HTC E160-plus headset mod - HD2 Accessories

I just wanted to share with you a mod I made most recently.
It's a customized audio cable for Jabra Halo headset.
As a cord base, i used used (warn) htc E160.
The cable first was upgraded with Sennheiser CX300 II earphones, but later on, the cable at 3.5 jack broke.
I had to "refurbish" cable to jack connections, and make a custom micro-usb audio plug for Jabra Halo headphones to go into corded mode.
As it turned out, the pinout of the cable is compatible with Samsung headset pinout:
http://pinouts.ru/HeadsetsHeadphones/wep870_headphone.shtml
and here is a proof-of-concept result:
If anyone needs any details of either connection details just PM me.
Cheers

it looks very nice, i had seen something like this but unfortunately the buttons of my headsets are broken ;(
maybe i'll try something like you
bye

What are your thoughts. Seems like a good product. Be able to use some decent headphones for listening to those mp3z . . .
Anybody used one of these?
is the answer/mute button only for those 2 functions or is that module also acting as a microphone (don't think so)? looks good to me but i use the headset adaptor i bought from this internet site based in hong kong. check out:
http://pc-mobile.net/pxdaa.jpg (the website is http://pc-mobile.net)
it comes with a standard 2.5 mm jack for the xda. the wire is on a retractable mechanism to avoid tangling. at the other end is the stereo phone jack which serves as an answer/end button and as a microphone as well. there's a single headphone jack connected which uses a 3.5mm plug. when you want to listen to the toons using your 2-headphone set; you simply unplug the jack and insert any 3.5mm plug-based headset. in effect you can use any 3.5 headset as handsfree.
costs 26usd but services are 5-stars for me.
cheers
Anyone tried this adaptor from pc-moblie.net? The sound quality is good or bad?
i doubt that it could damage the quality so you can hear it unless you connect it to a stereo's lineIn and play it out using real speakers
those headsets are too limited imho to take much damage from a few connectors
However, all these things are not suitable for xdaII.
I bought one from pc-mobile and the quality is good. However, since the new xdaII got 2 buttons in its handsfree design, this product from pc-mobile is not fully compatible. You can hear from it but you can't pick up or end call from it as compared to xda1 you can.
I hope they can produce another product which is fully compatible with xda2. Otherwise, I may have to go for bluetooth but really worry about the battery.
Also, can I or is there anyone using the bluetooth handsfree for mp3 playing????? I doubt that very much.
I do really like the pc-mobile handsfree which is retractable and handy.
Any alternative in the market?? You got the adaptor but I think its only good for audio MP3 listening. If you attach another headsfree to the adaptor for business use (don't know whether we can...), you will have 2 buttons (one for the adaptor and one for the handsfree) which is quite funny !
Does somebody else have this problem and find a solution?
Do most people use bluetooth?
*Damn* !
Been creating a cable myself, tried it yesterdaynight late....
The damn thing didn't answer the phone when i pressed te button.
I cut the audio-out cord and trew the cable away, because i tought the mic didn't work....
Now i read this.... Guess the mic did work, but the answerbutton didn't.
Now i hope i can rewire the audio-out cabels again, so i haven't been soldering for nothing last night
Headphone adapter for HTC magic
Hello.
On the HTC magic, there isnt a 2.5 or a 3.5 headphone jack! there is only a mini USB jack. Does anyone know where i could get a mini USB jack adapter to turn it into a regular headphone jack?
Even if anybody knows what kind of mini USB jack comes on the HTC then that would be lots of help! because ive already purchased one that fit, but didnt work so it must have been a different type.
Thanks in advance!

mini USB pinouts and car audio connections

Hello,
I have recently bought a TY TN II and I would like it to play music into my car stereo audio input. Simpler said then done, I have quickly found out!!
I am trying to connect the Kaiser to the car charger and a 3.5 mm head phone jack that I would connect to the car stereo input.
Unfortunately all the Y splitter cable I have seen are very short and would result in having a mess of cable dangling from the Kaiser mounted on the air vent. I would like to just have one cable go into the dash and there connect to the Y splitter and then charger and audio. The goal is to charge and at the same time play music.
I would then need an extension cord to put between the y splitter and the kasier. Here come the problems:
1- How many pins are on the mini usb female that is on the kaiser. Is it a simple 5 pin Mini type A? or is it an 11 pins as some Y cable imply?
2- I could only find one supplier for the mini extension http://www.pc-mobile.net/gugf.htm item CMUE and I am not sure if it is a 5 or 4 wire extension (mini USB can be both I believe). For some reason nobody make this extension???!!!
3- If that extension does not work I could try to make one. What are the pinouts on the Kaiser? I could try to cannibalizing a sycro cable mini male end and find a circuitboard female to connect to the y splitter.
Any help is appreciated. I am getting quite aggravated with this connection problems.
Cheers
Giovanni
Spend a tenner for this
I just ordered it yesterday

Best way would be to buy a BT capable HiFi as with the latest BT fix it will be OK.
BUT!!
If you want a quick hack for BT stereo/handsfree to your car audio.
Buy an iTech clip (it has a 3.5mm jack for audio out) and a car charger for it and a dual cig lighter adaptor.
Fit the iTech clip on you sunvisor (mic is there for phone!) and route its charger cable to the cigarette lighter and the audio cable to your stereo (if you don't have audio in, use a cassette adaptor).
You now can use the clip as Wireless stereo AND it will answer call for you and mute the music and only your power cable to your phone!!!
My iTech clip works seamlessly with the 'Kaiser', not ticks and good audio quality.

This is exactly what I use. I have it connected to an MP3 cable for my stereo and it wprks great!
I have my bluetooth earpiece in to receive calls and the stereo mutes when someone calls.
Also with MS Voice Commander I can also select artists, albums, tracks, or even genre just by pressing the button on my earpiece and speaking!
Its wicked!

I don't want to change the car stereo and I want to just have one simple cable to plug in the Kaiser. The rest should be in the car dashboard and out of sight.
I have bought a Scosche BT receiver but did not work with the Kaiser. BT is kind of miss and hit still. Since I need to connect one cable (power in) anyway I may as well have the audio hard wired.

External speakers

Hi,
I don't really like the sound quality on my Diamond, so I was wondering, has anybody got some good external speakers. It would be great if it works with bluetooth, but mini usb is also an option. And not too expensive ofcourse!
Thanks
it works over bluetooth to any device which support a2dp
as in stereo headsets and the likes
miniUSB is not an option
but diamond use EXTUSB not miniusb
and you can get a converter to 3.5mm minijack for a few coins
then you can connect it to car radio, stereos powered speakers
and anything else

[Q] Bose on-ear headphones + cable mic

Hello everybody,
I own the bose on-ear, and I love them.
http://www.bose.co.uk/GB/en/home-an...bose-audio-headphones/bose-on-ear-headphones/
I would like to use them with my htc hd2 while calling.
Since the audio cable from the device to the headphones is removable, is it possible to have a 3.5mm female/male cable with a mic and audio controls in it?
I mean something like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-co...1_1?ie=UTF8&s=computers&qid=1288395589&sr=8-1
with mic and controls attached
thx

EDIT:

I've done a slightly different take on this, I snipped the lead between the control module and the headphones and soldered a inline 3.5mm jack socket. This enables me to plug my Sennheiser HD-25 headphones in without having to damage the lead and in fact plug any standard set of headphones in whilst keeping the full functionality of the remote module...

Is there anyone else here who uses a BOSE in-ear headphones?
I've got one and I read a few reviews AFTER I bought it that it's not loud enough. I'm not sure if this is something to do with the phone or the product is just like this.
I've had Klipsch Speakers for my PC before but unsure if their earphones are also very good compared to BOSE.

[Q] USB to Jack

Hey,
I was wondering about the quality of such cables. Like this one :
http://www.befr.ebay.be/itm/ADAPTAT...ripheriques_CasquesMicros&hash=item20bc79d7f1
Do they work well ? My stock headset is dying and want to replace it with a standard jack headset. Does this adaptator affect the sound quality ?
And on a side note, does headset buttons and controls still work if I use it ?
Thanks.
Sound quality is not affected, i'm sure at 99%,but all depends on your headphones,i bougth a snheisser by 10$ and i'm so glad with them.
About the buttons headset didn't proved it but i think they would work.
I bought something like that, the phone doesn't automatically detect it so I have to use a widget to activate it. The sound quality is ok, but it's better over bluetooth
Ya it work
One you have showed is 5-pin mini USB(male) to 3.5mm jack (female) and if button is on the connector it will work, if button is on your earphones then it will not work. I also use this kind of connector but it came with the box.:good:
