go back to the older Viber version which used to work).
As it was working in the first place, why should it stop working with an updated Viber version running on the same custom ROM?
Because with each new version, we add new features and improve/alter existing ones. It could be that a new feature is now colliding with something that the ROM has tweaked, while before it was changed, everything was fine.
It still doesn't rule out the possibility that it's the ROM colliding with Viber.

Hi,
We have received reports from many Chinese users that Viber stopped working suddenly all across the country. We suspect that it's blocked now.
Can you confirm?
Yes, I confirm. I live in Beijing using China Unicom and Viber has been inaccessible for the 4 last days or something.
The strange thing is that after I use a VPN to connect I can then deactivate it and I stay connected to Viber...
I've been living in China for 10 years now, and trust me, I got to love that country because they are such a pain with the internet.
This is sad news - we're going to lose a huge portion of our Chinese users
Have you tried contacting the authorities, or your cellular provider? What do they say about this sudden block?
@zorlak -
Is the block still intact? We have received a few reports from users for whom Viber suddenly works again on WiFi networks!

[Q] [Help] Bluetooth problem

Hi all.
Every 10 (about) calls my Note loses the bluetooth connection with my new car (during a call). I’have this problem only with ICS and Jelly Bean OS, the Gingerbread bluetooth connection works fine. Can you help me, please ?
Is it an hardware or software problem ? (it seems software because of ginger..). Any suggestions, please ?
Thank you a lot
seen a lot of thread on this but mainly on JB roms
Slightly OT but still connected, on most JB custom ROMs that I have flashed recently, I have found that when using Bluetooth either on a headset or with the car, I find that there is a lot of lag after the call has completed. Meaning that while the call is actually completed, the phone still stays on the call screen for a couple of seconds. Once the phone screen has gone away, it is back to normal.
But with regards to the connection itself, I have never had the problem of losing the connection.
In your opinion the reason may be some apps (from google-store) ?
