Can you get into recovery? By taking battery out, putting it back in and press and hold vol down and power button to go to fastboot menu, then selecting recovery from there? If you can get into CWM, I would suggest then turning off again and going to fastboot again to flash the boot.img (located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19494357&postcount=18) in fastboot. Then follow shingers5 method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366238 and it should work...
If you can't get into CWM, get into fastboot and type this in command prompt ... fastboot oem relock and that will relock the bootloader so that you can flash a stock RUU rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317895 (Make sure you relock the bootloader before you flash the stock rom) and once you've done that you can then start again from the beginning

Wrong way at all...
Just flash your Stock-RUU to make your XL clean, if your bootloader is unlocked, you dont need to relock it, cause this might be the First step, otherwise you must Do it First....
Root isnt still there, so you can Do it as second step....
tapatraced with Sensation XL

right
- relock the bootloader as only way to return to stock.(fastboot oem lock from bootloader)
- flash one of the ruu.exe from runnymede official rom thread
- unlock boot loader again
- root
- CWM
- boot.img
- your choice of rom. you may or may not need the chinese rom as some have gone straight to flashing cappys from here but as i stated flashing the chinese rom guarantees success when trying to flash other customs. tried and tested and proven
hope that helps.

spot on mate!

So am I right in thinking that you have to relock bootloader to flash a stock rom because jammysunny makes it sound like I was wrong to suggest that... just so that I know if I ever need to do it

looks so !

surely it will be safer to relock your bootloader....
but to flash an RUU, I dont think so.....
Like the other HTCs, flashing RUU-Stock, all things went to Basics....
but shingers5 post would be right way...

yes you have too. if tried flashing ruu.exe without relocking bootloader it just sits at checking signature or sending................ nothing happens. ruu.exe reflashes the bootloader(hboot) hence returning everything to stock as if you had just bought the phone. i have tried both ways for testing purposes prior to posting advice. once bootloader is relocked you can then flash ruu.exe without issues.

yea it is safer to relock bootloader but also the only way to flash an ruu.exe once bootloader has been unlocked. yes it reverts all back to stock so phone is as new

Sensation XL instal Ruu.exe

Hi guys,
I'm new to the android world. I just got a HTC Sensation XL from a friend who says it doesn't work right anymore after he dropped it on the floor. So now I try to repair the thing, because I could keep it.
The problem ohone stuck on HTC Logo and won't boot. It's possible to get it in bootloader and it looks like this:
*LOCKED*
S-ON
HBoot: 1.25.0004
I dont get a connection to the PC, but after first time plug-in it installed the drivers.
So now my question is how can I get an new Ruu on this phone. What are the different possiblities.
Till now I downloaded this to versions:
2.31.401.2_Europe
1.05.401.4_Europe.
don't know which to use. Installed HTCSnyc to but it didn't find the phone.
So hope u guys will help me out
Thanks
Well I just tried 1.05.401.4but it didnt work. My CID is HTC_Y13.
Now downloading 2.31.401.2...
The 1.05 is for Gingerbread and the 2.31 is for ICS with sense 3.6. If you just want it stock and you are downloading 2.31.40.2 for europe then it should work. If it is not working, then take the long way.
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash a recovery
3. Root
4. S-off
Now after all this go run the ruu file and it should work.
Remeber after you have installed htc sync and you are going to try flash recovery or something , uninstall htc sync again.
Also a reminder , you can do the most of it via my tool, just not the unlock bootloader, that is still from htcdev.com but the tool will give you the code that is needed to copy into htcdev.com

Hey I don't get it. I want to try the "simple" way first. But what do I have to do? I uninstalled HTCSync now and unzipped zhe 2.31.401.2_Europe and now? How can i start this on my HTC Sensation XL? The phone doesn't get a connection with the computer. Should I put the phone in bootloader mode an then got to recovery ?
Sorry for this silly questions, I normally use an other OS instead of anroid. Maybe you can give me a link with a step by step intrduction or you can describe a little bit what I have to do.
Greetz
You will need to go and download it like an .exe file
The one you are missing for europe ICS is here : Download and boot phone normal and run the .exe file
if that link does not working then here and press the white button and this text : 下载
Hey thanks for the quick answer the problem is the phone stuck on HTC Logo and doesn't boot the symstem. Is there a possiblity to get a new Ruu version on it maybe with the bootloader? BEcasue bootlader starts and windows detects the phone.
then you either need to send it in or do it your self. Just unlock the bootloader and flash recovery, flash a rooted rom, boot it up and root it then s.off it and again from fully booted start the ruu file
Hmm ok than I have to do that, but do u have an step by step description what to do first, with what files?
Thanks for your help
go to the thread where you find my tool. runnymede AIO tool , in my signature
So it's me again.
I have now a cutsom ROM on my phone this one "Total_Senseless_SXL-v4.1.1"
My bootloader is unlocked and S-ON is still avaiable. How can I get now to a stock rom?
What do I have to use to relock my bootloader? After relocking I can install this ROM's?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791345
Or don't I have to relock it with the posted version of the thread? And I can simply "install" it like a custom rom?
Greetz
First i will like to ask you, what did not work with my tool ?
Next is try go to recovery and then mount sd card for pc.
Download my sd card fix from my signature and put it on the sd card and flash it. Then the sd card issue shold be gone
---------- Post added at 07:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:48 AM ----------
If it is from recovery that the sd card fails in then you have not installed a proper working recovery. You should be able to boot the phone up and then enable Debugging in settings on the phone and then press either CWM recovery or TWRP recovery in my tool and it should reboot to bootloader, flash the recovery then reboot to system again.
If it is not working for you. Please tell me it so i can fix it
Sv: Sensation XL instal Ruu.exe
Better to use TWRP recovery than cwm.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using xda app-developers app
My bad. 1.05.401.4 worked just fine when I put S-ON back and ran the file when phone was in fastboot.
Hi after a second try it worked. But I didn't test anything. Just installed a new CWM 6.anything I think.
So in this way there is nothing to fix on recovery mode or sd card. I just worked wrong with the program.
So I'm still on this custom rom: Total_Senseless_SXL-v4.1.1
can I simply take one of this versions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791345
and do it like the custom rom update? Means wipe all data and then install this ROM from the thread above ? Are these rom's stock rom's? Don't understand it because the thread title says stock AND root?
I just want to install a stock (original HTC) version on my custom rom
Sorry for the silly questions but there re so much guides that I don't know what to do

in serious need of help for the phone!!!!

Hi guys,
I'm new to the android world. I was playing around with my mum's HTC(was on ICS) and tried to root it, but im not sure if its rooted now, but i have ****ed the phone up hardcore
The problem is phone stuck on HTC Logo and won't boot. It's possible to get it in bootloader and it looks like this: I have unlocked it HTCdev.com
*UNLOCKED*
S-ON
HBoot: 1.28.0004
RADIO-3831.15.00.20_M
eMMC-boot
I dont get a connection to the PC, but after first time plug-in it installed the drivers.
So now my question is how can I get an new Ruu on this phone. Would it be fixed by me installing the ICS RUU.exe file?
I can't seem to find it i do have the code from the HTCdev, but i do not have ANY clue what to do..... Please help me out
To get the correct drivers that are needed for the phone you either should install htc sync then uninistall it again or you should go download my tool, it has an installer for drivers for windows, just not windows 8.
About the code from htcdev, that part you have used correctly. That is a bin file you used to get bootloader *UNLOCKED* and since its saying unlocked you should be good to go.
After unlocking the bootloader you can go to bootloader and flash a custom recovery. To do that you can simple install my runnymede aio tool and press either twrp or cwm recovery button. It will pop up with a box that says "Press Ok when in bootloader" and since you are already in bootloader you can just skip that part and press ok.
after it has flashed recovery it will try to boot to the system just go to bootloader again
When you are in bootloader you can go into recovery.
After that you can flash any custom rom but if you want to stay on a custom rom i will recommed you to flash to specific roms first, found in the "guide" in my Runnymede AIO Tool. And then after that flash any rom for our phone. I know it sounds a little stupid and is is also not cofirmed giving any diffrence but it looks like the htc sensation xl is much more hard to brick if these two roms have been flashed.
If you just want to go back to stock , then flash a custom rom and boot it up.
Then use the function in my tool from fully booted to s-off just remeber to use the one that says your hboot version.
A note here: Hboot version 1.25 = 6.25 and 1.28 = 6.28
after that is done boot the phone up normally and run a ruu.exe file and you will end up in a stock locked rom after that.
Thanks Anders3408 i have followed your instructions and have downloaded your tool(which works like wonders).
Now i am facing another problem. My current rom is a custom one (1.56.401.2), but it tells me there are no hard disk spaces and i keep getting Contacts Storage stopped message (even after i press send report to HTC or even if i declined it....)
I have a similar problem....i'm S-ON UNLOACKED....hboot 1.28.0006 ....i can only have fastboot connection...i even tryed an RUU (RUU_RUNNYMEDE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.2_Radio_20.70.30.0832U_3831.16.00.16_M_release_258303_signed) but still bootloop! :/ I'm driving crazy!!!
ps: tried to flash a custom recovery but doesn't work!!! (during flash i was on s-on because i couldn't flash hboot s-off )...The phone has no root.

[Q] Problem unlock bootloader and root sony xperia t

Before i unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone without problem, when the update 4.3 was arriving i decided to relock the bootloader and flash a jelly bean firmware for update it by pc companion. Now i decided to unlock again to install omnirom, i flashed 4.1.2 firmware and then i tried to unlock bootlader but when the process is finished and i turned on the phone it doesn't boot, the animation is blocked and the phone will restart. So i flashed again 4.1.2 firmware, it turned on and in the service info --> configuration the phone said that the bootlader is unlocked, at this point i tried to root but i received lines of "impossible" on the terminal, i was be able to do all this one month ago but now i can't understand where is the problem. Someone have any idea??
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english

You have to check on flashtool to wipe everything for a factory reset. In your case I would flash a stock rom, unlock the bootloader via flashtool and then install a custom rom

How do you try to root? Do you want to install a custom rom? If you want to install a custom rom do the following:
1. flash the kernel from the custom rom
2. boot into that kernel and flash the custom rom zip file
3. wipe cache and dalvik
4. flash supersu zip file
If you want to stay stock but with root and are on 4.3:
1. flash the kernel of a custom rom
2. boot into that kernel and flash supersu zip file
3.reflash the stock kernel (excule everything else)

Yes i want to install a custom rom, i tried to root the phone using doomlord easy rooting toolkit to intall later the cwm, i know that if i do like you say i can install custom rom more fast, in less passages, but before i did this passages for root the phone and it worked but now after i unlock bootloader the phone doesn't start and i must flash again a stock rom with flashtool to make it work again, i know that then if i see in the phone i have the same the bootloader unlock but this isn't normal and after this new problem also the root doesnt' work
I hope that you can understand what i mean also if my english is bad
Yes maybe i can stay on 4.3 stock rom but to flash a custom kernel i must unlock the bootloader and we arrive at the same point of before, i'm not sure that the unlock works well

So on 4.1.2 easy rooting doesn't work? Umm, are you sure you're following it step by step? (If I remember correctly there are 2 ways, one for locked and one for unlocked bootloader, you have to use the one for unlocked bootloader)

Ok.
If I find any solution I'll let you know.

I have tried everything on this site but nothing will restore my htc one m7

I have tried flashing numerous roms from adb and twrp recovery with no luck. i have tried every concievable post from this site regarding this topic failed every one of them.
current position of phone is tampered, relocked, and in bootloader. i would post an image of the phone stats but i dont know how.

First you would have to unlock the bootloader and then try again.

Leave bootloader relocked, flash latest RUU ( https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347763626 )
I have tried this and wont let me boot into twrp. also comes up with security warning. and s-on. I have not been able to get s-off.

At this point no one knows anything about your phone.

1. Unlock your bootloader.
2. Find the latest available twrp recovery and flash it to your phone through fastboot.
3. Download a rom of your choosing preferably in my opinion a stock based rom after which you can flash to whatever you want.
4. Reboot into twrp and enable USB storage or whatever the option available and then connect your phone to your computer.
5. Flash zip
