Set CPU profiles - Samsung Galaxy Mini

As in the title, what CPU profiles are you using?
Here's mine:
Temp>50°C: 122-122 power save
Screen off: 122-122 power save
Charging AC: 122-600 performance
Battery <5%: 122-122 power save
Battery <10%: 122-480 conservative
In call: 122-480 conservative
Battery <20%: 122-600 conservative
Normal setting: 122-600 ondemand
Tips and suggestions are welcome

Thanks. Problem for me is:
Setcpu not give possibility to set i/o to fly;
Nofrill // // to set profiles.
So, for now i use nofrill and all works flawlessy, always.

SetCPU best frequency settings

so I've been overclocking at 748800mhz, min and max, on the screen on profile which is perfectly stable. I tried overclocking at 768000mhz, min and max, and got random reboots approximately every 5 minutes. so, if I set the max to 768000 and the min to 748800, will it be stable?

Should be, what is your scaling set to? Try it with smartass or interactive.
it was set to performance, but ill try it on interactive!

Performance will keep it at the maximum all the time. If your phone cant handle the speed, it will freeze/boot loop until you change it. Try interactive and make a profile for when you plug your charger in, it drops down to 691.
What kind of battery life are you getting when you leave your cpu overclocked with both the min/max like that?
I typically do 245/710 for screen on but get 20-30hrs of battery life, is the battery hit not that much or are you just around a charger enough that you don't need to worry about it?

no. if your phone reboots at 768 it just can't handle the frequency. You should try clocking your min down a bit, like to 352 min screen on, it should help battery a bit and I doubt you'll notice a difference in performance. Also, if you apply the smartass governor it will do a few things your profiles do, so you won't need as many profiles. In the smartass gov, the max freq screen off is 352, and the min freq screen on is 518, so all you would need to set is a general profile like 245 min and 748 max, then the smartass gov will do the rest for you

I wouldn't worry about the website, just keep using that forum.
Is it better to just have one profile (like 710 max, 245 min) rather than two profiles, one for screen-on (528-710) and one for screen-off (245-352)? Also, is it better to use the ondemand governor rather than interactive or smartass?

I don't see smartass either. I'm running both the CMD kernel and rom. Is there a way to fix this?

[Q] an overclock question

hi guys so my question is this, when you flash the 782mhz kernal so what should i set max/min cpu frequency, govenors and i/o scheduler for best performance.and also is there a overclock kernal for cyanogenmod 7.2.0 rc4 beyond 782mhz.
i'm used max 782, min 122.
gov lagfree, i/o VR.
try different option,
it won't brick u'r phone.
don't worry.
sent from Nokia 3310
Currently there is no oc kernel beyond 782 for cm7.2. I use 782 with ondemandx and vr. The best for performance is minmax with vr. But it will consume your batt.

On demand means the processor will clock to whatever speed within the set parameters it needs to run smoothly. It will always try to run as low as possible while not compromising speed. This is generally the best option and there's little to no reason to change it. Unless you want to save as much battery as possible of course, then you could put it to energysaving. You really don't want maxperformance as that will drain your battery and give little to no advantage over ondemand
The other is the clockspeed of the CPU and should generally be left alone. Overclocking it too much can permanently damage your hardware. There is no cooling system, so increase it very conservatively. You should leave it at stock, unless things are being slow, but don't put it too high. The higher you put it, the faster it will process yes, but also the more energy it uses and therefore heat it creates. Too much exposure to heat will mean game over. Overclocking is also likely to lower the lifespan of your device.
Hope that helps

1.do not oc your device more than 800 mhz and use ondemand governor,
2 .use the inbuilt option to choose the frequency because app like set cpu use 4~5 mb of your ram (setting> cm setting> cpu setting)
3. try using adw ex launcher it uses 11 mb ram only avoide go launcher
4. create a swap partition of 512 mb and set swapiness to 80%
5. use only default android keyboard (ics android keyboard is better)
6. use task killer to kill ongoing useless task time to time
7. do not use much widget at the same time
I remember mebitek or yagya or some other famous dude said that moving cache to sd card slows your device down..?
I set JIT off, and VM heap to 24. Also oc to 710 MHz, phone works like a charm. But i don't play games, i just want the phone to be snappy. I think the vm heap might cause fc's for bigger applications, at least playstore always force closes when i had VM heap at 16.. but otherwise the phone was really responsive with 16.
Battery is also good with those settings. Please correct me if i'm somehow mistaken!

Just leave min cpu freq to 245, yes.
Also, if your kernel has Smartassv2 or Lilgv2 available, use those instead, they're better for Mini than stock Ondemand.

(FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE IN CM9):-
go to settings
1)developer option-mark Gpu rendering ,windows animation &transitin animation as 0.5,mark kill app back button.
2)performance-use 16 bit,processor lilg as governor at max710(u don't see much flickers)
3)use apex launcher as default .(push it in to ur system-apps)

[Q] how to improve battery live on cm7 squadzone?

can some one tell me how to improve battery live on my galaxymini, im using cm 7 from squadzone. thans before guys...........
hahaha.....
u can tr many things to improve battery life.....
1.> callibrate your battery..
2.> download battery saving apps like juice defender or battery save from google market..
3.> if you have wifi, avoid using 3G on your phone..
4.> if you use only 2G network, select the USE ONLY 2G option in wireless and network settings.
5.> set brightness level to 25% (or more if u have EYESIGHT problems )
But the battery life depends on frequency of your CPU in squadzone's cm7.I recommend frequency of about 710 MHz for longer battery life.

710 MHz is for better performance... for better battery, v shud keep it at 600 MHz or infact lower it to 480 MHz .
i dont need any donations... ;-) but i do need THANKS to my posts...
I think set the cpu speed 480 MHz Max at screen off is good. Won't reduce performance so much, and save your battery.
If you're using setcpu then create your profiles for different conditions. And also when you're on mobile you should have 710MHZ(thread is for cm7) ,if you don't need that then its better to be on stock ROM
Sent from my GT-S5570 using Tapatalk
Use only 2g
Reduce brightness to min
Use juice defender
Set min freq to 122mhz and max freq to 600mhz or below
Use 3g or wifi as less as possible
Set min screen off freq to 122mhz
When not using the phone, choose the cpu governer as powersave
While sleeping, if u think u won't get any calls put the phone in flight mode.
Use scripts like v6 supercharger etc to set OOM values to aggressive so that memory is free and less apps are running. This greatly helps.
Use cpu monitornig apps to see which apps are running in background. If they are unnecessary, uninstall them.
Turn off wifi,3g,2g, gps, etc when not in use.
Funny thing is that 122-480 mhz freq. use same voltage , witch means they consume same battery.

My suggestion
well, based on my self, I've set the CPU using conservative in government, 710MHz in max. clock, 245 in min clock and sio in I/O scheduler and that really save my battery
What average battery life you get.
Sent from my GT-S5670 using Tapatalk
I have like 10% drop per hour and half usage. And no drain at all in deep sleep. Noticed that min clock doesnt matter same as max clock between 600 - 768.

What about changing the rom? Is that an option? If yes and you want to stay with cm7.2 then mebiteks latest rc0 or rc1 are an option.
Maybe the new cyanmobile from squad could also be an option.

help me please

hi all
i have installed prime hd 9 with custom kernel i want to exactly know at what min and max CPU frequency should i keep for good high speed performance which is stable i kept some frequency at random and it was not that much speed it slowed my phone and in what governor should i keep
I personally dont recommend doing anything with your CPU because from my experience I didnt see so much difference and speeding up your CPU will make you battery drain faster and you CPU will reach highier temps. For the governor I use the performance one because it is constantly keeping the clocks on the highest set values. It makes the phone work smoother and while changing clocks its slowing the phone down. You can try and look for every governor meaning but I recommend the performance one. To monitor the temps use SetCPU`s widget.
