unbranding o2 XL - HTC Sensation XL

Hello,
I have a sensation XL of O2 Germany this I would like unbranden. Is there already a guide, preferably with an original HTC Europe Rome. Rooted it is already here with the instructions from the forum.
Can someone help me?
Excuse me for the bad translation, Google Translate
greeting

Install CWM, download an unbranded rom, install.
You can find it all in the stickies in the development forum. all instructions should be there too.

Hey,
thanks for youre answer.
CWM is installed, now I wanted to install the ROM at the point choose zip from SD card but this does not work.
Can not open / sdcard/PD98IMG.zip what I'm doing wrong?

Try the install update instead of install from sd card option within CWM or place the zip file on the root of sd card and reboot in bootloader that should work and follow on screen options to update

It does not work, I think it is possible that the CID O2__102. If I could change it to HTC__001 or in the SuperCID but it might work? Or I'm still doing something wrong .. : (

[Q] How to remove Alpharev root?

Hello,
My HTC IS has a problem. It won't charge anymore. I want to use vodafone's warranty. But my phone is rooted by Alpharev's beta. Is there a way to completely remove it? i don't want to void my warranty!

i'm a total noob at this.. could you link me to a tutorial or something?
Just pick a ROM from this list.
Copy the prefered ROM to your SD Card and flash it. It overwrites your current ROM and revers to standard settings. with S-ON and no Root.
hi,
i tried this method but it doesnt remove it.
Just dump the whole zip i downloaded into the sd card or gold card?
Can anyone guide me thru this? i appreciate your help.
thank you.
Go onto the revolution irc, they will tell you how to unroot and S-ON your device.
Try to have a look at post #14.
You have to download properly RUU (ROM UPDATE UTILITY) in order to match your devices region. Then you should run .exe you downloaded before just to get rid of PG32IMG.zip on temp folder that setup created. You could type %tmp in start menu (win7) and look for the folder and file mentioned before. Now you should put PG32IMG.zip on root of sdcard and boot to HBOOT in other words bootloader. So if you downloaded correctly RUU you gonna be prompted to install it.
Sorry if I miss any step it is just something I don't do very often. Hope it helps!

Actually what we are looking for is called rom.zip you can find it somewhere under Windows temp folder (C:/Users/AppData/Yourname/Local/Temp/). Then you have to rename as PG32IMG.zip and put on root of your sdcard. Finish by going to bootloader and flashing your PG32IMG file. You may have to wipe /system /data and dalvik cache before. I have an European unbranded IS bought on Amazon.de so I pick latest HTC Wwe RUU.

We need a new clockworkmod for ICS

I've installed the full ICS RUU on my Sensation XL and flashed the current recovery.
It can't find the path to the sd card so it's impossible to make backups and flash update.zips etc
The sd card however is accessible when the device is in operation as when flashing the ruu all the necessary bits and bobs are upgraded such as hboot, partitions etc.
You will notice from the thread in the dev section that the sd card doesn't work if you flash dutch dannys update.zip and i'd presume this is a result of the changes made.
Anyway if anyone wants to have a go at building cwm from the ics recovery/boot that i have and can give me a pointer on how to dump it i'd be more than happy to give it a go.
My device is s-off so testing stuff is fine too.
Worth pointing out that if i flash back to gingerbread using a stock ruu and flash cwm it still doesn't see the sd card so if you don't want to lose cwm for now don't flash the ruu.
I'll try and follow this at some point but short on free time this weekend

How did you install the RUU on UK handset? I got a CID error because the RUU looks for asian devices. The CWM problem will persist when you go back to GB because the ICS update came with new hboot. Maybe speek to paul o'brien about new recovery.

You can't flash the asian ruu on stock uk devices ;-)
edit: what you might be able to do is extract the firmware and add your cid to it similar to the sensation
i'll give paul a nudge and see what he can do
edit: ignore
dont think that the problem is the recovery....maybe just a look to the update script of the roms...with kind regards

Its the new hboot that comes with ics alex. It changes mount point for /sdcard. Thats why CWM can no longer find it.

[ROOT][CONFIRMED] SOFTWARE VERSIONS 1.14, 1.24, 1.08, 1.27 and all ICS software v etc

Hey guys
- not experimental anymore as roots all latest ICS builds and previous unrootable GB roms!
This is classed as experimental as I cannot try it but those with above mentioned softwares can. As we know most of the ASIAN firmwares 1.14, 1.24, 1.28 and Thailand and some o2 DE and Vodafone Dutch firmware versions have not been rootable by Doomlords exploit. This can prove quite disappointing by some who want to flash custom roms etc or just want root on their stock rom. This supersu zip works with most recent firmware releases and on One X so there is a strong likelyhood it will work on SXL as well.
Original Thread here here and all credits to CHAINFIRE(amazing dev) for this. I have attached the latest supersu zip 0.88 to this post.
Procedure:
1. If not already done so unlock bootloader at HTCDEV website. full instructions given on how to do this on the website here
2. flash recovery from here
3. boot into recovery via bootloader and flash supersu zip attached to this post (download and place in root of internal sd before flashing recovery) and reboot. supersu app should be installed on device. run the app and update the binaries as prompted and that should be it. if any issues go to preferences and change su setting to grant from prompt and it should be ok.
please advise if successful so i can update or remove thread. please post what software version you attempted to root and region PLEASE
Extended flash procedure broken down
1. unlock bootloader at HTCDEV.COM
2. with phone connected to pc and usb debugging enabled type: adb reboot bootloader. phone will boot into fastboot mode showing fastboot USB in red border
3. type command: fastboot erase cache
4. flash recovery downloaded aboved by using this command: fastboot flash recovery recovery_for_1.28
5. using press power button to select hboot highlighted in blue
6. vol down to recovery in green and power to select. recovery should launch
7. install zip from sdcard and choose supersu 0.87 or 0.88 and install
8. reboot and enjoy full root
Thanks for your hard work!

Appreciate any help but why try and confuse things if posted solution works. Recovery method is offered because most will prob flash a custom rom so will have recovery already.

Two little questions

1.I want to format my SD Card on the SXL not throu the PC but throu the Settings in the XL. Would I have to install qlockworkmod recovery after formating it?
2. I found one how2 to lock bootloader and install original firmware on the xl but how can i find the right RUU for my XL? There are 3 one for Europe and I cant download them from filefactory... My Sensation XL was buyed in Germany and its not Brandet.
Sorry for my bad English!!!!
I would be very very lucky if someone can help me
Im very sorry about the double tread i cant belive why i have made two of them

I am looking for it too. I rooted and unlocked the bootloader, and then HTC sent out an update... it won't install unless it is stock rom (from what I heard). So either factory reset will put it back to stock rom, or I need to flash the original stock rom? THEN do the unlock and root? Or is the unlock and root set forever and you don't need to redo it after each rom update?
Have a look here:
http://blog.163.com/gsm_unlock/blog/static/114965953201341644133884/
To retain root after ota, install voodoo ota rootkeeper from play store before taking the ota and run it to protect root. OTA will most likely break root. You can restore it with rootkeeper after OTA as long as you backed it up before the OTA.
Once you have your unlockcode.bin file from HTC, you can unlock again at any time if needed. You can relock to run a RUU and then unlock again after.

802w is a special one, I got RUU this morning, I think important is to get the correct CWM image (I tried three other images before and they're not working) and put an external SD card, it seems that the 802w need an external SD card for entering recovery mode.
Steps I did:
1. first unlock the phone
2. flash the recovery with cwm802w6032.img (I find it with google by searching htc one flash recovery, but now I forgot where. Other img files e.g. recovery_cwm_touch_6.028-m7.img are not working)
3. download the Superuser-1.0.1.8-CWM.zip file and put it in root directory
4. now it can enter the recovery mode and you can install SU with the zip file
Now I find the thread for the correct description of flash recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42151602&nocache=1
