Hi there I have just been offered a trade for a samsung galaxy nexus for my Incredible s and 170 quid???
However, I love sense especially now I applied the htc sensation xl rom from Nik and clocked the phone to 1.45ghz and I am achieving antutu 3467!!
What do you guys think?
I think it is a good trade and it will help with keeping up with the Joneses

I would trade for a galaxy nexus

keep yours, i've owned a galaxy nexus, don't get me wrong, it's a nice bit of kit, but its not as big an upgrade as you'd think. I'd rather have a nexus s tbh. Put it this way, I had the nexus and the inc s at the same time and got rid of the nexus and kept the inc s.

I had the nexus s but its screen gets scratched really easily and the pen tile format is really bad. You can see all the pixals in everything

Take the phone. Go look at the dev forum for it than tell me you don't want it. You can't not do it.

Well I did the deal as I thought it was a reasonable trade and the screen is very very good.
So the swap for a Samsung Galaxy Nexus for my HTC Incredible S and 170 quid did seem very tempting especially when the likelihood of me selling the incredible s would attract about 150 quid???? Even though I know it is definitely worth more.

Oh quid..... So like 300 cdn? Still a great deal.
Get over to the galaxy nexus forum and root that *****.

So the Nexus one is getting older... whats the next best phone to upgrade to?

Hello all,
So I know some of the developers are moving on to better phones... and I wonder, after the nexus one which has been an awesome phone, whats the latest greatest everyones going to (I use Att)
You didn't give a time frame for your upgrade but if you can hold out then the S2 looks like an excellent option. It's the first phone that I feel upgrades everything about the N1 and will likely be as popular as the original Galaxy S with the devs. It does lack NFC and has the same resolution as the N1 but it'll probably be years before NFC is commonplace (In the UK at least) and the Super Amoled Plus screen has been called one of the best, if not the best displays out there by several reviews (Check out engadgets review).
The LG 2X (or G2X) is gaining a bit of momentum, although the stock software is pretty bad.
I'd definitely gofor the galaxy S2. Thats like the phone of the millennia.

The S2 has NFC really (point of correction)
And to add to that, i have been using N1 since the month it came out and to be frank the only phone worthy of being an upgrade to my N1 is the Samsung Galaxy S2.

Not in the UK it doesn't
I don't want to go any bigger, so probably Desire S unless the Galaxy S2 Mini is almost exactly the same with the only difference being 3.7" vs 4.3" screen.
i didn't make up my mind between htc sensation or samsung g s2
I'd definitely go for the s2. I see more value for money on that.but that's just me.

Agreed, the Galaxy S II is the first phone that has looked liked a worthwhile upgrade to the N1. I've been a little tempted by it, however I've decided I can hold out a bit longer - for the possibility of a Nexus 3 in December. I'm hoping it'll be as revolutionary as the N1, and not a complete disappointment like the Nexus S.
I wouldn't really call the Nexus S a disappointment.... just more of a Nexus One.5; upgraded touch pannel, NFC, better GPU/CPU. It just wasn't a huge leap like the the previous ~500ghz phones to the Snapdragon.
I wanted the Sensation because I don't like the way Samsung has treated their upgrades, but if the SGSII is hackable enough I might concider it over the Sensation.
I'm thinking HTC Pyramid/Sensation...if it can be unlocked & rooted
I'm a vanilla stock Nexus guy, so I just splurged on a Nexus S. If it weren't for an accident, I probably would've hold out for the 3rd Nexus iteration or Samsung Galaxy S II.
Any phone with dual core and gingerbread in it
anything dual core
Seriously there is no point going with the Desire S or anything like that.
You're getting the same CPU except die shrinked. OK GPU is better but I'm not big on touch screen gaming so its moot for me, of course you may think otherwise. Screen, battery, functionality all similar to Nexus, you won't see much difference.
Basically you want a major bump, and that means atrix, SGS2, sensation, LG2x.
atrix is bootloader locked, ditto sensation. not sure about LG2x but it only has 512RAM, otherwise looks like a good phone. But Samsung Galaxy S2 looks like the runaway best option - you get a vastly better screen, better battery, cpu and gpu that smokes, also ships with gingerbread, very popular so lots of dev support, can't lose. Only issue is cost, gigantor size and availability - apparently there are 3 million preorders/backorders!!!!
In all honesty if SGS2 is not for you, I'd just wait. I'm doing that with my nexus one, I figure a 3.7 or 4" superphone is round the corner (not too keen on 4.3 gigantic size either), or I'll just save a few hundred bucks, in meantime the nexus is still trucking along doing everything I need it to do (push emails, SIP, music, light browsing, google sauce integration, gps, and oh yeah it works as a phone lol).
Is the new Sammy only coming out for ATT or is there also a Tmo version?
first time nexus one user. like it but i see y they made the s. had the g2x took it back, and i have the xperia play on the way. might go with the sensation on the 6th. they cracked the thunderbolt so they will crack that as well. ill keep selling and trading till than.
I have the GS1 and I am for sure getting a GS2. I have had all the droids except for the charge and the galaxy line is far superior to any other Droid. The only other phone I would get is the next Nexus. The rumor is its going to be the Nexus R.

Nexus R? How about Nexus 3!
I've Bern full out nexus one proponent. But the galaxy s2 is finally what interests me to upgrade. Its very future proof, comes with up to date android 2.3.3, minimal skin, and unlocked boot loader. It ticks every box more than any other upcoming phone.

[Q] Just sold my Nexus One...Now what?

So I just let go my favorite phone of all time so far for the same price that I bought it for locally. I really loved the N1 and had it for a few months (bought it late Sept of '10). My dilemma now is that I am addicted to pure Google Experience phones
I also love having the latest hardware, so for me (TMOBILE US) the G2x or the upcoming Sensation or SGS2 look pretty promising as well. Should I just stick it out for 200 days until December for the Nexus 3 or just get the US Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation? I'm stuck with my old SGH-T629 Slider phone until then
A co worker just got a g2x (from nexus one also)....and he dislikes the battery life...the 4g kills the battery

Really? I'm actually partial to the SGS2, with the increased RAM, ROM, and better processor (at least in early testing so far). It's even capable of a 2GHz overclock now. The internal memory and possible NFC support really has me hooked, even the FFC is better on the SGS2. The Phone is also ridiculously thin. The only draw back is the build quality, but that's made up for in SuperAmoled Plus, Gorrilla glass, and Codecs.
Yeah the G2x is my only dual core option for Tmobile, I'd rather get the Sensation over that. GS2 over both though

T-Mobile GS2 or Nexus Galaxy or something else?

I recently got an offer from T-Mobile and I got a free gs2 should I Keep it or should I sell it to buy a Galaxy Nexus? Im also thinking of switching to a Nokia WP7 been a long time Nokia Fan hardware but I'm confused as hell what would you guys do?

Try it out, see if you like it. I tried it out at the store, but it felt too big. The Galaxy Nexus might be the same size, but I hated the resolution on the GS2. 480x800 spread out on a 4.5in screen is so ugly. It feels like I should be able to put so much more stuff on it, especially since I was coming from my loaner Sensation, which has a 4.3in qHD screen. I honestly see no reason to buy the GS2 over the G-Nex, unless price is a factor.
Former Nexus One owner.
Galaxy nexus definitely. Nothing beats being the first (sometimes only for many months) to get OS updates. The HD resolution is a significant plus as well.

I actually used for a bit like 3 hrs I found it to be a great phone compared to my N1 but I felt like it was missing something I couldn't pointed out it felt so simple I think the hardware felt played out but I been spoiled by nice materials. as far as the price I think if its over 600 bucks is a no go for me is too much for a phone that might be old specs in the middle of 2012.

I think I lean more on the Nexus been able to tether for free and been unbranded and unlock. but lately T-mobile service has been giving me crap about updating my data I hope this doesnt happen with the New Nexus

As far a price is concerned I'm expecting the GSM version to be 529 off-contract like the previous Nexus phones.

SGS2 wins on hardware. Galaxy Nexus wins on software. What do you like better?
I'm looking at the Amaze 4G and the Galaxy Nexus. I'm leaning more towards Galaxy Nexus.

I think the galaxy has this premium look with the HD display and the curved glass as far as the TI Omap processor vs the Exinos I have no idea what would perform better but I know the GS2 from TMo carries the same processor as the amaze.
Just go for the galaxy nexus. I'm sure you won't regret it. The software was optimized for the hardware plus the timely updates won't give you headaches. Wait for the reviews though.
Do you guys think it will be released soon before January or you guys think that verizon will get the exclusive for a few months? I don't think I can wait LOL
They haven't announced anything for US GSM carriers so I would think this will be at last a 2 month exclusivity. By then the source will be released so I doubt I would be able to buy a T-Mo version before trying ICS on my N1.
If you're not bothered about which carrier you're on then I would seriously consider a droid RAZR instead of either of those two. I know technically its worse than both but there's something really high quality in the feel of Moto's new UI that I just can't quite put my finger on and it wouldn't be a huge wait until ICS either (I think it'll probably get it before GSII). Anyway thats just my own humble opinion, consider or ignore it as you wish.
Also it's probably worth me pointing out that I do live in the UK so things like carrier decisions and multiple GSII variants simply are not a concern here. We have one GSII and its on every carrier. Nearly all phones here are on every carrier. Just thought I'd add that in there.

[Q] Nexus One, thoughts?

Hey guys, I am currently on the HD7 and am looking to trade for a Nexus One or even a Nexus S (any band I guess). I am just here to see what your thoughts are on the device. Honest opinion, I dont really have money to put in on the side, do you think I could do better than the Nexus One? I have a guy that will 1v1 a Galaxy S 4G as well. Is the Galaxy S4G better than the Nexus One?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Get the galaxy a,. Better cpu and gpu + google still supports it
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
If you're looking to unlock and root the N1 (if it hasn't been done already) then it won't matter if Google supports it or not. You may be able to get ICS through future ROMs. The SGS 4G's better gpu really only matters if you want better graphics...and the cpu isn't that much different. If I could do it again...even with the phones out there now, I'd get another N1. I've had mine since early last year and I've had zero problems with it up until it got dropped into a cup of beer. So, it's built very well and it runs as good as the day I bought it.
I really like the design of the Nexus One. Its gonna be a tough choice.

Who is getting the HTC vivid or already has it?

IMO as soon as you overclock the Vivid the Skyrocket doesn't have much point...
Seems like the only reason you might want it is because it's light and thin compared to the Vivid, but the Vivid sounds like a solid phone and reviews so far seem to like the materials.
I might get it too, it looks good.
I will most likely go for the Vivid, I've only owned iPhones and the Galaxy S (Captivate) always wanted to try an HTC, though the battery is larger in the skyrocket. Like was stated I'm sure it will be OCed to 1.5 or higher to match the skyrocket.
If the Skyrocket had better resolution, 480x800 is pretty low at 4.5" I'd go Skyrocket fore sure.
I'm at the at&t store now getting the HTC vivid
i'm vouching for HTC, great phones. I owned a sensation and fell in love with it
I am not i think its weird looking
Taking my Infuse back today
I had the OG SGS2, traded it in for the Infuse, and am going today to trade that one in for the Vivid. I'm hoping this is my last stop! This will be the first HTC android phone that I buy, but based on the quality of my old WM HTC phones, I'm looking forward to getting this one!
Just picked up mine about 15 mins ago and its looking pretty sweet so far. Can't wait for it be rooted and some custom roms.
got mine 2 hours now its very good and fast. cant wait to get rooted and overclocked to see what this baby can really do.
Picked mine up a few minutes ago as well. Love it so far. HTC makes very high quality devices
Has anyone picked up the white one? Curious how it looks in person.
Just got mine.
Coming out of a Tilt 2. What a change.
I got mine a few hours ago its a great device the one thing I noticed so far is the volume level its pretty low compared to the gsII varients besides that it beats out the skyrocket.

i know there is a thread on here to vote for which phone u want a forum for so if anybody hasn't already search and vote. Also i did notice that it is quiet. But im getting better download speeds than with my rooted Inspire which was 3mbs down and 1.6 up now im getting 6mbs down and 1.6 up with my vivid and im not even in a LTE network
Just picked mine up. I looked at the white one...not a fan. fun fun!
I got mine as well and man oh ma is LTE fast! Can't post screenshot yet cause its not rooted but I'm consistently getting high 20 mbs down and 12 mbs up! I'm in Dallas and this speed is ridiculous. Hopefully I'll get decent amount of battery life with this phone. Gave my wife the galaxy s2 with cm7.

I am most likely gonna get one as well considering I keep getting Hardware issues with my Atrix 2 I just got. That and HTC is Quite a bit easier to root and s-off than Motorola as far as I remember. That and I also won't have to wait for unlocked bootloader which might take quite awhile. Only problem though is that I bought my Atrix 2 from Best Buy who for some odd reason are selling the HTC Vivid for 100 More than ATT is selling it at.
