[Q] Ice Cream Sandwich - Samsung Galaxy Mini

guys wat about Ice cream sandwich on our mini??
i read that it will possibly run on every phone running gingerbread so it might be possible that we get a custom or official ice cream sandwich port or maybe ice cream sandwich cyanogen mod.

If ICS supports QVGA, I think it is quite possible to wait for an official release from Samsung. If not, only hope is to wait for the new CyanogenMod.

Samsung are damm slow in releasing updates.
Asian version of mini still hasn't got official GB updates yet.

well as i know our mini can carry weight of ice cream sandwich im quite sure coz 4.0 version is improved and won't use much amount of RAM as 2.2 or 2.3. whenever i found something i'll share it here. take care

yay true... So, if this is the speed we won't get ICS for at least next two years... THere are many other important phones (S2, S) to get the update first

Here are some snapshots of Ice Cream Sandwich if you want to see/know how it looks... Believe me it looks awesome and very beautiful.

Also, if you want to know new features of Ice Cream Sandwich and Galaxy Nexus --this smartphone is damn good that anyone will fall in love with it-- read this:

I can confirm that we'll atleast get gingerbread. Att said all 2011 devices will get it. They did not however say when...
On the plus side Google said that ice cream sandwich will be rolled out to omap4 devices first. BUT that does not mean LG will push an ICS update to the current Optimus line. And on top of that its doubtful att will ever push an ICS update to the Thrill. Another BUT...as long as LG updates the kernel source to a version compatible with ICS it can be ported. We've got a GB capable kernel already and I've been working on a port but its a long tedious process and I'm not even to the point where I can start compiling with any confidence that it will work. If and when I can get it compiled to where it will boot ill upload it to my git so others can help with getting everything working.

[Q] New Galaxy Tab Owner, fill me in on the "scene"

I just got myself a Verizon Galaxy Tab (from Woot), and I was searching around for ROMs for it. It came installed with Froyo (and tons of Verizon crapware).
I found a Honeycomb ROM, but the links are all dead. I spoke with oldmacnut, and was told that spacemoose1 isn't working on these anymore, and that he (oldmacnut) doesn't want to post ROMs to XDA after some drama or something.
I also found an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM, but it seems too alpha for me to want to use.
I then looked for Cyanogenmod 7 (Gingerbread) ROMs, but they all seem to be for GSM only (I have CDMA).
So, can someone fill me in on Galaxy Tab ROM development. Will there be a CM7 ROM for CDMA tabs? Is anyone working on Honeycomb?
Currently, I have Galaxy Cubed 3 installed, and I am patiently waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich to be complete.
Edit: I just found a CM7 ROM for CDMA, I'm gonna try that.

[Q] Droid bionic

Can i install Android 3.5 gingerbread in my new android bionic 16gb? it is possible? I know if i install the Ice cream some of the features won't work but with the gingerbread i am not sure if everything is going to work. Right now i am running android version 2.3.4?
3.5 is accually Honeycomb flavor and to my understanding is that 3.x roms are only really compatible with Tablets. I personally wouldn't chance it.

3.5 does not exist. Honeycomb only went up to 3.2.x
Gingerbread refers to Android 2.3.x versions of the operating system. The Droid Bionic has only ever run Android 2.3.4.
I don't know what you seek to accomplish. There are Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.x) builds out for the Bionic if you're willing to root and install them.

[Q] Best Samsung Galaxy S5830i update?

Hi there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5830i and I've just been browsing through the Jellybean updates, however they all seem to have some kind of error with the camera.
I was just wondering if someone could give me a link to a thread or something with the best update, i.e. one with the least errors (preferably not to with the camera, as I use that quite a lot, and wifi). Anything over 2.3.6 version would be nice, so I wouldn't mind Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich but I'd prefer Jellybean, though I'm guessing these would be the ones with the least errors.
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know the S5830i doesn't have any ICS nor Jelly Bean ROM, and if it has, it would be very buggy, since Broadcom didn't release the drivers for our phone yet, so I think the most that you can get is android 2.3.7 (here).
Press the Thanks if helped.
Try jellyblast rom. It gives you the jellybean looks plus android version 4.1.1 ( Settings--» About Phone--» Android Version--»» 4.1.1 ). But I don't think there are any ics/jb roms for s5830i like our s5830 ( cm9, cm10, aokp, aosp, pac, etc ; )
I used to have beautiful life before. Now I'm in engineering...!

Thanks for your reply!
Is there any decent changes within 2.3.7 that differs from 2.3.6? I mainly wanted to update it for a new design and so that it supports more apps.
