I believe that it's not open to public testers yet. I went on his tumblr and saw some screenshots, but couldn't find a link.
Reading his posts, I think that -- for now, at least -- it's only intended for dedicated testers.

The beta is avalible now. But far from complete. Once my ace is fixed I will continue work.

Has anyone experienced error in activating bluetooth? My bluetooth is not working after flashing this.

it's working now.. i think wiping dalvik cache did the trick

Is the rom working well? Any lag or fc issue? How the battery life?

Just started using it today.. So far so good. No issue yet..

I don't know if it's a bug but apps icon randomly disappears but returns after some time. happened to me twice but that does not bother me.
another issue on the music player when i use it it creates a huge amount of data in the sd card / Andorid/data folder, i think its library thumbnails. I hade 9G of music and it created 3G of that data. again this doesn't bother me because i can use winamp without any problems..
Just putting it out there...

I put it (Carbon beta ) to my wife's Ace. Updated lagfree to v3. no issues yet. changed theme according to her prefreces. battery life is WAY BETTER than it was on stock 2.3.6
Great ROM, and I heard rumors that Jusada is releasing next beta pretty soon

Ive been using it for about 6 days and its near as bloody perfect as a rom can get. the sim issues though seem to depend on the sim card and the net work you are on personally my sim stuff works just great

Hi @Ex Deus Xien...
This rom "Carbon_Sunday_Beta (Superfly) is by far the fastest most stable rom available to date... I along with @yeowwwai are endorsing this rom when ever we can... It is an epic achievment by @jusada...
Now, I notice that you are using allinone script with lagfree v3 + Turbo boost v8.5...!!! Allinone is totally unnecessary if you are using the other two scripts... All the tweaks in allinone are also in the other 2 scripts... running all 3 will hinder performance because although some of the instruction lines in the 3 scripts mirror each other, the end variables differ, which will cause the system to keep reconfiguring itself depending on which instruction line it is currently executing.
This can cause apps to FC etc, without indicating a particular problem for causing the FC... making debuging a nightmare & throwing up lots of red herrings (false errors)...
!!! Actions to correct script issues !!!
1. Delete allinone script entirely...
2. look at the instruction lines in v8.5 & lagfree v3 scripts, any lines that are mirrored in each script, check that the end variables match... If they do not then you can do one of two things...
1a. Change one of the end variables to match the other script...
1b. Delete one of the mirrored instruction lines that way the system only executes one instance of the same instruction with one given variable...
IMO use 1a, that way if you are not happy with performance, you can edit the instruction to use the other variable given & test that for performance...
Trust me... It may seem like a lot of work, especially for newbies, but the end result is well worth the effort...
If you think it will help, I will upload my own Build.prop, Lagfree v3 & V8.5 scripts (edited as above) for you or anybody else to use... Just reply to this post or PM me...
Check my sig for setup & OC details... I can also provide bench screens so that the family can see how these edited scripts perform...
Finally... !!!All information regarding "Carbon_Sunday_Beta (SuperFly) can be found here !!!

You won't get the same score in antutu each time you run it. For all we know, your phone could have been at peak performance when you ran the test (meaning the score might decrease the next time you run antutu). Do you have any evidence (other than your antutu result) that is more reliable? Or is this just a placebo? Last question: this came from the xperia x8 thread. How do you know that it works on our phone without conflicting other parts of the phone?

yes sir it is really true in antutu we cant get constant scores everytime, but atleast we can use it to check the performance to some extent..
you can also check out neocore benchmark screenshots in the link,
I played gangster2 after adding this tweak, its really smooth at oc 710mhz...
its came from x8 thread , i have got an x8 after using this tweak with nAa kernel i got something around 700 in antutu, as both lg p500 and x8 has got same adreno 200 gpu, i tested it, it really worked, so i posted it on xda so that others could get some help from it...
sir, i'm new on xda, pls guide me this is my first post itself...
thank u...
I will check & revert tonight.

cause it gave me bootloop on nightly build
What if you do NOT add those build.props with new libs, or you add those build.props with original libs? How's the performance then?

Some of those lines that have to be added to build.prop require to wipe dalvik cache before rebooting to have effect.

dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=v,o=y seems to be the offendant line, removing it will allow me to boot fine, othewise i get a bootloop in CM nightlies... (wiping dalvik does not help..)
Even though it boots, it doesnt do justice in traditional benchs, neocore (61.7) and quadrant (1024) @748 performance, those are practically the same scores i usually get without this tweak...
havent tried antutu nor playing games yet...
BTW, theres kinda similar tweak in optimus black

First you need to install CWM Recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529863
Second you need to download CM9 from here:
http://galaxyics.com (Click DOWNLOAD, scroll down and click on Select below the Mini picture, then click on Releases, then click Download)
Then flash it through CWM.
You might know this already, but if you really want to install CM9 in a SGM, you need to have in mind that CM9 in SMG is not stable (yet). For example, if you want to install the CM9 of Squadzone, you should really read these two links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20495725&postcount=225
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20703957&postcount=286
Of course, there are other versions of CM9 for Samsung Galaxy mini in the Dev. Forums, but I didn't try them.
About the CWM, I use the v4, because at the first time when I wanted to install CyanogenMod, the CWM v5 didn't install the ROM correctly (never passed from the bootscreen "android"). And the Backup/restore in CWM v5 didn't work it (at least in my Galaxy Mini). But the Restore function worked perfectly in CWM v4 and, until now, I hadn't problems installing other ROMs in my SGM.
I really recommend (for now) use CM7 RC 5.6 or (RC 5.3 - the one that I'm using it now). If you want CM9 only for the ICS Appearance, you can install a ICS theme with "Theme Chooser" from CM. There's also an ICS Launcher that works good.
Just Saying~
you need to have in mind that CM9 in SMG is not stable (yet)

From that link in my previous post I installed CM9 on my SGM and it is very usable to me.
I'm not using it constantly because it lacks some features that I found, and I'm used to, on squad's CM7, for example. But it's very good.

Nice! which CPU governor did you use and with what Min and Max frequency? How did you do with the laggy visual effect? right now, would you prefer CM9 more than CM7 from squad's? I'm asking all these questions because I want to have CM9 in my SGM but somehow, the first and second time I installed that CM9 I went back to my CM7.2 RC 5.3 backup xD

I always use as Governor lilgV2 (or SmartassV2 when present) and I/O noop. On that ROM the laggy visual effect is hardly noticed, try it!
As I said before: I'm not using CM9 (yet) because it lacks some features that squad's CM7 has. But if you are not used to them, you will not note any difference.
You should try it and see for yourself.
Regarding CM9 Beta4, just read the thread in this section and the entire thread in the dev section before you fiddle with it and decide if it's worth it for you.
There's a lot of fiddling and some things are somewhat working while others, like camera, are just not working at all.
IMO, it's not for daily use and won't be for a long time but if you have a spare mini, give it a try and help with the development and bug reporting.

Using themes is tricky. You would have to extract the PNG files and replace them.
For using boot animation open the mtz file with 7zip or winrar. Inside "boot " folder you will find bootanimation.zip. You can easily replace in CM7 in /system/media folder. If u use root explorer don't forget to set rw-r--r-- permission.

To make it look like MIUI you can get MiHome launcher from play store(comes with locker, you can apply its native themes). Also there is a similar launcher called QQLauncher you can try that as well. And of course DxHome as well.

Hi all! I am not new but it's been a long while since I been around. I flashed back to stock 2.2 cause I had same kinds of issues like reboot and sod with every ROM I have tried. I guess since they are ports there is one thing that just isn't right lol. I know nothing about developing but it seems we are always so close but yet so far with this phone. Anyway I just got my phone back from warranty replacement and thought I would check in and see if there is any improvements with these issues and what ROM would be the most stable for day to day use? I have read through all the threads already and I would really appreciate if someone could bring me up to date on your thoughts? Thanks a bunch to everyone here and the help you have contributed!

if you are looking for most stable rom with everything working ..... than i will recommend Sharp Fix1 with kernel from Sharp Fix2 ...... this combination is perfect, battery friendly, game friendly..... everything working like cam, fm ,wifi etc .. So, here is what u need to do for a fresh Sharp Fix1 installation ...
1. install RC3 from tjstyle
2. install Sharp Fix1
3. install kernel from Sharp FIx2
4. (optional) install UOT patch from vivekb , it gives you a nice power widget in notification screen
i hope you can find all required files in respective threads ....
Yeah that is the combo I was on before I decided to throw in the towel and flash back to stock. I had the same issues with the sharp ROM as I do with all the others. Probably not as bad though. Thanks anyway bud.
Hey you have stock 2.2? if you do can i have that? If you even have cwm recovery..

Best ROM (stable)

Good night ,
A friend of mine asked me to install a ROM on his i9001. The phone is completely stock.
I'm not asking for the best ROM available, because i know that that it's against the forum rules .. I just want to know which ROM as less bugs, because my friend doesn't understand anything about this, and if something goes wrong , he's going to blame me lol.
Please help me
Thanks

Would be better if you post on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029211 It was created for this kind of stuff. My recommendation are gingerbread+ too and ginger revenge. Please stop spamming development section. Good luck.

Sorry, I didn't saw that thread. Thanks.
Ginger revenge
Basically all functions work in GB, ICS and JB, but the only real difference is how AWESOME GPS works on GB, and how terrible it works on ICS/JB.
And the roms which are mentioned are idd the best options, you also could try broodROM Business Edition, but it's not as dated as Gigabread and Gingerrevenge
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923279
Ginger Revenge, i´m realy satisfied with it
You can use my ROM , you will not regret it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143035
I suggest GingerRevenge for GB(RC3)
ARCO 68's CM9 for ICS(RC5)
Ivendor's CM10 for JB (beta 2)
Kernels:
GB:feacore (Jack of all traits!)
Skyhigh (super performance)
ICS:Broodplank kernel
JB: ErikMOD kernel(performance+++)
Diablo333 kernel
Nexus kernel
Device model:SGS+ (i9001)
Recovery:TWRP 2.4.1.0
baseband version:XXXPF
Current ROM:CM10 by ivendor beta 1
Best ROMs ever:
1.GB: GingerRevenge by hiej
2.ICS: CM9 by arco68 RC4
3.JB: ivendor CM10 beta 1
After testing almost all roms my suggestion as of now is
Slim rom

I used to like the Endroix ( CM9 ), but the Dev has stopped the further development on that and the last version got some random reboot issues.
and if you are referring to Ehndroix II , I dont have a good impression on it from start, I do agree that look wize its the Best available, but performance wize its not stable.
CM10 is still buggy, and adding application on top of that will not help,
As of now only GB is stable to work with ,u can use either Ginger Revenge (using it now) or Gigabread+ .
Cheers,
KiK

Gamerzrom v4 best for gaming and multitasking but battery drains kinda fast, currenty im using ParanoidAndroid 3.69 latest and at 3 days of testing it looks amazing good battery, with alot of options, also its good for gaming
my recommendations
Hi!
Have tried many ROMS(including Slim, CM, GamerzROM) and at this moment I have only few favorites:
Supernexus - clean AOSP ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219235
MokeeOS - has a lot of features and very fast(I wondered how )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2352448
GearKernel tastes good with ROMs listed above
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330446
[jOP40D] OFICIAL ANDROID 4.2.1 <RC2> (JB) GALAXY NEXUS STOCK ROM by ELITEMOVIL - old but good one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004906
CM 10.2 - testing it on my old i9000 and it feels like fast and stable with good memory management.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385178
Listed ROMs gave me about 4000 or better in Antutu Benchmark.
Hope this is helpful.
Also recommend to set "Background process limit" to 2 or 3 in Developer options

For me CM10 Release 2.5 from ivendor is unbelievable smooth in comparison with the latest stock ROM. I use it with K^Kernel 3.0 which makes it even better.

I tried hellybean once again. I had been using cm7.2 and cm10.1 nightlies until 20130723 build was released. this is the best release of the devilkernel and hellybean in a long while. This is probably because cm10.1 is pretty darn stable right now.
Anyways, with hellybean you need the devil kernel manager app to configure it properly. You can also use nstools to undervolt, but it's alright even if you don't.
It's basically cm10.1 but you get the devilkernel and the xposed framework with the rom. You'll have to install the gapps for android 4.2 separately.
http://hellybean.com/I900042.html
It's really a great kernel (right now, semaphore is good too), and the 20130723 release is great. Battery is decent, performance is flawless if you tweak it. Use the dkm app and also enter Systemsettings -> System -> Find "Build.prop Mods" -> set wifi scan interval to 150, pm sleep to "power collapse", dalvik cache to 48m and enable gpu acceleration at the bottom. These tweaks might be "placebo/sugarpills" but it shouldn't cause problems. You can check "optimize tcp stack" too, not that I notice the difference really.
In DKM app, you could set ram setting to "XL", enable zram and set zramsize to 150. on the cpu tab, use smartassv2 governor with the powersave profile, or normal difference is negligable. Enable deep idle if you want. next page, enable fast charge if you know to disable it when you want to transfer files over usb. On the misc tab, make sure bluetooth kill is on, fsync control is off and dynamic fsync is on. Smooth ui should be on if you feel it's laggy otherwise.
That's how I've configured it for now. I don't think I'll upgrade hellybean for a while, that usually leads to unstability and/or performance loss.
ThinkingBridge ROM
ROM: ThinkingBridge ROM Stable-1
Theme it with : SGS IV - TW + AccuWeather S4
Mod with: Fly-On Mod
And finally install Greenify for better RAM management.
And you are good for a very long time!!

Hi guys great topic, i'm deeply interested.
A friend of mine gave me her i9000 to "repair" because it was laggy as hell.
I tried few roms last week with her criterions :
Not laggy for common tasks (almost no gaming) even with few widgets on home screen
Good battery life is a plus
I first tried some JB rom (C-Rom, SuperNexus) great experience but they were laggy as hell with few apps installed (i had about 5sec lag between each action). I see that you guys recomment hellybean, would you feel that the smoothness would be better?
I did'nt try ICS roms as i see in the dev section that most of them are abandonned.
I finally tried a GB (JWB), the smoothness is better but i experience big lags on the calling apps (remake all my call multiple times when i finished it...). I guess the best option would be the GB smoothness without this laggy call app.
What would be your recommendations? more searching in the JB roms (hellybean etc.)? or trying CM7, or other GB stocks?
thanks in advance for your recommendations,
CM7 is great in performance - fastest ROM i've tried for i9000, but if no new features needed.
Using CM 10.2 for about a week and it feels good and have some battery-friendly features.
Better to make full wipe before installing any of 4+ roms
Thanks, my todo list is now:
RemICS
HellyBean
carbon rom(unofficial by aways) + devil kernel
SlimBean
Any other suggestion?

You can also give a try to Semaphore Kernel with those ROM. I really appreciate Stratosk work
actually, its not ROM fault ur fone laggy, it da background app dat does it, kill some unuse app in background, u can find some list of sys app dat u dont use it but it run without ur knowledge
n bout kernel n tweak or script tweak, any custom kernel was magnificent, no comparing from me n credits goes to all kernel n tweak/script creator, but u can choose any that u like.

To add to this, apps like Greenify can help reduce background RAM usage.
