I can't edit Thumb keyboard source, it's not open ;]
Although I've purchased it and posted a question on their forums in november, they replied, that "custom smileys" are in the works. So, you'll need to wait a bit, I guess.

well thats cool.. ive talked to the thumb keyboard dev. n hes a nice guy.. anyways, thanks for trying

Sure np.
I bought 3 different keyboards (Swiftkey, Thumbkeyboard and Smart keyboard Pro), but since ICS is out, stock just feels better. :]

thank you! i've been wanting to do this mod, but i'm too lazy to decompile and mod the keyboard.

Thanks, I was looking for something like this.
Now, I grabbed your sources to do some other modifications I want but I have trouble importing them into Eclipse. I created a new android project with existing sources and selected the ./java folder from your repo. It imported it correctly and the sources are there but I get reference errors everywhere. I have the SDK installed (API ver. 14) and it's selected at Build Path properties. Also I modified and compiled other android applications in the past but they came together with project files for eclipse.
Any help would really be appreciated.

You need the whole ICS source to build the keyboard, LatinIME is dependant on the whole source and needs to be built with make.
You just fork my branch, make changes and compile your own version. Here's a good tutorial how to make a working compile env. in Virtualbox: http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/compile-ics

I was avoiding grabbing the whole source since it's kinda huge but I think I will do it now. Time for some hardcore-compiling for my rig, thanks for the advice.

Does this also change the emotions? When I type "" will it appear as a Smiley face emotion or will I still have to type "" to get the emoticon
Nexus S (GSM i9020a)
CM9 Kang (Build 6 of 2.1)
Eugene's Kernel (Speedy-7)

Getting a bug, spell check is no longer working and its marking ever word red

Smileys are bound to the nose, so no, smileys wont be shown when you type like that (some ppl even prefer that).

You can actually modify it so that the new Smileys would be bound to this. It's in the values I believe. Maybe I'll get around to it after my midterm

Link is working now ^_^ Enjoy!
thanks. is this a flash over 2.0 or full wipe reqd install? Good to see swype be a choice. Recommendation to BD - make themes work like MIUI does - their theme section is exploding with themers since 1 theme will work on all platforms. Same idea should be suggested to cyanogen too and for that matter all AOSP Rom devs.
Umm I wiped everything before install - how the hell did this ROM know my secure wireless network's password? I never backed up anything...

Its likely your wipe was not complete. As a standard practice I wipe everything twice (and between each step and this part is critical - I drink some good scotch - that always helps in the wiped out bit of the process - j/k just do every step twice always when wiping, scotch is optional)
Does this version have the useless black bar at the top of the lockscreen?

This is based on cyanogenmod. if you were using CM and were on your wireless... this rom would already have the info.

Swype should've been pulled from this version. Sorry. It was necessary in order to play by the rules here.
^As for being CM based, it is not. It's built from Blackdroid's AOSP.
Finally, the useless black bar at the top of the screen was where the rom banner should've shown up but for some reason didn't. The banner appears to be working now so it won't be useless...

I have to take issue with this. At least, the source on github does not compile. CM repo allows me to whip up a flashable .zip in no time; I'm not sure if the errors I'm getting on UD can even be resolved.

Quirks
This rom does not come with a SetupWizard. You need to manually add your google account under Settings > Add Accounts, or by just opening up the market and signing in.
Your SD does not mount ot the PC like normal, so you need to use gscript. Ive already included the scripts, you just need to run them.

Hacked together ramdisk. A "ramdisk mish-mash" if you will.
Pulled relevant files from CM. libs, /usr.
ril from ID.
We're lucky in that we're not the the first devs to port it. The Evo build helped us fix:
keys, lights, lcd density... more stuff that I don't know what it QUITE does, but I pulled it anyway.
Grab gapps from CM. I'll get a link up. Link: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version
Scroll downnn. Far right. Clicky.
EDIT: Do a full boot of the ROM. THEN flash Gapps WITHOUT WIPING. After Gapps flash, do NOT wipe anything.
IN OTHER WORDS, DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING AFTER INSTALLING THE ROM (unless you're about to install another).
r2DoesInc is downloading my build now. Once he's all good, I'll post link.
And now, for the main event. What you've all come to see... the LINK!!
Wait, I lost it. Haha, okay, here it is. The LINK!!!!

Thanks guys for taking this on. If you have read the threads you probably already know that this Inc forum is a pretty harsh place. I am not sure why but it seems like there is more name calling, belittling, hating and dev bashing here than any other forum I have been on.
All I can say is keep your heads up, ignore the haters/bashers and know that the majority of us appreciate the work you put into these projects.
THANKS!
This place is rarely like I can think of very few instances where that happened and I read this forum a lot.

[ROM] FrostBlur v1.3 [8/12/11] Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread {Droid X Port}

FrostBlur v1.3Port from Droid X based off of Team Xron's EVO PortI am in no way responsible for anything you do to your own phone. Please read the entire OP.
This ROM is in early stages of development. Not much works. It takes a while for it to boot the first time, just wait, it will though. When it does finally turn on, don't worry if the screen seems extremely glitchy, it is, you aren't just seeing things and it isn't only your phone. Things that are and aren't working are posted below. Feel free to send me a message if you can help out with anything that isn't working, seeing as I'm only a Junior in high-school, it would be great if this could be more of a community project. If you have any issues, just ask a question and I'll try to answer as soon as possible.

Good luck. We don't have a working Sense GB kernel. Seems to be the issue everyones having.

That's what's nice about the running on an AOSP kernel. Hopefully a working GB kernel will help boot the GB Blur.
Just did a little editing, gonna flash and see if I fixed or made any progress in the graphics.
EDIT: Forgot to sign it before installing -.- I'll try again tomorrow, I'm getting tired. Peace out! Till tomorrow of course.
Did you have permission from the original devs? I don't think so. I understand Jdkoreclipse is not a member here but there were others that were involved including myself. It is not wise to release something you did not ask permission for and obviously did not know what was put into it.
who would want moto blur on an HTC phone. THATS WHY WE BUY HTC.. SENSE FTW!!! SKYRAIDER 4.0 check it out!
No development being maintained also working with the original developers to verify credit is needed. PM me OP if you have any problems. Closing thread for now, also DO NOT create a new thread.

PD! First official Mod on the NExus 5 from the old fauthful Xperia PLAY. Nice. Is this sort of like the Adreno Mod for the Xperia PLAY? Or different? Either way good to see you here from the old XP stompin ground
Here we go lol. Looks cool, but is there a way to make it an init.d script?

Hello, I'm slightly noobish with some aspects of Android but here is my issue: I did exactly as the installation guide instructed, and I can't get the manager installed. Same app recommended, managed after couple of hours to get the files on my Nexus 5, run as SU, but says options can't be found. it lists them, but follows with saying they are not in the folder or available. And i can't manage to enter the command.
If this is major nooblike text just take it easy here and help me out.
Hey guys! This might be a dumb question, but does this mod have any potential for conflict with the dalvik and bionic mod, listed here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537299?
I ask, because I'm thinking of compiling an AOSP build with both mods baked in, and I want to be aware of potential pitfalls. Thanks for any/all feedback, and thank you for (what appears to be) an excellent mod.

Hi jjhiza,
No issue between both mods (I've tested), it's two different things.
You can test by yourself before if you want, you just need to edit the build.prop and add manually (at least more convenient for me than running the script) the different lines from the script here or from the source link and flash the Dalvik/Bionic patches.
About the real improvement of this mod (I mean this Adreno Catalyst mod), I let you judge by yourself...

The Script is still in Alpha, which means the code is compiled and the base features are existen but i cant get it to execute its main features without hiccups, im going to rebuild it now to see how it goes...

MIUI General FAQ
Q: How do I root this?
A: Enable root in the perm manager, which can be found in the security folder.
Q: Why is G-Apps not listed for Download?
A: Too Bloaty, add a Google account and install the play store as an APK, I suggest using Aptoide to find it.
Q: 4G LTE isn't working
A: Load the Phone, dial *#*#4636#*#*, goto Phone information, Set preferred network type to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL).
Q: Help! Phone/SystemUI/Keyboard Isn't working/Is Force Closing!
A: Make sure to do a completely clean wipe, also I'm not sure how well this will work if flashed in CWM.
Q: The Browser looks terrible.
A: Settings -> Advanced -> User agent string -> MiOne (It Renders much better & more naturally!)
Q: My Filesystems won't mount/My PC can't see my device/My phone won't act as a MTP/USB Mounting isn't working!
A: Settings -> Developer Options -> Enable Development / USB Debugging (switch both to on)
Perfect! We have been waiting for MIUI so long.....

Wow! I cant believe MIUI v5 is here for the Bionic
Great to see miui for bionic... But 4.2.2 seems like a relatively old android base, doesnt it? Is this really 4.2 JB based or 4.4.2 KK?

MIUI v5 is 4.2.2 based. That is kinda strange but it is what it is. I am still hoping someone build ChaOS for Bionic since it is open source and the theme engine is MIUI based and ChaOS is now 4.4.2 based.
EDIT: I guess that 4.4 KITKAT MIUI will be released in February sometime for Nexus 5
Is it safe to flash to stock or only for ROM slot?

I can do a quick Chameleon OS if people really want it, it's much less involved than this is lol.
I'm a member of the MIUI porting team over at en.miui; I am forking MIUI to every Moto device I can build for and yes, weekly updates will come over here too once source building is done
That would be awesome. Thanx.

Ok guys, I've finished all the FW stuff for MIUI and just must complete a kernel.
I notice Kernel is handled a bit differently on this phone, how does your phone handle them? I need to add Shelld and LBESEC to init.rc and make edits in default.prop
Once the kernel for this phone is finished it's done, but I noticed you folks don't have the usual boot.img... are you using stock kernel over here?
Zomg....... I love you.....

i do have to wonder what the battery life is going to be like with this miui port because lets be real here...MIUI has never been the most battery friendly roms lol

This phone's bootloader is locked so that we can not edit boot partition .We use kexec to hot-reload a third part kernel. So you can find its kernel and ramdisk file in
/system/etc/kexec/kernel (zImage);
/system/etc/kexec/ramdisk.img (gzipped cpio ramdisk)

Happy to hear that ! Actually, these Motorola OMAP devices are all using kexec to bypass locked boot and recovery partition(We use a apk called SafeStrap by hashcode).
Then another way to bypass locked bootloader on some LG and Samsung devices is :loki
Their boot.img is patched with this tool:
https://github.com/djrbliss/loki
Hope this will be helpful on your porting works.....
EDIT: Would you please share me with your CM base ROM for droid bionic after your porting for MOTO devices is done via private message ?
