[Q] How to install default semc input keybord in custom rom - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all.
I am running FroyoBread 0.25 on my xperia X8. It's wonderful rom in my opinion but, i want to ask you if there is a way to install the original Sony Ericsson keyboard on it. It have Android Keyboard, (LatinIME) installed and HTC-ime. The second is for the trash for me, and Android Keyboard is very good but i think that the stock keyboard is the best. I've managed to extract it from my Original Rom backup and installed it. But when I try to activate it, I get a crash error. So is there somebody to help me in this. Thank you in advance.

U can try froyo pro v1.1.
Its the same as the rom ur using (which is racht's floyo v0.25).
It got stock keyboard and a bit more modification...

Edit: And is the stock keyboard included and the other modifications
Edit: Ok don't bother to answer me i took a look on the change log. Well I am downloading it and I am going to install it because look COOL. And the most inportant, the froyo unlock sliders are transparent

[Q] Help on reverting theme

I installed the HTC_vs_GALAXY_S - SENSE THEME - Beta 0.2 theme @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769274&page=3 and I tried to revert back to the original touchwiz home using their revert method, and I couldn't. I forgot to do a backup using nandroid, or something like that, and any help would be greatly appreciated. No Offence to the developer, of course, he did a great job but the theme doesn't really fit me and i really want to go back. I was unrooted at the time of install and recently rooted my device with the theme on. I tried to exactly use the way they tell me and it didn't work. II have a GT-I9000running the official JM1 firmware that came from kies. Please Help, thank you
anybody, please?
I also wondered this which is why I only use custom docks and icons in launcher pro. I'm guessing you have to do a fresh flash using odin, sorry buddy.

[Q] All about Sony w8

Dear all,
Could you guide me sources and/or infos related to Sony w8? I cannot find dedicated forum for this phone. Since it is almost the same to Sony x8, I post my question in this forum. All I want to know is as follow.
1. How to root w8
2. Custom froyo built ROM with wifi tethering support
3. Other tips and tricks
If you can answer or know where I can go for, please help show them.
It is a good smart phone at its value. I bought it at USD190 which is $20 more than x8. But I love glossy black in front and glossy orange back over.
Thanks,

x8 and w8 is the same phone with same software and hardware but different color..you can root it same as x8 and use x8 custom froyo or gingerbread rom..but native wifi tethering is not supported by any rom but you can use barnacle wifi tether from market.
1. Root tutorial
You may use X8's super1click with no problem.
2. I am not sure, try the x8 custom rom if you dare.
3. Just root and use link2sd,it is enough for you daily use, these are what i can say.
Thanks. I will try superoneclick to root my device. I will not dare to install custom ROM for x8 since they are optimized for it only. I will wait till some friends develop one for w8. Link2SD is something I am considering now if I have to wait for froy built or to try it with current 2.1.
try to use ROM X8 in W8
I've tried to use ROM's X8 into my phone W8. Flash result is OK but it doesn't working properly, my SIM card doesn't work. It always change to airplane mode. So Who can fix this problem???
Which ROM are you using?
Are your mobile carrier locked?
ROM for Sony ericsson W8

go to dev tools and try crashing system
I want to try but I don't have any experience in modding ROM
Superoneclick is not working with my w8. Even it shows success rooting but no root permission. Su command is not working and su running test by superoneclick is also not responding. Superuser is there but useless. Can somebody guide me new ways? I want to install app2sd as soon as possible.

[Q] How to install newer version of Contacts?

I finally decided and installed custom ROM onto my X8. GingerXperia V20.
Only to find out that it uses Contacts app from Android 2.1 and that was the reason for installing custom ROM in the first place.
The ROM it self is great so I would like to stay with it.
Is there a way to install newer version of Contacts app? The one that has sort by last name option! I'm still puzzled by fact that someone forgot to put this option.
Thanks!
Help, I'm looking for your ROM

[Q] Update/Upgrade GingerDX on X8

Hello Community,
I've installed a time ago GingerDX v22
on my Xperia X8. Now theres a new Version out (v24).
I wanted to ask if I should update/upgrade the
version on my phone just with the option Install update.zip
or should I do it like the first installation with full wipe and so on...
And if I should the update.zip will it kill my data and my apps installed on?
Thanks for quick answers that will help.
Greets xdix
PS.: Sorry for my bad english if it is bad... xD
------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've just tried it.
At my phone it worked without full wipe.
But but I think not everywhere it will work so fine. But if
you don't want to lose all your data (e.g. apps)
just try it. But without warranty that it will work so...

You don't need to make full wipe if you are just updating the version of the ROM. If you are changing the ROM, then a full wipe is needed.
Can you please tell me how it's working, cuz im on GingerDX v022 and i wanna try v024

[Q] Bootloop after flashing GingerDX 2.5

Hello to all.
This is my first post on this wonderfull community.
So far i´ve just been reading a lot of material, since i´ve recently just adquired my first android phone, a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, with synaptics chip.
I already read enought to be able to root my device, unlock my bootloader, and tried some custom roms and custom kernel.
I have x8tools final and flashtool all setled up.
I tried nAa custom kernel and his android 4.1.2 rom (MiniCM10), but i find it to be much heavier than the stock rom, so i went back.
Now i´ve been reading about FroyoPro, which is a continuation of FroyoBread by dxoinha, and some users said their phones got even faster than they were at stock rom, so i really wanted to try it out. Plus it would be nice to have some Gingerbread features, android 2.1 is so feature scarce.
But i cound´t install it, kept getting this message:
(bad)
installation aborted
I checked md5 for the downloaded file, it´s integrity was ok, but still the file wouldn´t install.
So while i was searching for an anwser to my problem, i discovery GingerDX by TeamFun, which is a continuation of GingerDX by dxoinha, using android 2.3.7, suposedly very fast as well.
So i got insterested in this ROM, downloaded it and it installed wihtout any problems, but now i have eternal bootloop.
i´m currently using stock kernel, and i made a full wipe / system / data before i installed GingerDX.
What could be the issue here?
To be honest any possible solution to either my problem with FroyoPro setup or the GingerDX issue would be great.
All i want is a more featured android with the same speed than the stock rom.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
