HtC Sync love for Mac?? - HTC Sensation XL

Hay there ppl. I have just got my self a new Sensation XE - I know that this is the forum for the XL, please dont flame me yet!!!
After doing some research i have found that HtC have made a version of HtC Sync for Mac...however in there wisdom have only 'released' it in the storage memory of the XL. As a HtC and Mac user i would very much like this program, though i think i may need to modify it to work with the XE and others.
Would any XL owners please send me a copy of the HtC Sync folder from there memory, or even just the dmg file from with in it. It should be something like HtC Sync 3.00.dmg
Thank you in advance!!!

If you can hold on for afew more hours Ill upload mine tonight via my Mac lmao! not tried it myself as im happy with it going through Google and AirSync etc
dmg is about 49MB

Kool beans
Yea if you could upload it that would be great. About 50mb sounds about wright for it at the Win version is about 45mb i think.

check this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340368
for me HTC Sync doesn't work. I'm using the latest MBP. I cannot sync anything

I'm finding that the HTC Sync works extremely well on my iMac. It is absolutely wonderful to be able to sync my calendar, address book, photographs and music so easily. I'm really impressed.
It worked for me out of the box, with no problems. I can only suggest the obvious if it doesn't work for you. Try another USB socket? Try another USB cable? Check the settings for the USB cable on the 'phone isn't set to 'charge only' but to 'sync device'?

RSS Reader

I know there are few free RSS readers and a few pay ones (SPB etc..) but has anyone found one that intrgrates into the HTC homescreen rather than a today plugin?
Like changing the media tab to an rss feeder?

Ummm, you seem to be under the impression that the HTC Home is quite changeable. Its not. So, there will be no answer to your question. No one has figured out how to change a tab to a compeltely different functionality. you are stuck with the basic 6 functions, and what they point to (Main/Clock, Contacts, Launcher, Music, Weather, Profiles).
If you are just looking for a good RSS reader, you should Google search against XDA and you'd find this:
http://www.google.com/search?as_q=r...rum.xda-developers.com&as_rights=&safe=images
HTC Home is made by HTC, if something like this were ever going to be done in HTC Home, HTC would have to take care of it.
On a side note, i use Newsgator Go! for Windows Mobile for reading RSS on my mobile device. It syncs with Newsgators Online service, which my desktop client Feed Demon also syncs with, meaning i can read between work, home & the bus rides and keep my read items, etc. in sync.
Just found this one also on the Microsoft site. Its free, and I haven't tried it since I already purchased Newsbreak. but looks decent...

There's also http://www.google.com/reader
(available in an optimized mobile version too)

Connecting to Mac Using iSync

Anyone had any luck connecting their AT&T Tilt/8925/Kaiser to a Mac using iSync or have a recommendation for any other apps to keep their address book/iCal up to date?
Thanks!
missing sync did the job for me.

Is iSync not an option for this phone? Is there a free software that does the trick?
free option
Yes there's now def a free option, tho not tested it myself, check: http://www.eltima.com/products/syncmate/
Personally i reckon the missing sync is the dogs wotsits so would say go for that as its well worth the money and they've just got it up to speed with leopard as well!
SyncMate does also work quite well with HTC devices if you configure the MAc and the mobile device accordingly. And it's free!
I love syncmate. Works perfectly. Just set up your device, install the syncmate driver cab on your phone, and bam, you can sync everything.
A much better/slimmer piece of software compared to Missing Sync. Missing Sync seems very bloated and complicated.
Syncmate not so good
I can't sync correclty neither the contacts (no photo, no ringtone) nor the calendar. My HD crashed so I no longer have Missing sync which was working great. Anyone can help for a serial or a crack ? thanx for your help
syncm, ate worked great for me for a while....but ever since they have the PRO upgrade every time i connect it asks me to install the syncmate dfriver, which is already installed!! i can do this 3-4x a week, still no sync.
Also, the sync never worked that well w/ ical...
I've got to add my vote for The Missing Sync, http://www.markspace.com/

Syncing with Mac

Hey guys has anyone found a solution for syncing the Touch Diamond with a Mac??
I am using the latest version of Missing Sync and its not working, it starts to connect, gets to 2 dots then stops and says the connection attempt failed I click Learn More and follow the directions in there, it has instructions on allowing certain programs in the firewall and the missing sync listener is on of them, however I can't find that program either in the firewall or anywhere on my hard drive under a spotlight search, anyone else have this issue?
Anyone else try any other programs??
I have also tried sync mate, it did sync, but there were lots of entries missing and it didn't sync my calender at all.
I have now tried manually instaling the cab file for missing sync to my device but still no luck...
im using missing sync 4.0.3 on 10.5.3.. i dont have any problem syncing with my diamond. however after i sync my contacts on address book, I can't open the "people" tab on the today plug'in anymore so i have to hard reset. but for all other things, missing sync works fine.. when u sync the songs from itunes, u can ever has the album photo.
good luck
sometime buzz the USB cable, please try the one that comes with phone
Im occasionally getting the following error message when instaling, don't suppose anyone has had anything like this before??
I also used appzapper and deleted eveything it found on version 3 I amwondering if I deleted the wrong thing.
"The system extension "System/Library/Extensions/MissinSyncWM.kext" was installed improperlyand cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update."
I checked the missing sync forums, and officially, they do not yet support windows 6.1. Here's the link. I guess we just have to wait for a few weeks (or months) before it'll be supported.
For uninstalling the missing sync app, I would suggest heading to their forums and posting your specific problem. Good luck.
Anyway, I'm excited with the htc diamond. I just held one yesterday and it really felt good in your hands. Although the interface is still slow (this may be due to wm itself rather than HTC's design team) but I hope that the advance config app can fix this one. I'll try to play some more this weekend.
u can try SyncMate, it can sync Address book and iCal for the unregistered version. http://mac.eltima.com/sync-mac.html
Problem solved, did a permisson repair then reinstalled and it alll worked. Also I wouldn't recommend syncmate, it garbled my contacts on my phone thankfully not on my mac though....

HTC Sync (PC Suite for Magic)

Anybody tried this? I've just installed it, but my XP is a virtual machine ontop of Linux, so no physical USB ports to plug the phone into.
It probably only works with the HTC firmware, not the Vodafone/Google firmware.

Yes I can, and I just tried again too. Choose the .zip file in the first combobox, then choose HTC Europe in the second box, then click the Chinese button below.
Wahou, cool. Does it work ?

After doing that, it redirects me to http://www.htc.com/www/support.aspx.
But if I choose any of the pdf's, works.

Probably, but your handset needs to have HTC Sync on it, which only the HTC firmware does (i.e. Haykuro H builds, or original non-google firmware (Taiwan HTC, Rogers' Canada etc..))
It's here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/237751368/HTC_Sync_1.0.1.zip.html
Apparently it can only be downloaded from Rapidshare 10 times, so hope some of the 10 people will re-upload it somewhere else.
cheers,
Carl
IT WORKS
Yeah guys it works, I can sync all my contacts (Calendar and notes not proposed). I have waited for so long......
HTC guys have really understood what customers want.
Only few more improvements like calendar synch (Google synch doesn't work and support sucks), a note manager like the todolist from abstractspoon that we can synchronize and that device will be the perfect tool.

It is already not so far.
P.S. : Tks for the tip CMF. I get it from the HTC website.
P.S.2 : I have mount Haykuro's built
Here is the link http://87.106.248.77/download/Driver/\HTC Magic\HTC Sync_1.0.1.zip.
Downloading from htc web site WORKS, and program works good, but need some other opttions. I hope it'll work on G1 too
Just use the Haykuro 6.0 on your G1. It works.

HTC Taiwan page,
Scroll to bottom drop down boxes, select HTC sync.zip from the first box,
then HTC Europe (if you are in Europe)
then click the box that becomes highlighted,
If you speak Chinese Traditional, this becomes easier.

Cool. Good that it works.
For Calendar/Contacts sync, I have been using gSyncIT, which cost $9.99. It seems to work very well. Syncs Outlook calendar & contacts to gmail, which then syncs down to the phone.
cheers,
Carl
Hi Carl,
In fact, I don't want anybody else than me to handle my personal data.
Google and others know already enough about me.
That is why I really appreciate HTC improvement as I can keep everything locally between my phone and my laptop.

Here's the file at megaupload, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S8ZOSLKU
MD5 a760aa9d0338478d54a2ec6a9f5d50cd
(I removed two example sound tracks from the original zip.)
You may also want to download the driver update labeled WinXP (=x86) or Vista(=x64). (It's only 500k, so no megaupload.) Choose the Asia server if you can. The Europe server is very slow now.
Edit: can't get it to work...
Some of you got a driver problem. I got the htc sync, i got the driver update puck... and i got a messege as big as my screen stating that there is something wrong.
Helpm Please, i'm becoming crazy.
P.s. win xp sp3, office enterprise 2007... bla bla bbla
Could I request someone to upload it again? I will also upload it myself once I have it. Thanks.

Fresh new link to MAC version
Hello, as previous link has expired, I've put on Dropbox the file again but I'm unable to post the link here as I don't have 10 posts on XDA forums. If interested, send me a PM.
For me (under OSX Leopard 10.5.8), synchronization worked two times, but since I've upgraded my Sensation to ICS, sync does not work anymore. Device not detected by HTC Sync... No answer at that time !
If HTC do not decide to develop a real functional soft for OSX, I'm afraid I'll have to change for an iPhone...

I can't get HTC Sync to work since upgrading to ICS either.
I tried SyncMate, but that managed to wipe my entire contacts list and calendar (which I had asked it to do to prevent duplicates) but failed to leave me with a single entry in either on my 'phone. When I tried to sync again, it then tried to re-write and duplicate every entry on the iMac in both Address Book and Calendar.
Aaargghh!
I had backed up my address book before I started, so I restored it then synced it with GMail, exported my iMac Calendars to GCal and synced them back to the HTC. Phew!
For copying music and pictures, I've had to go back to doing it manually with Airdroid.
It is a real pity that HTC Sync has stopped working as I found it very good once set up. The iTunes integration worked very well and I used this regularly to update my playlist. If HTC Sync isn't fixed, I too may find myself looking to another device.
I [may] have come up with an answer to this:
I have on my iMac a copy of VirtualBox which allows me to run Windows (tm) in a virtual environment on the iMac. I use this as a final resort for those things that I can't do, and can't replicate in the Mac OS, such as the speed camera locator update software which is Windows only.
I decided to try the PC version of HTC Sync and see if it worked. I copied the software from the internal drive of the HTC Sensation into the 'PC' and installed it. After the numerous required reboots I tried to sync the HTC with the PC version of Sync. This failed, but I was notified that an update was available for the PC Sync. I downloaded and installed this. After another reboot, I tried again. This time the HTC Sensation was recognised and tried to sync. As I don't have iTunes, Outlook or any of the required programs on the 'PC' I couldn't sync anything, but it proved that the 'phone side of things was working.
I then went back to the iMac and reinstalled the HTC Sync (Mac) software. This then located the 'phone immediately and once I set it up as before, I was able to sync almost everything that I had done prior to the ICS upgrade. For some reason, it is refusing to work with the Calendar and stops if this is selected, but everything else seems to be working as before.
Here's hoping it continues to do so...
It may be that the PC version re-wrote some corrupt settings that the Mac version couldn't, or perhaps the PC version replaced a driver App on the 'phone, either way, it seems to have fixed it. If you have a friend that has a PC, it may be worth a try?
