pls note these simple but important instructions for install of 4lph4 n3v3r d135 XXLA4 v1.7:
1. download "XXLA4 v1.6 part one" and "4lph4_n3v3r_d135_XXLA4_boost_me_up_to_v1.7" or many other optional downloads (same link)
2. copy both on your phone to the internal sd card
3. goto CWM-Recovery and make a fullwipe (wipe data/factory + wipe cache partition + wipe Dalvik cache)
4. now flash first "XXLA4 v1.6 part one"
5. after the flash make NO fullwipe!!!, just boot! I repeat, dont make any wipe after the flash, it kills the important "dummy-files"
6. let your phone boot to green droid, then shut off the phone (pls ignore fc's, its normal)
7. goto CWM-Recovery and flash "4lph4_n3v3r_d135_XXLA4_boost_me_up_to_v1.7"
8. now reboot

If you already on my v1.6 with part two (I mean not with "4lph4_n3v3r_d135_XXLA4_boost_me_up_to_v1.7"!) just download "4lph4_n3v3r_d135_XXLA4_boost_me_up_to_v1.7" and copy it to internal sd card. Then flash it via CWM-Recovery. Pls note...to and from internal sd card, thats really important!!!
If you think "OMG, the small fonts and the 6 row in v1.7 are really ****..." so pls download other options.

For versions with Toogle2G
Be patient, @ first start the search of signal takes longer.
With Toogle2G (since version 1.1) you can save energy.
If you dont need it, you need not enable this App but pls allow the permission with SuperUser!
Whats Toogle2G?
Well, Toogle2G save energy. If you activate it, then you can set your phone always to 2G, also during WiFi-Mode!
With Tasker v1.1.1u2 you can simple switch between 2G or 3G. Tasker needs Toogle2G and Toogle2G needs Tasker for the 2G/3G switch.
NO other app works so comfortable! NONE! (because of the API)
In the next days I will write a little howto for Tasker with Toogle2G. Be patient!
More Speed by Overclocking?
Yes you can!
My ROM's are very very fast even without overclocking.
With overclocking it will be one more time speedup.
Pls use apps like "setCPU" or others.
But be sure, any overclocking can damage your hardware.
Any overclocking can go to weigh your battery and the h/w temps!
Nobody except you is responsible for any damage.

Hi there,
You might consider the flashing procedure Cassie advises with his Xtralite ROM, which is quite elaborate (with full wipes and all) but it brings back the vibration in the process.

Pls look @ attachment and note the *.zip (CWM) is for customer KL8 only!

Vibration returning on 1.1
I managed to get vibration back by simply doing the following:
1. Boot into CWM.
2. Factory Reset then install 1.1.
3. Restart the device.
4. Go through the setup pages to the home screen.
5. Reboot into CWM.
6. Factory Reset then reboot.
7 Voila.
Vibrate returns.... I have noticed that the boot animation also changes to SAMSUNG.

Is this flashable through CWM?

It seems so as it is a zip file containing usual CWM flashable stuff and that marcyspark used CWM to flash it

I'll second that - you will not use root.
Another little snippet of advice though.
Upon first boot you may find that you get a message saying "radio has been denied root privileges" or something like that.... easy to fix it, open toggle2g app.... and when you get the pop up for superuser permission simply click yes and make sure that the "always allow" is ticked.
I have to say that I am really impressed with this KL8 stock rom. Fast, smooth and really low battery consumption. I'm about to put my usual "Tasker" routines on the device so it will be interesting to see if this affects matters.
I was considering offloading my Galaxy Note and going back to my ever faithful S2 (described in my signature) but I'm beginning to reconsider.

The upper right tab / right handle (4Tab/MIUI) has to be set using the new 'Lockscreen menu' in settings
You can set it to launch anything (folder shortcut or any application ) I personally set it to messaging ( SMS application).
If you dont associate the tab with something it will soft reboot the phone when you use the tab
Both lockscreens will share the same 'custom setting'

Calibrate your battery!
- There seems to be a safety feature in Gingerbread or Samsung's version of Gingerbread that causes the battery to start draining when it reaches 100%. That said to calibrate your battery properly you must do it as soon as the battery full pop up appears.

HOW TO
The anti-noob install script is a double edge sword so to speak. On one hand it is convinient as it doesn't do a wipe install if already on Simply Honey 3.5 and up. On the other some data needs to occasionally be wiped. That said if you experience ANY problem please follow the steps below.
1. Force Close of certain apps...go to settings/applications/manage applications/all and clear data of the offending app.
If that doesn't work then use Tiatnium backup to wipe data and uninstall the app (as long as it's not a system app such as phone or contacts or settings, you get the picture. Now you are free to re-install the app.)
2. The next step is to try and re-install the rom. Boot into recovery and select install from SD. After it's done and you reboot give it the 15 minutes. Now try again to recreate the original problem.
3. If the problem persists then boot recovery and wipe data factory reset and re-install the rom.
4. Problem still there then ODIN to stock with repartition, ODIN the Simply3.8 Odin/Heim package. After rebooting boot into recovery and install the latest release of Simply Honey.
5. If all else has failed make a backup of everything you want saved to your computer. Boot recovery and go to mounts and storage and select format SD. After it's done reinstall Simply Honey's latest release.
6. If your problem still remains after doing all of this or just the last step then I suggest finding another rom as this one may not be for you.

Yeah just forgot to change the file name before uploading. I changed it in the build prop but not there. You might want to hold off. I might pull this as I wasn't thinking about the bootloaders. I might have to research those some more as to what is in there.

Yea, it's a beta.. get that logcat running and help out!

Fixes and such:
-keys switched around is an easy fix just change a couple things in system/usr
buddahlou posted the fix that was used for double rainbow
- Yeah messing with bootloaders is just bad juju you will probably brick your phone if you flash the I9000 SBL. Maybe not at first but when you get sick of seeing the I9000 boot screen and flash back - bad things can happen.
- the audio doesn't switch properly so you will have to use toggleheadset
- GPS
we need some drivers or something so probably won't work until we get a proper release for the vibrant.

I can't wait for an official gingerbread release!

Requirements:
1. Of course a rooted LG Optimus Black P 970 (Find infos how to root here: [HOW TO]The Big N00B how-to! - nooby's thread)
2. CWM / ROM Manager / other apps with CWM or capability of flashing from zip file.
How to use:
1. Backup - use NANDRIOD (just in case something went wrong)
2. Copy the zip file in your SD card (copy in root folder)
3. Boot in CMW, Clear Data/cache and choose "install zip from SDCARD" or

FAQ's:
Question: Why is the ROM so huge in size?
Answer: So you can have many, many installation options to choose from.

I am using Zeus ROM, but I guess it's either because of a wrong download, so try downloading again, a bad file provided by tantrums, or a modification of yours.
Dont change anything in the .zip, except for you are able to sign the ROM again.

why does not lower the backlight of the soft light but completely shuts down?

Its exactly the same as official 2.3.4, no need pics, nothing change.
This is what I got on quadran benchmark: 1241. With another ROM I got 2500, 2700.

This is because he didnt apply any patches, but just repacked and removed some stuff, but just search here in dev section and u will find tweaks, u can apply on your own

So the safe and 100% successful way is installing LPY Stock-ROM, root Stock ROM and then go on as described below under point b2). We are in official ics for Galaxy Note.
The previous threads of Rocket was about Gingerbread and Chinese leak.

I personally prefer a new thread so that it won't be confused with the gingerbread thread which is long.

Unfortunetly the only way is cf root kernel.The default is not rooted.Only cf root is rooted.
And redpill is only in abyssnote GB kernel.

thats's a very difficult question - I can not answer in clear manner....everybody has to decide for his own to flash or not! There is enough information about this here in Forum....

This is the Final Version of my Rom.
With the new Aroma installer can you choose what for a Rom you will flash.
You can delete alot of Apps and you can install some Mods and add-ons
1. flash Rom and Mods/Add-ons you like
2. flash only Mods/Add-ons without flashing the complete Rom (Rom must install)
3. delete only Mods/add-ons without flashing the complete Rom
4. flashing Kernel and Modem

First: Never do a Fullwipe with the ICS CF Kernel you can Brick your Phone!!!

- Jbroid Kernel Cleaner (original) flashen jBroid_Kernel_Cleaning_Script_Ed-1.zip
- after that flash Abyss4.2 redpill
- reboot in Recovery (under Advanced )
- Wipe data/factory
- Wipe cache/dalvic
- flash my Rom
- choose in Aroma wipe data
OLD Flash instruction:
a) coming from a rooted GB-ROM:

- boot in Recovery

==> there have been reported problems with a constantly rebooting system when doing installation coming from a GB-ROM as posted above! So the safe and 100% successful way is installing LPY Stock-ROM, root Stock ROM and then go on as described below under point b2). b1) coming from other rooted LQ3-ROM or rooted ICS Stock ROM (No Wipe):
- boot in Recovery

Nandroid Backup and Restore:
You are able to do Full Nandroid Backups on CF-Root Kernel. But you have to restore them using Abyss Kernel 4.2!!!
If you try to Restore with CF-Root, your Restore will hang up and you will at least lose Root

Read my last post to you, it works just that you had not flashed properly.
Edit: Maybe the new samsung apps here is different, you installed from German forum or here for the new samsung apps package?

followed first time the instructions in OP:
flashed stock LPY via Mobil Odin
wiped cache and dalvik and flashed the small in cmw
= bootloop at samsung logo
restore RRv1
flashed the small over with full wipe
= it worked
tried to add some apps that I needed,
worked without S-Note
Had to go back to RRv1 that runs great so far

You are doing wrong advertisment here my friend, Chrack said the new version 3 is in the mist to be uploaded, your comments are based on Rom downloaded from German Forum, I had went thru all your findings in the testing thread with Chrack before he finalise a release here.
your comments are not being fair, because the new ROM here may or may not be different and all might go thru fine, so why do you comment in such manner???
I can verify even the ROMS from the German Forum works fine because I am using it now, all apps including Snote works. anything that is not working is because of the user and not the rom.

I see starting this thread by chrack and only wanna tell him what happend to me.
Thats all.
And I will try the small again.
Because it looked very good as I can tell so far.
Only issue I found was a big one for me that the S-Note didn´t work.
But this problem is solved I think.
