[Q] HELP!! - Motorola Droid 4

So i fallowed the instructions to install the Arctic Rom via the xda link. I downloaded the the rom to my pc then transferred it to my external sd card, did the steps the page told me to.(wipe/reset factory, wipe cache) Then I looked for the arctic rom i transferred to my external. Couldnt find it anywhere so i restored the backup i just did and now my phone will only boot into my bootloader saying that my device is locked. Does this mean that i bricked my phone? If not what can i do?

I love how no one ever replies to any of my posts on xda anymore. It doesnt matter which forum or what about i just have tons of ppl viewing my posts but no replies.

im not 100% sure but if any info i learned with a thunderbolt and a xoom i think your screwed since the bootloader is not unlocked
From what i have learned if the bootloader is not unlocked it wont allow unsigned code to run ( which is that rom)

I think i bricked it. So until an sbf, oneclick restore or unbrick is developed the phone is of no use to me. Sucks cause i just bought it on the 17th and had just rooted it. For now im using the good ole D1.

Nexus one stuck at X symbol (stock GB and no root)

I couldn't find anything similar to this issue so thought of having some Help!
I have my friend's Nexus one which is stuck on the X symbol (one that initially appears during booting). I've read about this issue with people trying to flash new rom's, but this particular phone is on stock GB and not rooted. The bootloader appears to be locked since my friend never knew that such a thing existed.
I can boot into recovery and fastboot and further any action brings it back to the colored X logo. Connecting the device via USB is not helpful and I can't even access the internal memory of the device.
Any suggestion in restoring the phone will be helpful.
Thanks
Abhi

Have you tried to remove the SD card and reboot without the SD card to see if the phone can boot? If the phone can boot then the SD card is damaged. Or try to wipe data/factory reset in recovery and then reboot. Before doing full wipe, try the remove SD card method and see if it works.

The SD card appears good since I can read data on a computer. And yes, I've done the factory rest without the SD card before trying to reboot it. Promptly, the phone gets back to the X logo.

Someone had the same issue as yours, review those posts http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1422897.html to see they help solve your problem.
Read the Wiki, section "unroot/restore".
Or unlock the bootloader, flash custom recovery, and flash any ROM you want (including stock, if you want).

I've tried the options available on the Wiki section. Here are the problems:
1) I tried to unlock the bootloader using command prompt (with ADK and all the necessary drivers installed) but it just displays "searching for device" and does nothing more than that.
2) I'm not sure if I can flash the FRG83 ROM, they have mentioned that downgrading an SCLD device will brick it.
(Sorry if I'm understanding things wrongly, I'm trying to restore an android for the first time and after reading the loads of posts across the web I'm looking for some help here)

1. You didn't install the necessary drivers, and your phone isn't found by fastboot. Your mistake. Correct it.
2. Wiki contains EXACTLY what's needed. "They" was me, and I wrote these specific words: "Legacy information". Which means - irrelevant to the rest. The warning in red doesn't have anything to do with the guide above, and the guide covers ALL N1s, SLCD and AMOLED.
This phone exists for over 2 years now. Do you think that everything you can come up with hasn't been covered?
did you read my reply to ur question in other thread???

Flashed the FRG83 ROM and the phone is perfectly working. The Wiki article was very helpful and I agree to not have looked into it properly.

Root My Vivid

Hello. I am new to this forum. I did do searching before I came here. I am sort of a noob so sorry for dumb questions. I wanted an MIUI theme on my phone. I tried MiHome but it doesn't change the UI so I want to get the MIUI ROM on my phone but I wasn't sure how. I know you have to root your phone first, but I read somewhere that MIUI isn't compatible with different rooting procedures like CyanogenMod. If thats true, which one is it compatible with? Is it possible for me to get MIUI on my phone? I have an HTC Vivid (of course) with Android ICS 4.0.3. Can anyone provide me with a guide on how to do get MIUI on my phone, preferably a video with a step-by-step description (yes, thats how noobish I am). Also, what are the odds of me rooting my phone if I follow the steps exactly as told? Sorry for a ton of questions. To sum things up, I would like to get MIUI ROM on my phone but have no idea how. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Alright....you need to do ALOT of reading...I only say that so you don't brick your phone...but here's some info as well as how to get miui
It doesn't matter how you root your phone, you can still flash any Rom...you don't even need to be rooted to flash roms
Cyanogenmod is not a rooting method, it is an aosp rom...you cam flash from cyanogen but our device doeant even have a cyanogenmod Rom (well there is one but it was discontinued...for now)
In order to get miui you will need to do the following:
1) unlock bootloader
2) get recovery
3) download miui onto your phone (can't be any miui...has to be one made for our phone...you can find it on rootzwiki.com)
4) flash miui
More detail:
In order to unlock bootloader and get a recovery I suggest using Hansen vivid toolkit that is stickier in the dev section...its the easiest most newb friendly way to unlock bootloader and get a recovery...for the most part all you do is plug in your phone and click a few buttons...here's the toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1498003

I guess I'm forced to use my slow PC. Hopefully it won't shut down in the process or else I'll be screwed. :/ Thanks again! I'll let you know if it works out if you want.
Just some ideas , if your pc is slow you can download and of the files you need on your phone then transfer them over to the pc , also if you download the tool kit you shouldn't need anything else but the Rom , if you get s off you will need to do a couple of things , but as mg said do some reading on this subject to kinda get an idea as to what your working with , make sure you kinda understand it so you don't brick your ph. Better safe than sorry .
Good luck and if you have questions there is a lot of good people here and would be glad to help.

Help! I managed to root my phone, which is good. I am currently using WCX. I am not sure how to flash the rom. I tried going to my internal sd card and installing the miui zip file from there. After it reboots my phone, an htc logo loads, then it takes me to some chinese. It has like big chinese words on top in red, then in the middle it has white words, and in between the white words, it loads from 0 to 100 but I have no idea what to do now. It just leaves me stuck on this page! Can anyone help me? Do I need to uninstall the rom then follow a correct process of installation or can I just do the correct process? Also, please don't redirect me to some page, because I did a lot of googling and I found one which would help me, but the site is down. I am sure it isn't a long process. This is what I did:
1. Manually put the zip file into my internal sd card.
2. Rebooted my phone to recovery.
3. Installed the zip file, which flashed the rom.
Is that correct? Can someone please help me! Thanks!

I tried what you said. I am using the All In One tool kit that someone told me to use so I flashed the kernel (boot.img) through that, assuming it is fastboot. I then rebooted my phone to recovery and selected the zip file, it flashed it. I rebooted my phone and it still takes me to that chinese screen. Is there a different MIUI ROM zip file download? I used this one: androidfilehost.com/main/HTC_Holiday_Developers/rafyvitto/MIUI_ICS_V4/
Maybe a different file would work? Thanks in advance!

With the ROM I used, since I am S-On (which I assume you are too since you did not do the wire jump thing from what I read) after you initially flash the boot.img file using fastboot, you need to flash the rom, which you said you did. Then go back in and reboot to bootloader, and flash the boot.img again. It may have been just specific to the Rom I used, but that is the instructions I followed for mine. I hope you made a nandroid before you flashed Miui in case you ran into these troubles....

Restore htc one to bone stock

Ok so I've looked through some threads on the forums. I found plenty with "restoring htc one" in the title, but my circumstances are weird. I have a t mobile htc one I use in the USA. Recently, I unlocked the bootloader via htcdev, all went well. I used a video tutorial on youtube and followed along to root it. I installed twrp recovery and was about to install supersu, that's when things got weird. When I tried navigating to the supersu.zip file via recovery menu, all I see (up a level). After clicking that, I am taken to files like cache, data, dev, and so on. Nothing related to the files on my internal sd card. I didn't see supersu.zip either. So here I am, with a phone that has an unocked bootloader, twrp recovery and no root access. Ever since I did this, my signal has been randomly dropping and I can't get lte speeds anymore. What happened here?
I was wondering if anyone knew a tutorial that will restore my phone back to stock. I don't mean just stock firmware, I mean absolutely factory bone stock. No recovery, android 4.1.2. htc sense, the whole bit. I know I could just use one of the tutorials available in one of the threads I found, but every single one of them is related to a rooted phone, and mine is sort of in between. I don't want to risk bricking it or anything like that.
If you've made it this far into the read, congratulations you are better than 95% of the people I know. If anyone has a link to a tutorial like this, and it works exactly how I asked it to, I will send them $10 via paypal.

Try plugging your phone into your PC, and in the files you can see, like Music, Movies etc, make a folder called Super and put the zip in there, see if once you go to recovery you can now find it, because to browse root don't you have to have SuperSU anyways?
I am new to this but idk, figured I would atleast try.
I don't think there are some videos about this, however.
If you will fully restore your HTC One, you've to go S-OFF (with revone o rumrunners method) and flash a ruu for T-Mob.
However, you can always root your device.
Probably you have to navigate to "sdcard" in the screen of install of TWRP and after select supersu.zip or whichever
Tried navigating to sdcard, but the folder is just empty. Also, it says internal storage memory: 0mb

Try to use the command:
Code:
adb push name_of_su.zip /sdcard/
and
Code:
adb push name_of_su.zip /data/media
and check if you can see the file or if you got an error.
p.s. You've to use a prompt where you have adb/fastboot and the file will be in this folder...

Update: I fixed it. It turns out it was easier than I thought. All I had to do was fastboot OEM lock the bootloader, and then install the T Mobile RUU file. Who knew it was that simple?

Well I'm taking it you haven't read up too much on the status of the S5 for AT&T and Verizon, but the bootloader is locked and encrypted with no known workaround so you can't flash a custom recovery.
The only option for recovery is Safestrap. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794087

You really need to do a lot more reading I'm not being rude but by what you're posting leads me to believe you've jumped into the AT&T S5 and didn't know what you were getting into. Every device is completely different. If I were you I'd try to do quite a bit more research before going any further before you brick your device I'd start here.

Im not an android user so i dont have any idea of what to do. my brother does not speak english so he cant search for a solution. Is there anything that could be done to "save" the phone?

Restore the phone using RSD. Very simple. Simple search will give you the answer. Just a reminder. You should always have a backup before flashing any ROMs. ESPECIALLY stock, that way if something like what you said happens. You can easily recover. Hence the custom recovery Wiping it clean on accident is also difficult. Not sure how one does that. Hope you're using TWRP.

Ok, i already downloaded RSD but i cant find the stock firmware for the phone. Yes im using TWRP, and you asked how he wiped it up, he was selecting the items to wipe and misclicked on system.
Another Method
Install ClockWorkMod Recovery. (Phil's touch CWM). This has the option to mount storage as USB drive. use this to copy the ROM you want to install in the phone. Then disconnect phone and flash the ROM. :good:
TWRP does not have this option. or atleast i have not been able to find it. I know CWM has it because i screwed up once like this with my old phone, and did this to get back to normal.

Sites with STOCK Moto roms for the X are listed in this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/info-tip-web-sites-official-leaked-roms-t2923347
Or download the correct sbf, extract, flash in bootloader.
