went from an iphone 4 to it. so far i like it 100000 times better. the screen is gorgeous. i love the layout. i was never much of an apple man myself.
does anyone have any tips? anything to look out for with the phone, things to do to help it run faster, anything really. i dont even know where to begin asking questions. all this is so new to me.
any friendly help would be greatly appreciated!
Depends on what you want to use it for. Dropbox and Evernote are must-have apps for me, and I prefer Kaiten for email.
In the themes and apps section, you'll find a recent thread with setups for making your note a great in-car tool (with a car dock home app, navi, poweramp for music, etc.)
I'm running stock except using GoLauncher EX for my launcher. Been very pleased with speed, responsiveness, and battery life, so haven't felt the need to root.

Definitely try ss, go, and Adw launchers. I switch between the 3 as they are all good. Pick up stickman golf-very addictive. And get any and all emulators

Not sure if this type of page is allowed to be linked here, but if you Google search "emuparadise" you will find the page with lots of ROMS to download.
for look & feel go launcher is my personal fav. There are so many free & paid themes available. Also, u can check out the new widgets & plugins for go launcher. they have introduced a new go power master. This has got good power profile setting options. I am getting good performance & battery life (now @ 19% 2days 9 hours).
spb shell 3d is also good, but i like go launcher better.

Hi guys !
I bought this phone 3 days ago for 70$ on ebay. Its unlocked and new in box with all the extras.
But now i discovered i cant use many games on it like asphalt 7 : Heat or Temple run.
Is there any method to play those games and other ?

use chainfire 3d ..with plugins..and you may use overclock..
it is better if you use temple run arm v6..which is compatible for mini

What the hell are you expecting??? Asphalt 7??? You will never play it on this phone. You won't get a Nexus 4 for this amount of money.

You want such games buy a Nexus 4 or 10, get better phone.

Was just asking opinion.
About the outlook the iphone wins easily. SIII is just to big. But IOS loose when compared to the SIII. SIII seems cooler in the inner look.
If it was smaller lets say like nokia lumia 800 would be great. !

I would propose a GB 2.3.6 based or a CM7 based ROM if you look at performance rather than ICS or JB based ones.
Personally I have installed Xtreme G on the Mini of my daughter. Its slim and fast.

Not sure which Android version you currently have on your fone. But follow a couple of Episodes provided in this thread.
If you have Froyo currently installed you need to update to Gingerbread first --> Episode#2
Then you can flash CWM 5.5.2.8 which is the best in my opinion for S5570 --> Episode#4
Then you can start the fone into recovery mode and do a CWM backup cause its one of its menu options

I try a lot roms ( |TWBased| cuz i use s-pen futures) and every roms is same problem for me... When i install a new rom (my choice is clean install) the first week is like a heaven smooth-fast-stable... But then What's going on i don't know phone is lagging,heating etc.
I'm on BurtROM... In fact i recommend everybody rom is good i think. of use at best.
This problem is the same for everyone? all JellyBean roms like this? Or this problem just for me?
in fact i hear people install 300apps and say phone is still good.
What am I doing? I don't play a game actually. I use too much social apps, drawing and music thats it.

Try the "top" command in the terminal emulator to see if anything is keeping your cpu busy.

Look dude,
You right that the Phone its run like heaven but if u full eith usless apps your USB Storage thr phone will drag some cpu.....Try deleting usless app and make sure that everytime you finish with an app you remove apps from Multitask and Clear Memory from RAM->Clear Memory.....

Social apps are well known to use a lot of energy as they always attempt syncing with servers.
I have found this iOS ROM for Galaxy Mini. Can anybody report if it is working perfectly or not?

One thing you MUST understand is that no ROM is perfect - the best ones have bugs too, so dont expect too much. However this ROM is quite good as an IOS ROM, though after a while you get bored with it. But whatever the case, it is quite a good ROM , few bugs only
So I would suggest it is a good ROM to use.

Yes it is. Actually I am big iOS/Apple fan and tried every launcher on play store but not satisfied. So if this works cool I am going to write about it on my blog. There are plenty of iOS loverz lyk me.

I tried but it's not working. The lock screen is getting out of the screen horizontally hence not able to unlock the phone. Thanks for your reply.

Only one way, Don't install unnecessary apps like widgets,battery saver,antivirus softwares. and if possible use custom debloated ROM (caution :it'll void warranty).
I think we can get our warranty back by resetting the binary counter and flashing your country's FW again and unroot.

Thank you Mr. Harsh for your advice. As you said i also agree with you that installing many apps, widgets, antivirus softwares makes smartphone to lag. But what if i want to install more apps and still i can be in a smoother condition?

If you're playing games on your phone, moving them to sd will make them lag. Not faster. You can limit background process though for better multitask if you're having lags and not wanting to root.

And i recommend not to install launchers.. especially 3D launchers...they consume huge amt of RAM fir a continous period. which might affect performance of heavy games..

Moving app to SD card will only increase loading time.It won't give increase performance.
In addition, you can try not to install many chat apps (ie: viber, line, wechat etc..) cause all of this always running in background consuming ram space and battery. Just whatsapp is enough. Well good enough for me though.

But there're no debloated stock roms, only some customs with heavy theming.
Correct me, if I'm mistaken.
or you can root and de-bloat it yoursel, then un-root if you really want to keep it stock only.
Debloat by yourself mean to unninstall the apps that you dont need.
For example, i have only 98 apps from over 160 apps who came stock ROM.
Its only your choice what applications choose to erase from stock.

the phone is good and a great value for money after the recent price drop...
all games run quite nice with occasional lag and hiccups and thats due to lesser ram in the phone...if you are heavily inclined towards playing high end games i would suggest you to not go for this one buy a phone with atleast 1gb ram...
and one more disadvantage (not for everyone though) is that this phone is not really developer friendly and apple of every developer's eye out there due to chipset...

On jellybean with everything stock, it's likely that they will lag.
But dude read! This thread is not for buying advice! You can do enough research about this phone's performance if you would just search the forum.
