[Q] In Call Headphone/Auxiliary Behavior Problem - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I'm trying to setup my GNote just how I like it and when I think I'm almost done I run into a major problem.
I use my phone a lot in my car, but I mount it to my dash (local phone usage laws) and connect it to an Auxiliary input to my car speaker system. My Droid X, when set up this way, allowed me to listen to the caller through my speaker system, but kept my voice input on the handset itself (probably because it detected that there was no mic installed, come to think of it my GF's dumbphone does the same thing)
But my GNote instead thinks there is a MIC and mutes the handset input! That really REALLY makes it difficult while driving because I would need to use the (terrible) speakerphone & unplug the AUX every time I want to take a call while driving, then replug it in after the call to listen to music again.
Someone please tell me there is some sort of fix or work around for this. This is a major deal breaker for me
PS: I'm rooted, & on Rocket Rom with LA4 Kernel.

After some more research I'm starting to think this is actually a software bug, because there are three different 3.5mm plugs and the phone should be able to recognize which is which and act accordingly i.e. turn off/keep on microphone.
Here is a photo of what I'm talking about

The single ringed jack is for mono, double ring = stereo, and triple ring = stereo w/ microphone. For some reason it detects the double ringed jack as a stereo w/ the microphone and shuts off the handset microphone for telephone calls only. I tried using the stock "Voice Recorder" app w/ stereo headphones plugged in and it works, but when I try to make a call the other person cannot hear a thing.

Sorry to bump my own thread, but could really use some help here
Does anybody else's Note exhibit this behavior?

XDA1 stereo headset button not functioning

I bought a headset for my XDA1, which has a sonyericsson label on it, but looks completely like the one i've seen on this site (probably the same type). My problem is that the answer button on the mic does nothing at all.
I tested the button with pressing it while recording, and i hear the click. Do i need some extra program which recognises this? Has anyone got any experiences regarding stereo mic headsets? Software is 4.01.16 T-Mobile
i would guess it's because they dont use the same connectors for button and mic as the HTC headset
Everything is fine, except the answer button, although that works also (grounds mic line). It just wont answer the call. Headphones are good too, its cool to use the XDA as an MP3 player.

Where did you buy it? How much was it? I want one too, cause the original headset's quality is really crap.
Mine is probably the same as yours. Its a sonyericsson, but the mic is exactly the same as the HTC i found on this site.
Found this pic on eBay. The headset is the same, but without the radio.

You could probably modify yours and put any kind of headphones on top of the mic. You good at soldering?

Headphone adapter + hissing normal?

Hey folks, dropped the gf off at the airport and she realised she'd forgotten her phone, consequently she'd got no music to listen to so muggins handed over the ipod.
Now I'm left with my faithful touch dual and a headphone adapter I got from eBay (as per one of the posters in this forum)

...and my Etymotic ER6i headphones which have to date provided me with stunning audio quality.
Only problem -- hiss, and a lot of it! Now I know that my headphones are very sensitive, if there's a less than perfect audio connection involved hiss does occur.
As such, I'm wondering if anyone else out there has similar experience, or indeed no issues at all and could recommend a better headphone adapter (pref with mic).
Thanks in advance!
*****SOLVED*****
Returned that first adapter for refund (the microphone didn't even work when I tried it!) and ordered a different sort, as seen below:
Completely different story, sliding the volume control on the adapter right down and upping the device volume allows for clear sound and zero hiss. I'm a happy chappy
The microphone even works...bonus!
nb. for anyone who's interested:
A long press on the button initiates voice dial and hangs up.
Double tapping it calls the last number dialed.
A single tap will put the other person on hold during a call.
Only thing..... anyone know how I can boost the microphone sensitivity just a bit so I can have it a bit further (it's ok btw, don't let me put anyone off, I just want an extra bonus bit of sensitivity )
I hade a similar issue with bluetooth headsets.. the solution seems to be if you're headset etc has volume control, put it low, and increase the nike's volume.

problem hearing other person during a call

Hello
I have a xperia x1 phone. The bluetooth I use in my car is the AVIC F90Bt.
I had no problem before with my TYTN II or samsung blackjack.
Now what I have as far as a problem is. When I talk to someone and the other person is using bluetooth, I lose some of the words the other person is saying.
It is worst if the person doesn't speak loud enough. It is like if there is a process analysing sound and if the sound of the other person is not strong enough, it cuts it.
I seached the forum and found no solution for this. Only for increasing speaker volume
Does anybody have an idea of what I could do. I won't be able to keep the X1 if it stays that way.
Greetings

Hello
Meaning?
if this is not clear. I have the pioneer avic F90bt with the built-in bluetooth support in it. I use it for XM Radio, GPS and bluetooth for my phone. It uses the parrot software in it. I have version 3.0 of the software in it.

Yes but what's the other person using
Hello
I tested with a couple of different bluetooth at the other end and got the same result.
Greetings
Have you tested it with different bt on your end?
Hello
No I don't have another one. It is really a sensitivity problem. I noticed also that I don't hear the phone ring, I only hear when the person talk strong.
I don't hear the ringing song.
I will continue to investigate.
Greetings

[Q] Speaker Dock/Bluetooth Speakers

When I used my iPad, I had the Jensen Rocker dock that was pretty much perfect for all media purposes, with a swivel mount to allow the iPad to be used in portrait or landscape, rather decent built-in speakers in the base, remote control, etc.
I'm sure the answer is 'no', but does anybody know of any sort of speaker dock available for the Tab? I've only found things that require being plugged into the headphone jack or syncing with Bluetooth, which would be fine if there were some central spot to at least perch the Tab so it looks like it was built for such use.
I have the HDMI dock, but even plugging that into some external speakers would look more like a rigged Frankenstein contraption. It seems that accessory makers have all but given up on the Tab, so are we pretty much stuck without all the goodies like a speaker dock? What do you guys use, if anything, for this purpose?
Hi, If you prefer quality sound over just-some-sound, then BlueTooth cannot be because they are bandwidth limited compared to the full audio band record in CD. I don't have a dock, but if I ever wants sound to SGT, then I would get it from headphone jack with voodoo sound anti-jitter and 128x oversampling.
I use a Bluetooth receiver connected to my Stereo System.

The Tab just sits in one of these cheap docks:
I bought the samsung bluetooth speakers for 50 euro at 1dayfly.nl and satisfied as they are officially 200 euro.

[Q] x8 headset fix

as already asked i would like to modify this fix for the x8 headset to make it work with a single button headset
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22597827&postcount=1386
when i press the button once it open the radio or play sto the music when i'm in the player if i long press it change to shuffle ....
it's not really useful i would like to make it answer at the call at least can someone help me?
thank you all and sorry for my english.
I dont want to spam but...
I would love to be get working headphones with minijack that have 3 lines normal headphones have 2 and also with one button but on my when I press a button music get louder not like volume up but just they start to sound normal without clicked button they sound really low
This happens because the sony xperia jack is mixed up you need a corrector jack if you go some store they sell headphone compatible with x8 that can accept other type of headset and not only that one provided like the original mh 500. Sorry for my english

Edit :
After some research you can also buy a 3.5mm TRRS headset audio adapter
or a Nokia Music Headset HS-45, AD-57
and returning IT this latest headset seem also to proper work answering to the call
No one can help me modify this fix?
