Inquiry on N7000 frequency band (can it be changed?)

Hello, i recently moved from Asia to North America and i found out that the frequency band requirement to be able to have the galaxy note n7000 working in Canada is to have bands 1700/2100. Is there any procedure that i can do to get this supported? Is it a change in baseband, modem, etc? If so, what baseband or modem should i be flashing to get the band 1700/2100 supported?
Would appreciate all suggestions on how to go about this. thank you!
No.

[Q] Is my HTC One m7 EU or USA version?

Hi all,
I bought my HTC one M7 on aliexpress, EU version for France, but the phone don't receive the 4G frequencies.
I saw that USA version don't have same 4G band as EU..
But how can I check if my phone is really USA instead of EU version?
Best regards !

the "fastboot getvar all" command will list all your phone details which will help to determine what version of the M7 you have exactly.
Hi, thanks for answer,
With fastboot getvar all I found : "mid : PN0714000"
So it seems to be Htc One m7 HK/asia version .. that's why LTE don't work in France, sh*t !
Just have to sell it and find a new phone now
Finally I have the 801e PN07110 version, I just found it's not LTE compatible like 801n ..
But I don't find the version with LTE for France (800/1800/2600mhz), anyone know it?
Thanks !

so fastboot getvar all reported PN0711000 or PN0714000 ?
European version with LTE is PN0710000
Oh, finally I have :
- PN0711000 on the rear body of the phone
- PN0714000 with fastboot getvar all
I contacted HTC, they said this phone is USA LTE version originally at&t.
So maybe the MID or the body of the phone has been changed (it's refurbished) ?
Do you know if 1800 or 2600mhz lte bands are supported with usa version ?
Thanks a lot !

Ok so,
- On the body it's written PN07110 ( = M7_U , no LTE)
- Fastboot getvar all report m7_UL LTE PN0714000 ( not EU, not US)
- HTC say it's an AT&T LTE phone : OK, but the MID should be PN0712000 .. no?
Hard to understand .. First I think the body of the phone is not original.. and I think I don't have 900mhz for 3G (HTS US make a mistake?)
This is what HTC US said me :
This is an HTC One (M7) from AT&T.
These are the bands of this device:
LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 17(700).
This is for 3G: 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100.
And this is for 2G: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900.
Regards !

Phone is s-off, so the actual MID means nothing. Just because the actual MID is PN0714000 doesn't mean it wasn't something else originally (maybe PN0712000). Its sure a M7_UL not a M7_U. That can not be changed, even with s-off, so its not a PN0711000 (not a M7_U) for sure.
If you really want to know what this phone was originally (MID and CID), you must dump the MFG partition (mmcblk0p6) and send it to me (via pm only).
You must have root to dump the MFG partition:
connect your phone to your computer, make sure its booted normally in the OS with usb debugging on.
open a command window from your adb/fastboot folder of your computer
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p6_bakup.img
Then send me the mmcblk0p6_backup.img file (256K) (file is at the root of your phone storage after doing the commands above).
Thanks !
I've just send the file to your mail

Voilà:
IMEI: 354***********9

P/N: 99HTT040-00
MID: PN0712000
CID: CWS__001
Manufacturing date: 2013/05/10
So yes it was AT&T branded (original CID/MID is AT&T)
Thanks a lot for your help Alray, I will see with the seller if we can find a solution

M7_UL is the GSM variant so it should work fine on LTE even in France (afaik)
You might need to flash the european radio or flash the compete european RUU (7.19.401.2)
Are you sure your APN is correctly configured?

1st, this thread is a question about EU version vs USA version, off topic
2nd, this is the HTC One M7 forum not desire 620g
3d. its CyanogenMod not CyclogenMod You made my day with this one haha, would be a good name for a mod btw.
Apparently, there is no forum for the 620g on XDA so i'll try to answer your question here even if its off topic.
To flash custom roms on HTC phones, you first need to unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and then flash the custom rom.
Follow instructions on htcdev.com/bootloader to unlock it
Download and flash twrp or cwm version for your phone and flash it using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_file.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then push the rom you want to flash to your phone storage (or on the external sd card if the phone is equipped with) and install it using twrp.
If you have more questions there is a thread in the general section of xda for this device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/htc-desire-620g-dual-t3016967
maybe ppl there with the same device could help.

Are you sure ?? Yes I'm sure for APN.
I changed MID to PN0710000 (CID 11111111..) and flashed RUU N07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.2_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_421790_signed.zip
And I tried to flash another radio too : 4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L
.. but I have exactly the same result, 2g/3g ok but no 4g, I can select only USA bands with *#*#4636#*#*, see pic :
img15.hostingpics.net/pics/130301IMG201504292316151.jpg
Seems that HTC USA is correct when they say this device is "LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 17(700) " but no 800/1800/2600mhz ..
Now I reflash ViperOne ROM, and when installing I can choose only AT&T or Tmobile operator

Right, at least you have HSPA+ which is the faster connection I can get (I have a M7_U). I didnt noticed any real difference between my hspa+ connection and my gf's nexus 5 LTE connection.
I have another phone with LTE (BQ aquaris E5 4G), HOMYGOD it's so fast (speed test is 7 x higher than my H+ !)
I will try to sell this HTC one m7 and get another m7 version with LTE 800/1800/2600mhz.. or another phone ^^

difference between European vs Asian Software ?

What is the difference between firmware European vs Asian . I think that they are both working on the same bands (LTE band 3(1800), 7(2600), 20(800) ) .
are there things that exist in the European version is not found in the Asian version?

US Cellular V405UA bands

Hi,
Does anyone know which bands are enabled on the US Cellular v405ua firmware? I currently have the 20a QA firmware flashed which has pretty much all bands enabled, but there haven't been any updates to it. I was thinking about flashing the US Cellular 20e version, but am not willing to lose any bands.

Need assistance on ROM for Note 9

ok so I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 SM-N960U 128GB version from AT&T, where I live gets crud signal. Verizon has recently moved into the area and gets excellent signal here.
I have switched. I got the unlock code from AT&T and the phone is network unlocked, however I have issues, when at home I don't get any signal bars and can't make a call. however text and data work perfectly, (note: my wife's phone which is a S21 5G works perfectly (Verizon phone)) I don't have the resources at this time to afford a new phone, so I was thinking if I could get a VZW rom, would that be a good path to take. as then all the ATT stuff would be gone and all would be Verizon. #*#4636#*# shows when the phone is working properly that the voice network type is 1xRTT and when it isn't working it shows Emergency calls only VNT unknown, LTE data works perfect. except i have noticed when in a call my data goes off, and turns back on as soon as the call is done.
I am partly comfortable in replacing the rom if needed, if there is a fix (APN adjustments ect) I am willing to try it. (note: my wife has the Galaxy S21 from Verizon and has no issues at all. so i know it's not a tower issue it's a note9 AT&T issue)

The firmware that you want to download can't be flashed using Odin. You can not downgrade binary ( bootloader ) versions. Binary number/letter is the 5th number from right of the firmware/baseband name.
Your on binary 9 so you need to flash this version or higher.

ok so i am just wondering. is there an actual hardware difference between the ATT and VZW models of the Samsung Note 9 SM-n960U
i found this information on https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-sm-n960-model-number-differences/ 's website, if it's all controlled via software, then will replacing the software get me the correct stuff for Verizon, or am i just stuck with heck till i can afford to replace the device?
