[REQ][ROM] Clean Full Sense 2.1 - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How about a clean, fast, full 2.1 sense rom? It takes less perfomance and memory than sense 3.0/3.5. What do you think about that?? I think that it can be tweaket to be almost as stock 2.1 for example on desire etc.

Several options already available:
MoDaCo Custom Desire Port
eViL's NXSense v.1.26
MicroMod's SuperHybrid
RoDrIgUeZsTyLe's FroyoSense
ABHI RHD [2.3.3 stock/sense hybrid]
Interest in "clean" 2.1 Sense is gone though.

Well, none of them is pure 2.1 sense... some of them are even enclair... ill try to make a sense 2.1 clean.

What do you mean by that? Are you gonna develop a clean Sense 2.1-ROM?
I can just state this: I came to the NEXUS ONE owning a HTC HD2 before and the Stock Sense 2.1 was the most stable and fluently running ROM on that device.
Would be nice to see somthing like that for the N1 - though Modacos ROM is nearly ideal

+1
I also want GB+clean stock 2.1, newer rom was mostly hybrid

Ill give my best

Any progress?
BTW: Should it be android 2.2 or 2.3?

froyo and sense

are there any sense builds that can run with froyo, i try sense tattoo but it freezes
I would guess no since HTC hasn't put out an official Froyo build with Sense in it yet.

here is a video of froyo running hTc Sense UI

Please change thread title!
With the extra 11 m of memory, it may help us running sense a little. Esp. with the extra quickness of FroYo itself.

Sense rom to Nexus?

Hi,
I'd like to try some ROM with HTC Sense, but don't know which one is the best when it comes to battery life and useability?
I would say use one that is on 2.2 to start with.
[ROM][FRF91] eViL's Q&D HTC Sense v.1.00 - base 2.09 Desire 720p video
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730290
OR
[ROM] [v1.2] KiNgxKxNexus FroyoDesire2Nexus {8/7/10}
http://kingxklick.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14
Both are 2.2 Sense UI ROMs.
Both are just as usable.
Is there anyone who has made a rom to just add the sense UI materials to the already built rom, sorta like with themes where you don't have to flash a whole brand new rom.
(keeping in mind that the phone is already rooted)

Recomended Rom+Radio

Hi,
I am a new owner of a Nexus One, and I would like to install a new rom in it. Which one do you recomend?
Thnaks.
As enomther is gone (havn't read all the posts lately on his thread) I'm on cyanogen 7 RC4 currently (since 2 days) and I'm really pleased for now. Nothing that bad happened and I got most of the features I liked from enomthers rom. I'm not sure if it's right but it seems to me that cyanogen is currently the way to go (at least for me).
Maybe this thread isn't located right here, has nothing development related, general would be much better I think.
try this one http://www.evervolv.com/
great rom, fast, stable, works great for a day use without wonk
you can flash with it darktremor beta 4 and a new kernel from inetersecraven
Reading is your friend. And as far as time go try them till you find one you like. Simple.
Also wrong section. Should be in general. This has nothing to do with development.
If you want sense than use MODACOS Desire_port... of you want gingerbread use cyanogen rc 4! Very stable and fast!

Use MM HTC Desire HD v1.7 ROM, it is by far the smoothest ROM and the best UI using HTC Sense. The ROM can be further modded and tweaked to maximize your Nexus One.

The thread of MM is VERY confusing! Which is the neweset version, the 1.7 final or the 2.14? Is it based on desire or desireHD? Is it possible to get the stock look of htc sense? Is that ROM smoother than MoDaCos original desire port?
Stock ?
No-one prepared to stick up for stock Gingerbread ?
I am, was on custom ROMs all of last year but now dropped onto stock 2.3.3 & enjoying the speed, stability and features. You can always add themes and apps to change it around.
I am struggling with the Radio - it takes a long time to pick up the GPS signal, need to look for a Radio fix somewhere.

For Desire HD port, the v1.7 is Final and you can flash just that.
For the earlier Desire port (non-HD), the v2.16 is the final version.
Flashing either one will give you the stock look of HTC Sense by default (except for the 3G and battery icons) when you first boot into the ROM. The theme and skin is basically changeable, so you have choices of stock look or another theme/skin.
Yes, I have tried MoDaCos and ALL the other ROMs and have compared them for almost 1 week non-stop. The smoothness of Desire ported ROM cannot be beat. It may not be the fastest ROM, but it's very smooth and stable (and you get the beautiful HTC feel). One main thing I like about HTC Sense UI is that it's got many useful phone functions when you use it as a phone on a daily basis. Let's face it, the best smartphone should also act like the best phone. I am currently on MM Desire HD v1.7, and if you want the stock 3G & battery icons back, there is a guy that posted a modified framework-res.apk that can be flashed to get the stock icons back. Everything works in the ROM except for HTC Locations which I just cannot get to work. Built-in WiFi Hotspot does not work, but there is Wireless Tethering included in v1.7 which will provide you the same function. Also, make sure you flash 5.12 radio for the best signal performance.
Good luck!
So... you made me curious
So the Desire Port (2.16) is smoother than MoDaCos ROM and the desire HD port (1.7) is even smoother than the desire port (2.16)?
Do one have to create an ext-partition o sd-card?
The only thing that bothers me is that HTC Locations does not work

Thanks.

Should be near the top of the developers forum "miui super rom roobs linked" or something like that. Its not ics though its a gingerbread Rom that's slowly implementing the ics framework into its build. So far you won't notice any differences in the ui but its a good start as every new version released will contain more and more of the ics functionality, but for now there is no final release of ics and no stable build, so if you don't know what your doing I wouldn't reccommend this Rom... yet.
Pardon my lack of knowledge, but i dont understand there are different sense versions with roms. Do some like older sense than the newer ones? And why...

mostly people like the newer sense. its like going from froyo to gingerbread. depends on you...people generally like new things.
in case of sense....cosmetic changes are more.
Stable but not beautiful:
CM7 (or nightly)
Beautiful but a little bit unstable:
Sense 3.0 / 3.5 ROM

Question about Sense 3.0 update.

With the new HTC Sense 3.0 update is the phone still smooth or is it laggy? Is the new update of HTC Sense 3.0 the stablest ROM, for this phone? Will this new official update work better then the custom ROM's we have of Sense 3.0/3.5?

The new release will not be laggy for your device at stock setup with clean install. However upon installing apps and using up internal memory your phone will become laggy over time.
As to your second question no. Official releases will never best a custom room created by a well established dev. The roms released by our devs have all the unnecessary cap removed from the roms and the sloppy coding is all aligned properly to save space and thus giving your phone more internal space and better use of your ram. I would strongly advise you to never go to a stock rom for any reason other than returning to s-on for warranty purposes. All future roms will most likely be created using the stock rom most recently released for this device as a base and greatly improved upon.
I don't even have this device, I have the Incredible 2. I was just wondering of what to expect with the future update for my phone, since both of these phones are basically the same. All the Sense 3.0/3.5 ROMS for my phone have some form of annoying bug, or lag. While the stock Sense 2.1 ROM never lagged for me.

If you have a DInc2, why are you bumping a thread on the IncS forum?
The official Sense 3.0 update has been out for quite some time. IMO it has been just as smooth as Sense 2.1, but to me, smoothness is one of those subjective things. What I consider smooth may not be what you consider smooth. You just need to try it and for yourself and make your own opinion.

Because the official Sense 3.0 just came out for the Dinc2. So before updating I wanted to hear what people had to say here.
To me it wasn't a smooth as I wanted so I had to root and believe me I never regretted it !!!! There are some roms in xda incredible S section Android development that are smooth like butter
Edit: I meant that sense 3 didn't impress me as sense 4.0A did !!!
