[Q] Is it possible to make the menus smaller? - HTC Sensation XL

Hi to all...
I`m just having the dilemma to sell the phone or keep it...
The only thing I don`t like about the phone is that due to the really big screen, many menus and gui elements are extremely big... In the Sense it seems ok, but for example market and buttons are to big, like for an old people with bad sight...
Is it possible to make all the elements smaller, so more information can be displayed?
Thanks for the answers

Its possible with root.. With some software which change your lcd density..

you just have to wait for root to be released then it should be sorted

changing popup keyboard-fontsize-for better reading

hello everybody, i just flashed my ba with the wm 6,1+manila from d-two.
everithing works fine but i want to change the popup keyboard to one that i can use with my fingers.
also my eyes are very bad so i need everithing bigger, the icons, the text under the icons all the letters.
i tried sk tools but it doesnt change everithing.
i would need everiting a lot bigger, lets say as big so it just fits the screen, including the popup menus, the start list and everithing else.
is there a way?
thanks a lot
you cannot change the standard soft keyboard in that way, you need to install another soft keyboard. you find several ones in the "read first" link in my signature, they are all finger friendly, small in size and free, also there are screenshots provided which give you a good feeling of the general looks and feel of it.
thx a lot, but now i still have the prob that the device is nearly unreadable for my eyes, so i still have to make everithing bigger and with more kontrast, lets say black background, bigger fonts and white fonts....
any suggestions?

[Theme] [QVGA Landscape] [Standard 6.1|6.5] Smartphone Revitalize Sliding Panel Theme

Hi guys,
So I'm one of those guys still living in the dark age of Windows Mobile Standard. I don't see many good themes posted for good ole non-touchscreen phones, so I thought I'de give it a shot.
Critiques are encouraged!
More information to come...
Requirements
Windows Mobile Standard 6.1 or 6.5
QVGA Landscape device
Installation
After unzipping, look at the folder names for instructions
.
i have broke my last smartphone a while ago (and now all my smartphones are died)
but imo your theme is perfect and nice... very cool text on screen (great chars, slim font)
i love the themes without useless icons ^^
maybe you could add a titanium slider (or only an underlined graphic to the active panel)
the page counter is a little "oldish" maybe you could redesign it and move to another position
and for least a thing (i think is impossible): make the long titles of panels sticking/sliding to read the whole text in it (e.g. in the calendar panel you could read only the first part of the appointment infos, if u get it orrizontal sliding you could read it all like the music info panels) but for me this is impossible
so now i haven't a device to test it, but i like, nice job! thanks to sharing

are you still living in the dark age of Windows Mobile Standard? i wish that times return for me
i miss my old winmo NONtouch... actually i hate to have to tap with my finger on these little display (e.g. i was texting on my htc wings 50sms/hour , now my frineds joke me cuz it seem that i cannot write in a correct italian language...)
non touchscreen are the best phones imo but actually they are lost in the old technologies limbo... and i doubt thay could come out again...

Thanks for the compliments!
I'm working on adding a titanium slider right now to see how it looks, but I designed it to not require a slider. Text on the currently selected panel is white and text on unselected panels is transparent.
I'm still trying to figure out what (if anything) I'm going to do with the page counter.
As for the long titles extending off the page... well that was sort of the goal. It was inspired by the Zune HD and Windows Phone 7 interface. 99% of the time it shows enough text for you to understand, and in the rare case you do need to see more you can always click it. I think horizontal scrolling/sliding for long text would be really cool, but I have no idea (yet) how to make that happen. If anyone know a way to do this, let me know.
i see...
the orizzontal sliding for the title is a "higher sky" and personally the cropped title text is cool
and i love the zunehd inspi.
apps and web apps panels are fantastic
(a suggestion, for the counterpage maybe you could remove the numbers and left only the arrows, white for the next page, transparent if no page avalaible)
all my compliments
I created a version with a slider. If any smartphone users make it in here and would like me to post it just let me know.
Hi gtg456x. I got a new touch phone recently because my contract for the BJ2 was up. I've always loved the performance of Sliding panel plugin, and I can't wait to try this theme. It looks uncluttered, so I think I can finally put some wallpapers that didn't used to work on the standard icon-filled theme. Thanks for sharing and for reviving my interest in the BJ2 phone
this is an awesome theme....it's too bad that I don't know how to apply anything that isn't a .cab file!
I know your probably thinking I'm stupid, but I have no idea of how to install this theme onto my blackjack 2. It looks so great, and I would really like to use it on a daily basis. Please Help!!!

I have install before the titanium panels?
With a black background and this theme is terrific. Almost Zune-esque. Thanks! Here's a screen
how to install a certain part?
can u please point me the way how to install the files that are in...
Optional images for link panels (you will have to create your own to match your links)
i have managed to install all the rest but need some help.
Now if you would port the landscape cpr to a portrait cpr, I would be happy, because I wouldn't have to do it myself (although I made myself a similar theme a couple of months ago, but I didn't release it to the public )...
like it about to put it on my jack

Looks like you forgot to install the font though.
Wasn't expecting this thread to get revived. Shouldn't be too hard to make it into a cab file for those who are having trouble.
blee
i know you should had posted this in the windowsmobile standard section you would had got so many people here instead of windowsmobile touch screen section .Its mostly a touch screen section then for both touch and type of phones.

[Q] can we change the resolution of Gnote to 600*1024 (just like galaxy tab)

hi friends...
as we all know gnote has 800*1200 resolution
its quite big there are many application which doesn't fit on screen properly
i hv galaxy tab also, all apps fit perfec on screen
(i know there are some density changer on market but they alll need root to do so
but i dont want to root my gnote)
so plz tell me how can i decrease my resolution to 600*1024
and if it can be decreasd is there any prob with apps (like apps goes out of screen)
thanks
sorry for my english
Any one plz
newhunt app, spb mobile shell is not displaying in correct way
plz any thing that can solve my prob
It's impossible to do this. You should just root it and change the density.
Has anyone tried it???
I think if I do so.... main menu gonna has some kind prob because it has 5*5 icon set
Tell me if I can make it 5*4
Is there any way to do this
Thanks in advance
The Resolution is a physical attribute of the screen - you cannot change it by software. You could probably emulate a different resolution but it would look unsharp and crappy.
Instead you should do what SilverHedgehog suggests and change LCD density - search for LCD density to find out more.
I use launcher pro, and there is a option to change rows/columns to your desired number, don't know if this helps, it's obviously dependent on hour launcher, but thought I'd chime in.

If you have a laptop, or a PC with an LCD monitor, try setting the resolution to something non-native and marvel at how crappy it looks.
Then consider how your Note's screen would look if you could do the same.
Regards,
Dave
Thanks guys for your precious suggestions
Actually I hv galaxy s2 and galaxy tab n both has perfect screen resolution
All apps working perfect... no screen resolution glitch in apps working
I think I should wait for ice cream sandwich update
Thanks again
Feel free for More suggestions

[Q] Screen resultion (not dpi) change?

Can I change the screen resolution of my s3 mini in any way? i changed them with app settings (xposed) in facebook and facebook messenger (but i guess it's kind of the dpi then?? or maybe not??) anyway, in those apps the icon's are most the same size just the images are more sharp etc. pretty cool!! um... maybe i could change the jellybean main app to a higher resoltion by app settings?
i tried custom dpi already, it seems like the screen doesn't really get sharper other than on the resoltion change in facebook!
thanks guy!
jellybean (surface) didn't make any changes excerpt a crooked lockscreen so far so i'm now at "touchwiz-start" which crashed 2times checking if i find a higher resolution though.. this is definitely one of the apps i need to change...:good:
did some more changes now i need to restore nandroid.. not going to continue trieng until somebody can give me an answer if it's possible.. lol thanks

[Q] Overlapping text and icons in status bar solutions?

Hey guys. So one problem I've been trying to find a solution for is I like allot of information in my status bar but I have so much in it I keep running into the issue of the text and icons overlapping. For example when I use Wanams setting to center the clock allot of things overlap or when I try to add more and nothings overlapping it whatever is on the right side just runs off the screen. Is there a way to create maybe a marquee style where I could add as much I wanted and just have anything that runs off the screen in the status bar constantly scroll across? Currently running Firekat v6.
First possible solution listed here by another member, didn't work though, fishing for more ideas...

Bro I thing your font just sux... change the font or the size of it. See attachment.
Yeah man I know it is a little on the bold side but I kinda like it, other than changing the font I'm thinking there's gotta be another way because no matter what the font someone could have too much up there and be facing the same situation....

At least you could make the font smaller and honestly I don't know a mod to make the icons scrollable..
I found this but not sure if it works or if it can help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546180
Hmm, well just noticing how when the network speed indicator changes everything to the right of it expands to the right and the contracts back, wondering if that could placed on the left and tweaked to pull everything on the right smoothly to the left, then repeat... Not trying to kang though
Lol like pac man in your status bar? That's a fun idea
