Loving the launcher! I'd love the ability to change the number of screens I have. I noticed it has five. I'd like to be able to drop to 3.

+1 layout a little out on wilfire.
Nice idea and concept. I just love adw customization and larger widget availability too much.
Great work though.

Not compatible with ICS.

Really liking this.
Is there any way of hiding the status bar though?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk

Well, since I can change the number of screens, the only thing I think that would make this a perfect launcher for me is the ability to resize widgets and use custom dock icons.

i love this! im using the cloud theme

Very impressive!
I think I found a bug:
- go to Group Management
- long-tap last group (Times)
- select "move down"
- phone not responding anymore, have to reboot.
I'd prefer reordering here would be drag and drop, if possible.
Also, HiLocker keeps the phone awake, wasting battery.

I really love the hi lock screen, BUT:
It has massive battery drain, my phone can't get to sleep and when I look at the battery consumption, the lockscreen takes up like 20%. So I had no choice but to use another lockscreen.

[REQ] Portal 2 Theme ~-~ Suggestions + Themers Welcome!

I realize this is a double post, so perhaps we can just merge the two. The other is linked in my sig. Thank you moderators
Alright, time to flex those theming muscles.
I'm a gamer, you're most likely a gamer, and with both those conditions being met, it's safe to assume you are acquainted with Valve's masterpiece, the Portal Series. I appreciate and love the comedic and puzzling aspects of both Portal and Portal 2, and am excited to try to get a theme going.
The theme would probably get the biggest support for adw, free or ex. I personally am partial to AOSP ROMs, as are many of the themers/graphics guys.
Here's the running list of things to have:
• Bootanimation/Splash - DONE thanks to JamesC_
• Icons
• Icon dock
• Wallpapers (I think a cool idea would be to have alternative walls for widgetlocker and the homescreen, one with each color portal)
• Themed major widgets (start getting more specific with that later)
• CM Theme Manager or otherwise AOSP theme, including, but not limited to menus, notification bar icons, and a cute something on the notification panel
Possible icon sets:

http://gorganzola1.deviantart.com/art/Portal-Icon-174389446?q=sort:time+gallery:gorganzola1&qo=2
Any more suggestions/pledges/themers willing to aid their time please comment below, and let's try to keep it constructive guys!
Let's start with some Wallpapers:
http://biofall.imgur.com/portal_theme#5eUEr
Wallpapers fail to fit my phone, setting from browser only shows small portion. Setting from gallery lowers queality like crazy.
I was bored today and was looking for portal themes for my nook running cm7.
I will keep an eye on this thread and see If I can find anything to help.
Love the game so far.
I think with the wall papers you have to click the "download full resolution" link in imgur.
Not sure I like these, I would really like to see one with the look of "panels" from the game. I am horrible with graphics. lol. I usually have to rely on the kindness of strangers for icons and whatnot.
Here is a good set of icons:
http://lady-tima.deviantart.com/art/Portal-v1-0-1-75896888?q=boost:popular portal icon&qo=8
I know its for the iphone, but it works.
I cant help but be inspired by this post also from Deviant Art
http://wistfulwriter.deviantart.com...e-192617498?q=boost:popular portal icon&qo=14
would love it to look like the Level Boards....
HEre is what ive been working on latley, decent but could be better.
Looking for a battery widget that looks like little bars like on the level boards on each level in portal.

I made an unlock, lock, and shutdown sound i like it! hope you do too.
I too would love to see a portal theme for my Thunderbolt! I am brand new to Android, and am not willing to root my phone, so any help on installing a theme for unrooted devices would be great (I do have Go Launcher as well as Launcher Pro and ADW). OR, any help on creating my own would do just as well. Will keep an eye on this.
I already downloaded the wallpapers and icons, will play with that for a bit. Will also try Simple Text and Minimilistic Text see what I can do.
+1 on this idea. I love the idea of a portal-esque theme for my samsung captivate.. might try to toy around with it myself a bit too.. Will report back once I actually get some progress..
I have been using this setup with a little modification as my lock screen for a while. I think you'll like it as a portal fan.

[Launcher] (8/2/11) HeLauncher 2 *1.0.5*

All Credit to HandlerExploit Dev of HeLauncher and owner of Simply-Android
HeLauncher2:
Simplicity has a love/hate relationship.
HeLauncher2 is a home replacement for the mobile operating system known as Android. The home application is the center piece to the users entire Android experience. Device manufacturers like to modify the home application to give the user a different feel for their device, to make their specific device stand out against the crowd.
What makes this home replacement different is the dev has gone and ripped apart multiple proprietary home applications from the manufactures and blended them together into one home application that can replicate them all with one button.
Features:
- Based off of AOSP Launcher2 from 2.3.4
- Three custom themes (Gingerbread, Sense 3.0, Touchwiz 4.0, ALL THE REST FROM He1)
- Transition animations for the desktop
- Blocked applications manager
- More new settings picked for Android users by Android users
What's in this version:
- Lots of small bug fixes
- Added screen indicator location preference

a free lite version would be great....
Looks good. Nice to have different choices of looks.
Paid? Wow, that sucks!
I can't buy it, since I don't have a credit card
Wow!! looking good
Looks actually very good! Could compete with the other top launchers if you introduce a lite/free version to allow people to test it out! I know I will!
Not too shabby, liked the first one as well, this adds a few of the badly needed features that were requested, though I'm not sure if its pay worthy vs Helauncher1
Also, needs Xperia style with the folders, and the sense style would look alot smoother with the page notification working like it does in sense... with these I'd feel it was worth my money
It looks very good! I'm going to test it if you add a horizontal app drawer and a smoother scrolling in the Sense style. I'll look here for updates.
looks great and would be interested in trying it, but the 15 minute refund isnt nearly enough to see how a launcher works. A Lite version would definately help
aww , nice, thanks!
OP Updated, 1.0.4
Kinda laggy on HTC Wildfire. The app has potential, though. Great work on the sense 3.0 dock.

I got it last week after porting an unusable ADW launcher. I love it. I have an LG Rev. I use the Samsung style home.
Loving the launcher, I'm using it to add functionality to my Meizu M9 (yes I'm using the Samurai theme).
I just have one request: would it be possible to add an option to hide icon text on the desktop?
Many thanks!
Thanks for the kudos guys.
As for a free/lite verison, you can just use HeLauncher 1 to test it.
I had this prior to getting my DInc 2 for the sense dock. Absolutely beautiful. My only question is, is there any way for you to make the page indicator exactly like sense? Not the dots across the top.
Loving this launcher, just need the new Motoblur with a horizontal app drawer and itll be perfect

[THEME][LauncherPro] Dark Metro Solid Black [CRITIQUE/SUPPORT]

Update: Alive on the android market. Search 'dark metro'. Can't link directly, xda rules. Also available through the Theme Manager app.
Recently started playing with all this theming stuff. I've been making a theme for LauncherPro Plus, even published it on SlideMe app market, but without much succes.. So I'm wondering if I'm theming something wrong. But as I can't expect myself to be objective, I need some feedback, user input, constructive criticism, so I could get better. I'd like to share ideas on this.
So.. a little Metro/WP7-inspired.. cause metro icons are just perfect Ladies & gentlemen, I present you Dark Metro Solid Black.

Now, as I am pedantic about the design, there always has to be (at least there should be) a matching icon pack for every theme, especially in case of LauncherPro, and I found a few that go well with what I created, for instance, here on xda-dev forums, there's this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=924446
Really awesome metro icons pack by Weudel, with help from GinoCorleone. You'll get high-res 256x256 png files from it, that although seem like better, they looked kinda weird on my phone, so I experimented and found out that smaller resolution versions, say 60x60, 48x48 actually look better.
It has something to do with android system resizing images. Anyways, to save you the hassle with resizing, you can grab a resized zip from my blog (with permission from the creator, credit goes to Weudel for this)
It's also possible to find the official WP7 icon set on the net, but xda has it's rules, and I can't link to it/post it.
And btw, speaking of metro icons, some people might find it useful - try googling MetroStation by yankoa. Black, blue, white. Huge. You'll love it.
Again, no linking, sorry people.
Speaking of wallpaper, bright, warm colors suit this theme the best. I particulary like sportscars, so picking the one you see on screenshots was a no-brainer to me.. if you like it too, pm me.
I posted some stuff more and hints on this theme back on my blog, like a matching Minimalistic Text widget settings. If you really like it, feel free to drop by.
Aaaah, one more IMPORTANT thing - there's some weird bug when browsing black icons in gallery 3d and quickpic (two gallery apps I'm using, don't know about other cases), but don't go ka-boom just yet.. Dirty fix that goes for all black/dark icons - just pick the ones you'd like to have in your dock, name them like 1.png, 2.png, 3.png etc, the open the right folder in your gallery app, and they will be 1,2,3 in the first row, 4,5,6 in the second, and so on in the lower rows from the top. Just pick blindly by number, you'll get the ones you want.
Also, if you have some questions, like for instance newbie questions (how do I setup this or that), just PM/mail me. I mean, I'm new to this myself.. heh.
Reserved for world domination purposes/maybe an additional setup guide to keep it clean from post #1.
This looks great. Very nice work.
Very nice!

Just a quick update - it's alive on the market now! I managed to pull this off with a little help from a friend in the US.
Just search 'dark metro launcher pro' or simply 'dark metro'. Enjoy!
Also, I'm toying with some stand-alone widgets to match the theme. And probably a custom widget locker skin would be a good idea. But for now, studies take most of my time. At least for a week.
Nice man! It looks nice and clean.
Thanks. Nice and clean is exactly what I aimed.
Minimalistic is jazzy. It's a trend, a fashion. A design philosophy, a very appealing one.
But on the other hand, desktop has to be productive. I had a minimalistic rainmeter win7 desktop, and I loved it, but when it came to the development of this theme, I just turned it off and went for the icon/folder cluttered simple desktop. Cause it's faster, more productive, when you have all them crappy folders on your desktop instead of jumping from one location to another to search stuff on your hdd.
So one has to balance. Be minimalistic, but productive. But minimalistic!
So I chose LauncherPro as a base, because it's very productive with it's widgets, everything one needs right there on the desktop. Twitter, facebook, bookmarks, calendar, agenda, you name it. Well-thought.
Just a little metro love (round icons, whoooh).. Some dark shades.. and ka-boom.
Nice! It looks so nice!!

Contrast: - 100% Opacity Black and White theme that will show up on any background.
Metro: - WP7 "GTX" based theme, 100% Opacity Black and White buttons with squared background.
Subtle: - 100% Black and 15% White Opacity theme. For those who would like a more subtle, yet functional theme for Button Savior.

Excellent and thanks!
Wish this could be done with all Touch-compatible apps.
Really good looking and crisp. And you get to change the transparency, suiting any need. Great job and thanks once again!!!
Thanks a million for working on those themes. Any chance of modding some launchers to work better with out Nook Touchs? I like Go Launcher but unable to see setting menus. Thanks again.
Welcome everyone, I'll keep you all up to date on anything else I get done for the Nook. Can't say that I'm really taking requests right now, but I'll look into things that I categorize as feasible; being a poor college student who works three separate part time jobs, I'm stupid busy.
I'm ripping apart apks with APKTool, so a modified version of GoLauncher to be bundled with TouchNooter looks like an interesting next step.
But keep enjoying your Nook guys. I'm sticking around, love this thing!
This is great for the Savior Buttons but how could I change contrast for icons on the homescreen and in the appdrawer. I see in the picture illustrating the new app that icon contrast are perfects.

I think what you're referencing is ADW Launcher, which is my home screen. The buttons on the right hand side are of Button Savior, everything along the bottom is ADW and some icons I cooked up.
The bottom row of buttons off the dock are all Folder Organizer folders, it's an invert of an old "GTX" theme from Windows Mobile, pre Windows Phone 7 "Metro" might I add.
They are just simple inverts of the white icons I made and use on my HTC EVO. If you'd like them, you can find them attached here. But again, you'll need FolderOrganizer or a similar app. ADW's shortcut feature is broken running on the Nook STR. :/
cheers! such a gr8 post! should be sticky

Yes, adding shortcuts from the menu doesn't work but if you open the app drawer and long-press the app you want, it will be added to your homescreen.
I've found the Minimalist_Black ADW-theme to work very well on the N2, it has a great collection of b/w icons that are perfect for eInk screens.
Thank you both for your clear explanations.

[2.1+] Widget Maker - create widgets out of other widgets

MOD EDIT: links removed
Widget Maker
Widget Maker is a unique application which allows users to create panels - superwidgets as we like to call them - comprised of other widgets installed
on your device. You can fine tune the position of many elements and their alignment to fit more stuff on your screens in a neater arrangement.
If you use our awesome Meta Widget, this app will also help you correctly create panels with lots of complex widget elements like tables or squeeze a
larger number of comic strips into the confines of your home screen.
Please note that some widgets are not fully supported, including a number of stock Google ones.
The DEMO application will function for 7 days, after which time you will be prompted to purchase the KEY if you want to continue viewing your panels.
INSTRUCTIONS - to get started, simply open the app, create a new panel and add new widgets into it by pressing the + sign in the lower left corner.
Once a widget has been added you can move it around the grid much as you would on your home screen.
NOTE - once you have saved a panel, it can be added as a widget through the widget picker. On some Android versions, you may have to manually
stretch the widget once it has been added.

Here is a quick panel made for weather, i just made it fast, anyway it could be more beautiful and useful, but i didn't had any ideas. Anyway i just want to say a few things:
1.What it's that little red exclamation present near widgets?
2.Sometimes selecting simple text or images, they show up fine in meta widget, but fail to appear in widget maker(panel).
3.Panel counter(in name) doesn't decrease if you remove panel.
I would make a video tutorial too, bit later. Nice work ftg!

The idea is interesting, I was thinking of making this long time ago, but I was waiting to see an implementation of it. Which yours is very poor. It has terrible results when switching portrait-landscape, does not coop well with decreased DPI. It's just not pro and well thought out. It's just so poor.
I see... it seems you have written the same thing about Meta as well. Guess you'll just have to make your own like you planned. Or give some contructibe feedback instead of trolling like a tool knowitall.
0.9.2.1
Fixed panel naming when creating new widgets
Fixed alignment issues of widgets with no padding
Fixed cell size not sticking under some conditions
Anything to report?
Trying to make a widget of Penny Arcades comics (latest as the widget) but it shows up as blank unless I long press on it and move it around and it shows it there. Kind of strange.
