How to install rcmix3d - guaranteed - HTC Sensation XL

Please unlock your bootloader at htcdev site and root your device. Rooting instructions posted in this forum. Please follow instructions carefully and as stated.
1. After doing the above then flash recovery posted in this forum. Choice of 2 but recommend modaco version. Test recovery by choosing it from bootloader screen and pressing power. Reboot into bootloader
2. Flash boot.img from anzhi posted on page 2 of cappys thread.
3. Return to recovery and flash Chinese Rom by anzhi. Link posted in anzhi thread by me on page 2 post 18. Once flashed reboot device and follow setup wizard to completion. Once done return to recovery
4. Wipe data/factory reset, dalvik cache and format system in mounts&storage. Flash cappy Rom. You don't need to flash boot.img from within cappy Rom as already done prior to flashing Chinese rom.
5. Once complete reboot device and enjoy
Just as an added note as not to confuse others please see below:
- As a rule you should not need to flash chinese rom but you do need the chinese boot.img. after flashing chinese boot.img you can enter recovery and try flashing cappys rom. if successful then happy days. the above guide is really for those who still get startup fc etc after trying it that way!
**** I have not posted links in this thread as we have provided all info needed and I feel that we have to help ourselves. Froum is quite small so info is readily available with a small search ****

This is just meant as a guide for the very minute few who get stuck. Process seems long winded but it is only way to get cappys Rom working. Do not skip any of the steps and do as instructed. This is gyaranteed as that is how I flashed cappys rom myself and others too. Please post install problems here but there should not be any if all steps are followed correctly

Weird I didn't had to flash the Chinese ROM in order for it to work just the boot.img and ROM flashed correctly and I'm already enjoying some rcmix tweaks thanks to Capy

What recovery are you using? If using the modaco recovery then it should work that way but if using the earlier Chinese one then you may need to. As I stated in first post this is for the few that can't get it working.

you need to follow steps i posted. this happens sometimes if you try flashing cappy rom straight after install recovery or without flashing chinese boot.img and chinese rom. this thread was started because of these errors. you need to flash the chinese boot.img then the chinese rom. once that is done(setup wizard completed) and phone has started you need to reboot in recovery then flash cappys rom! the steps are there and all info needed is easy to find.
Follow the steps and you cant fail

sorry for this question, but it has been a long time since i have flashed rom on HTC Android, I'm coming from Samsung Galaxy S2
flashing chines boot.img can i just copy it to the internal and and then enter fastboot and then choose bootloader and flash the boot.img file ??
or is with fastboot connected to the pc ???

Get phone into fastboot mode then put boot.img in fastboot folder and type fastboot flash boot boot.img in command prompt, then install Chinese rom, once you've done that you can then install any of the other roms. You will only need to do this once...

[HELP] - Bootloop when trying to load CWM Recovery

Hi
I am new to this forum, however have previously had Samsung devices and never had any issue with CWM. I have a X715b (obtained via Vodafone NZ) which i recently updated to the Stock VNZ ICS ROM. After getting bored with the stock ROM I decided to look at custom ROMs. I want to install Insanely Cool ROM so went about finding the required steps.
After finally finding an updated root tool which would work for the ICS stock ROM I have now rooted and unlocked the bootloader. Here is where I get stuck.
I have HBOOT 1.28.0003 and when I flash the CWM recovery it all seems to flash fine, however after reboot when I try to access recovery I either get stuck on a white HTC screen (CWM Recovery 5.8.3.1) or it seems to keep the screen lit after the HTC screen and then eventually turns off (CWM 5.0.2.7)
Is there another recovery image I can try or do I need to update the bootloader in some other way?
Device: Sensation XL (X715b)

Any help most appreciated
Amon ra is a different recovery. First time I flashed my old desire it kept getting stuck in a bootloop so I flashed amon ra and then cwm over the top and that solved my problem then..
Worth a look I guess. Hope it helps.

Do you know how to use adb? Try using the "adb reboot recovery" command. If not you can always try reflashing recovery.

Thanks for the reply
Just tried it again (Flash and adb reboot via unix) and much like attempting the install from SD within the clockwork mod app it loads the HTC splash screen and then just appears to turn off but is frozen so I have to remove the battery to reboot it.
I also just tried flashing the chinese boot.img and then it won't boot at all so had to flash cool sense boot.img which then works fine.
I also found a development touch cwm v 5.8.0.9 and that just freezes

If all else fails, flash a stock ruu, that will restore stock recovery, then try flashing a custom one again.
Thanks again, will try flashing a stock ROM. I have tried both (ROM Manager and via Fastboot) and neither has worked.
Will let you know how I go
Unfortunately I have not been able to find a ruu stock Rom for cid vodap022 and modifying the cid in another rom fails at signature check.does anyone know where I can find a Rom for voda nz?
Well its been quite a night of it, I found that it was HBOOT causing the issue with CWM and managed to find a chinese site which had a recovery image for 1.28+
I now am able to load CWM and can flash the Chinese ROM, however when I try to flash the ROMs I am actually interested in (Insanely Cool Sense & Total Senseless) I receive the following error
Error in /sdcard/<ROM NAME>.zip
(Status 1)
Installation Aborted
Can anybody shed any light? I have checked the md5 of both zip files and both appear to be ok

it's about s-off your SXL
then use fastboot flash RUU to degrade it to HBOOT 1.25
but after doing this, you have to change
system\etc\vold.fstab (open with text file)
(the last line)
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 33 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host
change to
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 34 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host

I've never had any luck with good manager. I've written it off. I use TWRP Recovery myself, which I believe is the recovery you're talking about? I judt download it directly from TeamWin's website.

Your device mobo is probably going bad and needs more power than usual to run it. Sorry. If i can get linux to boot I'll send a kernel your way to flash and see if it fixes the problem
Try overvolting the CPU, with an init.d script, that should stop it freezing up, init.d because you won't have a chance of doing it with an app

[REQ]How to flash this ROM on my HTC ONE?

http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.ch/2013/10/first-custom-rom-based-on-htc-sense-55.html
Hi Guys. This is the link for Android Revolution HD 30.0 for HTC ONE with Sense 5.5 and Android 4.3. I have an international HTC ONE with android revolution HD 12.1 by mike1986 and android ver 4.2.2 . I would be very grateful if any one gives a tutorial on how to flash this rom on my htc one. I am asking for a tutorial because last time (when flashing my previous rom) my phone got nearly bricked (no wifi , no storage were the least of my worries) . I managed to unbrick the phone somehow but this time i want a proper tutorial. PLZ anyone post this tutorial. I will give a thanks to one who posts it...(I have already downloaded Android_Revolution_HD-One_30.0zip file) And i have a TWRP recovery..
You need to unlock bootloader, install custom recovery, makijg a preliminary assumption you have done so. Download the file. It will be in the download folder. Once downloaded boot up recovery CWRM or TWRP, whichever you installed. Make sure you have a NAND backup of existing ROM yoyu are currently using, safety measure.
Wipe data/ factory reset via recovery
Wipe cache partition
Wipe dalvic/cache
Install zip from sd card
Search for Android_Revolution_HD-One_30.0.zip in download folder
Follow Aroma Installer Option
Reboot
Wait for full boot may take a few minutes, be patient
BTW if you experience boot loop which you shouldnt just hold down power button for 15 seconds. Once phone turns off hold down volume down and it will boot into bootloader.
From there volume down to recovery option and try again
