Need Clockworkmod - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Android Development

sadly I just got my Note today, and believe me I love it, but I cant seem to find clockworkmod for my device, I have seen several root + CWM but the links are dead, I rooted my device through Superoneclick and well I would like to get chainfire3D, and yet I have no luck finding the right recovery, which well need a tar file to flash through Odin, thanks in advanced for anybody's help

There are several how to videos you can find. Look for one click root if you only want to root. It is about as easy as you get. It was created by TGA Gunman. Or you can search for the Clockworkmod update.zip and place that in the root of your SD card. Then you would be able to install a Rom without actually needing to root your phone first.
Also please make sure to post questions in the proper section. You will have the wolves after you for posting a general question in dev

captivates are difficult to brick, but not impossible

[ASK]Answers to all your questions...!

Hey guys i am starting this thread here as i find there are so many people asking questions and bricking their phones.I just want to help out people and save them from bricking their phones..
i have tried all Froyo based roms available for the captivate.i have good experience in rooting, clockworkmod and flashing roms.I would like to help out all new members here as much possible because just 2 months back i had trouble finding out things...
So what are you guys waiting for ask away....!
P.S:also i kindly request the other senior members and developers here to correct me if i am wrong anywhere and ya i dont want any donations....
Hey, I'm working on something with a similar spirit as this.
A work in progress: self help brick recovery guide
If you would want help out with this. I believe that it could help the q&a and other section of the captivate thread a lot by reducing the number of brick threads
If either of you have experience with web coding, perhaps it would be worthwhile to make up a page that has an interactive checklist of brick steps. Sort of a step-by-step troubleshooter.
For example, the first page could just be the question about whether the phone shows any signs of life at all or not, then have a page with selectable items about the Rom/kernel/modem setup, then move into more specific items.
See the attached zip for what I'm talking about.

But i will be focussing on problems of members other than bricking and also i believe prevention would be better than cure....!

I saw the zip and got what you are saying i liked it. I have a decent hold over html & java so i must be able to create that....!
But i will need space to host it....!
Perhaps in lieu of hosting space, save it as an all-in-one zip file and post it on here. You wouldn't need a large amount additional space (I assume) as there probably wouldn't be a huge need for images. If that's the case, it would be all text, which should be fairly small.

true it wont be a big zip file......!

Wow jmtheiss you took my idea to the next level, i never though of making it interactive. But that my be the key that really will make it work.
sorry adicool I'm no good with HTML or coding i will have to leave that to you. But I have a knack for graphic design. Plus I can find and collect the images that could be use as examples (ex. like a soft brick screen)

Looks good to me. Clean, simple, easy to follow.
A good starting point, if you need any help feel free to ask.
Thought here: The one package is good. I'm also thing that we can have each section posted package as a separate package too (along with the whole package). So those who only need one thing like rooting the can just download that section
Hi! I'm new to the forums and need some help. I have stock I897UCKB1, sucessfully rooted and unlocked it. I would like to try out some ROMs, CM7 first. How should i start? I assume i have Eclair/Froyo bootloaders, right? I've installed ROM Manager Premium, clicked flash clockworkmod, and to reboot to recovery but it's only stock recovery. How should i proceed? Also i need some enlightment on bootloaders: if i flash the newest GB ATT bootloaders will every ROM work with it? Thanks in advance!
Go to the general section, there is a thread called "sticky roll-up" in there is a link to a thread called "e: signature verification failed" that is the work around you need for cwm (or any zip) to flash
Or you can flash a froyo kernel that has cwm baked in with odin like speedmod...
I wouldn't mess with bootloaders st this point in your flashing experience that its the only time you risk a real hard brick do leave those alone until you know for sure what you're doing.
I totally forgot about muse, so here's my on take of the guide.

I would advice you to first try flashing a few froyo based roms just to gain experience in flashing after that you can move over to GB
as told by my friends here there is a thread here that fixes that cwm problem .!
If you still need help or cant find it do post here and i would be more than happy to help...!whatever you do just dont mess with bootloaders atm as they can cause your device to be bricked...
I would say start off first by flashing cognition 4.5.3....!

[Q] Tough One - Hung on Samsung Logo, no recovery mode - must keep pics!

Basically my phone is stuck on the GT-N7000 Samsung Logo screen.
Would love if somebody could make my day and tell me how I can restore my phone with it's pictures.
I know this is not as simple as it sounds but I have read a thread that explains something about non-wiping ROMs / upgrade ROMs? Is this true?
Notes:
I have a stock ROM (I bought the phone via Amazon Germany though).
Never tried to place another ROM onto phone.
I cannot go into recovery mode.
I am able to go into download mode.
I have heard of this ODIN but not familiar.
Heeelp!

If you do not want to listen and do not want to read yourself (at least the first few posts with the tutorials) then why do you cry for help?
And answer in such an idiotic behavior?
Don't you think that it is this way of ignorance that is resulted in your "bricked" device?

Are you kidding me!? You're honestly a senior member? Calling my response idiotic is probably a little ironic. Let me explain why...
Firstly, I'm not going to waste too much of my time replying to you but my concern was that during the 501 pages of the thread something may changed from the start, I can't be sure how accurate the first posts are, which I feel is a valid point 1.
As for the bricked device, the phone became bricked itself due to no fault of my own, other people have experienced the same thing, I have avoided popping ROM's onto the phone to avoid voiding my warranty, I did not tamper with anything, this is valid point 2.
If you have nothing positive to contribute to this thread please refrain from adding any further comments, or take a chill pill and use a little empathy senior member.
I should also add that:
- I eeked at the 501 pages - I was not being condescending.
- I believe that there is a difference between ROM's that completely flash the whole memory and upgrade ROM's that will retain, hence why I asked the question, about 'upgrade' ROM's.
If you want to pull the pictures from the phone internal memory you can use a pc program called adb.exe, but you need to be in download mode.

Except he is right. This has been discussed. You're method is to read that thread. This is a website (or at least is supposed to be) for users that are willing to read the guides people have slaved to create
Everything you need to know is there.
And absent hardware failure, a phone doesn't brick itself.
Read dr.ketan thread on how to flash a stock ROM via PC Odin from download mode. The guide is current. This is the only answer you will receive here.

Thanks Ranger Captain! Much appreciated. I'll look into this!
The expert on adb.exe is a user nemed studacris. I think it would be ok to PM him and get the specifics of the command.
Roughly, connect the phone to the pc in download mode, open a command window, navigate to your adb directory, type adb device to confirm the connection, then type adb pull \directory name\all files /directory on pc and the files will transfer from the internal phone memory to your pc.

When you come across a 501 page thread and say the answer is there and current for people who are willing to read there is a bit of a problem here.
I was hoping a tech Guru on here who is familiar with my problem could help summarise key points relevant to my problem.
I am willing to concede after some of you have eluded to much of the information is in the first few pages. Thank you.
As for bricking - there has been corruption of what seems to be the firmware, which not is of the question, what point are you making? If you read a few other threads, others have experienced similar issues with attempting to update their ROM's.

Hey man. All you need to do is read the first post of dr.ketan's thread. Good luck. If flashing a stock ROM via PC Odin doesn't work, per the isnstructions on that thread, I will personally be more than glad to help. But that IS your first step.
There is nothing to summarize. Follow the procedure in that thread OP. You don't have to read ANY of the thread except the guide. If it doesn't help you get up and running, feel free to PM me or post here. But when someone tells you to read a thread you must realize they are probably referring to the Original Post. If you are told to search (xda users rule #1), then that is a different story. For example, if you said 'how do I Use an OTG cable', I would say 'search this thread for the keyword otg'. Nevertheless, that is not the case here. There is a specific guide in the OP of that thread that describes what your first step to fix your device should be. Once that has been exhausted, please feel free to ask for further guidance.
Take care and good luck.

Would you mind advising of how the thread can ensure that my data will not be deleted?

Need Help Restoring HTC: No OS, No TWRP Recovery

So I wanted to revert back to HTC Sense, but not enough careful reading caused me this, which I've been working on for hours now. I was on Cynogenmod before. Phone is S-ON, unlocked, and has TWRP installed, but the problem is there is no recovery. The other big problem is there is also no OS. Phone also is not detected by computer, so I can't just drag a file onto the phone and flash it again. Is buying a USB OTG cable the only option at this point?
This is the most common question asked about here, why not do some research about it?
same here, i have recovery but its not helping much. no OS and cant get in Download Mode to flash via Odin.

At the top of the Q&A section is a welcome message, and several stickies, may I invite you to start reading there
in particular the Frequently Asked Question sticky, and on page 3 you would see the answers you're looking for.
Alternatively, almost every other thread in here has the same situation, so please remember forum rules, and search and read.

thank you for that. Fastboot was my solution.

Help! I did something stupid.

I was using safestrap to try and install a custom rom, I wiped my stock rom but my phone ended up dying (I didn't see that the charger wasn't plugged in) now I can't do anything at all. IT just gets stuck on the samsung galaxy s5 logo. I cannot flash any AP I just get an auth failed error. I tried using the G900AUCU3BOC4_OneClick but I get an error on that as well. Please help me. I figured that I don't have an OS to boot into now. And I cant downgrade from 5.0 am I screwed?
So you can't put your phone into download mode and ODIN your old firmware back on to the phone?
Please post everything ODIN shows when you attempt so we can try and help you further. Might want to try flashing with the BL and PIT file as well.
P.S. I don't know what G900AUCU3BOC4_OneClick is, but google took me to
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/att-galaxy-s5-lollipop-update-odin-firmware-80652/
And that doesn't look legit. Make sure you get all of your firmwares from here or sammobile.com. The "Odin" on that page doesn't even look like odin.
at&t s5 active sm-g870a
I was trying to root my phone following instructions on this site.
I installed the NE4 that was about 10+mb.
then I got stuck on the screen with red font that says "android system recovery <3E>"
I can still flash in download mode.
I attempted to install the full NE4 available from this site which is about 2.3 gig and it says FAIL! (Auth)
So then i attempted to load NG3 available from this site and it was sucessful but I'm still stuck on the "android system recovery boot.
Would anyone happen to know where I might get the "G870AUCU280F3 ROM"?
Also does anyone know what NAND erase all does when the box is checked in Odin 3.09?
Im thinking about checking that box and trying again.
for now I'm thrilled that I can still get to download mode and I don't want to mess that up.

thank you so much sir, but i do not understand your post.
I do very little with computers and internets and forums.
I've been scouring this site for the info i need and I'm either not smart enough to know what i'm looking for or this site is so vast that it may take more than a few days to learn how to navigate it.
I will say that I find it unsettling that the forum doesn't seem to recognize that our phones (sm-g870a) even exist, as evidenced by typing s5 active in the equipment box.
but meanwhile i will search for a general section.

if you have a question, please submit your own question in this thread instead of hijacking somebody else's question with an off-topic one. I suggest you take XRange's advice and check the "General" section of the "AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5" thread.

Had you checked the general section, you would see that the 4th post down is exactly what you are looking for.

Also, S5 actives do not need a separate thread, they are identical hardware-wise to the S5.

I can get into download mode just fine. However, when I try to flash it. I get the fused binary error. Regardless of the firmware.

At this point I recommend you try and use Samsung's Kies software to restore your phone to factory, then you can start over with rooting or flashing roms.

Please note that the link on that page to download kies is broken, so you can find kies here (you will want to download kies3):

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Thank You sean89us, and sorry I didn't mean to hijack your thread RobotX, i just figured that if were in the same predicament whatever fixes yours may fix mine.
My bad
kies says it is not compatible with the phone so I had to install a new program which acted like it was going to do the trick. After 3 hours, It quit and told me that it was unable to complete the task.
