[Q] CM7 works ok!!! - LG Optimus Black

Can anyone say to me if the cm7 works right in the OB???
Is really good or has many bugs...
Think cm7 works in android 2.3. and OB has 2.2 based, I really don't understand ???
Thanks friends

Yeah, it has few bugs and nothing too unbearable. But my biggest issue is when the phone is disconnected from the computer it gets really slow, but when it is it is really good so... I wouldn't recommend you to flash CM7 yet, wait for the final version or atleast wait for this to be fixed.

Thanks mate, I think I'm going to wait to the cm7 people to improve it

[Q] LG O2X Weird Behavior

Hi to all, well a friend of mine gave me a LG Optimus 2X with the Stock rom on it (10d). The phone is very slow at everything. While listening mp3 for example and try to read at the same time my tweets or my mails or trying to open the browser the phone becomes unresponsive for a while. The same goes while on browsing the market! The phone performs worst than any android phone i have ever had!
Any workround? Please help.
Thanks in advance

So there is nothing wrong with the Phone (with the hardware)? It is Just the stock ROM in it?
Yeah, stock ROM is pretty bad really. You should notice a marked improvement by leaving it.

Agreed. The stock roms for the optimus 2x aren't that great. Try experimenting with rooting and different roms (I recommend topogogi's rom and kernel since those are the most stable at the moment). If you don't know how to do it then ask, there are a lot of people in this forum willing to help the people who are new to this kind of stuff

Yes that's exactly what i did! But for starters i installed modaco's FR19. It seems pretty good and stable so far. Now the phone is really fast! Are Topogigi or CM better than the one i installed?
Use a custom rom now!!

Probably a stupid question but I'm curious.
Is it possible to run the Facelock that ICS has on a SGS i9000?

only if you run onecosmic's ICS rom ...
still to be implemented in latest build of CM9 (teamhacksung)
won't work on non-ICS roms
ah i should have guessed, is that the only rom that it will work with for the time being or?

I don't think it'll work anytime for non-ICS roms (though if some dev decides then anything can happen )
it'll be implemented in CM9 for sure.. (it was working till Build 9)
Yup you need to flash the newest ics but you really shud try it if u didn't, its pretty cool
I know I sound really stupid but what is the newest?
I mean I look in the Dev section and I see quite a few roms with ICS in the title and I dont want to pick one that is crappy

The two latest ones are build 11 from teamhacksung and RC1 from oncecosmic .. both based on android 4.0.3 .... my personal opinion is trying out onecosmic's.. I have tried both and like this one better and much more stable and with more features...
Alrighty If I can find his thread I'll try it
I couldn't find it last time i looked though!
Edit: I'm a moron and looked properly and found it

Where go we go from here?

Ok , so old news is that eMMC was discovered and it killed a million Gnotes.....
A lot of people moved to GB Stock or Rooted ROMS , some moved to CM9 based ROM's and a lot stayed behind on ICS Stock in the hope that the Kernel fix would magically show up and they will be saved.
Then there were a couple of more ICS releases and one unworthy GB release in a few countries and some people moved to these newer ROMS for the pure purpose of trying the new ROMS as well as hoping that the troubled Kernel is now at rest..
All while this was happening Samsung decided to release the Kernel sources for Devs to look and play with ...
So , a lot happened in Gnote world over the past month or so ,,,my question is
where do we go from here :
In my knowledge , eMMC bug is still anybody's guess even thou great devs are looking at it (my respect) but nothing's sure yet. Then thr's the usual anxiety to move to ICS again for those who moved back to GB .
I wanted to know what everyone is feeling and doing with thr Notes in these interesting times , are they still keeping thr fingers crossed and using ICS , are they moving to GB , are they moving to newer releases of ICS , are ppl rooting a lot more in order to be safe and at the same time enjoy CM9 based ROMS?
Do Share .....
I love CM9 based Roms. I would be enjoying them even without the eMMC debacle.

Checking it out ,,,Stable enuf for daily use?
Well i must be one of the few that didn't run back to GB, mainly becasue i'm afraid that "thebug bites me"..
I think that sammy is going to release an update to fix this (maybe in the year xxxx) but untill i don't get too many problems i will stay on ICS (LPY). Only problem i encountered so far i that i have a bigger battery consumption, less ram to work with.
Untill now have been reading a lot and didn't do any wipes or factory reset, again i did do things through kies and no root installed. Untill some bugs are solved and as difficult as i find it i will not flash any custom rom...... There are some really nice ones out here......................temptation, temptation!!

Covers all my daily needs nicely. And I've had no SODs at all.
htc was better option in this regards.
Even Nobe can understand and everything is in one place. this much big bug for rooting never expected

Yea, that is a wise idea if u are not sure whether it wud sucessfully downgrade to GB or not ,,,but then again senior members lke Entropy have been saying that move to GB asap so ...
hahah yea xxxx with SG4 probably
Yea , me too was always short of RAM when was on LPY ,,,but i decided to take a plunge back in GB land and did manage sucessfully without breaking my device ,,thank god for that!!

In Samsung's defence...

Playing the devils advocate here but in Sammy's defence , this too is the first time something like this has cropped up if memory serves.....and then i guess they tried to control the situation somehow by releasing the Kernel sources..

CM7 on N7000?

Is there a Cyanogenmod 7 (Gingerbread 2.3.7) for N7000?
Nope, there are ROMs based on TW gingerbread though,I personally have never used them though.

If you get the kernel working, and a successful build, that would be quite interesting. Good luck.

No worries :]
Have you tried GT-N7000_GB_Opensource_Update2.zip ?
Looks good enough to build. What toolchain did you use?
Hi victorator,
If you can pull this off mate, you will be a LEGEND!!!!
I too am after summit like this, and I have trailled all over the forums trying to find ANY kind of GB rom that I can flash/install via CWM.
But so far all the links are either dead, or point towards viruses now!!!
If you can make a clean CM7, or know any decent GB roms that I can look into and rip parts of the TW out... that would be AMAZING!!!!
Good luck, really hoping you can do this!!!
Cheers, Lister
Good luck mate !
I'd love to see CM7 on Note and remind old gingerbread times
Good luck! Hope you'll make it!
I don't have the N7000 but I will get it next week.
In the mean time can someone test my AOKP jb-mr2 build?
http://goo.im/devs/victorator/AOKP_N7000
It's android 4.3.1
Please report if it works
Hi @victorator,
Is there any development, news on this pure CM7 rom for our Note's???
I know your working hard on newer roms, but would be cool to have a retro rom too.. Especially as I gained my Note later on, so missed out on all the Gingerbread roms... and having loved CM7 on my ZTE Blade. Would be cool to see what its like on N7000 too...
Good luck, hope all is well...
Lister
Hey man,
I'm sorry but I don't think I will be able to get CM7 running. Back in the day CM used a prebuilt kernel file. That's why I won't be able to compile it myself as they haven't put out the kernel for it.
I would love to give CM7 a go on the note as well but I don't have enough knowledge on the subject to get it to work.
Hi All,
Still think this would be an awesome feat, if ever it did come to our Notes. Sure it's old, sure... No one will prolly use it much afterwards anyway...
But heck, a lot of us grew up on what was the first main CM build (excluding CM6?? lol) aka, CM7 (Gingerbread).
Does anyone have the skills to help @victorator or others, get past the kernel issue and help build a CM7 rom. Apparently (although cannot confirm myself) that the S2 phone had a CM7, and "apparently" similar hardware...
Anyone got the know-how, to make this happen....??
Thanks, Lister
Main thing would be the kernel

Hi All,
It would appear CM7 for the N7000 already exists.... and it was developed here, by someone on this very forum... But I have been searching high and low for it, and I canny find it....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note/help/cm7-android-2-3-7-n7000-existed-one-t2902446
Does anyone know who did it, or it's where abouts... Or those, who had this device in the early days still have a copy of it floating around on their HDD that they could re-upload?? As it seems the link in the source site, is now dead...
Cheers, Lister
