[GT-P6800][3g]Deodexed&Zip-aligned System Apks (cwm update.zip) & System Bar Mod - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Android Development

[GT-P6800][3g]Deodexed&Zip-aligned System Apks (cwm update.zip) & System Bar Mod
Hi,
Deodex / zip alignment of the system/framework apks taken from Stock firmware:
From [ZSLA2] firmware. (apps / framework). tested working for this firmware but may work on others.
Again these are just the deodexed versions of the apps already on your system.
You are not changing anything kernel / csc / your data etc.
This is a cwm flashable zip.
Its in two parts. (join the zip files into one)
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?cwv5ri52j850hbz
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?qwjfkmdi7z5qepr
(make a cwm backup first - just in case)
Reboot to cwm recovery:
if you copied to internal memory - in cwm go to "install zip from sdcard"
if you copied to your external sdcard - install zip from internal sdcard.
(cwm labels the phone memory / sd card like this !!)
First boot will take approx 3~4 mins.
System Bar Mod - now part of power menu mod in another post.

Appreciate the effort, unfortunately boot loops on my tab.
Thanks.

thanks.

I flashed the deodex.
Thanks.

Just realized I am on a different firmware (XXLA3).
Could it be the cause for the bootloop?

cool - if its not too much effort can manually copy over the apks from the zip into the /system/framework/ and into /system/app/ using adb. (first remove all files under those folders).
then wipe davik & wipe cache partition.
and reboot.
i have installed it on my tab so should work ok.
might need to reupload again
thanks again

ok i tried it again and worked fine so looks like a firmware incompatibilty issue.
would like to narrow the issue down.
appreciate the feedback.

just to make sure, can you please post the MD5 checksum of the Deodex zip file?
Thanks.

all stock apks are in the original deodexed zip. just extract it from /system/framework/ and copy over.
i will edit the batt stuff when i get some time should remove it in the mean time.
did u flash the deodexed.zip ok in the first place?

MD5 did not match. Possibly a bad download.
Your file's link is temporarily disabled in Dropbox...
Can you post on another file server?
Thanks.

Sorry dude.
Dont think I can get any more links up for a while. Will update when I can.
These were just meant for evaluation purposes only not anything more.
Hopefully I can sort it out soon.

I'm currently recovering a hard bricked GT-P6800 and have it revived via JTAG. ODIN is not permitting a factoryfs file to flash to the device but I have been successful in flashing all other zones (cache, hidden, param, zimage and recovery). Can some PLEASE do a factory data reset, then a backup in CWM and upload that backup for me to recover from?
Thanks!

how did u do a hard brick?
i have sucessfully used heimdall (linux) before to flash the factoryfs from the stock firmware. there is a download link somewhere.
also when trying a dd image of factoryfs /system partition using heimdall was not sucessful. so odin might be the same.
have u tried a stock factoryfs?

The unit was hard bricked with an invalid PIT and 10.1v firmware meant for a Tegra 2 unit. I'm very familiar with any/all flashing techniques and have tried to flash this zone with both ODIN, Heimdall and SPT Tool. It refuses to accept a factoryfs flash or a bootloader flash. I broke down a firmware and individually tar'd all files within it and they ALL flash except for factoryfs which fails at around 5-10% religiously. This is why I need a CWM backup or zip to flash/restore from. If you could PM the link to me that would be amazing as I understand you may not want it public. I'm sure you know within a backup (after a factory reset) there is no data to remain that would be your personal data so it's 100% safe. Once I am done, I will fully JTAG dump the first 1024MB of the EMMC chip to create a JTAG firmware backup as a secondary method of recovery when ODIN does not work...

Really could use this if you get a chance...

I feel plenty of lag on scrolling within the browser, any better wth deodex?

sometimes i think its faster but i think this has to do with zip alignment as well.
for my browser, its pretty snappy. i do have flash/scripts turned to on demand as opposed to always on.
also i use a ad blocking hosts file.

So (just to be clear) Do I download this, rename it to update.zip, then "reinstall" in recovery?
Or do i have to install rom manager, and flash from its boot screen

Don't Rename, well you can... But never rename to update.zip as this is how Clockwork is Used.. You select from install from .zip & select the name...
You and do either
adb reboot recovery from cmd prompt once you Have the update.zip downloaded from Rom Manager
or
You can Flash from Rom Manager.
Hey,
Great work here.
but, one question. I was told by koush during our talks about getting the bricks un-bricked that the only way to flash the baseband/radio was through odin.
does this flash the radio/baseband?
Thanks. Just want to clarify.

Just download the file, unzip it to your tab to folder clockworkmod, but in to recovery, do a backup of your current setup just in case, and than restore a backup of the file you downloaded.
Is this rooted?
It's v3.2 or v3.2.1 ?

just reporting that everything went fine. I'm now on 3.2.1 (not rooted).. thanks
Thanks Yanluk, I've been waiting for this.
I seem to be missing something though. your backup contains files for example "system.ext4.tar" when I boot into CWM and choose to restore the backup it says it cant find the system file, it seems to be expecting system.img.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I extracted it to clockworkmod/backup folder, same as the backup I made of my existing ROM.
The backup I made works just fine, and restores without a hitch, the backup I downloaded fails to restore properly due to the .ext4.tar vs .img files.
What I'm trying to figure out is, am I just doing it completely wrong, or is my version of CWM/ROM Manager somehow different.
Anyone keen to write a small guide? Especially coming from ISI's CM9 Rom? Keen to try.
.tar backup means it was created with CWM 5. CWM 4 can only handle .img backup.
So you should use CWM 5.
This backup works like a charm, but the baseband is not updated, it's still P7100BUKDF.

1- Make a backup of your current ROM.
2- Put the folder in the zip file in clockworkmod/backup folder
3- If you were on isi's 4.0.4 ICS, you should also have cwm 5.5.0.4, if not flash this build
4- Boot to cwm and restore from the new folder.
That's it. Enjoy

The radio remains the same as what you had on before flashing this. To update the radio we need the original OTA file from someone who has received the update. Instructions on how to get it has been posted here in previous posts.
All above is right. You need CWM 5.X.X.X
To root download first file from first post (tabrooteasy.zip) here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386545
Put on your tab and install with CWM.
Thanks makbil and Yanluk, much appreciated. Will test shortly. I was copying the folder to the Clockworkmod\Download folder. no wonder it wasn't working
This Rom is from CWM 4.0.0.4. Rom is Rootet.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nlr768ivhnz3v62/clockworkmod.zip
Easy way to root
It's easy to root the update, especially if you are coming from isi's ICS ROM.
I'm assuming you have already flashed the OTA update to 3.2.1.
1- Download this file from New and Easy way to ROOT and CWM 5.0.2.7 thread.
2- Copy Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip from that file to your device SD card.
3- Turn off tablet.
4- Boot into bootloader. (Power & Vol down buttons)
5- Go into fastboot. (You should see fastboot at the top left of your screen)
6- Connect to your PC.
7- fastboot boot recovery.img (Recovery 5.5.0.4 recommended). Wait, the tab will boot to recovery.
8- Install file Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip
9- Reboot
10- Done!
Now you should have root on your device.
Which is the recommended Baseband for the 3.2 update? I am still using the P7500XXKL3 version?

[Q] CyanogenMod 9 over Galaxy Note Update fail

Hi all, i`ve an GT-N7000 with CM9 20120515-Nightly instaled. When i tried to update following instruction:
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9
Copy CM9 ZIP to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
Flash CM9 zip
Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
Reboot
The clockworkmod in recovery mode version is 5.5.0.4. When i selected the zip file, clockwork decompress it and when finish, automatically reset the phone , but nothing happens regards to update de CM9, i`m still in the same version when consulting cyanogenmod version in properties.
¿ what i`m doing wrong ?
Please, i`ll appreciate your comments and guide.

Did you check MD5 of the file you downloaded? It may be corrupted or something. Just guessing bro..

Have u placed the zip file in internal or external SD? And keep in mind that CM9 swaps so the internal is actually external and vise versa...
And your file might be corrupted. Try download again maby using torrent if any difference. Atleast i had BIG difference on download speed...
If it doesnt help just wipe FACTORY reset and then Flash the zip....
Its safe to use wipe on CM9 recovery at least what i have heard and used..

try to copy something to the system folder and see if it goes through.

It is impossible for CWM to have "partial root" - everything in the initramfs runs with root privileges.

Solution for issues booting MJA

You can get the latest tar file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522810 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258107. These instructions should not be necessary anymore. Please download the latest tar file from the links above and use Odin to flash them in download mode
This is for those who are getting contact boot loops on the Galaxy S4 logo
For those who are having a constant boot loop or stuck on the Galaxy S4 screen we (omariscal1019 and I) found a solution. After upgrading to MJA I started to try to get root working and ended up changing something that I shouldn't since it started to boot loop and get stuck on the Galaxy S4 logo.
I thought all was lost and put OctOS for now, waiting for the MJA tar to get posted, but omariscal1019 helped me out made a custom backup with Philz's Recovery in the TWRP format. I was able to successfully boot after restoring boot and system and then wiping data/cache (factory data reset). Make sure to flash with Odin after getting your system to boot properly.
NOTE: This is for only those who can flash Phil'z recovery with Odin and successfully boot into that recovery to restore these backups. Use at your own risk and listen to what others say. We have confirmed that the system/boot works, but only by following the directions below. The modem and radio files are yet to be determined if they work...
Download the files and place them in TWRP/BACKUPS/110c8480 (not sure on the last folder name, that is what was in my TWRP backups folder). Inside that one (110c8480) place the 2013-10-31.21.01.21_JSS15J.L720VPUEMJA folder. So in the end you should have the following path: TWRP/BACKUPS/110c8480/2013-10-31.21.01.21_JSS15J.L720VPUEMJA.
One other reason on wanting to restore this system partition is this backup was taken after it was rooted. So after restoring this backup you will have a working root with no Knox messages Let me know if you have issues or questions
I just wanted to say a big thanks to omariscal1019, reverepats, and KelevrA_8. omariscal1019 for getting my the files to fix my phone, reverepats for letting us use some of his hosted space, and KelevrA_8 for finding the fix for the sound issues. Make sure you send your thanks to them.
Detailed Instructions
TWRP Format System/Boot Restore
Use Odin and flash Phil'z Recovery at http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=18376#files
I used philz_touch_5.18.2-jfltespr.tar.md5
Download the files listed above (I'm uploading the zip to a hosting site now)
Boot into Recovery (Power + Volume Up)
Select Backup and Restore
Select Custom Backup and Restore
Select TWRP Backup & Restore
Select Restore from TWRP Format
Uncheck all boxes except for boot (boot should only have the x)
Select Start Custom Restore Job
Select which storage place you put the folder (internal is sdcard and external_sd is sdcard1)
Select 110c8480/2013-10-31.21.01.21_JSS15J.L720VPUEMJA (if you can't find it in Philz recovery try moving the folder with the date to a differnet folder where your typical recovery backups go)
Select boot.emmc.win
After it restores boot it will take you back to the list of partitions. Deselect boot and select system, and this time select system.ext4.win000
Then after that go to the main menu by hitting back a few times and select Wipe Data/Factory Reset and then reboot the device
Fix Sound Issue after going to MJA
Use Odin and flash the MJA Kernel which is in the sound issue fix above
Reboot and profit
Thank you so much!!!

So after restoring this backup you will have a working root with no Knox messages Let me know if you have issues or questions and tomorrow morning I will post a new download link from mega.co.nz in case my dropbox link starts failing due to high downloads

Here are the files omariscal1019 shared with me and we would like to share with the others in the same situation. I'll try to get more details in a bit up

Here is a backup of the radio/modem files. I used Phil'z but I didn't do a TWRP backup this time I did a normal custom backup. I also did another one in the twrp format and I am uploading it now as well:
http://www.fileswap.com/dl/1WxPRFZFiP/2013-11-01.12.51.47_JSS15J.L720VPUEMJA.zip.html
Here is the TWRP version: http://www.fileswap.com/dl/Gchsi8LKq6/2013-11-01.MJA.modem-radio-TWRP.zip.html and a better file name for the other: http://www.fileswap.com/dl/bTakvZPpJ/2013-11-01.MJA.modem-radio-CWM.zip.html
This didn't fix me up. I tried anyway just to make sure but I can't get into recovery so that isn't an option for me.
I've updated the links on the first post, and added modem and radio zips
So if i'm understanding correctly this is a work-around for rooting without flipping Knox off?
So before i update to MJA here is what i think i have to do, pls correct me if i'm wrong.
(Im rooted on stock rom/bootloader MF9)
-Unroot and go back to stock
-Flash MJA
-Follow the instructions on this page to get back root
-Enjoy (Hopefully?)
It seems that i would never have to data wipe either so i can preserve most of my setting too!

[Q] need urgent help! bricked it

hey eveyone!
my device is galaxy s advance gt-i9070 on which i was using cutom rom aicp 3.5 nightly (4.4.2 kitkat) with minor bugs and cwm recovery 6.0.4.7
i decided to switch to paranoid android 3.69 for smoother perfomance but sadly i bricked my device. although i had backed up my rom using cwm recovery on sd card. but the most sad part is that even recovery is not working. it just reboots again and again. someone told me to flash stock firmware via odin as the download mode is working. but i am worried that my data will be lost. can anyone tell me my data will be lost or not????
and if it ll lost than any way to save it or recover it/ ? i had extremely precious data in it. but being careless i didnt backed my personal data in my laptop.. please help me guys.. ready to pay any cost for my data

Flashing stock firmware with Odin will not delete your data from SD card. You will probably need to do factory reset, it will delete your contacts, sms, apps... But stuff from internal and external sd will remain there.
You bricked it because 4.4.2 uses preload partition for a swap, and it is partitioned in different way. And on PA 3.69 is probably different.
Or ROM zip of PA was corrupted.
thankyou and one more question

I did not use that version that you used. I think that you will not have a problem when you install it over stock, I explained you why you had problem when you did it over CM11.

You can't brick phone with clearing cache. Did you wipe system partition? Try to install same ROM that you had (if you had).
Give us a screenshot of Odin fail. What exactly happen. And what is the full name of md5 that you put in pda of Odin. Try different version of Odin too.

Go back to recovery, and if you have ROMs zip install it again.
Ofcourse you shouldn't wipe system partition, system files are there...
And if you can't install ROM again, what error do you get in Odin?

I didn't think twice before wiping it. My bad.
Anyways, That's the issue. I can't go to recovery. Phone only shows the odin mode (if i press VOL. DOWN+HOME+POWER).
Odin simply says FAILS.

Well then you did not just wipe system, you installed some GB based ROM over?
You have log window in Odin, where it fails? Try to redownlaod firmware again, and then install again.
What version of Odin do you use? Try 3.x.

ROM is fine. And you was on GB or JB before? If you was on GB then this problem you got is normal. You must be on JB (flash JB firmware) if you install JB ROM.
And again, if you get FAIL on Odin DO A SCREENSHOT AND POST IT HERE. To see what cause that fail. Left part of this screenshot is a log http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gkWcapOu2...gingerbread+s5570jpq8+samsung+galaxy+Mini.jpg
Blue, where it says Message.
This is for other phone, do not pay attention on that, I just told you what I need to see.

And no, you must install Firmware not, not ROM. Because you probably installed JB ROM over GB. That is why you do not have working recovery.
Finally unbricked !!!
