PROBLEM!!!!!1 - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

Why i cant find the place to put the sdcard in -.-?
can i root my device without sdcard?
can i root my device by installing the zip in my tablet?

this tablet doesnt have an sd card slot. u can place zip file in internal memory and flash from recovery!

Read the forum rules, scan the forum if your question has been answered, et voila...
Also exclamation marks annoy me.

Because there isn't one to find.
Yes.
Also yes.

Cause there isn't any.
Hi everyone
I'm new to forums and tablets. So for some time I won't have much to offer in terms of expertise. But this is probably the only question I could help with. At the cost of a sleepless night with 50p eyes when nothing works, doing sth that usually takes 30 sec.
There is no SD card slot. So with the cable from the computer you just drag and drop it into your memory. The rest you've got in the Guide thread.
Easy rooting.

[Help Please] Micro SD Card

Hi
I have 2 gb micro sd card and I want to format it using Resco file explorer. But it keeps telling me to check to see if its unlocked.
I use to be able to format without a problem. But i have recently started to flash roms. I can put stop and take stuff without a problem. Just won't let me format.
I also tried formatting using my laptop, but won't work.
EDIT: Sorry, wrong place. Wanted to post this in general Kaiser forum.
Is the little write protect tab on the side of the sd card in the right position??
i moved it off the lock position and nothing? my comp won't even let me right click it. when I click to open it, says needs to be formatted and when i click format PC says it can't be formatted.
I searched on here, but no thread about this type of problem. card isn't ruined because i can still add and delete stuff.
I never experience this issue .. quite confusing.
However, this should be posted in General forum, not ROM Development. Mod, please move as such ..

Could be a problem with the card / slot connectors. Try with some other card reader.
I had an issue once where I couldn't format my card - I had no lock errors though, just couldn't format through the PC or with PPC programs.
Eventually I installed 'Flash Format' by CNetX (google it) - it formatted first time on the free evaluation version.
Worth a try if you're about to bin it!
Good luck.

You sir are a genius and a life-saver!
This product is a magical potion for the microSD card. I tried so many different things online, on the laptop, and the Kaiser and none worked. This thing took less than a minute and formatted with the click of one button.
Mods, please move this thread. Hopefully it can help others who might have this problem in the future.
Thank you very much sir!
Glad it worked - it's very strange that this little program seems to be able to sort the issues that even the premium programs can't....

pls tell me this isnt a brick

ok so I was running drizzy's 2.7 and i needed to repartition so i could install the jac drizzy collaborative hero
after repartitioning i tried starting up so i could connect to my pc and put the update on my sd card. it goes to the g1 screen and then goes to a completely black screen and stays there... no hero or android logo....i can still do recovery i think
ha sorry i miss read your question. can you even go to recovery?
def not a brick... brick = not able to access bootloader or recovery screen. If you can access those, just transfer file over via adb and just re-flash and you should be good.
i dont know what adb is so im just gotta put a ROM on the sd card via a reader and flash it???

ADB is your best friend. It will let you do things when you can't do anything on your phone (like in your case).
If you are going to mess with Hero roms (or any experimental roms for that matter) you really need to learn at least the basics of it. Read up on it and start using it. It's a lot better then trying to put in 10 lines of code on phone's keyboard.
Good luck
i used an sd card reader to put the file on my sd card and now its flashing....i cant find a thread through search about adb...got any good links???

Go into Dream Android Development forum, second sticky from the top. It has all the info you will ever need, including basic ADB comands. At this point that's all you need, you will learn more as you move along and do things over and over again.
Edit: Silly me, look at the first thread on this forum
Good luck.

Formating the SD Card For Moding?!?!

Hmmm, okay....so i am trying to Mod my phone, and have read all the ways to do so. I appear to be stuck at the first step though. Formating the SD card.
I connect the phone to the computer and go to the removable disk and try to format, and i always get the error...."Please Insert Disk" and then it automatically disconnects the phone!
Is there something i am doing wrong?
My phone has been updating to crc1 or whatever, no rc29.
Any help?
READ THIS THREAD!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535232
not the first few pages but the entire thing.
in it you will see all the available ways of doing so. theres a bunch.
anyways. its covered. just get started.
your gonna wanna start with "downgrading" to RC-29 by putting dream.nch (or something similar, check the link)on your sd card. renamimng it update.zip and the rooting. it goes on from there.
ENJOY!!
Basically your computer hates your phone. I have had many problems with mounting the sdcard, which is why i got a card reader. Make sure you don't move the usb cable once it is plugged up to the phone, if it still doesn't work, do you have another device with a sdcard spot thet you can connect it to the computer with. Also its DREAIMG.nbh exactly that. If your card absolutely will not connect to your computer then follow the guide in my sig and download on your phone then move it to the root of your sdcard with astro or something.

Oh...meet one of the masters. He has a point. I'm the proud owner of 3 properly formatted sd cards. . Then I broke down and bought a card reader.
Trust me.....its better to slow down and read then ask a few questions and tate success. The enrire platform is exploding and the things our devs can do is wonderful, understanding the basics will prove to be greatly beneficial soon!!!
Wait till you see the theme threads!!!

what is that suppose to mean lol.
reading and asking questions is for losers lol, not really though it is best to read through the process a few times and make sure you have all the files downloaded before you start, also if you have a cheap little phone you can pop your sim card into in case something takes longer than you plan is a good option thats a plus.
don't do like i did where i had no clue what i was doing and spent like 2 and a half hours trying to root my phone.

I have a big problem!!!

Hello, I think, I have a big problem...
1. My phone does not read the SD card, but yesterday all was ok, and now i can't put a new rom
2. i have deleted the boot and the recovery and i couldn't install them, because my phone don't see my SD card...
BUT: when i put a DREAIMG.NBH file and try to install it through the fastboot, it is seen by the system and it starts to install the rom, but there appears an error, that it's wrong device ID of my phone... please somebody, help me

Might have a dead/faulty sdcard slot, old parts tend to fail.
ok what you have to do now is download this program called paragon partition manager jus google it n it should be the first link., after downloading the manager open it n locate ur sd card (also u do need a sd card adapter so make sure u have the one tht came with the phone or any onther in this case.,) after u have located the card patition it., to do this u have to choice how much space u want for ur ext 2 ., i choice about 300 to 350mb range leaving me with about 3.6gb left for my personal use., after u choice the amount u want for ur ext 2 start the partition it should be a few mintues., after tht put the memory card into ur phone check if it works., i did this same procedure n worked jus fine for me., hope this helps you out., if not post back the problem.,

any reason why a second thread (both created by you, on the same topic) is nessicary???
i gave you a few specific instructions last time....
first, repartition the card (using paragon, or a ubuntu live CD) if it doesnt work then you
can try a fresh format on another SD card... if niether work then you just have a faulty slot (assuming you are on a stable/Stock rom that you know works)
and YES FASTBOOT can recognize a card while the rest of the phone wont(personal experience), dont ask me to explain it, but if you had even read my last post in your other thread youd have know that......
your G1 is probaly just old.... get over it.... it was always intended as a Beta/Dev device....
and you HAVE been reported for spamming the forum with multiple threads on the same topic (in the wrong section this time no less)..... and dont ***** and whine about no-one checking the q-a sections.... it cuz fsck-balls like you spam useless ****
MOD EDIT - Please abide by forum rules and only post a query once. No need for duplicate threads. I have deleted previous thread

chicken first or egg first?

I flashed the Alf 8a kernel and after that Ifound out that Sdcard not able to mount anymore because it needs another component "vold". Now I am stuck now in a corner. Since I could not possibly access my sdcard I cannot update that script with CWM. USB wont connect so I could not transfer files onto my sdcard. ADB wont work either. I could xfer files onto my system folder but it does not serve any good because CWM only look into mounted SDcard. I don't have a cardreader so can't put the files onto my SDCARD. What are we supposed to do?
Is there any manual way that I could mount my sdcard and transfer those files via ADB?
never mind.. after reboot a couple times it seems that my sdcard is mounted now i could go in to do it.
dunno why though
Flash stock. Happened to me.
BTW, the chicken came first.
Chicken ^^
Both came together
I'd like to tell you all that it has been scientifically proven that the chicken came first.
This is because , according to a research an egg requires some specific proteins to develop , which are ONLY and ONLY found in chickens.

Next time , Mount your SD card to another phone , and copy the files through that phone. Just borrow a phone from your friend.
I suggest you then format your SD card , and copy back the files to your SD card after a full format.
Then see if it works.
@Chris - I was wondering, how would flashing a ROM damage the SD card ?

I didn't say that. The OP just didn't flash the vold update which is required to make the SD card mount. I was in a similar situation and because I could access my SD card I had to flash stock kernel back.

Although you do make a good point I would like to respectfully retort. I don't have access to the full case study, I would like to say firstly that a case study in this instance can't 100% prove something of this magnitude; only support their hypothesis. The protein, ovocleidin-17, acts as a catalyst, which speeds the formation of the egg shell to protect the yolk. Now this doesn't factor in thousands of years of evolutionary history that predicated it. Another article states that there is a variant of this protein that is found in other avian species that acts in the same manner, meaning it did originate from an evolved mechanism.
And again, I'm not saying that this study is a hoax as I have not read it, but I'm saying that an enzyme found in chickens that attributes to egg shell formation isn't necessarily enough proof that the chicken came first.
