For people looking for a 2600mha extended battery that works awesome - Xperia Play Accessories

I purchased battery in Sept and have to say that despite the size it runs forever. This battery is fantastic. Its cheap. I paid almost $20 for it and got it in about a week. I am a heavy user and gave up my otterbox case just so I could use this battery. It lasts me all day easily. Many times I have tried my best to run this thing to the ground in one day to see if I could drain the battery. the lowest I have ever got it was around 38%. Those interested here you go.

Good deal, close to the cheapo 3600mAh from ebay for 16$
Time will tell if it keeps his power, overused Xplay can be energy hungry.
ebay Sid=886382230
Included:
1x Brand New 3600mAh Extended Battery
1x Back Cover(As photo, please notice that the original back cover can't be used if you choose this battery)
1x Wall charger
1st impression, the black cover fit well the white model.
Appreciating the thickness it gives to the controller side,

Prior to buying the 2600mha battery I purchased a 1950 battery from ebay, it had the same form factor as the stock battery and I had serious issues with my phone. Phone was glitchy. Found out the battery (1950mha) was not outputting a sustained output level, it was all over the place. It was also from Hong Kong. The reason why a then purchased the 2600 was because of the positive reviews for it. Needless to say that 2600 was the best purchase I have made all year.

Just ordered one
I hope its good.

I'd like to get, and I am sure others as well, would like to get your feedback and thoughts on it after you have got it and spent some time with it.

Make sure to change battery mha from 1500 to 2600 in your build.prop. do that when its fully charged then reboot into recovery and wipe battery stats. Enjoy.

can this be bought at radioshack or something?

Not that I am aware of. Never seen these at radioshack. And if they did I am sure it would be more expensive then buying it from the website batterybay.net

When I got the battery. I went into my build.prop and towards the bottom of it you will see a section for battery. Default it will say 1500. Above it I believe it says screen density @ 240. Battery is right below. I changed it from 1500 to 2600. Then I booted into recovery and selected to wipe battery stats under I think advanced.
Sent from my R800x using xda premium

K, I am not the best with tutorials but here is what I did to my build.prop in regards to the 2600mha battery.
Go to your Build.prop files (/System/build.prop)
Open in text editor by long pressing on it and selecting "Open in text editor".
Scroll down until you find the title " Additional_Build_Properties"
A few lines above that look for the line that say:
ro.semc.batt.capacity=1500 (Change 1500 to 2600)
Then press "menu" and Save & exit".
Now make sure your phone is fully charged and once it is reboot into recovery and do the following:
scroll down to "advanced" and then scroll down to "Wipe Battery Stats". Then select "Yes" Then reboot. You should be golden. If anyone needs help reply and I will do my best to help.

All is good but it would add thickness to my already-quite-thick device :/
Why can't they make a higher capacity battery the same size as the normal one?
Sensation XE has much better battery than Sensation, they use different battery but they are actually the same device.

I had a 1950mha battery in the same size as the stock battery... nothing but bad luck. Phone was on crack. Glitchey and lagging. Then I read that you can cram a higher mha battery inside a stock battery for a phone per se. But then what happens is the battery gets hotter (which that one did) and with the additional heat comes a faster discharge rate, and a overall shorter life span of the battery as it cant stay cool.

I dont have install a recovery Image on my rooted Play with locked bootloader. How i can without cwm wipe the battery stats.
When i install cwm for wipe my battery and for Future use, the Installation of cwm wipe my data of my Android Rom?
THX vor help!

I believe there is an app in the android market that will wipe the battery stats, you need root.
Here it is.

Extended batteries

I was going through amazon and was checking out this battery, does anyone own it? I'm kinda hesitated with no reviews or feedback but it looks amazing

I'm Testing Them Now
I got two 1800 mAh batteries and a wall charger from Amazon. I have deep cycled one of the batteries so far, but I need to run some more cycles. Also, I need to put the original battery back in and time it to see how much more, if any, I am getting from the replacement batteries. I will try to report back in a few days with better data.
As for the charger, it can charge the battery directly, outside of the phone. And it has a USB port for charging the battery in the phone. So if you swap out a dead battery, it can be charging while you are using the spare battery in the phone. The charger is small and can easily be carried in a bag or briefcase.
Awesome. For 17 bucks I'll try it out.
I got the SaFPWR Fusion 2 case with the 1800 MhA battery. It works great, I run off of the case's battery all day, and sometimes it runs out and switches to my phone's battery around 10 at nite. Lasts me all day, even using Pandora, internet, e-mail, textes, etc.
Pretty pricey, but it's a case and extra battery, so I just looked at it like if I got and paid for both.
Plus, it has a year warranty, so I can just go in and get a new one before the year is up.
Case makes the phone a bit heavey, but I don't mind, feels like it gives it a more solid feel.
I've ordered the two 1800 mah batteries plus this so i should be set for the life of the phone which is till the edge comes out, this stock battery is pathetic, the amaze has a 1820 mah and its not even lte
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
I would go with one of these 1700mAh or 3400mAh from Mugen.
1800 mAh batteries not any better, for me anyway

After running one of the 1800 mAh batteries through 4 full discharge/cycles, I got 20-40 hours per cycle. (Note, my usage pattern is probably less than most folks.) However, after running the 1650 mAh battery that came with the phone through 5 full sycles, I got about 48 hours each time, except for one where I got 24 hours with much heavier (for me) use.
So, I think I can say that the 1800 mAh batteries don't really provide significantly more power. They are the same size as the 1650 mAh battery.
The main benefit is simply having a spare battery in an emergency. Also, the charger can charge the battery while out of the phone.
PS: At night, I will put the phone in Airplane mode. It uses little power while I am sleeping, extending the battery time.
:>;
Requires too many permissions. What's with "access to power" all about anyway. Besides that I looked closer and see that it does not include either a screw driver or adhesive. Are they insane?

I signed up because of this thread. Its great to find others that have tried this. I have posted some of this on other sites..
I bought the 3600mAh from ebay for about 13 bucks. Popped it in and it was at 75%. I used Battery dr. app to see what usage time are compared to stock. Even at 75% it should have been more then what the stock batt had.... but it didnt.
Anyway, I thought it was a cheap chinese battery and just left it in the phone and charged it over night. I thought it was a wash and didnt thinking about it till later that day.. After it was charged the wife used it a little and hours passed. When I picked up the phone it was still showing 100% so I re-charged it just in case and ran it through a test.
Turned wifi on
Bluetooh on
sound at max
ran a long netflix move 2H:30min+
then did it again
and again.. haha
Anyway I didnt finish the 3rd time around, but it looks like I can get with all that **** on about 7 1/2 hours of netflex. Hell without wifi and bluetooth that might be over 8-9 hours..
I have not tested the stock one, but I dont think it will last that long. Which leaves me to think for some reason the Battery dr. app or something is not really forecasting the right amount of talk/video time. Also I ran Nav for over an hour the phone was warm and Battery Dr. showed the same temp all the time. maybe there is another app to try.. or maybe there is something in the battery that gives the phone info..
Well I'm still averaging around 27 hours so for $15 I think this is the best battery I've owned
Sent from my HTC Raider X710e using xda premium
I just dont know why any of the aops doesnt show the difference..
I just tried "one touch battery saver" and that shows the same talk time, surfing time as the stock battery..
You might need to reset stats from fully charged ?

New, better battery

Hi, Is there any better battery than stock on Ebay?
Yes, I use One from AkkuKing and One form PolarCell and both are better then the stock battery..
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda app-developers app
There are 2 kinds of battery replacements, the ones that have the same size as the original one, and the ones that are bigger and come with a replacement back cover for your phone in order to fit in there.
The first kind is usually ineffective. The Mah listed by most of those batteries is greatly exaggerated and poor quality control makes getting one of them a lottery. You might get one that lasts a little longer, but it might start to deteriorate after a month of usage, or it might be worse than the stock battery from the start. The only exception to this rule is the Mugen power 1700 Mah battery, but the cost of that one is almost unreasonable.
On the other hand while the fatter batteries do work, they will transform your phone to an unpocketable miniature whale. You will also be unable to find any cases big enough for the phone.
I am in the same situations as you and i decided to go for the Mugen, it is expensive but it's reliable and performs better than the stock battery.

and what about anker...are they any good??

Anker batteries are supposed to be good quality but i can't find the normal sized model anywhere and even if i did, it has the same MAh as the OEM battery, so i don't see a reason not to get the LG battery instead. The fat 2800 MAh model is good but i don't want to double the size of my phone. For that same reason i am not interested in the Mugen Power 4500 MAh battery, i will go for the 1700 MAh version instead.
Actually I got the battery from grey market here in Bangalore India it looks exactly same as original exactly same means from exactly you just can't differentiate ...but after a month it became futile hold same charge if you use our not will discharge in 4 hours

4250 mAH original back door battery? does it work?

Found these on ebay what i like is that it keeps the original cover and no added thickness , anyone tried those batteries or not i read a reply in other forum from a guy used them and says it adds around 40% more for the original monester note2 battery
I know note2 battery is awesome gives me full 7.30h of working display with 3g and 20 full hours ,, but why not add more if its ok !!!

I'd be incredibly surprised if that is truly the capacity it says considering it's the same size as the stock 3100mah battery. If it were possible to fit a bigger battery I think Samsung would have. Also, from personal experience, I have found those cheaper off-brand extended batteries can often be worse than stock.
I hope I'm wrong because who wouldn't love even more juice?

Hey I bought this exact battery and I've been using it for a week. I honestly haven't noticed any difference. Since I have so much time this holiday I've been using my phone constantly and at the end of the day im down to 10%
I bought that exact "4250 mAh" gold battery from eBay but from a US seller. DO NOT BUY IT. It is not 4250 mAh. I have tested it on my Note 2 and it only has the same power as a regular 3100 mAh battery. It is blatant false advertising.
People don't realize that in China the word "mah" actually means, "Look at the stupid Americans!"
No. This battery will NOT be as advertised.

The only way to extend battery life is to a get a battery physically larger than stock but that's just way too big with a phone like the note 2 imho and iv used extended batteries in my G1 and G2x.

The best slim battery. Ever.

Let's say there are two types of removable phone batteries:
1.SLIM
These are the batteries which just fit straight into the phone without a bigger back cover needed, just like nature (the manufacturers) intended.
They can be extended, and offer a greater capacity, but their physical size remains the same.
then there's...
2. CHUNKY
The bigger batteries which offer a much greater potential capacity but also need a bigger back cover. They make you look at your phone and think "does this make my phone look fat?".
Of course, people are generally accepting of plus sizes nowadays, but slimmer is more practical, in the sense of a phone, right?
Anyway *clears throat*, I bought one of each of these, both being extended.
Firstly, I bought a chunky one, 3500MaH. I'm not sure if it's the phone, or the fact that the battery was el cheapo ($6 AUD), but it seemed liked the stock battery with nothing but an extra weight attached
Then, I purchased a slim one, the infamous gold '2430' MaH battery.
I wouldn't be surprised it was actually 1430 MaH, for it was worse than stock (1500MaH).
The point of this thread is to ask you which of the SLIM extended batteries (NO CHUNKY, ONLY SLIM) is the best you have ever used?
And may you also provide a price / link?

I would normally always go stock, its safer. even for the little extra money, your getting something sure to work and be safe and tested well.
I'm currently using / testing Battpit Battery you can buy on Amazon.co.uk after the 3rd charge cycle it tested and averaged out to 1740mAh or so, and under heavy use it turned out about 10 hours on almost constant use. i was very impressed.
i'm currently still doing my standby minimum use test for the past couple days and its still going.
heres a link for the battery i bought

so far my tests have found it to be worth the buy. the capacity and charge have been as labeled, and the battery performance so far is going well.

I've ordered a 1800 mAh from ebay. Will report later on the differences with stock battery. Be sure to always charge your phone completely and only charge when battery drops bellow 20% or so, this will lead to a better condition of the battery.
Bought a "gold 2430mAh" battery.
I will edit my post in 2 days to do a feedback

EDIT : Yep, it tooks me 2 yearsq to do the tests... Seriously, thoses "gold" battery are totally fake. The battery did'nt handle 2 charges and wasn't better than the original battery.
As I wrote in the other battery thread...stock battery format with better Li-Ion technology, or Li-Pol could give maximum of 1800 mAh. This is a realistic number, I recently bought a Mugen extended battery and it seems to have given 1700 mAh. But all these golden batteries...:cyclops:

Battery usage
Hey there!
Ive tried every Rom on this forum, (almost ) but all gave me the same battery issue. (Only the 20s based roms where pretty Good!) Ive found not any ICS rom compatible with 3G and a good battery life. Tobad, but for me its a fact. The P990 is not designed for using with 3G, just drains the battery in les then 3 ours!
I also tried a lot of baseband and Ril versions, there where a few who does made a difference, but not that big.
Right now I using the 20s baseband. just because of my experience in the past.
For me the big difference is how you configure your processor. Which schedular and which governor. I tried a lot of combination, right now Im using schedular conservative with the ZEN governor, this combination gives me a really good battery usage. (4% drain in 8 ours @1200 Mhz @ night @ wifi )
Ive disabled 3G on my phone, only 2G. tobad, but only way to have a good battery life.
I also tried new batteries, the Big one 3500 Mah, not any improvements, the 1950 andida battery is a good one. but they all are not worth the money compared with the less battery usage improvements,
Hope this helps a little in the search for a bettery battery life with our phone.
Regards,
WyCkson

You do realize its capacity is anywhere from 2500 mAh to 3100 mAh, not really 4000 mAh? It's physically impossible to fit bigger higher capacity cells into single OEM battery size. Typically these ebay batteries, like Golden 4200 mAh, are closer to 2500 mAh (I have tested a few), but from your screenshots and the fact it costs over $10 - I think its safe to assume it will be closer to OEM 3100 mAh. Just gotta watch out for any bulging which happens with these over time especially when you charge them at full 2A speed, and you probably going to notice performance to go down in about 3-4 months.
Sorry bro, didn't mean to rain on your parade. It's just a fact with these ebay batteries.

Well it doesn' t seem much, if any, better than stock battery.
It is surely better than my stock battery. So it can't be less than 3100mah. Has to be higher.
It is not physically impossible. Not sure where you got that info from.
You didn't rain on my parade. I have results to prove it. My stock battery is now used as back. No use for it day to day now.
Only idiots buy golden battery lol.

Ooh, you just offended a bunch of people on this forum who got Golden batteries hoping they will get 4200 mAh for $6
Unless you have some latest ground breaking info about new development in battery cell density, Samsung used the highest density battery in their OEM footprint. It's a fact. The only way to maximize it was by doubling the size, thus all the reputable companies had double thickness/capacity with 6200 mAh batteries and Zerolemon had it at triple with 9300 mAh. The only company that was able to squeezed a bit more was Mugen who does their own development and was able to squeeze in 6400 mAh in double capacity.
To verify capacity of your battery, looking at performance with screen on time, etc is not accurate. Especially since you are comparing it to an original battery with aged performance. You need to get an external hardware battery tester where you charge the battery to a full capacity and let it discharge down to 2.4V cutoff voltage while monitoring the actual current drain over time to get the exact capacity in mAh.
Btw, just for sh!ts'n'giggles, take the label off your battery to see what is stamped in there as actual capacity
I dont need to get anything. ..
My real world usage proves this last longer than my stock battery. I bought this battery to use as a backup but now my stock battery is the backup.
Are you saying mu screenshots are fake?
Also if you're point was valid, aa batteries come in one size right?
Why are there 800mah, 1200mah and 1600mah aa batteries?
I am happy and surprised with my purchase. Doesn't matter what you might think. My screen shots prove it.

Chill bro, I'm not doubting your screenshots or your experience. As I said, it sounds like you probably got 3100 mAh battery. That's all. As someone who reviews a lot of accessories and gadgets on XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192333) and helps other members on this forum, I just want to be sure other people are not mislead by thinking they can get 4000 mAh battery because Note 2 battery with such capacity doesn't exist. Period. Neither does anything over 3200 mAh since I remember testing my Anker 3100 mAh to be slightly higher then stock capacity. The screenshots are real, I'm not doubting it, but that is call a "relative test" to another reference of someone else using stock capacity battery under different conditions with different setting and running different apps. We had people reporting poor performance with ZL 9300 mAh while the fact is they were comparing it to stock battery performance from 3-4 months ago when they had different setup with different apps, etc.
Just calm down, enjoy your battery, and spend a little bit of time reading this website with a lot of Note 2 battery reviews and explanation how they really being tested: http://www.batteryreview.info/
Ok just making sure you aren't hating lol.
I didnt say I believe it to be 4000mah. I just believe it is higher than 3100mah because it lasts longer.

We only got love on this forum
It lasts longer cause its a new 3100 that hasn't degraded like the one you are currently used to.

It's probly a case of new 3100MAH compared to your used original 3100MAH
Only new battery tech could squeeze juice more into the same physical battery.
New battery tech wouldn't be sold for $14. :good:
Anyway at $14 that's not bad. Let us know how it performs over time. Cheaper than buying an original Samsung 3100mah
Just got this
Just got this battery and managed to last over 7hrs of onscreen time doing mostly messaging, web browsing, watching videos off the microsd card and youtube.
Auto-brightness was set to about 30% (was more than sufficient for an overcast day and 8 hours in the office).
Had location services turned on, gmail and Exchange syncing. Also had music playing (Poweramp) for most of the work day.
Hope this helps any others looking to give this a try.
No idea if I will get this sort of screen time on the stock battery as I've only had a half day use of it (bought the phone used off ebay and got the extended battery at the same time).
I get these same stats on my stock battery. Running ADHD 18 with latest Perseus kernel

Im not impressed
As i can see your screen on time is just 4+ hours, i can say im getting somewhat 6-7 hours screen on time with my 7 months old stock sammy battery
As far as I'm aware the Mugen battery is the best available at 3200mah. The Anker one being a better value for money choic3 at slightly higher than stock.
I have no way of actually testing this though, but there's no way the OP's battery is anywhere near 4000mah.
On a similar note, does anyone know of any tools to accurately measure these battery capacities?
–edit sorry wrong link that was for testing cords not batteries

I see the reviews here are pretty old now.... so can anyone of you update the status of your battery performance now?
im sorry but i think zerolemon is better with 9300 if u dont mind the bulk
