Galaxy SIII

Hi,
I have just came back from the SIII event, just wanted to know what you guys thought? I am not a fan of Samsung, especially with the TouchWiz UI but I liked the features... I also thought it looked like a Galaxy Mini...
What do you think?

I am still getting the galaxy nexus as GS3 is not that much greater then it and it has TW
Plus it probaly will rollout onto sprint when the GS4 is announced

i like the features and specs of the s3. but i'm currently happy with my s2 - i just need a phone for daily normal use. i don't really need a quadcore just yet. lol
I'll just wait for a nice smartphone on 2013 or 2014.

I like Galaxy S3...very much...:=)design is so cool!

why need 4 core for phone? games? our pc also cannot take full advantage from 4 core when play game. other thing.
nowday, the phone vendor wan earn high profit keep update our phone spec maybe later 8 core 4gb ram etc after haft year etc but actually wad you wan by using 4 core and 1-2 gb ram. for show off to friends? find the place burn money?
if you wan smooth phone wihout lag get s2 ,, s2 spec more than enough for play games.

I dont think so that there would b any.. Coz our Phone's camera doesnt have that power to shot slow motion...

The price is lesser than htc One X and htc One S. All with ICS, and the latest version of Sense UI. Definitely will be a killer !!

I like my Galaxy Nexus. It's a nice size with a big screen, no disturbing hardware buttons on the front and thus a little more customizable than most devices and really beautiful, built for AOSP, and has a great community ... what more could I possibly want at the moment? =D

I would really love to have an SGSIII and a Nexus 7. Love 'em. But instead, stuck with an SGY!

I really like the HTC one X, if I were to get a new phone right now thats the phone that i'd probably choose. I also really like the galaxy s2; but I wouldnt really like to get a new phone thats "old" in regards to the phones that are out now... but the s2 is still a badass phone

Yea i completely agree with you, being that its built for AOSP, it is more customizable and more tweaks can be made from a development perspective

Phones:
Galaxy nexus > bc it has a great community behind it and its just awesome
Motorola ATRIX ( all 3 of them) > great price for what u get. The only bad thing is that moto likes to lock them down.
Tabs:
Nexus 7 > for the two reasons mentioned above. Great price great specs and awesome dev work on it

Ubuntu Phone image availability

Hey!
We're preparing an image for Ubuntu for Phones and it should be available towards the end of February. You can keep up to date by joining our irc channel #ubuntu-phone on Freenode IRC or by madly pressing F5 on the Ubuntu Wiki page (http://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuPhone) which is called UbuntuPhone over the next two months

Nexus and HTC aren't mutually exclusive brands, but yes Canonical said the initial images will be for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I'm sure there will be unofficial ports as well.

An unlockable bootloader Intel Atom based phone (Motorola RAZR i) would also be a great project. I noticed in the information it says that Intel Atoms can run the higher-end Ubuntu Phone OS. I am imagining the possibilities here of x86 Ubuntu Phone

Why?!? Touchwiz sucks compaired to sense. That's coming from a recovering Samsung fanboy. I had used all the generations of touchwiz and sense was always better. If you're gonna use a different company's launcher use Sony's.

I was trying to find the same thing and did a bit of searching. As far as I can tell nobody has really fully ported it over yet but I could be wrong though, hopefully one of the devs who knows more can chime in with an answer...
