No device is perfect! - Off-topic

Ok, so how come everytime we get a new device we complain about everything. Screen, battery, gps, and everything else! It's getting old. No device is going to be perfect! Come on we have a kick ass device! The Galaxy S2 is awesome. Tired of all the bashing and complaining going on in the forums. can't we just enjoy our awesome device and the awesome Roms and support the devs give us? Nope because we are spoiled!
Killing Zombies With My Samsung Galaxy S2

I love this phone. Its the best I have ever had and I have had a g1, sgs4g, g2, g2x, sensation, amaze, and a couple sprint androids. The roms a very good and the devs are as well. There does seem to be a lot of childish bickering here that needs to stop, but I think the phone is an ass kicking device.

Only if you're lucky enough to have non-problem screen then the rest is perfect.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App

True but the screen problem is unforgivable. If I can get it fixed then I can overlook all the other problems this phone has.

if the iphone 4s had a bigger screen lets say 4" atleast, it would be the perfect device lol
if the galaxy s 2 had a better screen with no lines or blobs and we got updates fast, like lets say ICS!! it would be the perfect device..
if googled made it a requirement to update your device to the new OS, things would be soo different..
if it only it was like the iphone lol

After all the bugs and issues on my G2x, the SII is a pleasure to own.
People are always going to complain. The best thing we can do is not respond to their threads/posts.

I never had an issue with my g2x i was lucky and the blobs on here arent that noticable to me so all in all im a happy camper

+1 dude I love this device the screen problem is no biggie I don't Read in the dark with the lowest setting possible and even still dont realky see it. But like op said every device isnt perfect and i had just about every device. This gs2 is by far the sweetest phone i owned to date i still think my next device will prolly be a nexus device or the s3 if its sick enough. But yea man i love my phone its super fast and reliable. It was also the first device where i thought the stock rom was half decent. I am definitely enjoying this device and will for a good while with or without ics. Even tho that would be a sweet addition to our roms

The g2x was one of my favorite devices and now the wife has it and enjoys.

Would any of us have noticed the screen issue if we hadn't read about it on xda?

With out a doubt the Samsung Galaxy S II is the #1 phone in the world for 2011-current. Some other phones have other features or other small features that make them better in some aspects, such as the Galaxy Nexus screen. Other wise the SGSII is uncontested in every aspect and in sales.
CONS: Now, not by choice I own the T-Mobile SGSII which is another story all together. Yes, T-Mobile and Samsung changed a few features on this device to make it unique to T-Mobile. Whether good or bad it is very clear that the SGSII for TMO has a decrease in screen resolution, CPU and GPU Graphics performance. Other people have complained about lines and blobs on there screen, which I am fortunately enough not to experience on my device. But the worse part of the TMO version is the design......because Apple had to be a B*%^& and sue Samsung over this device we lost the three main button/keys from the original UK version. I like real buttons and would have loved to have a real home button and a back and menu button, ps who actually uses the search button?...worthless! The only other thing I would change would have been to have waited for the white one to come out before buying.
PROS: Personally I don't see much of a decrease in the screen resolution at all, I LOVE IT, and love the size to! The speed of the phone when at its best is amazing (have yet to root my phone and over clock it so I expect to to be even better soon when I do). Until we get ICS I am very content with the Go Launcher ICS theme which is easy to customize.
Over all even with my small simple complaints this is by far the best phone I have even own and still think no other phone on the market competes.

The iphone would still have a horribly bland and boring os and would still have a horrid build quality (shattering from a 1 foot drop)

Yes, I first noticed it on an HD video I was watching and I thought it was something wrong with the video itself. In fact, I would not even know about xda if it weren't for the screen issue (so it's the other way around).

I still haven't seen the difference myself, better yet I would rather not see it because I would just be upset about it, right? But its not something that makes me happy when I hear that Samsung and TMO made it slower and less screen quality.

Skyrocket has the same issue as well

I thought that the skyrocket and our phone were the exact same device. Wasn't it just discovered that ours supports LTE as well? Whats the differences?

The difference is the processor (Qualcomm vs. Exynos), and the screen itself (4.5" vs. 4.3"). Sadly, our 4.5" screen is the one with the blobs/lines.
This really isn't the carrier's fault, but if they are refusing you a refund/exchange then it is.

huh, so are the blobs/lines caused by something or over time? Or do some devices just have them?

Thoughts on the T-Mobile G2X as compared to the Nexus

I currently own a Nexus S and love it. I just wanted to get your opinions on The G2X and how it may compare to the NS. Aside from lacking gingerbread, what other potential downsides am i looking at? What are the upsides? I'm just looking for constructive feedback. No Flame throwing

The Nexus S beats it in every department except video recording, so its up to you what you deem important
Nexus S is fast, amazing screen and housing which make the phone when off look like a black slab of coal, also when the phone is on the blacks stay that colour, so you dont know where the screen starts and finishes...
The Nexus S is the real deal mate, i cant see anything living up to its quality, except for maybe the SGSII
JD
Im having the same problem. But im also wondering between my Nexus s, the new T-Mobile G2X and upcoming HTC Pyramid.
My opinion.
Nexus s - Love this phone, have nothing bad to say, never had all the issues everyone was having (rebooting).
T-Mobile G2X - Reviews say the phone is sluggish for a phone with dual core, but it might be due to the custom UI. The G2X comes with stock gingerbread which is a plus but how how easy will this be to developers to root and install custom rom. Have never had a LG phone and dont know how the quality is.
HTC Pyramid - Still needs to be released but the spec looks amazing and I love HTC quality (nexus one). Recently HTC had not been too nice to devs. with G2 and Thunderbolt.
Wait til all the phone get released and then see what happens, see what fits for me.
nexus s is the real deal....unless yours is with tmobile....then in 2 years...its useless (unless you enjoy using a smartphone for 2g)
thats just a techinicality, most of us will move on by then, but the gx2 needs some more time before we can dive into it. but its dual core and 4g, cant really hate on that. ofcourse battery life can be a good fight (im on 22hrs and 30minutes on my nexus s right now and its still at 15%)
amoled screen is another thing...the fact that it doesnt have gingerbread is not abig deal at all, from what i read this is reaallly stock android with the exception of some apps, not skins or UI

Yeah i hope we are able to see some hands-on vids today. I agree that only time will tell if its a winner or not. Those specs do make it seem like a beast of a phone though, and stock android has a significant place in my heart.

I definitely would not buy anything less that a screen with AMOLED. I was a HTC fanatic, i owned the HTC Desire, Nexus One, Desire Z (G2) and the HD. But once you convert to Samsung you never look back, i could never have a SLCD screen again(greyish blacks yuk)...
But i do miss Sense sometimes, and i know that's a contentious issue in this forum as there are so many Sense haters here, but i like having the choice to mix up my ROM's by having stock for a few months then Sense for a few months.. With the Nexus S your pretty much restricted to stock or MIUI, But thank god for the MIUI release, its invigorated the dev forum. Lots of kernels and same-ish ROM's, thank god we have something new to play with

I used to feel the same way when I had my Epic 4G. I thought I could put up with anything for a SAMOLED but then I started playing with an Evo. Sure, the screen as quite as brilliant but a great screen does not a device make. I've made my opinion on Sense clear but I won't dis on someone else's enjoyment of it (doesn't mean I don't get tired of seeing new threads pop up asking for it). The only thing that would really make me not want to get a Pyramid is if the bootloader is as locked down as the Thunderbolt but something tells me that was something Verizon wanted but that is a personal hunch supported by absolutely no evidence so don't quote me on it. I could easily give up the SAMOLED, hell it makes me feel more comfortable running bright themes and I think it helps devs want to make them.

i dont find it ugly at all.. just the bottom of the phone is a little bit exaggerated and could of added more screen size rather than having blank spots; probably something internal of the phone hardware that prevented that or they didnt want to overextend the screen size

Well... it looks snappy, but it's quite obvious the video is sped up. I know for a fact people's fingers don't move like that, all jittery lol. And if it's really using stock android, that stock launcher should animate just like our stock launcher, and it's way too fast in the video (opening the app drawer etc).

Thrill 4G kills all the phones

Hi to all of you.
The LG Thrill 4G kills all the phones I had until now with build quality and speed even the paper phone Galaxy S 2. This year I tried, here we go Nexus one, G2, Mytouch 4G, Galaxy s Captivate and Vibrant, G2X, Htc Sensation, Atrix 4g, Infuse 4G and still have the Nexus S just for having the most up to date software. How you guys feel ? don't you think its a better phone in general even its on 2.2 which is not a problem because in general I don't see there is a huge difference between 2.2 and 2.3 for me.
Love the screen, speed, build quality, plays any video without a problem, the sound, the only thing I see now is the battery draining fast but it will get better in 2 weeks once it goes true couple of cycles of charges, please share how you feel thanx.
Just loving the phone that's all

so far i have to disagree.
Ive had the Atrix, Inspire, Infuse, & Captivate this year.
This is my least favorite of all of them.
Horrible battery, Delayed response on wake, outdated OS, gets hot, etc etc.
As soon as the GS2 releases ill be switching.
The 3D is a gimmick and will never be anything more than that on a cell phone.
I do agree with you on that. Im getting 2800 on my bech mark which is pretty good for froyo. I like the omap processor better then the others. This chipset has the same gpu that samsung uses so you will get pretty good performance. I have been running into a little issue with my device freakin out. Hopefully I can get cyanogenmod on here. I also found an extended batter for this thing too so looking into doing that so it will last a lot longer

Battery: I agree, it drains a lot faster than my Infuse 4G did, but that much was expected due to the dual-core CPU etc.
Delayed response on wake: I don't have this issue, and I'm using WidgetLocker.
outdated OS: A lot of people complain about that, but no one ever explains WHY they want gingerbread. I had it on the Infuse - yes, it was not, but there's nothing that I could do in Gingerbread that I can't do now, except say that I have Gingerbread. I have a problem with people who "demand" the latest OS but have no idea why they want or need it.
Gets hot: also not having the issue, but I'm using the stock cable that came with the phone.
I have some complaints but they are minor (like how I'm always accidentally hitting the 3D button), and I'm glad that I returned my Infuse for the Thrill. Once cyanogen is released I will be golden.

after playing with pretty much all of the above, I have to agree..this phone rocks.
the 3d is much better than a gimmick assuming you pay attention to how to use it. I have compared it to the Evo3d and the NDS3d and of course our 3d TV...
It's great...if you don't see it..you're doing it wrong..plain and simple.
It's an added bonus to all of the other great things about this phone. I have run, and will continue to run more tests on the Thrill side by side with the infuse and the US SGS2 ...so far the Thrill stomps the Samsung phones ...every single time.
It is a more comfortable fit for me than the infuse, but I think that is because my previous phone was an Evo...the weight and dimensions are very similar.
Build quality is great..I don't feel like it is going to break if I hold it wrong
I don't get the lag that some have experienced but I also did some minor tweaks to speed things up a bit.
Sumper Amoled blah blah blah... I love the Sammy screens, I compared their screens to others and until now, I favored the sammy screen... This Thrill has a much better screen than what I expected (especially after all of the negative reviews it received on the screen)
The LG widgets are awesome..they make sense, they are perfectly sized, and they work within launcher pro..yay!
anyway..I still have some testing to do ..I have not played many games on the Thrill, and have a few select games that were only playable on the Infuse so I want to try those out.
The only thing the atrix had that interested me was dev support...I disliked just about everything else about it
We will get that support..or we will create it buwahahahaha
I agree about the 3D - it's not the main reason why I was interested in the phone, but it's an added bonus, and one that I enjoy very much. I thought it was just a gimmick at first too, but then I took a test picture in the AT&T store of my two-year-old, and I was sold from that moment. I look at it like this: 3D is becoming more and more prevalent, whether you think it's a gimmick or not. The movie and electronics industries are throwing their money behind it. Do I want to miss out on being able to display 3D pictures of my two-year-old 10 years from now when ALL TVs are 3D capable because I thought it was a fad?
Granted there are probably better phones with better 3D capabilities coming down the pipe, but by then she will be 3 or even 4 years old. I can upgrade again if the need arises. But I certainly don't want to look back and say "I wish I had a 3D picture of that to share." Now I will.
Agreed i had the atrix with laptop dock and i was discusted with with it plus in.all the test ive.ran thrill beats em up! with the extra money i bought a gtab wifi so im a happy camper anywho plus i guess i dont really need pc specs in my picked aka gs2 i dont feel like saying . Dude this has 1.2ghz dual core blah blah i rather just say look at my phone it has 3 d lol
Anywho im happy with my buys recently!

Here's my .02. This year I have had the captivate, inspire 4g, iphone 4 and now the thrill. I have to say the thrill is BY FAR my favorite out of the devices. I experience no lag whatsoever, GPS works perfect, reception is MUCH MUCH better than the inspire, screen is more vibrant than the inspire, web browser blows the captivate out of the water (freezing issue with flash content on every samsung phone I've tested), camera is on point, and I even like the interface/widgets LG has included. My only complaints are battery life which is a problem on any android phone and the earpiece sounds a little weird but nothing major. Bottom line, this phone rocks!
Anyone throw CM7 on this baby yet? How's it running?
Agree with most of what has been said. Have had the phone for 3 days now. (well actually it has been in my possesion for about half that time as my 11 year keeps nabbing it to play NOVA).
Just a quick questions though. Anybody have the freezing problem that the G2x had? My phone just did it right after a 4 minute conversation and I was trying to run OOKla Speedtest. Had to pull battery to get it to reboot.
Last night I had that issue right after a phone call. The screen turned black wouldnt turn on. I will see how it goes for the next few days.
No freezing here after 4 days with the phone.
I do love the OP's first words though, I think I will say that next time I walk into a room with a bunch of iPhone sheep. "Hi to all of you. The LG Thrill 4G kills all the phones." And hold up my phone. Should be fun.

Yeah has this phone since Sunday and I love it. I have had 0 lag issues. Apps install almost instantly the screen is very impressive for being a LCD the size and weight are perfect. Large screen and I like a little weight to my devices makes them feel like they wont break on me.
My phone gets warm with heavy use but never hot I havent had to worry about overheating and I have been using the crap out of this phone. The 3D is good, gives me a headache and my eyes go crossed if look at it too long but, it works well especially if you adjust the field depth correctly for the scene. The 1080p video looks great as do the photos. Froyo is just fine I can wait for gingerbread as long as att/lg actually come through. Either way roms will take care of that.
Anybody else switch from the android keyboard to the lg one? I like the look of the lg keyboard better than stock android or anything else on the market.
Oh and I agree "kills all the phones" needs to be a meme.

all I can say is it sure is hungry. Extreme heavy use gets me 8-9 hours of use. Haven't had a chance to see 'Normal' use yet. Banning it from my son might help. going to have look for an extended or backup battery.
I'm using the "android" keyboard. I might try swiftkey again; it lagged the heck out of my captivate but it was free so I tried it.

Hmm, sadly I can agree with most of this. The 3D is 'OK' but not great.
I find myself Overheating, Uninstalling, & Lowering Brightness A LOT!
I personally have a sensual love for the phone
But sadly it's not something I can rely on for a full day basis. I'm currently saving up money just so I can get my hands on the CHEAPO Huawei just put on AT&T.
I might put the LG Thrill ROM on my Huawei cause of the weather app & other personal reasons.
If there's a 10/1 on LG, I am dissappointed. 7 At the most for my daily use! 4 On keeping me changing and uninstalling things.

I'm in the same boat. Almost 3 years with my hero and I do love it, but I'm due for an upgrade and I'm not sure I can wait for the GN or GSIII. I might have to take the plunge soon. Epic 4g touch or Evo3D....something, but until then I'm flashing roms like there's no tomorrow

Thanks to all for the insigjts, Daatin, have you expierienced any programing gliches (ranbom reboots, freezes ) as ive rread in some of the Sprint reviews. Anb in response to the epic 4g, yes it is a pretty badass device man. Definately on the list of upgrade cantidates. Is rooting the epic fairly basic, just wondering. Lol suppose i could use the search window, :-b One other thing i was curious about, I read the specs on the 3d and the supersonic and other than price didnt really see a difference, is there really a difference ???

Dive bombing in for a MUMP!! although this thread didn't need it
I have an upgrade available the 31st and I was hoping the galaxy nexus would be out by then but possibly not.. my sister got the Nexus S and the only problem I've seen with it is after a year or so of having it the battery life has probably cut in half if not more. My mom got the epic 4g touch and I didn't really like it. But no problems really that ive noticed. But I never got to mess around with rooting it/the programming side of it. I'm honestly thinking of going to iPhone because its not as fragmented as android. With android there's so many different phones, OS's, roms, etc. Then again that's what I love about it.. gaaaah the choices!! Either way good luck with whatever you choose

I feel your guys' pain about the lack of options for HTC phones on Sprint. I ended up getting a HTC Amaze which is what the next EVO phone should have been but it never made it to Sprint. I was not impressed by gimmicky EVO 3D. The HTC Rezound is similar to the Amaze but again it's on Verizon.
Still kicking around the idea....I do like the 3vo, but the 3D is just too gimmicky for me...I think the Photon is out even though motorola is always a solid phone.
I would go for the Evo Design, but the processor lacks a dual core .....I really think I am leaning towards the SGSII...despite what people say about the plasticy feel, it is slim, it is light, the screen is huge and colorful--(and the blacks are black, not washed out), and from what I have seen for comparisons even though it has the "same" speed processor as the 3vo, it is just a touch faster. The price is just double what the others are....GRRR.
Now I have to pound it into my wifes head, because I think shes gonna get me a phone for my Bday....
I can overclock mine at 1.5ghz and it's just as fast if not faster than stock SGS2... just my 2 cents.

And we genuinely appreciate your pennies.
BUT, if the SGS2 is OC'd and it is faster to begin with, imagine what it can do at 1.5ghz... I think the only thing I am not really diggin about the SGS2 is resolution..even though it is crisp and clear, the icons are bigger...
Who knows we will see what happens hell they might be sold out when it is time...I heard they are doing phones for new lines for a penny right now....makes me wanna walk away from them just to come back and get a discount....lol
That's when the shooter has another plus. It's resolution is higher which is why the icons are smaller but it also means better picture quality obviously with any higher resolution. I watch Top Gear on the netflix app and its perfect. Any game I've played works perfect and looks great due to the resolution.
On the processing front, honestly there's no need to even OC unless you want to just show off. but none of us end users need that much power to run what apps we like. Id be more inclined to want a higher processor if you could build from source on it. But most of us want better battery life. Which in turn you have to sacrifice some performance.
I love the SGS2. However they I believe still nerd to use odin to flash stuff. Odins been known to brick quite a few devices if not done properly. This weighed in my decision also along with I'm familiar with HTC. From a developing standpoint I was drawn because I know it already.
The 3D may be gimmicky... But it sure is fun Im excited to take more pictures now because of it. I can't wait for summer and snap shots of parades and ball games etc... Sure the SGS2 has an 8mp compared to the shooters 2 - 5mp which our Heros have a 5mp camera, but because of the resolution they turn out great. Won't be able to take advantage of that 8mp camera unless you remove the pictures and view them properly on a computer...
Now with all that being said I still want to buy an SGS2 outright because I just do. I mean its a great phone. But all that I mentioned pushed me towards the shooter for an everyday developing phone which is what the Hero was for me.
That's my .25 cents this time
I hope this helped boggle your mind a little more. Not saying you have to lean towards anything. It's your choice and all the phones out there are great. It's a matter of preference. Just stay away from the I-crap. I give Apple one little credit for implementing Unix in a way to a phone platform. But that's all ill give them.

Will never buy an apple-- just picked up a new SGS2 for $0.01 on Amazon though....

Go with what your budget can handle. Now that there is a possible fix for the 1. 5 hboot for the 3D, I'm encouraging my family to move towards it. Plus that phone has massive potential.

Thinking of buying the N700 (switching from Galaxy Nexus)

Hey guys, just looking for you opinion on what I should expect when switching from Galaxy Nexus to a Galaxy Note (N700) in terms of performance.
I mostly use the browser so I am most concerned with the browser performance. I have played a bit with one and could clearly see differences in performance compared to the buttery-smooth Galaxy Nexus. I think I could live with these minor shortcomings though, when I've got that HUGE screen. I also think I'd be better off with a bigger screen when I'm typing, because I type a lot, either in the browser or IM'ing with people. This is the main reason I want the Note.
Basically I want to know what you guys miss from your old phone, before the Note.
I've been toying with the idea of getting a Nexus just for the ability to switch between Tmobile and Att. What's stopping me is that I tried a S3 for a month but I kept coming back to the Note. The BIG SCREEN is really nice.
So far I have not found a JB rom for the Note that I like. They all seem so laggy compared to a CM9 rom with Apex and some minor UI tweeaks. Even stock TW roms that people swear a butter smooth seem laggy to me, ok not going between desktop screens but it is slow. If I were in your shoes, I would buy a used Note and give it a go but not be so quick to sell the Nexus.
The really big difference I can think of, switching from Gnex to Gnote is the very fast update that Google makes on the Gnex itself... When Google say that Gnex is their brand of phone to get the latest JB updates.. they really mean it to a tee. You get the best of both worlds that Google can deliver to your phone no question about that.
The only thing that's holding me from selling my Gnote and switching back to Gnex was and is still the fact on the WOW Factor that our phone makes to a lot of people. Whenever I stroll down Portsmouth to bars or drinking with my buddies.. it never fails to amaze me a stranger would right off comment and say.. " hey you got a nice phone there bud!".. I just smirked and smiled back at them.
I feel wait for note 2 bf4 taking any decision

I can understand if a chick comes up to you and says.. hey.. you got a nice bulge on your pants, you bring out the phone and the chick says... Oh. I thought it's something else!
what a bummer!
anyway goin back, yeah the Note still a spectacle to have with.. I mean, it got a nice big screen, faster GPS and I can truly say, I had scribbled my signature once on an online cheque copy and sent it via email... how cool is that..,
Yeah, I'm definitely convinced now that I want it. And I'm ready to say (temporarily) good bye to Jelly Bean We are pretty sure that the Note 1 will be updated to Jelly Bean, right?
Given the scenario...yeah... But my constant rule is.. Never expect anything...if JB comes before this year ends then great! If doesn't, then that's good. At least there's something we can look forward to for early next year perhaps.

Honestly, even if Jelly Bean does not trickle down to Note 1, I'm not bothered. Currently on Rocket ROM, previously used JellyCore v2 and I don't see any features that can sway me over. Even the "huge" upgrade from Gingerbread to ICS was a minor boost to me - only because of the feature to use voice-typing keyboard. I don't really see per-app notification settings or widgets that arrange automatically or Google Now or anything else particularly necessary. OK, "but what about project butter?!" some will say. I will say that on my 4.0.4 Note I don't feel sluggishness to make me want any speed improvements. And no, it's not a Note with the default apps that come with it - it's crammed with apps and I am a very heavy user.
Only gap-less audio playback and offline dictation might sway me over but definitely not a necessity.
I plan to use it with the stock ROM so Project Butter would probably make a lot of difference.

Is it just me...

I'm wondering if I'm the only person to be, well, disappointed with the Nexus 4. I have had Google-centric devices before, starting with the Nexus One and I enjoyed using them. I was looking forward to getting my N4 immensely but since it arrived it's just been nothing but ball-ache.
It never really feels as fast as its specs suggest it could be.
If I snap a picture (which is disappointing 99% of the time) I can't send it by clicking the share button and choosing Gmail - it just sits in my outbox, and has with every ROM I've used, including stock.
The device's battery is inconsistent.
It's slicker than an eel that's been soaked in KY, so unless it's in a case or bumper it slips and slides off surfaces and, as we all know, it isn't the most robust smartphone in the world.
I'm holding out hope that KLP will bring things together and get it all moving right, but so far I'm a misery guts...a misery guts who keeps eyeing up the HTC One.
Am I alone?
It is an upgrade for me because I had an htc one v. I honestly think all of the functions are usable (besides recording audio). I was very excited to know the nexus 4 came out, after using the nexus 7 for a couple of months. Although if you have owned a phone with features that worked more efficiently, then yes this device could totally be let down. The battery life could be better(even with custom kernels/roms) I figure i'm gonna sit with my nexus 4 through another generation of nexus before I upgrade.
Yes. And this thread is pointless.

For me its the complete opposite. Ive had every nexus phone an the n4 is by far the best. My phone is blazin fast woth no lag whatsoever no matter what rom im on, camera takes great pics an the battery is pretty good. It is pretty slick cause its mainly glass but a case fixes that. Maybe u got a bad phone or something
Yes, it is just you. Can we close this thread?
Yes , just you.
If your picture is getting stuck in the outbox, that probably means your internet connection is too slow to send it quickly.

I thought it might have been a bad one at first, but the wife's got one and she's had some (minor) issues too. There are aspects of the device that I love, but having had a Nexus 7 and gotten to really like Jelly Bean I was hoping for a lot more from the N4. There just seems to be a lack of veneer in certain areas, like jobs were just sort of finished rather than being polished.
The N4 is the best Nexus device in terms of hardware, sure, but I don't feel that Google has made as much of that hardware as it could have, though that could probably be attributed in some part to it being an enthusiasts device.
As for you, mgymnop and biggiephat (and anyone else who wants to be a plum) , it's a discussion forum for the Nexus 4. I was trying to initiate a sensibl discussion with other users to share my experiences and listen to others. If you don't like it, **** off. There's always dullards like you who have to mince around trying to be superior to other users. No one wants to hear your bull****. Take part or keep it shut.
@Chrono_Tata - I thought that at first but it's like it on Wi-Fi too. It's been a real head-scratcher!

For me it's quite the opposite. It's easily the fastest phone Ive used yet (that includes most 2012 flagships but nothing like the Xperia Z or HTC One) and I don't see any reason I'd want it to be faster. I don't see any task in the near future that the S4 Pro won't be able to handle, and project butter just makes the experience unbeatable IMO.
If I snap a picture (which is disappointing 99% of the time) ...
The camera is disappointing but I don't use it too much so really don't care.

Can't comment here, I've never tried it and really cba to do so now.

Mine's been fine and the battery has always gotten me through the day perfectly fine.
It's slicker than an eel that's been soaked in KY, so unless it's in a case or bumper it slips and slides off surfaces and, as we all know, it isn't the most robust smartphone in the world.
I've got a case but it does slip around a lot without a case. You'll have to come up with a solution or learn to live with it I'm afraid.

If the one's what you prefer then by all means get it. The N4 isn't for everyone, which is perfectly understandable.

Just my opinions on this. At the end of the day it's entirely down to personal preference, which nobody can really change. To the people who said that he is alone, you do realise that that's akin to saying 'green is the best colour and if you don't like it then you're an idiot' right?
Cheers for the constructive replies people.
Just to clarify, the device is quick, yeah, but it feels that the OS brings it down at times, if that makes any sense? Even though Android is hugely capable and mainstream now it feels at times like it's still a work in progress. Little things like a widget will randomly go tits up, or my keyboard will just stop working, its minor, but frustrating as hell at times.

I have been with Android since the T-Mobile G1 by HTC and xperienced the whole evolution from Cupcake to Jellybebean and android probably will always be work in progress, it is an evoluton. It will be even better and more complete with every build. As with any other OS.

That is a stupid reason in this case, as it is a Google phone build by LG.
