Quantum OEM CAB update collection - Quantum Windows Phone 7 Development

Here's a collection of the OEM CAB updates for the Quantum captured via wireshark.
CAB updates can be pushed to your phone via cabsender:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248799
Instructions on how to capture OEM updates:
Startup WireShark and monitor you internet connection in promiscuous mode. Enter filter: "http.request" (without the double quotes). Start to update your phone. You'll see all the webrequests it makes. You'll also see which cab-files will be downloaded for your language packs.
If you capture a new update, please feel free to post the link here and I will update accordingly.

hi, i am in INDIA with AT&T unlocked Quantum. I want Wifi Tethering.
Does any of the above .cab provide that ?
Also, is AT&T having the latest drivers , i see the version as 1.1.16 , while others are in 1.0.X

none have wifi tethering. Also the version numbers are misleading, ATT actually has the oldest drivers. You can open the CAB files inside winrar and then open the sub-cab files and view the dates they were modified.

which one has the latest drivers for Mango.
I am planning to push the TELECOM NEWZEALAND CABs to my Quantum. As it has some post mango drivers released on OCTOBER2011
Whats your recommendation on the same?

Thanks bob. This is awesome. If I had a spare Quantum, I'd try to send other model cabs to my C900AT.

Can i push the latest drivers to my AT&T Quantum ?
Will it cause any issues to the device ?

if you have an ATT rom installed, it should already offer you those drivers.

I mean to ask, can i push the Telstra drivers to my AT&T quantum ?
Will it cause any issues to my device ?

I have flashed all carriers ROMs to my c900b and updated them all full via official updates, so in that sense it should be ok. However, I have never successfully sent a drivers cab from another provider to my phone - i tried to send the ATT drivers to my bell rom but it failed to install. no harm was done.

One last question to you. ? I got a AT&T sim unlocked mobile with me.
If i Flash another ROM to this mobile, do i need to buy Sim unlock code again from the Carrier of the ROM.?
Can you please clarify?

the unlocked state of the phone has remained intact for me while flashing all roms available on c900b

Thanks for the info. I tried flashing the Telecom-NZ firmware and it is successful.

Telstra WIFI tethering drivers update found and posted:

did you send the NZ cab update? or did you flash the NZ firmware?

actually, i tried flashing both NZ and telstra ROMs.
I found Telstra to be more smooth and faster that NZ.
I flashed the ROMs directly, did tried to send the Firmwares.

ok, I am confused. can I take the Telstra wifi cabs and install them on my ATT LG Quantum C900 by changing the registry keys to Telstra? Or do I have to wait for an official ATT US update (if there ever will be one)?

According to me,
you can't take the telstra cab and flash . there is a problem with the firmware number , AT & T current firmware and Radio SW version is 1.1.16.0 but for telstra after this update it just came to 1.0.5.10. Even though you change the registry keys , it wont gets successfully installed.
But, give it a try , flashing with a wrong cab wont cause any damage to the device. The update will fail thats it. I have tried to flash many other cabs file to my quantum and nothing ever has happened till now.
All the best.

A question about WIFI
Hello there everyone,
Do any of you know if any of those firmwares and their corresponding updates add the capacity for connecting to hidden WIFI networks?? Microsoft included that on Mango, but LG seems to have omited its implementation, perhaps because of drivers related issue.
I know for sure the BELL-CA updates does not include it. But I need it. Have any of you seen this functionality in any of the roms after they have being updated?
Best regards to all,
Zedd.

Sasktel (Bell Wireless Alliance) does not include the ability to connect to hidden wifi either.
Maybe the Telstra firmware does? It has wifi tethering so it should have an updated driver.

update
Has anyone been able to update the phone to a newer version than 7.10.7720.68? Via the CAB's posted on XDA? Can you even install them on these phones, do they work? I am a noob with WP flashing
How about langauge? I'd like to install Finnish but IDK how to do it..anyone know how to do it?
EDIT:
I went to reg edit and changed the Operator values from AT&T to Telstra AU. Installing updates right now.....going at 7.10.8107. Thanks for great guides!
7.10.8112.7...........
7.10.8773.98...........
EDIT 2: Can't install lang pack.. anyone know why? It throws a strange error :/

[Q] Current KIES registry settings for Orange UK locked i9000?

Hi all.
I had a problem with my wife's Orange locked Galaxy-S where it has a simlock code that I am unable to get around after tricking KIES into flashing I9000XXJPC via the registry hack.
I was wondering if someone could post the default registry settings for an Orange UK branded handset for KIES in the hope that I could trick KIES into flashing the Orange Froyo update when it is released?
I'm hoping that by doing so once it's released and can be update, my wifes phone may accept her sim-card again.
I take it all I would need is the following:
"SoftwareRevision"="CURRENT ORANGE VERSION"
"ProductCode"="CURRENT ORANGE VERSION"
"HIDSWVER"="CURRENT ORANGE VERSION"
"DEVCONINFO"=""
I want to put this request in before any release is updated & I'm hoping that flashing an official Orange UK software version may help.
Thanks for any help!
(The Galaxy-S is currently being used as a glorified media player and my wife has my Nexus One for now which I'd love to get back!)

[ROMS] Original LG Firmware list

List of all firmware available for P500 (list of codes)
Seems that there is unable to download FW directly anymore, because of updated security policy. Event, when you find URL, it's possible, that will not work, because of "access denied" like here: http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGF240S/ASKTWH/F240S10n_00/F240S10n_00.kdz
Link deprecated. If I will found more, I notify you.
http ://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LGP500&country=CZ
NOTE: Seems, that there is also possible select your country code, for FW selection. Just add "&country=XX" at the end of url. For example
Code:
http ://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LGP500&country=GR
will search greek versions of FW.
If you want different type of phone, just replace P500 with your type.
Code:
http ://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LGP500
Download link is
Code:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/[B]XXXXX[/B]/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz
where XXXX is code from link above. For example:
I want to original LG firmware for czech republic.
1) Open http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/ezlooks_model_list.jsp?model=LGP500
2) In browser I will start search czech/cze and it finds something like

[B]CDMA LGP500 ACZEBK CZE/CZECHO[/B] - Unbranded FW
[B]CDMA LGP500 ATMCBK TMC/T-MOBILE(CZECHO)[/B] - Branded T-Mobile fw
[B]CDMA LGP500 AVDZBK VDZ/VODAFONE(CZECH)[/B] - branded Vodafone fw
where ACZEBK or ATMCBK or AVDZBK are code for download link.

It's not confirmed, but you can also try V10x for new version of firmware. Maybe it will work, maybe not.

Sniffing of communication of LG Update client
If above not working as you expected, you can take a look on communication between client-server.
1) Download and install membrane-monitor
2) Configure it as proxy (LG client gets configuration from your default browser, so just set your browser to connect through membrane-monitor)
3) Turn on filter on lg server (create rule for filtering *lgmobile.com*)
4) Start client
5) Watch messages between client and server. If your LG client works fine, you can get download link for your latest firmware.
For flashing of firmware take a look on Zecanilis's post [HOWTO] Flash original firmware on P500
Thanks for posting this!! Really helps!

Seems that the *BK one is the only one that works
A few days ago I downloaded from a link found somewhere on the internet a V10A firmware. the link was for the portughese version. Now i've redownloaded the one from AITABK. the MD5 sum is the same for both the file.
So probably the firmware with the same version revision is the same in all countries, and probably the later revisions is for non-standard country related settings
(sorry for my crappy 'n twisted english )
It seems that there are not every firmware for every country. If you can't download it directly for your country, try look for continent or something. It's hard to say. Possibility to browse folder directly one by one doesn't exist.
It's realy pity. I tryed few links from czech and europe end here every was function so I hoped that every-one will be fine.

in my opinion the many revisions currently released are the same firmware with some minor country related differences... maybe something about the local phone operators
an LG employee wrote in some italian forums that LG will release a firmware in a few weeks (before the end of december he said) that should fix some bugs: the sdcard that unmount and remount random and hopefully the slightly annoying noise on nearly all audio related situations (outgoing calls, ringtone, mp3 player...)
How I can download versions for Chile?
CDMA ??? it says product type - cdma
I am having LG p500 GSM, will it suit this ?
doesn't work for me (Telus Canada) or I didn't find the good information...

I've just tried to flash my Optimus One and after it finishes its stuck in a boot loop, gets to the "Android" screen and won't go any further! I've tried with the Australian and Bulkans ROMs from the above link and same thing, still no good.
Has anyone else experienced this? What else can I try to fix this, I've tried to flash 4 times already, each time there's no difference!!
i had get problem like you, i have found a way to solved it, after you flash your LP One it will turn of your phone, now press Home + Volumn Down + Power, your phone to boot to Android ok.

Guys thanks so much, that worked well! I thought the phone was bricked but it has loaded normally now, I wonder what causes that problem in the first place?
Someone should update the first post with these instructions in case others experience the same issue.

Could you help me please ? My question maybe stupide, but is anybody could explain me how to flash my phone with the original *.kdz firmware ?
Maybe also make a tuto ?...
I would try to install one of the custom rom on my optimus p500, but I dare not, because I want to be sure I could return easily to the original firmware if I encounter some problems....
Thanks a lot in advance

very confused over this update practice
I have ever thought a un-braded ROM are the better choice ....
My Omnia 7 is a t-mobile "light" branded device. before come the officially MANGO i have it flash it with a un-branded ROM. But it had a older firmware + no InternetSharing.
so i have few weeks ago my device flash with the t-mobile ROM. I`M now pleased with it and happy over the InternetSharing function ...
I have few WiFi only (tablet) devices and wouldn be without this great future .......
yes the T-mobile ROM KH2 posted on mobiletechworld will persuade Zune to upgrade it to
radio 242.11.9.1
firm 242.11.9.4
bootloader 5.9.3.0
internet sharing & compass works perfectly now !
I had issues with the Data connection on Orange UK , but used the Samsung app "network profiles" to switch from T-mob de and it's all good.
I think the reason that the non-branded ones are lacking is, that not all carriers want internet sharing enabled.. so the generic one doesn't get it.. also I suppose the cost of testing it has to be paid by someone.. T mobile in this case

my version with diagnosis now:
PDA: I8700XXKI2
Phone: I8700XXKI1
CSC: I8700ITVKI2
and btw if you really need internet sharing you could enable it using diagnosis on a unbranded phone
just follow this guide on mobiletechworld and keep in mind you have to revert to zune sync when you want to use zune again
thanks
Just recieved these updates too, no Interner Sharing either.
In fact I see no difference other than build numbers?
Ex UK T-Mobile Omnia 7
Sim Unlocked
Un-Branded
Before:
PDA:I8700XXKH5
Phone:I8700XXKG2
CSC:I8700XEUJL3
OS:7.0.7720.68
Firmware:2424.11.8.5
Radio Software:2424.11.7.2
Bootloader:5.8.1.9
After:
PDA:I8700XXKI2
Phone:I8700XXKI2
CSC:I8700XEUKI2
OS:7.0.7720.68
Firmware:2424.11.9.2
Radio Software:2424.11.9.1
Bootloader:5.9.0.6
I am wondering why my phone version is ki1 and not ki2 could someone enlighten me, please?
Hmm well, my Omnia 7 differs from all of yours.
Seems like you are struck without Internet Sharing and on Mango 7720.
Ever though about flashing the firmware to a newer version? Or using a ROM from another carrier?
Mine is a Omnia 7 with T-Mobile Germany Branding and I had received Internet Sharing together with Mango 15 days ago.
I even received a few hours ago another new update, which changed the OS version to Mango 7.10.7740.16.
I already announced it on forums here (screenshot and version numbers there):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1349495
the thread title is "omnia7 no brand no logo firmware update" how did u understand your t-mobile germany omnia7 is different from ours???
thank you for the completely off topic post, we are able to read the forum I think
I successfully set up connection from my laptop with my unbranded omnia7 and found a little error on mobiletechworld guide using it
so here's step by step for my case: samsung gt-i8700 and wind ITA carrier with windows7 home premium x64
phone version:
PDA: I8700XXKI2
PHONE: I8700XXKI1
CSC: I8700ITVKI2
1:dial ##634# and press call to enable diagnosis menu
2: in diagnosis menu dial*#7284# and select the middle option: Modem, Tethered Call, and reboot phone as asked
3: Download and install http://www.multiupload.com/GH391NDSY1 and don't mind the Verizon branding on install wizard
4: connect the phone with usb cable to the laptop and wait for driver install, and check in device manager; you should see Samsung mobile modem
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
you could also double click and go in properties --> diagnostics --> and press query modem to se if replies correctly
5: now go to http://www.2shared.com/file/_Ty7WFZ7/WINDEasyConnect_20100111.html and download wind easy connect and install; be sure to not select any drivers during installation
6:wind easy connect then will detect the omnia7 and asks if he should use it, say yes and voilĂ , you can now use the auto-configurable dialer to connect with omnia7 and surf happily
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
be sure to check if you have a data plan that permits the use of cell phone as a modem(i asked call center) i'm not responsible if you don't check and have then to pay a lot of phone bill
and remember that omnia7 is not officially supported by wind ita
sorry for my bad english

Just received the update. Developer unlocked, unbranded Omnia 7. No internet tethering :-?? I don't see any improvements either.
i noticed that battery now lasts longer, and phone seems smoother and quicker, not bad!!

[Q] Unlocking DS7

Ok, so I work for this company that is mass selling these DS7... We have all types of the models come in, and I'm trying to figure out which ones can be upgraded to Honeycomb 3.2...
I know that the WiFi unbranded model can receive the OTA update, but the T-mobile WiFi is unable to receive it.
As far as I can tell none of the 3G models can receive the Honeycomb update. I have been reading around these forums today, and found out that (correct me if I'm wrong) carrier unlocked 3G models can be get the OTA Honeycomb update.
I have been looking at this software to carrier unlock the DS7 (Dell Streak Unlocker ), but don't know if it a one-time-use device specific unlock, or if I could use it to unlock many devices.
I know there is a lot of information provided here hidden in these forums, but I am at work, and I cannot spend all day looking for answers. If someone could just help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
If you're running into multiple S7's, could you report what roms are installed on them?
To find your rom version:
Go to settings -> about tablet
List the following:
OEM Version: GLUNB1Axyyyzz
X is your hardware model:
(note that this isnt consistant below 340)
1: US 4g
2: EU 3g
3: Wifi
yyy is your rom version
zz is your region
Build number:
Baseband ver:
(if applicable)
Dell Streak 7 Official roms - XDA wiki
Dell Update Process - XDA wiki
You're likely going to run into a couple that I dont already know about,
I would like to ask if you could make nvflash dumps of them, but I'll settle for just rom info if you can do that much.
General breakdown:
From a hardware perspective: all S7's can be upgraded, they're all more or less identical internally (bar the modems)
From a software perspective, Tmo ones and wifi ones below 340 cannot be officially updated.
The unlocker software likely is one time use/per code.
I cant say it actually is because I've never tried, but it strongly sounds like it would be.
First of series
I don't know how to perform a nvflash dump, but I can provide the system information. I will be posting different systems as I come across them. If there is a guide that you can point me to that shows how to get the nvflash dump I would be happy to gather that data for ya.

[Q] Which stock ROM can I use (CSC code mismatch)?

Hi,
These are probably newbies questions but I could not find a definitive answer for them. Basically, I think I am having some mismatch between my CSC code and my location.
I bought my GT-N7000 in Senegal (where I live) a bit more than a year ago, with a GB ROM. A couple of weeks afterwards, I received an OTA update (pushed) without any issue, apparently the last one on GB. Then the Note was caught in a storm and the motherboard was fried. The local after-sales service ordered a new motherboard, which was installed in August. Since then, I have not received a single OTA notification.
A few weeks ago, I tried to force OTA to check updates, but I keep getting a Server connection error. I installed Kies but am then getting the Device not supported error, though I have not rooted the phone or changed anything from the stock base. I also tried both processes while visiting in France, using a French (Bouygues) sim card but with a similar result.
The *#1234# maneuver gives the following:
PDA: N7000UBKK8
Phone: N7000UBKK3
CSC: N7000CHOKK3
The CHO CSC code is confirmed on Kies. Apparently, this is a code for Chile, so I don't quite understand why I would have it for a Senegalese phone. When using the 272 + IMEI code, I also get the CHO code, with no alternative choice.
I tried looking through various sources, here and on SM, but cannot find any confirmation as to what the CSC code for Senegal should be (i.e some national code or a regional / open one), as I did not check this with my initial motherboard.
The local after sales service has no idea about any of this ("you should not try to update too much via OTA, your will fry your motor") and they suggest the current GB 2.3.6 ROM is indeed the latest one available here. So my questions are:
1. Is there a way to confirm this latter assertion?
2. In case there is in fact a newer stock ROM but the CHO "discrepancy" (provided it is indeed a mismatch) prevents it from being reachable on OTA and Kies, to which code should I change my CSC to make them available again?
3. Should this change not be possible (or the CHO code be the correct one), which ROM (most likely JB) should I use via Odin to be sure I will still be able to use any and all of my local setup. Since there is no reliable Wifi here, I have to rely on 3G (this gets all the more tricky since I am using a small operator (Expresso) instead of the large Orange one) so losing the expresso APN in the flashing process is not an option (I understand crashing APNs can be a drawback of flashing non-national ROMs on Odin, maybe I'm wrong).
Sorry if this is all very basic, but not finding any specific, local info is getting a bit frustrating
Thanks
You can try CSC Changer from play store but i doubt that you will find csc for your country there, even if you do and you choose it, it will format your phone. JB update is available in Africa but not in your country, nearest one being south africa and kenya. You can flash firmware for any of these countries. Regarding APN Settings: if you are rooted used TBP to backup your APN settings or even My Backup Pro can also backup your APN Settings which you can restore after flashing firmware for any of the 2 countries mentioned above.
Make sure to format everything from recovery (ofcourse after backup) and flash JB using Odin.
Good Luck!!!
Cheers!!!
