Like the title says. I need help in how to get my droid esn added to metros database. I have everything else done on the phone it gets metro at 611 .. I have the mms and net set and ready to with all files needed. I just can seem to find anyone around me that will add the esn. Please let me know of anyway I can. I called metro and they said no, and I took it to like 10 dealers and they all said no. Please help thanks.

Both of you: I asked around a lot last week and I was told to go to a Corporate store because they are the only ones who can get into that part of the database and edit it. Apparently it costs some money, idk how much.

The only guy I found here where I live wants 90 bucks to add the esn :{ any other ideas I have a eris running fully flashed and loaded but its not doing it for me any more. Ok thanks for any ideas.

Well I suggest that you keep looking on craigslist or something because that seems like your only option now... or just save up an buy the LG Esteem... $350 but well worth it... epic phone. Good luck man :/

I went into the corp store again tonight and I got someone who said if the phone is flashed they could do it so dial 611 and they here metro so he takes the phone and goes to scan the esn and nope. Not flashed by Houdini so no work. Now can I go and buy that program and flash them my self and will it just add the esn for me into metros database or ? I have the lg revolution which is basically the esteem twin. There is dec work on the esteem can't tell you exactly how much though. I know they have cwm and at least themes. Idk about a rom though I believe someone is working on cm7. I will ask around irc tonight and let you know.

Like he said just get the Esteem, it's worth it and xda will soon, along with other forums & developers have a CM7 Rom for it soon enough. It's also supposed to get Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) so it's a good bet, I'll be getting mine this weekend

If the esteem gets an official ICS and the Revo doesn't I will be heated. It's an awesome phone but it is basically the Revo twin and the Revo got eoled the other day...

well I checked it out and looks like a nice phone. I will be getting it in a week or less :} but untill then i would love to use the og droid for a while as the eris I have is just a slow beast :} and they added that esn at the corp store for 10 bucks ?? i don't get it lol

Like I said ^^^^up there. Just come on over to the Revo IRC and you can talk to someone more knowledgable then me. mt is mtmichaelson and he is in there but not talking at the moment idk if he will be on at all tonight but he is on a lot so you might get a chance to talk to him about the ROM and kernels and such. Depends on who you ask. Personally I will never get rid of my og droid I adore that phone. It popped my android/smart phone cherry and is just a brick of a device. Just will not die. I have dropped/thrown that phone so many times and it just comes back for more lol

I paid $60 for mine on Craigslist.. and yes the Esteem has root. I will be getting it soon enough lol

Sorry, missed where you said "stock" in the first message. So do you want to unroot and go back to the official software? In that case, flash the DREAIMG.NBH file again, then wait for the OTA update.
If that's not what you want.. Clarify, I'm confused.
well i was able to flash the phone back to RC29 i was rooting the phone but i stupid ass loads the new SPL that was for the HERO rom and now the phone is officially bricked no recovery mode or rainbow screen haha..!! fudge!...im thking of going to the tmobile store and just say i accidentally dropped it and phone shut off and when i turned it on it was stuck??? i did pre order the mytouch...but yeah man last night turned out to be a disaster now im stuck with a blackberry pearl for now lol.. thanks tho at least we learn from out mistakes
You can also try playing dumb and just say that there was a new update available and you hit OK, then the screen went blank and now it won't turn back on...

haha yeah thats actually a good one..but the phone stuck on the TmobileG1 splash, the is still under warranty so im thinking it would cover it..i got it 2 months ago i believe

yeah true...i do wonder but i dont think so...everyone usually gets their share i mean..like i bring in my dead phone, theres usually a factory warranty HTC covers the damage, tmobile loses nothing since most likely they get credited for the Returned Mechandise, if its a bricked phone HTC, theyll most likely flash the chipset via Jtag or something u know...kinda crazy in a way cause what do you think might happen if there was no factory warranty

haha even they knows whats uP! this is a great community man lots of knowledge to be gained here..im still like stuck with the whole Rooting and stuff of the G1, this is really new to me but im hoping i read everything on here till my head pops open, i was able to downgrade it but i dont know wasnt too sure about the root maybe thats why it bricked

Ya I lurked these forums and decided to get a G1 because of all the activity here. Got rooted about 2 weeks after messin around with cupcake.
I decided to up my resale value by unlocking it after so hehe I went to the tmo store to see if i really could (i didnt get my phone from tmo and i still got my unlock code today haha)

lol..cool i should do that next i was finally able to do the whole Hero Rom bit slow but i like the new features its great..this website is like the holy bible for tech people seriously its a bad ass site!
just got off the phone with telus they said 2.2 froyo is in beta right now and that it will come around the same time the droid gets it or shortly after rep said in july
now maybe someone over there would be nice enough to let a leak find its way over here

Don't take their words with anything less than a big pile of salt.
I talked to my area telus rep in person today, he told me that he has no news on the milestone 2.2 update, and he had a LOT of news.
i spoke to tech support so they know more than the reps the reps only know of things through memos tech support test stuff big diff there
Well, i think we should just wait for it, i'm 99% sure it will eventually come... what i'm more worried about is the ginger3.0 update, it seems to be a much bigger deal, improving the UI.
My guess is we will have to hope for those kexec guys to be successful, since i doubt motorola will roll an official update...

I imagine all the Milestone/Milestone XT7xx carriers got Froyo code drops from Motorola this week for testing, not just Telus. We already know that Verizon is testing it on the Droid.
And yeah, I expect a leaked ROM to come out soon, though the first will probably be for the EMEA phones if I were a betting man.

Ok, my wife has the zio, about to go with Epic, but she factory reset without unrooting from the one click Z4 root.. now she has no KB, I know right?
.apks wont open from phone DL in app manager, I am kinda lost on how to get the phone back to stock.. fricken no phone KB hurts the phone a bit. My question is, since we have the source code here for 2.2 (hers is Sprint BTW) is there a way to push it through?

First off... the only people working on anything for the ZIO are the cricket users. You won't even be able to flash any kind of rom without a working clockworkmod recovery. I haven't seen any sprint users jumping on that yet... read the forums and learn something so you can port clockworkmod and after you have done that you can start installing from zips and using nandroid to backup and restore.

hi dan i understand that you injoy rooting devices that seem impossible to root were having some big probs over at xdadevelopment getting the lg thrill (p925g) on 2.3.5 gingerbread the v20c for rogers rooted. Weve have tryed all knowing exploits and they all seem to be patched if you could have a look into this for use that would be so awsome. Im sure your a very busy guy so if you cant get around to it dont worry about it im sure some thing will come up eventully thx

exposed attack surface (as in, things that I can play with that are
likely to be broken). I've taken a bunch of notes so I can do some
work on my own time. I'll follow up in the next couple days, and I'd
expect it won't be too tough to root this thing. But as I said, I'm
on vacation, so it's going to happen at a...leisurely pace.

Oh yeah, bloody my music crap and that obscenely huge Gullivers travels. The silly ring backs, ugh. I have them hidden on my menu but they are there, taking up memory and space. They never would be missed!

I wouldn't touch it man. It's even more sketchy that there is a 5.0 rom underneath it when our device doesn't have one. I think this may be labeled turbo but intended for the international version. I'm no dev, but I would not touch this until someone tears apart the apk and gives the green light that it's not bs.

This is why developers stop or do not work on making LOCKED PHONES UNLOCKED OR ROOTED. PAY THE $20.00 that is cheap for what you are getting also the work and hours one puts into this. WOW this makes me so mad. This is why I walked away from XDA years ago when I made ROMs for eris,razer and other phones. There is users out there that still try to rip off the only ones willing to help you unlock or root your phone. WOW "I saved $20.0 " man oh man.

Damn, I can rock me some lollipop on my old omnia i9000. This is the best thing evar! I though verizon was going to make me stay on windows 6.1 forever! Thanks soooo much for posting this!

i have my omnia too. cracked screen, no battery, and beaten. cant wait for lollipop on it. that could be your best project yet, Adrynalyne!. ba ha ha ha. omnia- the iphone killer. i do miss the mouse pointer/track button, though.

Did you even bother looking at the website? He was curious about the legitimacy of the website, not whether it was worth $20 to root your device.
You know what makes me mad? When people jump to conclusions. This is why I rarely us XDA nowadays... so much emotion for a such a small thing.
