duos's battery for ace
hi members......my first ever post on xda .... i thnk its the best site to get ur queries answered.....going back on to the topic.... i am thinking about buying a new fone.....and have shortlisted ace as my final choice........but the only thing that upsets me ( heard from the ace owners) is its battery life in comparison to other android fones which lie in and around the same price bracket. if somebody has tested the new Ace duos 1650 mah battery on the SGA ......then please do reply...i thnk it would be a boost to this already awesome fone
thanx in advance
awaiting your reply

it would be great to see some tests
and info about 1650 battery life on ACE

What is the difference between our ace and this Duos?
Comparing I only see our cam with 5mpx and duos with 3.1...

Duos has videochat camera and bigger RAM memory

ace duos has different battery
duos has the i9000's one

i think u are wrong on that...ace duos has 1650mah battery whereas i9000 has 1500mah battery......moreover both of them are totally different in terms of physical form factor.

I second that statement!
Stock Lite v5 is really good and energy effective!
On the other end, if the duos battery is affordable, maybe I'll get one.

if it's really 1650.
i would like to buy just battery and hopefully it's working on our ace.
so... is it already release? and is it release in my country?

Thanks for the info, now we need someone that can get it and try it xD

What do you think about this: http://www.ebay.it/itm/BATTERIA-SUP..._Cellulari&hash=item4162b18e4d#ht_2184wt_1180

Do let us know if it works with galaxy ace. Cannot wait to get my hands on new batteries!

No.
I've tried it. It has different size. :'(
And yes, you can buy a battery with bigger capacities, but from what I've read, there's won't be much improvement in battery life. Maybe because of the different voltage.
quickly drains the battery can be replaced with the CM7 is a bigger 1500mAh

Galaxy s

I want to buy a new phone, and just want to ask it worth to buy galaxy s or should i go for another phone??

That kind of depends on what you're looking for in a phone. I have a Galaxy S, and I'm very happy with it. However, it's now been replaced by the "Galaxy SII", which is probably considered "nicer" by most people (slightly better screen, faster dual-core CPU, etc, etc). The SII will be more expensive, so that may be a factor for you.
If you want a phone that just works, can play .mp3 files and games, and has good screen and memory as standard, then the Galaxy S will do all that and more.
Thanks for your reply.... i was more interested in is it a good phone to root and does it have many stable costum roms

Yes; very easy to root; has a wide choice of custom roms; is "officially" supported by CM7; and the community is working very hard to port ICS to this phone. Also very hard to "permanently" break from a custom-rom point of view - "download mode" means almost any other problem is fixable.
I got one more question before i buy it..... which one is best galaxy s plus or galaxy s
There are a lot more ROMs out there for the SGS compared to the SGS+, although some/most (not sure about this...) will work on both phones..
I don't have any experience with the SGS+, but if you're looking for ease of rooting and ROM choice, I'd go for the standard SGS

Thats true. So i would also say I9000.
galaxy s
I have an option to buy my friends galaxy s which is used for a year in good condition. The i9000 is discontinued in india for some reason, and worse phones like the galaxy s plus and lcd are introduced. I just wanna know if its worth buying the galaxy s now or should i wait for the galaxy s advance so i'm more upto date on the technology? Personally i feel the i9000 was a phone ahead of its time when it was released it still can beat any 2011 single core 1ghz phone and the sgx540 is used in the galaxy nexus too so it must be a pretty good gpu. I just need your opinion on this. Thanks
Both S and S+ are great phones.
If you prefer lots of custom roms then you can go on SGS, but if you like faster cpu (can be overclocked at 2 ghz) and stronger battery life like me, then SGS+ is obvious choice at similar price range.
But don't you think if we use the sgs+ battery in the sgs and overclock it to 1.4ghz,the hummingbird would perform better than a scorpion running at 2ghz? I'm talking about overall performance which is including the processor and gpu.
Am not sure about that.
Adreno 205 is very good gpu used also in Xperia Play for example.
Together with 2ghz processor is still better solution for me.
I found this comparision test between two gpus:
http://www.grandmax.net/2010/10/adreno-205-vs-powervr-sgx540-mobile-gpu.html
Thats an old comparison between android 2.1 and 2.2 obviously there will be a big difference, according to the latest benchmarks the gpu's rank as mali400-adreno220-sgx540-geforce-adreno205.
Can you provide a link with those latest benchmarks, i like to read it.
Thanks.

After reading this thread my conclusion and answer to your original question remained the same.
These two phones are very similar to the overall strength and the only difference is in relation to the CPU/GPU.
However i9000 is discontinued and is more logical for me, to purchase a new model as his closest successor.
My feeling is the galaxy s if you are after adding custom roms to your phone. The community is massive. Personally I don't think the other phone will compare. Remember the S2 has actually replaced the galaxy s. I say this as the S was samsungs frontline phone at the time. All others are rehashed s phones aimed at a different market segment. If you are going to get a new phone i would go for the s2 or possible wait for s3. If you need it now i would get s

Yea i think i'll go for the S itself, S2 is way too expensive, the price hasn't fallen since its launch a year back nd besides i'm gettin the s for 1/3 the price of the s2 . But any idea how much will the s advance cost? If its somewhere close to she s2 itself then there's no use of waiting for it.

Bcoz of such lack of education many people hard bricked their S+ , no roms from s work on s+ , it's a totally different hardware, bootloader partitions etc..
As for those who commented the gpu, according to all benchmarks there is no big difference between adreno 205 (with updated drivers) and sgx.

[Q] My Samsung Galaxy Ace gets Hot, Battery Drains rapidly

Hi
My Samsung Galaxy Ace gets hot, Battery Drains rapidly :
Firstly, I was using normally (no problem)
But now my battery gets hot and draing faster ( you will tell me that this caused by using an app, but I already flashed my phone with rom cyanogenmod and nothing changed )
When I charge my phone the battery percentage does not update at all
The only thing I did is that I replaced my phone battery with another battery (samsung galaxy teos) because at that time I was really need to send a sms ( Note that I used a battery which is 5,55WH / 1500mAH )
Will someone please help me?

S3 LTE (This) or S4 Mini?

I would say the I9305, mainly because of the screen and the RAM, i think the S4 mini is too small but that depends on what you like, for specs you can look here:

Specs is what I'm concerned about. Other people say even though the S4 Mini is a Dual-core device, it still outperform the S3 LTE in benchmarks in Antutu.
Also, the screen res is a plus too. qHD vs HD resolution.

Hm that´s weird. Well if you look at the link you see there are very few (good) points for the S4 mini, so when talking specs you should probably choose the S34G. My sister has the S4 mini and it´s a lot slower, and the screen is (in my opinion) not better when using it.
Mini is sheet. Why? Mini is mini. S3 will be always S3. Buy S III but i9300 for better ROMs and developers

S III International has for example S5 ROMs(Lite and full), S4/N3 ROMs, official support from Cyanogen Mod(I had HTC One S C2 before and I know how it is when you have less popular variant of phone). Might S III LTE has LTE and 2x more RAM but I've chosen International edition and I'm happy with that

I own a HTC One S C2 too! Well, it got hard bricked for some reason (didn't detect my device as QDL).
Anyways, if everything's fine, i might go for the SIII LTE

I liked Sense 6 Prism on it
S3 LTE all the way. Just the bigger screen is enough reason to pick it.
LTE all the way here too, especially as there are so many excellent roms and tweaks already.
