[Q] Anyone had V20h stock rom for LG Optimus 2x SU660 (Korean Model)? - LG Optimus 2x

anyone had the new V20h stock rom for LG Optimus? I only found the SU660(Optimus-2X)_Android_GingerBread_V20h source code from LG
lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensource-detail.jsp?detailCustomerModelCode=LGSU660
Do any of you compiled this into a stock rom?
Because there is already a CyanogenMod 7.1 port for SU660 but it needs V20h stock rom installed
see code.google.com/p/open2x/downloads/detail?name=update-cm-7.1.0-Optimus2X-SU660-KANG-signed-fixed.zip

I think this kang has no bugs.
It works fine on my su660.
But the kernel is not stable yet.
I heard he (open2x builder) resolved almost all issues.
I'm looking forward to his new kernel.

How did you manage to install, what version of clockworkmod did you use?
I removed assert error by removing the first line in the updater-script
I managed to install it but it goes to a loopless boot animation of cyanogen logo
the installation logs show something similar to these:
set_perm: chown of /system/etc/install-recovery.sh to 0 0 failed: No such file or directory
I already rooted the device using nvflash and installed busy box thru busy box installer in the android market.

P990's int sdcard partition number is 9 ,but su660's is 10.
I think some errors on cwm(for p990) were due to this difference.
But cwm 4.0.0.5 and 3.0.1.5 worked fine on su660. (these support only ext sd)
Try this.

thanks, kitty's_daddy
I managed to install CyanogenMod 7.1 using ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.1.4 (Modaco R1) using an apk that I found on a korean website. I attached it to this post so that people who have SU660 can install it also.
I installed the CyanogenMod Kang nightly from code.google.com/p/open2x/downloads/list
and it works perfectly except for the camera screen size seems to be in portrait mode or doesn't occupy the phone's screen (having black borders on the screen) but the pictures taken are good. I installed other CyanogenMod for SU660 like cm_su660_full-184.zip that i found from a vietnamese website but it is very buggy and the phone shuts down itself randomly while the update-cm-7.1.0-Optimus2X-SU660-KANG-signed-fixed.zip from open2x seems stable and worked perfectly except for the camera size that doesn't fill up the whole screen. Is there a tweak fix for the camera size like a config to modify perhaps inside the system files? I tried to replace the camera.apk from the system and replace it with the camera from cm_su660_full-184.zip but the screen size is still the same.

I have seen this app, but it is paul's recovery app.
Don't share. It's not free.
And you can fix camera with replacing system/lib/hw/overlay.tegra.so from original CM nightly.

thanks kitty's_daddy, I installed the latest kang build and it seems stable now, they fixed the camera and fixed also the in-call bug when making a phone call and fix the mp3 and audio problems . I have no problems with this cyanogemod port for SU660. Open2x uploaded a new kernel too that fixes the black screen bug on the phone

You can root your su660 with Rusty's awesome nvflash script like p990.
Check here.
And you must change cwm.img if you want restore or back up on su660.
Also CM-kang for su660 was made by open2x kernel builder. here.
All link and the reason is in this thread.

thanks kitty's_daddy one more thing is there a way than i can use my KTF SHOW USIM card cuz' Ive tried already the kyuHyuk rom KTF usim still not working

I don't know about kyuhyuk rom. I think it is cheat mod.
If you want to install original CM nightly onto su660, you must delete first line in updater-script.
=> assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "p990" ~~
It checks device to prevent bricking.
I recommend CM-kang-for su660 with open2x kernel.
And what's your cwm version?

i use the 3.0.1 cmw and i use this "update-cm-7.1.0-Optimus2X-SU660-20111126-KANG-signed.zip" and put it to my external sd card but everytime i try to use this update zip it gives an error saying " update aborted blah...blah..

You must use paul's 3.0.1.4 or 4.0.0.5 onto su660.

I don't know why it couldn't. It worked fine.
Backup and factory reset, then try install again.
Also, would you upload updater-script at here?
Ps:
Do you know that CM7 is ext4 rom?
If you want to restore stock rom, then you need backtoext3.
You had better copy this into your sd card.

I did back up/ factory reset and tried install few times , but receiving error each time:

I suggest this way.
Extract update zip file.
And open \META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script with notepad++ .
Delete first line all (assert(getprop("ro.product.device") ~ ~ == "su660"); ).
Save & exit.
Zip extracted folder with non-compressed option. (I recommend to use 7zip.)
Try install again.

[ROM][Stock][ICS]LG P990 v28g Stock ICS flashable zip by harsh & tonyp [DISCONTINUED]
LG P990 Stock ICS flashable zip [DISCONTINUED]

This ROM is discontinued.
If you're looking for a stable ROM I recommend this ROM as an alternative: ParanoidAndroid CM10
It's more up-to-date and smoother than Stock ROMs - but at the same time still rock stable and qualifies as a daily driver.
If you want to continue using a Stock ROM on the GB bootloader I'd recommend to use the updated and actively maintained v30a/b Stock ROM by rugglez.
Some of the work of this ROM went into it - especially the heavily reworked ramdisk.
Using this ROM with the kowalski oldbl kernel does work as well (and fixes the callbug).
I've never intended to support a Stock ROM in the long term - I prefer CM based ROMs by far.
The initial intention of the first version of this ROM was to provide an easy way for people to test the SU660 leaks - back when we didn't even have P990 ICS leaks.
Nowadays that's easy, thanks to tools like the AIO toolbox by spyrosk, but back then it was more complicated for the users - especially with a SU660 ROM as base.
Then harsh & I decided to work on it together and update the initial SU660 base to a P990 v28 one.

A big thanks to harsh with whom I've been working closely together.
What is this?
This is a flashable zip version of the official LG v28g ROM by LG.
It's a Stock LG Android 4.0.4 ROM which uses the default ("old") bootloader and stock ("old") partition layout.
I prefer to stick with the GB layout and old bootloader as pretty much all ROMs, including CM10, are build for that.
If you have used the NVFlash ICS ROM you need to go back to the GB partition layout.
There are two versions. The standard version will fit into the stock GB partition layout.
To make it fit in there we had to remove some apps, including LGEmail, LG Calendar, LGMemo (QuickMemo is still there, don't worry) etc.
If you want to have the full ROM you can use the extended version, but need to increase the /system partition size to 512mb+ beforehand (see here for instructions).
Note that by only changing the partition size the partition layout won't change - so you still can flash other ROMs like CM10.
What's working?
This ROM is considered stable. harsh and I are using it as a daily driver currently!
Full hardware accelleration including:
Working Videocamera
Google Chrome
Videodecoding
etc.
In-call audio
Playstore
LG UI 3.0 & LG 4x lockscreen (THE MOST demanded feature in every dev thread )
Bluetooth
2G/3G
FM Radio
Everything else you can expect from a stable ROM (data, wifi, sms etc.)
What's not working?
slow charging on usb computer connection. Wall charger does work.
Workaround: Power off phone, attach usb cable, boot.
Screenshots (Power + Vol down) are empty. Just use Quickmemo (Vol up + down).
LG Application Manager not fully working and thus not included
The call issue of CM10 ROMs is present for some people.
If you reboot the phone once a day (e.g. at the morning) it usually won't occur during the whole day.

Due to the continuous misunderstanding: This ROM requires you to run the GB (aka the "old") bootloader and partition layout.
If you flashed a ICS ROM (kdz etc.) with NVFlash you need to go back to the old layout and bootloader, for example with this tool:
[TOOL] Full Brick Repair (Clean & Easy)http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975274
If you're coming from CM7, CM10, PA, GB (Android 2.3) Stock ROMs etc. this warning does not affect you.
Note:
I fixed the error which required you to use CWM 5.0.2.x for this ROM so you can now use any recovery you want now.
I'd recommend the official CWM 6.0.1.5 Touch or the newest TWRP.
How to install the new CWM:
You can use the ROM Manager to install CWM. But you need ROM Manager premium (or an in-app purchase for ~2$) to be able to flash CWM Touch with it.
You can use this flashable zip to install CWM 6.0.1.5 Touch easily: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34263577&postcount=1083
You can use my freshly zipped NVFlash CWM6 touch Recovery flasher (based on Rusty!'s method):
http://goo.im/devs/tonyp/P990-stuff/various/CWM6.0.1.5 touch NVFlash-tonyp.zip
Remove battery, hold both Vol - & Vol +, connect the phone to your notebook and use the "install_cwm6.bat" file (or the matching linux sh install script). APX driver is included.
This will flash CWM without touching any other partition.
Installation (follow carefully!):
Read post 1 and post 2 completely before you're doing anything with your phone!
If it doesn't exist, yet: Create the folder "external_sd" on your internal sdcard.
Reboot once.
Reboot into your recovery.
If you are coming from another ROM than my Stock ICS:
wipe data/factory reset(!)
Install zip from sdcard (flash the ROM)
Reboot (can take a couple minutes)
After fully booting up and going through the setup wizard: Restart your phone once again
Don't touch the RIL! And don't mind the "Unknown baseband" if everything works. This just means you got one of the older basebands which aren't displayed properly anymore. Nothing to worry about.
If automatic time if off you can either flash the v28g baseband (see my stickyied thread) or disable automatic time and use ClockSync.
Download:
standard version (fits into GB's /system partition):

Old installation instructions for versions prior to 3.0 (which was way more complex):
Installation (follow carefully!):
Read post 1 and post 2 completely before you're doing anything with your phone!
Create the folder "external_sd" on your internal sdcard.
You need to use ClockWorkMod 5.0.2.x
TWRP & CWM 6.x will result in encryption errors (something to investigate later)
use e.g. RomManager, scroll to the bottom, choose "older recoveries" and install 5.0.2.0
Backup your current ROM
wipe data/factory reset
mounts and storage - format /system
Install zip from sdcard (flash the ROM)
remove the usb cable from the mobile phone!
(if you boot with the phone connected to your PC the PC will either freeze or show you a bluescreen!)
Reboot (can take a couple minutes)
After the setup wizard go to Settings - Connectivity and change the USB connection type to MTP
(now you can attach the phone back to your PC).
Restart your phone
Don't touch the RIL! And don't mind the "Unknown baseband" if everything works. This just means you got an older baseband which aren't displayed properly.
If automatic time if off you can either flash the v28e baseband or disable automatic time and use ClockSync.
Thanks man.
i'll try this and feedback later
thx i'm test:good:

Damnit, I had it at the USB cable the whole time. I just realized the ROM will bsod when going into deep sleep.
This is a kernel issue due to the GB bootloader.
So this is mainly a "let's check out how ICS works" ROM at the moment
Doesn't deserve an own thread. I can't yet close my own thread, will have to ask a mod about it.
no go then
will check tomorrow for any news
dont worry, you did a amazing job by make it flashable
go get some sleep you deserve it and thanks you again for your hard work :good: :fingers-crossed:
unkown function "uassert"
I wanted to try this anyways(despite the BSOD issue). Installation aborted with (Status 6). Logs show
Code:
line 1 col 89: unknown function "uassert"
1 parse errors
I wiped data and was on CM9 PA rom before. Tried toggling script asserts in recovery but same results.
Let me know if I am missing something? [busybox maybe?]
Edit: Maybe this is a recovery issue, I am on 5.0.2.7, but never had this issue before with any other roms.
Fix: Just use the 0.81 build or modify the update-script as described in the post below.

This is a simple mistake I made resulting of me being tired.
I did some last minute modifications of the update-script file (to ensure no P999 or SU660 users try and install it) and unfortunately wrote uassert instead of assert.
You can either fix it yourself: Goto META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script and remove the first character (the "u").
Or download v0.81.
goo.im is a great hosting service and offers me remote ssh access via a linux terminal - so I just unzipped the ROM, fixed the line and rezipped it as v0.81. No need to re-upload
Please reply if it works.

Oh, goo.im slow again. A couple hours ago I had full speed.
If someone wants to provide a mirror feel free to do so, I'm out now really.
The v0.81 zip is untested, I hope it works the way I did the change remotely. If it doesn't use 0.80 and apply the manual fix I posted in my last post.
Open the updater-script with a texteditor like Notepad++.
Use build 0.81

thanx, i'll modify the update script and try. I also thought it should be assert but refrained on commenting lest you had defined your own macro.
Thank you for your hard work. :good:
Edit: Can confirm that modifying updater-script manually works. Using stock ICS now. Cheers.
Somebody who has installed it, could try running playing song through music player before screen lock?
Does music/song keep playing continuesly after screen locks and after 2-3 mins does the phone wakeup by pressing unlock key or still BSOD?

[L5][E610/E612] Discussion thread for Official CM10 Nightlies

By example of this thread, I thought it would be convenient to also create a separate thread for our L5. I will update this first post with relevant information and links when needed.
Info
CyanogenMod's site: http://www.cyanogenmod.org/
Announcement on Google+ by CM: link
Screenshots by luKi13223: link
Screenshots by Sirrocco with dpi lowered to 130 and theme applied: link
Requirements
Properly unlocked boot loader (here, a guide on top of first post)
Root/working CWM
Ability to read and common sense
Downloads
Nightlies started building. You can get the latest build from http://get.cm/?device=e610 OR http://10.cmxlog.com/?device=e610
CWM Recovery by Ricardo Cerqueira (CyanogenMod): Direct download. Alternatively you can download the flashable zip provided in the attachment, it's the same, but easier to install if you already had a recovery installed.
Google Apps (GAPPS) for Jelly Bean/CM10: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
Short Installations guide
Make sure you meet the requirements
Download needed files (see above) and place them on your internal sd card
Update your ClockWorkMod Recovery to v6.0.2.8 (you can do this by using terminal, adb (guide) or use the flashable zip I've attached
This will avoid status(7) error messages and prevent issues with ROM Manager.
Flash "cm-10-build date-NIGHTLY-e610.zip" from your internal sd card with CWM (or if you prefer with ROM Manager)
[*]Optional: Flash custom kernel by PinkFlozd: link to thread WARNING: Don't install this kernel with builds created on 21 april 2013 or later (at least not untill someone updates the kernel)
Optional: Flash "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip"
After first boot see if your receiving any signal (provided your normally have any signal on that spot). If not, don't worry, a simple reboot might fix it.
Enjoy
Bugs:
Considering these are the very first nightly builds of CM10 for our device, the dev did a pretty great job. Almost everything is working. Thanks to him :highfive:
Network / data is not working after 1st boot. A simple reboot after a few minutes might fix this
Multi-touch not fully working (dual touch works)?
SD card is full error, while there is still room left (up to at least 300 MB). I haven't experienced this bug in a while, it may be fixed, but I'm not sure.
Accelerometer
Small mods/Fixes
Wake with Home key
Pinkflozd's custom kernel[/COLOR]. Supports multi-touch and allows for overclocking. His kernel doesn't work with builds after April 14th
Overclocked kernel for builds made after April 14th

First install the recovery provide by CM. This will fix this problem. You will need to copy your flashables zips and back ups to the internal SD-card, because this version only mounts internal SD (instead of only the external)

I don't know if he will look here. We could inform him about it, when we have more clarity about the bugs.
My main purpose was to concentrate talk about CM10 in one place, because in the other thread also other subjects were discussed and it got messy. And we might help each other here with CM10 related problems.

The new nightly does seem to lag a little as opposed to the original one.
The first one was smoother I've noticed.
E617
Has anyone tried CM10 for the E617 version of the L5? I'm to much of a newb to try it myself, I wouldn't be able to find my way back if I screwed-up my phone.
Bootlop
Im on cm bootloop about 20 minutes WHEN THIS WILL BOOT UP
I noticed that this cm10 for e610 has a kind of problem with multitouch,I have played shadow gun, modern combat 3 and modern combat 4 and six guns and in all these 4 games, I noticed that I can't move at the same time that I shoot,I wait that they solve this problem in next updates ;p

E: I found out why there is a bootloop, we didn't took the right bootloader, see here my tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186161 - if you do everything like i did, everything will work properly
Use older build, idk - new is more bugged :/ Old working smarter than new.
OK, I've got it installed (nightly 20130310), first I installed the provided CWM (6.0.2.8), had to do that manually though, because for some reason Rom Manager destroyed the 6.0.2.5 version I had when I tried to install CWM through Rom Manager.
It's running smoothly, although I also see a little graining in the screen. I had no data issues.
Also, booting didn't take that long.
One strange phenomenon:
I had FreeL5 running before CM10. Before flashing CM10 I did a factory reset from CWM, cleaned cache and Dalvik cache. After booting CM10 for the first time, my WiFi settings were still there... hadn't expected that, but since I'm on a corporate WiFi connection which needs a username and password to connect, it was nice not to have to retype it :victory:

Previous devices:
HTC Desire - MIUI
HTC Desire HD - MIUI
Sony XPeria S - FreeXPeria JB
Current devices:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 - Stock JB (because my girlfriend doesn't want me 'messing' with it)
LG Optimus L5 (E610) - CM10 nightly
Bootloop too, any way to solve?

You can do several things:
If your adb is working, i think you can push latest cwm to recovery partition. Find dexters topic on how to do it, but instead of 6.0.2.8, download latest from cwm website and push it.
Alternatively, download zaiben rom, put it on sdcard ext and flash it, then use rom manager etc.
Another thing you can do is search for topic "fixed cm flashable", and flash that cm, then update to latest.
There is one more way, you can edit cm's zip and delete lines checking for device id.
Good luck

nightly cyanogen 10.2 rom is getting stuck installing

Hello,
I tried to update my galaxy s via the integrated update screen on cyanogen mod to todays nightly rom update but during the android install animation it got about a third through and then went into quick recovery screen data which i couldnt read and then rebooted but to my existing version...in other words it didnt install properly.
Can anyone guide me through how to get this to update properly?
Thanks
Pete F
A few nightlies ago there was a bug in the integrated CM-updater...
Have you tested it with download the zip-file ,put it on your device and flash it via CWM-Recovery ??? That`s my favorite way ...

It should work ,but i know with some of CM10.2-nightlies there was a bug and pawitp (the dev) makes a warning not to use the inbuilt updater ...but i think with the last nightlies it should work ...my way is flashing over CWM with the zip-file and not "over the air" ...
Is there any error?

SOLVED
Thanks for your help.
I managed to flash via CWM and now everything is great - and it sorted out my earlier problems which included lack of mobile internet, constant rebooting when turning on and problems with receiving sms texts.
For all those people having similar problem - here are the easy steps to get the new nightly 10.2 rom up and running on your Galaxy S:
1) Download the latest zip file for nightly ROM and latest GAPPS zipp file onto your computer.
2) Connect your mobile to computer and turn on the storage function so that you can see your phone's storage option on my computer.
3) Copy your 2 zip files from above to your phone's storage as zip files without extracting.
4) unplug your phone from the PC, turn off and then go into CWM via volume down/home and power buttons.
5) Select install zip from SD Card and then you should see error message something like 'partition is incorrect/different and you need to wipe data - don't worry about this as you will keep all your apps, ringtones, pictures etc.
6) Install zip from SD card a second time - this should now start the install process. Install the GAPPS file once this is done.
7) Reboot and you should be faced with a Cyanogenmod registration page. Go through the completion process and then your ready to go.
8) check in about phone in your settings to see the latest update in your settings.
I hope this works for you all but as always...this is what worked for me on my Galaxy S and any mod is at your own risk and I wont accept any abuse.

How to solve random reboots and other issues in Lollipop ROMs in S2 hd lte

UPDATED
Since these issues have been fixed in newer builds but as a s2 hd lte users, we have no option but to use older builds which have many issues. I found a workaround for them. If you are having wifi or other radio related issues, contact the ROM developer. This post can't help you. Flashing latest baseband helped me and could work well for you as well. Lets talk about two of the most common bug that haunts our device
1 Apps auto closing->( only for LMY48G builds,if you have newer builds, just flash gapps and reboot. to check go to about phone-> build number)
This is a webview related bug.
Download latest gapps from opengapps.org.
I prefer aroma installer as smaller packages don't have webview included, which will make the bugs worse.
Flash gapps. Dont forget to select 'android system webview' from the aroma installer.
Download the zip file from the
link
https://mega.nz/#!0d5Tiaja
Decryption key !JAG5Im-T75YN1CKIOiOcyDDaBH2ILD6dzwxw4xnhrBc
Extract "libwebviewchromium.so" and "libwebviewchromium_plat_support.so"
It is taken from stock samsung ROM and only works on armv7 devices.
Copy them to /system/libs using ESfile explorer or any other root explorer.
Overwrite the original file if asked.
give permission (-rw-r-r) to both file
Reboot to recovery
Flash this file "cm12.1 android system webview" from this thread(only for cm12.1, will cause bootloops in Xenon hd and resurrection remix)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m/themes-apps/mod-google-android-webview-t3109216
Apps will now no longer auto close in your face without warning
((-> After testing for a month, I concluded that these steps are optional and use only if you want to have google android webview instead of cm12.1's built in 'android system webview'))
2) Now the most important part, random reboots.
This was reported on earlier builds of lollipop by many users. This is mostly caused by minfree that android uses to manage memory. If you navigate to sys/modules/lowmwemorykiller/parameters you can see 4 or 5 files. two of those files have wrong permissions. They are "adj" and "minfree".
If you give them (rw-r-r) permissions, you can adjust minfree values. the stock values are too aggressive and would cause constant reboots, freezes. Download romtoolbox, navigate to task manager, swipe left. you can choose to use any presets. i use 8,12,24,60,70,80 as minfree values.
Dont check "auto apply on boot" because you need to repeat this whole process after a reboot as those two files"adj and minfree" will be replaced from boot.img on boot by kern
Permanent fix: unpack boot.img. Navigate to ramdisc and open init.rc file in notepad. Find the line
chmod 0220 /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
chmod 0220 /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/adj
Change both values to 0644
save and close
Repack boot.img
Put it back inside the zipfile using winrar or use flashify from playstore to update boot.
I found tool to unpack qualcomm boot.img from this website. Full credits to the developer who made this tool.
http://www.droidbeep.com/how-to-unpa...-img-qualcomm/
download ROM toolbox and apply your preferred values
3. Low storage and optimizing apps(configuring ART compiler)
After google updated android runtime from JIT to ART, apps take up huge space and "optimizing app" takes forever. But there is workaround for that too.
1)Open build.prop in any text editor.
2) find these two lines:
dalvik.vm.image-dex2oat-filter=........(blah blah)
dalvik.vm.dex2oat-filter=...(blah blah)
3) Change both of these lines to
dalvik.vm.image-dex2oat-filter=speed
dalvik.vm.dex2oat-filter=Verify-none
If these lines doesn't exist, in your build.prop, you have to add them manually
4) save your build.prop file
5) reboot to recovery and wipe dalvik cache
After this check your storage space, You will have plenty of storage left and optimizing apps should be faster. It works just like old JIT compiler from older android versions.
if this doesn't work for you, you have to edit these same lines from default.prop by unpacking boot.img
I have fixed this issue by editing init.rc inside boot.img, but i dont know if i should post it here or not.

You can try wiping phone efs through odin in order to fix radio issues
1 Download stock jb rom
2 Check "phone efs clear". This is most important.
3 Click pda
4 click start
5 wait for phone to boot up
6 go to settings->software update to check if you are running latest jb build. Soft reboots and radio issues are usually caused by old baseband version.
7 Proceed with usual old way to install lollipop.
This way odin will wipe your efs settings to rebuild from scratch.
still ploblem ??? :? wait how to clear efs

you need Stock jb rom to do this. I also had this issue in e120l, but clearing phone efs fixed radio issues for me. you need odin3v 1.85 and samsung usb drivers.
You can find it alongside " phone bootloader update". Be careful not to select this one by accident.

you get "libWebviechromium .so" file while installing gapps package. Go to opengapps.org and download aroma installer.
there are two files in the archive i uploaded, libwebviwechromium_loader.so and libwebviewplatsupport.so. You need to extract and replace those files in system-> libs after flashing gapps package. The built in webview will cause random apps shutdowns. this file is critical. You need libwebviewchromium_loader to start webview app. your system will not function properly without it.

have you checked debugging option from developer options before doing this? Make sure your data cable is not faulty. please make sure you have a backup of efs partition if you are having network issues with all ROMs. try hellcat and stock based roms for testing to make sure you are not having this issue only on lollipop or kitkat. Also try to wipe boot from recovery menu before flashing.
