[Q] Sensation XL with Monster Beats Pro - HTC Sensation XL

I am currently using the Sensation with my Monster Beats Pro, and I have to admit that I am not at all satisfied with the headset and the sound level.
When I play music the sound level is too low. Compared to the iPhone or the iPod, the sound level is 40 % (my guess) louder than the Sensation XL which dissapoints me big time. It carries the Monster Beats logo branding after all.
I havent opened up the Monster Beats Solo which were included, because I am going to sell them separately, but shouldnt the Monster Beast Pro give better sound volume than this?
I guess that none of you have this combination, and there are so few of us that have this mobile, but I am curious to know your take on it anyway

I've been using the stock monster headphones included and I might be wrong but it doesnt really makes a big difference for me, truth be told I still.prefer the srs and dolby that I had on my inspire 4g

The Beats audio inside the Sensation XL is pretty much a preset equaliser controls. If you download any equaliser app or wait for the ICS build for the XL that has a built in EQ, then you can probably improve general sound from the music player.

I feel exactly the same when using the solos with my XL. Sound nice, but too damn quiet. It's the same problem i had with my Sony A-series walkman as well. great sound, low volume. Seems to be something to do with the french...they've got some mad law about not letting you deafen yourself with loud musinc, even if you want to! Seems sony and HTC take it a bit far and their products all stick to it, whereas everyone else just buggers it up for the french ones.
Anyway, i invested a few pounds in a small headphone amp when i got the Sony. Sure, it was a little annoying to begin with, but now i don't even notice it, and it makes the power much more acceptable.
Mine's a Fiio E5 by the way, but the new E6 has been released since then.
http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk...iO_E6_Portable_Headphone_Amplifier.13121.html
Obviously, Id rather i didn't need it at all, as it's yet another thing to charge regularly.......but it does what i need and for what would probably only get me through a quarter of a normal friday evening on the piss.

Now I went for the XL with the urBeats in-ear headphones. And they are LOUD! Talk about going to number 11. I'm mostly deaf in one ear so do need a lot of volume, and boy do the urBeats deliver.

Its pretty loud with in ear headset. Quality sound

beatsaudio working with another headset?!?

Well guy's i don't know if anyone has posted something like this thread, and if yes please remove it.
I did some testing today. The beats audio is working with almost every headset that i tried! I have read so much about how the headset must be Monster in order to use the "b" and so on. And actualy some of the headset's had more awsome sound then the earpiece from Dr. Dre.......and they were much cheaper.
I bought me a spare for the case anything goes wrong with the "b" headset but i use the new ones more often

No I don't think so. And when i say cheap i don't mean for 1$ or 2$. I mean 20$ and above. There are so many manifactures out there who want's to prove themselfs, actualy you would be surprised about the quality of their headsets
I had a order for those http://www.marshallheadphones.com/product/minor-pitch-black
And i got to say, THEY ARE AWSOME!!! Since im a rock fan, i didn't expirience the real quality from the beats earphones of a rock song.

It would be nice if you post this kind of questions to Incredible S Accessories Section

I have iBeats, they're great but you have to have the right equalizer... With stock htc beats EQ the sound is not that good. With DSP-Manager it's frickin awesome! But without DSP it's just a normal pair of headphones not worth 100€... They can handle a lot of bass and that's the way they should be used
You should give beats products a miss. They are like apple, but in the audio world (as in too expensive for what it is). If you really want a good pair of earphones, visit head-fi.org and read some reviews there.
It mainly depends on what you want from your earphones/headphones, and your budget. If you want extremely high bass, I think the monster turbine series are worth a look.
If you want to impress people, though, get beats.

I guess people are so against beats because they are pretty expensive. Of course there are some cheaper alternatives, but I don't know... Beats are kinda cool And the fact that the sound is bad is just a rumour that spread through the net and people just took it without trying them themselves. I also reeeaaally love the sound! The only thing that borders me, is that my left ear apperently as a too weird shape to keep these things in there where they should

I don't think anyone has identical ears, it's normal for one ear to be bigger than the other. My earphones medium size tips fit my right ear, but are slightly too big for my left, and the small is too small
No offence
But BEATS ARE A FASHION ACCESSORY
I like my sound, my headphones come from a brand renowned for quality for nearly 100 years

If you are looking for sound quality, you should be getting bose, sony, sennheiser, klipsch. If you are looking for style, buy beats. If you want bass, buy jvc xtreme xplosives.

Some could be fake, but the general rule is, the more expensive they are, the higher quality their sound is. The most expensive beats headphones are supposed to have the least bass.
and yeah i remember talking to a service guy at the htc service center, he advised me not to get the beats headset because i wont be getting the desired effect on incredible s...just because our device does not contain the beats equalizer

Beats EQ is not very good anyway! Try Beats with DSP-Manager on our IncS and you'll get a way way better effect than you'll get with Beats EQ on ONE X Trust me, I've tested it...

Hey Guys
I want to buy a beats headphone
But i tested a beats headphone with beats mod on incredible s but the quality was very lower than its quality with htc sensation xl
is there anyway to improve it?
someone told me that inc s doesnt have a part that sensation has! is it truth?

I don't really know what you are talking about but you can improve sound a lot if you use DSP-Manager from Cyanogen.

Beats audio in 2011 htc phones are only software, not sure about 2012. So if you install beats audio into your phone, it should sound the same as other 2011 htc phones.

Well - why buy beats? AFAIK it's mainly a product line sold with Dr dre's name, and they're said to be rather expensive and of rather low quality. That beats app to my knowledge mainly applies some equalizer settings, and buying a decent headphone set and applying a roughly similar equalizer with an app of your choice should give you similar or even better results at a comparable price IMHO

Klipsch are the best. I have the Image One and S4i and their sound is really balanced (beats are too bass heavy imo)
Just that klipsch are hard to get in Australia. I only know a few places that stock them

Sony are great. But the Software in the headset itself is pretty weak. I usually have iBeats but have to send them in for repairs so I'm using my spare Sony ones. You really have to do alot in DSP to unleash their full power, because they really can handle a lot of everything but the software in the headphones won't let them. It's like this:
iBeats - Hardware 60% / Headphones-Software +20% / DSP +20% -> 100% ... Software makes awesome sound of avarage headphones but if you tweal too much it will sound weird.
Sony - Hardware 80% / HP-Software -20% / DSP +40% -> 100% ... Software in the headphones suck but they can handle a lot of changes in DSP so they sound pretty much like Beats.
Other Stuff: Beats definitely look better, Beats have earphone wires with SAME lenght (With my Sony ones the right one is 4times as long as the left so you have to wear it over your neck which looks stupid and feels uncomfortable also.
Price: iBeats: 70€ /including lots of ear gums(don't know the right word), clip for shirt
Sony: 35€ /including clip but no ear gums and the stock ones are very small
So, I think this explains a little Hope it was worth typing
buy jays-a-jays four or one+
Much better and cheaper than beats
5!
Try with Altec Lansing, trust me, the best quality and perfect sound for acceptable price (somewhere near Sony).

[Q] Deciding between the 8x and 810?

T-Mobile is pretty much the only option for me. I have a 4-line family plan and ATT would cost me $60 more a month which is $1440 more over the 2yr contract so as much as I'd like the 920, it's not really an option.
That said, at first I was set on the 8x. I have an HD7 now which has served me well until recently. I now have a fubar charging scenario where 50% of the time I unplug the phone, I get frozen in charge mode and the ONLY way to fix it is to pull the battery. If this new HTC incurs the same issue, without a pullable battery I'd be screwed, right?
Also, from what I can tell, the only advantage the 8x has over the 810 is the screen resolution/pixel density. Everything else seems to be either a wash or an edge to the 810 (microSD, Drive/Music apps). Plus, call me picky, but I don't care for the near-purple version of the 8x that T-Mo carries so I'd have to put a cover on it.
I guess what I'm asking is, is the screen enough to warrant the extra cost, lack of microsd slot, Nokia apps?
Try to compare the screens side by side and you will know is it worth it....
Because what I know about this for a fact is Nokia apps_Nokia apps_Nokia apps_Nokia apps_Nokia apps, very important :cyclops: Probably more Nokia goodies to come also.

There-in lies a problem. None of the T-Mo stores around me have a working 810 OR 8x. The closest store to me told me they only received two of each to sell (this is a suburb with 60k people in a metropolitan area with 2 million people).
For me the removable battery and sd slot along with changeable covers is the deal breaker, I only want a pixel perfect screen in the living room
It was a very hard decision but I choose the HTC 8x over the Nokia simply because the 8x has better hardware
Don't forget beats audio, great front camera and better build quality of the 8X.
Went with the 810 myself, very happy. Nokia drive is far superior to anything else I've used. What sold it for me, after the micro SD, was Nokia music. I live in a dead spot so data rarely works and still having a playlist of new music is really nice.
beats audio doesn't seem to me to be that big a deal. I have done a personal comparison between an HTC with beats and my 810... I couldn't tell the difference.
What it always comes down to, is what do you want to do with it, then you find the phone that best matches your needs...

Couldn't tell the diff??? are you deaf? regardless of what you think about the over manipulated sound of beats there is a huge diff is sound. Try getting an 8x and turning beats on then off. Its esp noticeable with headphones like bose ae2 (what I use and beats headphones themselves).
Beats = louder crisper base and higher high end on cheap headphones you can lose the mids but if audio is what you like why use cheap headphones.
Better build quality of X8? Really, HTC would actually have a better build quality....
And you can see from my sig I have had quite a few HTC's lately
I have the 810, and it is smooth, fast, and high quality. Very glad I chose it over 8x. Nokia games are nice too.

Beats cheat. They increase the volume of the music, so for an equivalent test, you have to adjust the volume down. Beats are COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY USELESS. What is more useful in the 8X audio wise is the audio amp present in the 8X.

I normally would not compare software enhancement to music, but would rather turn it off and decide from there. However, I would be willing to try the sound of the 810 against the 8x. However, no one I know have a 820 afaik. Well, the 920 is comming out soon in my country so maybe I can report back about the 920.

I worked this year at IFA 2012 in Berlin, a big european exhibition for consumer electronic products. Beats Audio presented there their headphones and what schoul I say: they had a good bass beat (could be better, especially for the size of the headphones), good sound, but they are too expensive for this sound quality (same like bose, "good" sound but too expensive). The sound details are not play back really well, and high Frequencies are not clear as it could be. The mids are too "flat"...............
Conclusion: too expensive for this sound quality.
Denon, Teufel, Beyerdynamic, Phonac or B&W in ears have a better sound quality than beats audio or bose at the same price range. Better bass, mid and treble playback, better Detailresolution.
The beats audio funktion in 8X, level up frequencies like an equalizer, uses an own Amplifier, that ensures distortion-free playback at high levels, specially for big headsets, who needs more power. Thats it.
I read that special EQ-presets are available, when you use a beats audio Headset, but i dont know if that's true................ i use a denon in ear with my 8X and the sound is nearly perfect....

[Q] Beats Audio

Hello, I preordered the HTC One and the otterbox case and Anker battery pack. My question is do I need to purchase special ear buds to enjoy the Beats Audio? Thanks
nope.
besides, beats earpieces and headphones are trash.
for that dumb price i'd rather get a pair of final audio
beats mode in the One is a preset eq (which is quite good) and sports a dedicated amp too
