[Info] "fd_not_activated" and "apntype: default" logging flood both fixed for v20o - LG Optimus 2x

[Info] "fd_not_activated" and "apntype: default" logging flood both fixed for v20o
This is just for your interest and only concerns u if your network provider does not have fast dormancy enabled and you are receiving a logging flood (fd_not_activated and "apntype: default") due to this which seems to decrease battery life sometimes rapidly.
I managed to increase the fast-dormancy-timer from 1000 milliseconds (= 1 second) to 31337 milliseconds (about 31 seconds).
So your logs won't be flooded anymore if your network does not support fast dormancy.
They also won't be flooded by the apntype: default message any more -- this message will only appear from time to time (and then 4 or 5 in a row).
This fix will be incorporated and first available to public along with my new v20o custom ROM I am working on, and hopefully it will increase battery life for non-fd-user noticeably.
I still have to check if there are any side effects but it doesn't seem so.
Good night and merry x-mas all
Update: found the method with the command accessing the RIL and telling it to activate fast dormancy. set it to false all the time and removed flooding logs. looks good for me

that would be great! hope it will work!

Update: next step for me will be to completely disable Fast Dormancy. It is definitely possible. Just need some more time.
Edit: ok think i fixed it. found the method with the command accessing the RIL and telling it to activate fast dormancy. set it to false all the time and removed flooding logs. looks good for me

Hi, thank you for your efforts. I'm using your current SR1 kernel release ROM. Can you please explain when this is important? Is it applicable to GSM/EDGE or just UMTS?
edit:
Nevermind, I just read in the v20o thread that it seems to be a 3G issue.

But most European GSM providers support fastdormancy and the reason we use it is because it saves battery when you want speed (hsdpa) and battery (jump back to umts). We need to fix fastdormancy, not disable it
A better solution would be to find a way to force the phone to only UMTS to not jump to hsdpa. If you could dig through the RIL and find it that would be awesome.
For v20o we just need the right baseband

as per some posts in SGS2 forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111581&page=13
better data connexion with FD off, but we must try to see the battery life.. in my case my provider doesn't support FD

my provider supports fd, but still have the fd bug. think its better to turn it off...

Reverse engineering the dalvik bytecode / smali is a pain in the ass. it would really be too difficult to try to fix fast dormancy instead of turning it off. fixing is the job of LG`s DEVs which have access to all the source code and not only bytecode and reverse engineered parts. my provider does not support fast dormancy and there are others too and for those turning off fd is nothing bad at all. just writing from a fixed rom, battery life seems improved for me

thanks!! i have the "apntype: default" flood with every rom and every baseband: hope you can release the fix soon!

My new rom will be finished soon, just implementing some last features and testing. fd is disabled. once released you can take the corresponding files from my rom and use it with any other v20o rom. maybe i will also make a fd-disable mod for v20l/m ..

Signal Problems on Custom Rom

Alright,
First, Here is what im using currently:
My Own Rom
-Cooked with Dsixda's kitchen
-Based on rdannar's Barebones 10e froyo rom
-With my own custom bootanimation
-Go Launcher instead of SonyErricsson
-some various build.prop tweaks [hsupa cat.,lcd density(changing quite often so i can use a lower density and still use the market... ugh!)]
-And bedwa's thrillz v3 kernel cooked in
And my issue is:
At random times i will have a complete loss of service. Usually what happens is, im texting someone back and forth and when i go to text them back, my text wont send! so, i retry sending... doesnt work. Usually the only way i can make it work is to reboot, however a few times putting it into airplane mode and then back out has worked.
Now, i know what your thinking, its probably my rom... But i am fairly certain i had this issue when i was using just the barebones 10e rom, and i cant remeber exactly but i think i had the problem once back when i was on gtg465x's thriller v1.1.0 rom with my own OC kernel.
So, basically im just curious if anyone else has had this problem as well, or if anyone has a fix for me?
anybody who wants to post their:
-APN settings
-build.prop network categories
-and other build.prop settings
-or anything else
would be appreciated.
thanks
Had that problem
On every rom

Sounds like it could be many possible things... Myself I'm on Roadrunner and whatever beta kernel I'm tweaking with my Thrillz line (Currently on BetaV4.) and I haven't had any issues. Then again I'm not sending SMS/MMS. I do all of that through Google Voice as I have SMS blocked. (old UNL Data FTW)
Is it primarily when sending SMS or MMS?
Were you able to fix it ever rdannar?
I do a lot of texting so typically yeah it is when im using messaging but I'm pretty sure that a few of the times it has just been when trying to use the browser...
Usually happens once the screen has been off for a while, then I turn it on, try and use an app that uses data, and then it it just never connects... until I restart.
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda premium
Another question is have you guys tried one of the 920h basebands as well. I have a signal drop on rare occasion, but nothing truly affecting service. It has to be one of 3 factors. Kernel, Baseband, Rom.
I have tried everything except 920h... people have always reported signal drop with this device. The hard part is it only uses hspa + so it doesn't usually catch 3g signals much.... at least that's what I've read about... try and take out hspa and network tweaks out of the build prop to see if that helps
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Hspa+ is nothing more than a network improvement on UMTS (Standard 3G). It almost sounds like the radio.
Yeah I don't know why, but every custom rom I've tried on this phone has crap signal.
Dec 14
On the 14th (wednesday) im gonna start chasing down the cause of my signal problems using some of your suggestions. I have to take my finals and finish up some final papers then i'm going to dive back in to trying to help make the thrill awesome.

Good luck with finals and we'll be here
I think i figured it out!
So, finals went well... (i think), I still havent gotten my grades back...
But, i wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache, and wiped dalvik. Then flashed the latest Doomed froyo w/ OC (thanks Urabewe) just to have a fresh start. Finally, i started playing with the build.prop network tweaks and almost everything i did had a negative effect on network speed and consistency of the connection. [also, im pretty sure the doomed build.prop did not include any of the common network speed tweaks, i.e. hsdpa cat, etc.]
So, in short, i am pretty sure the build.prop stuff was my problem.
However, i am going to continue testing various ro.ril build.prop tweaks and various apn settings; to hopefully find out what build.prop tweaks will have a negative effect and if any will have a positive effect, and what apn setup works best. I will post anything significant i discover in this thread...
Thanks for the build.prop suggestion, i had suspected that was my problem...

[Tweak] Fast Dormany complete deactivation for Gueste2x v2.1/2.2/GoodBye

Flashing this file will completely disable fast dormancy (not only the logging) for your gueste2x v2.1 or gueste2x v2.2 or gueste2x GoodBye ROM.
Your phone won't try to activate FD any longer.
This can be helpful if your provider does not support fast dormancy and might result in longer battery service life.
Install: just flash via CWM
Do not try to flash this file on v20O ROMs. Boot will fail for sure.
Does this make it stick to hsdpa? Or to umts?

Which means that it will jump to HSDPA, but stay on H longer before moving back to 3g. Since HSDPA consumes more battery (why otherwise is there need for FD in the first place), it should hurt battery-life.
However... since for v20o we do not have a baseband that prevents FD issues, disabling it is for sure a better solution compared to the phone to keep trying and logging about it.
I am now on v20o, could you maybe apply this trick to the framework.jar i've attached here from Hypnos v2.0 sp1?

What you are saying / explaining, is that not using fast dormancy will consume more battery than using it. That's clear and has never been brought up for discussion.
Like I said, this file can be helpful, if your provider does not support fast dormancy (because fast dormancy has to be implemented by your mobile phone network in order to use it).
And if it is the case that your network doesn't support FD, then it is useless (and battery consuming) for the phone to try every xxxx milliseconds to enable FD.

Sorry, currently not (don't really have time ATM)! But it's no big deal, I'm sure somebody else will do soon.
However, there has already been my log spamming fix for v20o, so at least it won't spam your log any longer.

this is mayby to hard to do without sources but
i am using MIUI in the dmesg i can't find a thing about fast dormancy so i assume it is not built in but i am on T-Mobile NL and they support FD
and since FD can improve battery life on my iPhone it extend my battery life almost by 30%
so i got this question
is there a way to activate fast dormancy?
Guys can somebody tell me how to check if FD is on or off? cause i applied the patch that gueste gave with the smother scrolling, but i change the kernel so i think is on again
Can we just not use a dialer code like on the SGSII where they just dial *#9900# to disable FD?

Any news on FD problems/solutions?
Tried to enable/disable it by using setprop, but not sufficient, and even if, the value seems fixed whatever I define.
On CM7/Kang : it stays at "1"
On CM9/Kang : it stays at "0"
Any patch available for CM7/Kang? (I don't know if it's enable or disabled by default on CM7Kang). And last but not least, does anyone have a feedback on some other tweaks like the ro.ril.fast.dormancy.timeout effects?
Thanks

Thanks man, but tried both the patches (gueste and this one, none works). I'm under CM7Kang.
Found a "simple way" (but I've got to check if this really works) :
build.prop modified => reboot => the option is activated
ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule = 0
ro.ril.fast.dormancy.timeout = 3
also did : ro.ril.sbm.feature = 0
Will check what it does, and if it's really efficient, but my logcat doesn't complain about Dormancy, and no network problem for the moment... Wait & See!

[Q] 3G not available after turn off WiFi

This is my first post, so first of all, hi everyone. I'm having a strange issue with CM9 by Owain94, as many others as I have seen in multiple threads (even with ICS Nova), but no solution is provided nowhere until now.
After certain time connected to WiFi, at the moment of disable it, 3G is not available (signal bars stay greyed, browser and mail apps fails to connect, and so on). Only toggle between airplane mode and normal mode, or reset the device, solves the problem. I tried multiple solutions (GSM Auto PRL vs WCDMA prefered, disable automatic time and date, multiple combinations of BB/RIL) but none is working for me.
Has anyone been able to solve this problem?
If helps, this is my actual configuration:
CM9 Unofficial by Owain94 build 33
Baseband 313
RIL 405 V10c Spain
Coming from Ultra Wipe (term is mine): back to Stock Froyo, root, update to CM7, update to CM9
Thanks in advance.

No solution, but a workaround:
Try Toggle2G app.
Well, I'm on CM7.2 RC1, but I suppose there is a Power control widget too. If you try to add it, there are some actions you can change - like "WiFi enables 3G" (3G when WiFi is disabled), but there are more.
I'm thinking if that can be a workaround (or even a source of problem, but if it does even on the stock rom..).

Thanks, I'll try until a solution will be provided.
This afternoon I'm discovered some interesting things. A few days ago, I tried through the service menu (aka *#*#4636#*#*) the GSM Auto PRL solution given by others, but it didn't work for me, probably because I was restarting the phone just after select the cited network mode. But todat, thinking about (arrjj) I'm discovered that after restart, the phone backs automatically to the previouos WCDMA Preferred mode (I remember that behavior from old days with CM7).
So I changed the network mode, wait for the phone to reconnect prior left the service menu, and voila!! 3g connectivity did not drop after connect to a wifi network for a while.
Because CM9 does not have an option in Network Settings to set the preferred network mode (as had CM7), neither the service menu appears to save this information in a persistent way, I tried to find out where such information was stored. Multiple locations appear to do it. First is /system/build.prop:
#ro.telephony.default_network=0
This value stands for the network modes supported by Android:
0 - WCDMA Perferred
1 - GSM Only
2 - WCDMA Only
3 - GSM/WCDMA (auto PRL)
4 - CDMA / EVDO Perfered
After uncomment the line, change the value and reset the phone, 3g drop still occurs (service menu stay stuck on WCDMA Preferred)
Next site to looking for is the database /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db. Whitin it, there is a table named secure in which you can found a data row like the following (column headers are drawed for clarity):
id | name | value
-------------------------------------
84 | preferred_network_mode | 0
So next step was change it. From a shell console, I ran the following commands:
$ su
# cd /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
# sqlite3 settings.db
sqlite> update secure set value="3" where name="preferred_network_mode";
After reset the phone, 3g drop still occurs (same symptom as earlier).
So none of these solutions are working for me, neiter individually nor in conjunction. What is clear, at least for me, is that the data connectivity drop occurs due the default network mode (WCDMA Preferred) in my rom (CM9 by Owain94 - build 35), and the impossibility of change it persistently.
Devs are tracking the bug, it seems to be an issue with routing network process, when wifi is disabled, there should be a route modification to enable gsm network, and that fails for an unknown reason yet (a daemon isn't properly launched, or dies too early).
This process wasn't used in GB, that's why you don't have this bug with 2.3 roms.

After a few months uninstalled (those kept on CM9), I've also discovered that the problem emerges when JuiceDefender joins into the equation. After stop it, data comes back again successfully.

[Q] A ROM that simply works[Solved]

I'm currently using CM7.2 by Mebitek and I must say it is running very smoothly with stability. But recently, I've been having problems with my wifi and 3G data not connecting. It's probably because of the Kickass kernalizer script.
Anyway, I wish to know which is the most stable ROM and which scripts or mods can be used with it. Also, which scripts should one stay away from while using the said custom ROM. Doesn't matter if it is CM7 or stock based.
Here is what I use my smartphone for: calls, sms, email, web browsing, YouTube, and Amazon Kindle. I use wifi and 3G.
Please suggest something. I've messed around with a lot of Custom ROMs(I had fun while doing it) and now I wish to have a phone that I can rely on in times of need.
TL;DR: Need to know which is the most stable custom ROM and which scripts can be used with it.
Solved:
Mebitek's CM7.2.0 RC1 v1.0
With:
1) Slaidyboost V2.3
2) Darktremor's a2sd
3) Beats Audio
4) BraviaMegaBass
Issues: Google Play Store error 492. Unable to delete dalvik-cache. Unable to uninstall an app.
Issues 2: Getting system FC sometimes in v1.2.
MORe ROM with Slaidyboost:
1) Rebooted while I was showing off. So embarrassed.
Andro-ID v3.2 without any scripts:
The most stable and smooth ROM among all of the above.
Andro-ID v3.3.1 without any scripts:
Stable but a little slow sometimes.
you can try MORe v1 by godell
stable, fast, and it includes slaidyboost script too
RC 5.3 with slaid shuld give a good battery and stability
Andro-id 3.3.1with slaid but I still dint test that rom for connectivity issues...give it a try..
Cyanmobile and sliad was good for me...well of course I had a force or sleep of death atleast once a day, rather than that, everything shuld be fine.
Emanon V3 with slaid is good too..
P.S -- Sucks to say but I don't use 3G coz I like airtels connectivity and it sucks in terms of 3G coz thhey rob us....lol
And off-topic - does docomo has good 3G plans? Want to change to 3G badly...

Sure, no problem.
For CM7 RC5.3, should I install the updates too? There are 4 updates there. One says "(Outdated. Do not install.)".

Apply 1st 2nd and optional updates....no need for outdated one as its included in 2nd.. also dwnld slaid...its working wonders for me
I have just tried lots of different Roms.
I've finally settled on emanoN version 6. this is the only rom I've tried that has had no force close at all.
it does have issues with disappearing icons from the draw and the home screens, installing adw launcher totally cured it.
I don't tinker with any settings and am not interested in over clocking as performance is ok.
I use wifi and 3g intensively and have had no problems with lost connections.
I use aldiko for most books, and coolreader for books in plain text format.
also installed the gingerbread keyboard.
would highly recommend it.
I'm unable to turn off the 'Automatic Brigtness' option in RC5.3. Can someone please help me with that?
@top_Score: Thanks for detailed answer, friend. I'll try that too. Actually, I'm going like this: Take advice from the guy with the highest thanks meter. If unsatisfactory, take advice from the next highest thanks meter fellow till satisfactory results are obtained.
Andro-ID v3.2
But don't use any scripts.

Cheers.. give a try to all these roms and suit yoursrlf...

The mini has got no auto brightness sensor. So don't care about the option. The option is only for phones which support it.
The developer hasn't deleted the option. You can try kittenlunix cm7. He has deleted unsupported options from the rom.

Oh that's fine. I want to turn on the 'Status bar brightness control'. But the option to turn on the status bar brightness control is grayed out and it says 'Automatic brightness is enabled'. I attached a screenshot of that in my previous reply.
Hm i cant remeber that option. Squads rc 5.3 is a long time back.
On the other cm7 roms, like mebiteks, the option for changing brightness via statusbar is working.
Maybe you should try another version of squads rom.

It's hard to recommend since I also use the Mebitek's version (from Kittenlinux), I would suggest to remove that script and go for slaidy. For me it's the longest installed ROM I've used, the only nag is the Mobile Tethering is buggy (when I select it opens but you can't turn it off unless you start wifi).
But the stability is hardly compared by other ROMs.
Tree DreamW Rom batteri life 2g 3g umts all work nice overlocked at 740 go to 806 but i recomand 710 max 740

I'm currently testing the RC5.3 with slaidy and it seems to be very nice. I was just thinking about using slaidy with Mebitek's CM7.
When I was on Mebitek's ROM, I was using V6 supercharger and Kickass Kernelizer. I had problems like:
1) Settings would not stick. Example: Go to settings>Sound> Turn on Audible touch tones. Press back. Go to Sound again and see that "Audible touch tones" is off.
2) Google Play Store error.
3) When on wifi connection: Turn off wifi and wait for it to connIf it does not then turn on airplane mode, then turn off airplane modeect using 3G. If it gets connected to 3G then great. If it does not then turn on airplane mode, then turn off airplane mode. It should connect. OR just reboot with wifi off.
After sometime if you try to turn on wifi again: Error. Bang head on wall.
If it does not then turn on airplane mode, then turn off airplane mode
I suspect that the above problems I faced were because of the Kickass Kernalizer script, beause the script came with a warning.
Did you manage to handle the wifi hotspot issue? By using a third part app or something?

[Q] No 3g with CM 10.1 plus some other less severe issues

Greetings,
Just a few days ago I installed the most recent CM 10.1 nightly, first 20130319 and now updated to 20130323. For the most part, my phone is working well, but I do not have any 3g data service nor have I had it since installing CM 10.1.
I have a Droid 3 XT862 being used in the US on Verizon's CDMA network and placing and receiving calls works. I *can* send and receive SMS as well, although in a test I did toay I sent very short 25 character text from my Droid 3 on the Verizon network to another Android device on the Sprint network and it arrived a mere 2h15m later.
I have read many messages on this forum and others, but either the problem addressed is too far removed or the ideas/changes suggested are offered with little explantion as to why, so I am unsure if making any of these changes would be a good idea. I did read through the build.prop on my device and it certainly appears that it is more or less configured and ready for CDMA usage. I have performed a *228 PRL update, but it did not appear to help. CM 10.1 makes available, unlike the stock ROM, a menu/page full of mobile network settings. I have tried to work with some of these settings, toggles, preferred network types, and so on, but again none of these changes seems to have had an effect on my 3g data connection.
Am I doing something wrong? Does anybody know how to fix this? Or perhaps it is a new/temporary bug in CM 10.1?
As for the operation of everything else under CM 10.1, I like it very much. It is a very big step up from before, when I was first using stock Android 2.3.4 followed by the Maverick ROM, which, while better, sure liked to crash/reboot when under memory pressure. I do have a few issues that I hope others might be able to help with:
* The hardware keyboard's ALT key does not appear to work anymore which rules out half the symbols on the keyboard, making it far less useful. I also cannot use it any longer with VX ConnectBot as some of the mappings do not seem to work. For example, the "OK" key used to work as a CTRL key. Maybe these are related? Any idea how to fix this?
* The backlight on the hard buttons and on the keyboard was, previously, triggered by a light sensor (I think). Now the backlight comes on when there is any tapping, swiping, or button/key activity. That's fine, except that the timeout for the light is extremely short, on the order of about two seconds. In a dark environment, this can be annoying.
* It's slow... my god is it slow! I think this is due almost entirely to a severe lack of free RAM on the device, but I don't know what to do about it. Some programs, like GMail, take forever to start, while many others are just very slow to use/respond. I see the "Not Responding" popup appear *much* more than ever before, but, as I know these apps are just slow and not dead, I always just tap on "wait" and go on with what I was doing.
I really don't think I have that much running in the background or foreground to use all of this RAM. I have replaced Trebuchet with NemusLauncher in hopes of freeing some memory. I have three widgets only: a clock/weather widget, the standard calendar widget, and the Google Voice inbox widget. In the background, besides whatever Android and CM run, I have Google Voice and imo (the instant messanger) running. I believe that is it. Is there *anything* I can do to improve the speed issue? I understand how Android handles memory, so it is clearly not about just increasing the "free RAM" value. That said, however, it seems that if there were fewer apps trying to use the limited memory then this would naturally be higher to begin with.
I have a decent collection of apps, but the number is much smaller than in the past and most all of them should remain dormant unless I actually run them... or so I believe.
Okay, so those are the issues. I could add battery life and the camera to that list, but I have read on the forum that, no thanks to Motorola, the camera is unlikely to be available anytime soon, and I have also read that the battery issues should be resolved soon.
So, um... please help! And great many thanks to all of the hard working devs who bring us better software and especially to those who help those of us with devices that are practically *new* and yet abandoned by the carriers. Extra kudos to those finding ways to work around locked bootloaders and proprietary binary blobs.

Can you force it to EVDO only? And what happens in a stock ROM?
In the mobile network settings page, as mentioned above, I can, and have, tried many of the options. Among them is the preferred network type.
It defaults to 'global' which actually sets it to LTE/CDMA, though this is not an LTE device. I have tried all of the options that make sense (i.e. nothing GSM related). I have tried Evdo-only and currently have it set to 'CDMA/Evdo auto'.
None of these settings has changed anything. To test, I disable WiFi and see if I have a Net connection.
With the stock ROM, as well as the Maverick ROM, when I have 3g, the letters '3g' appear in the status bar next to the mobile signal strength icon and there are two small arrows to indicate I/O. This is what I expected to happen with CM.

I have a 3g update, but no solution yet.
In the mobile net settings page I have the network set to 'CDMA/EvDo auto'. Then I turn on airplane mode to force the radio off, then turn airplane mode back off.
The radio comes back and as it does I can see the network strength icon briefly add an R, presumably meaning reconnecting, followed by a 1x, and finally by a 3g. Then the 3g disappears. This entire sequence takes only about 3 to 5 seconds. If I do this while viewing Settings->About->Phone, I can see the current radio/network states change. Of course, I do all of this with my local wifi connection off.
Also, I did try a network type of 'EvDo only' and the above sequence still occurred but without the 1x step. However, this sequence didn't seem to occur as reliably as when the network is set to 'CDMA/EvDo auto'. For reference, the phone info page under settings indicates that this phone or network is 'CDMA - EvDo rev. A:6'.
So, it would seem 3g is at least possible, if fleeting. What should I do now? I really don't want to stop using CM 10.1.

Same issue here. No 3g. In the system status, it will briefly show the mobile network status as "connecting" then drop back to disconnected.
If you reboot into stock it works right?

Me or rocksolid99?
In my case, I, well, did not follow the correct Safestrap update procedure when I went from 1.x to 3.05. As such, I *think* my stock ROM may be slightly hosed. I *do* have a complete backup of the original stock that I created with Safestrap 1.x, but 3.05 does not "see" it when I tap on the "Restore" button in recovery. So, I have it, I'm just not sure what I should do if I really need to restore that backup.
However, I have installed the Minimoto 1.7 ROM into slot 2 in Safestrap 3.05 and if I use that ROM (which is a super stripped down Droid 3 stock) then 3g works just fine. I did not have any network/connection issues and did not need to take any extra steps to get 3g to work.

Really? Good to know. Thanks for the info.
If I might reiterate on my other CM 10.1 problem, they keyboard? Right now, the ALT key does not work which means that I cannot access most of the punctuation keys. Strangely, in many apps when I press ALT I will see the cursor change with the upside down triangle at the top of the cursor bar indicating that ALT has been pressed. Good, but if I press any other key it is not recognized. It is as though I had not pressed anything. The ALT indicator doesn't even change or go away. The only thing I can do is continue to press the ALT key to cycle through its states (off, one-key, locked). Could this also be a bug in CM 10.1?
Is there a better or more correct location to submit these issues? Since these issues are/may be bugs in CM 10.1, should I not submit a bug report directly?
Beyond the 3g/data and keyboard issue is the RAM usage. It uses a *lot* of RAM. Is this just the way it is? The Droid 3 lacks enough RAM to really make a serious go at Android 4.2?
Thanks again!

When Motorola hinted that this was the reason why the D3 and X2 would not get ICS, nobody believed them.
I think it's pretty clear that CM on the Droid 3 at the moment is alpha/beta status. If you want stability and full features, you need a Gingerbread ROM. Minimoto is best for me.

+1 anything above gingerbread is not stable. Some people manage to use them for daily drivers but they have to deal with the bugs. Myself, I need a camera and I need my phone to work all day, I use it for my job. As such, I run minimoto, as it is quite stable, and any bugs that do arise can be dealt with as it's based on gingerbread, which is stable on our devices. Liberty is also a good rom to use, it's based on an older system version but it's quite stable and has lots of features, as opposed to Minimotos minimalist goal.

has anyone tried making a swap partition for cm10.1 ?
I made it and it seems to be much much faster or the latest nightly (04/07/2013) is quicker.
anyhow I have it up only for about an hour it remains to be seen during the day how it's reacting

Have you (or has anyone) successfully booted CM10.1 on the XT860? I just get bootloops after install. MiniMoto has been working great for me though.
