[Q] Nitrality Faster UI - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In Nitrality and Spare parts,
There is an option to make the animations faster. After enabling it, the lag on my Note completely disappears !
What does it really do ? Where can I manually adjust those parameters in the system without using those third party apps ?
Thanks!

Framework Res APK does not hold any adjustable parameters regarding Menu transitions that has a delay. :-(
Still Searching...

All it does is either speed up or remove the animations which are one of the causes of lag..

By Any chance do you know, How it is manually done ?

I do not, sorry. All I know is how to do it through Spare Parts or developer options on ICS.

Nitrality Still works. !
Wondering whether its a lib file!

[Q] Disabling Multitasking and ...

Hey, how is it going.
lets get to the point right away.
Basically I Don't do multitasking more often and I'm more of a performance fan kinda person in other words f*** multitasking speed this Scheiße up a little bit for god sake.
So I have a couple questions for ya all today I'll be really grateful if you help me out and like my other posts everyone here will get a thank.
(I'm on about CM7)
1. how to disable multitasking or at least reduce the max number of active/running apps. (note!!! how to do that without home app being terminated)
2. how to tell the system not to terminate home app under any circumstances or just keep it in memory or cache it or dunno somehow don't touch it.
3. how to change the default values for settings of a ROM *
4. how to change the default values for settings of an app *
* => I'm gonna make a ROM, so basically I would like to change the default values to something else for example cpu freq or gov to my desire or changing the animation speed of the home app to something else in this case I'm on about launcherpro. so once I flash the ROM the settings are already set to what I wanted.
Note!!! I know some of that could be done through Cm dev app. but i'm thinking of some sort of script or build.prop lines or actually add these settings to cm settings which would be great.
Cheers!!!
I think spare parts has an option to set android's task manager to aggressive.
To lock the home app in memory, you can either,
Go to cyanogenmod settings>Performance >Lock home app in memory
Or you can put this line in build.prop: ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1

Cheers bro spare parts doesn't have that option and neither cyanogenmod settings or the home_app_adj=1 would work I was already aware of those but if you reduce the number of running apps to for example one or two once you open up one or two apps the home app will be terminated

All this can be done by editing the ramdisk folder in the kernel. (Except the app values ofc).!!
For no multitasking use dsixda kitchen. It has the option. Option 12 in the first advanced view if i ain't wrong. Other things you have to edit manually..
___________XDA Premium__________
Don't be a noob. Be a newbie..!!
Details here.

Cheers bro. Could you be a bit more specific what things could be done in that folder I mean is all the settings values stored in that folder like sound, brightness or other settings or is it just the CPU freq and gov ? And what about settings of an app?

Flashing an app's data and dalvik cache to the appropiate address will keep its settings.
You can also try modifying the kernel's minfree values to force the closing of inactive apps in favor of more free ram.

Improve Tab S performance

Hi folks,
I read about this in the Tab Pro forum and found that this helps to make Tab S performance snappier with TouchWiz. If you use another launcher, it will be even more snapier. So here are the steps:
1) Enable developer options by tapping Build Number 7 times. You will find Build Number by Settings -> General -> About Device.
2) Once the developer options are enabled, change Window Animation scale, Transition Animation scale, Animator Duration scale from 1x to 0.5x (see attached snapshot)
Regards,
Kalpesh
Tried all that. I would also try disableing system apps and use greenify to hibernate apps until you open them. I also use nova launcher and changed the speeds to fast. I also use a live wallpaper and its all smooth. What font do you use? This is what my tab s looks like. Im am rooted on stock rom.

That doesn't improve the performance, it just hides some of the lags. It is nice that you try to help people (really, it is), but you should have chosen a different headline.
Anyway, I would advise against changing Animator Duration, with it deactivated Hangouts refused to auto scroll to new messages.
Thats like putting a bandaid on a wound. Want to reduce lag? Find the thread that lists all the system apps you can delete.

Marshmallow update for Axon pro released

ZTE has released the marshmallow update for this beast. How's the update coming along for everyone so far?
The new update adds stock android features with little to no skinning.
Known issues/changes
•Some users are reporting stock launcher crashes, the problem can be alleviated by using a different launcher.
•Dolby Sound has gone missing, evidence provided by Arsenic53 suggest ZTE done goofed and accidentally removed it.
•The quick settings panel is now Dark and Transparent (very classy)
•Average RAM usage has gone up considerably due to system apps being badly optimized...or maybe they're just being rebellious?
•Bootloader still locked
•Battery drains quicker.
•Nice new booting screen
•Annoying WIFI calling issue has been resolved.
•Some users have reported lag even during the booting process.
•A user has reported that He/She cannot see the screen on some occasions especially when charging.
•The lockscreen is now closer to the stock version. The dialer shortcut has been replaced with a Google now voice function and the annoying "# more notifications" thing has been removed.
•Bloatware app "rockmyrun" can no longer be disabled.
P.S someone please link zte usa's twitter to this thread so they can go over it. Leave a reply so i can remove this message.
Taking forever to download...

The doze feature doesnt come with a dedicated settings tab. if you want to choose which apps get dozed and which dont, go to apps(settings) click the gear and click battery optimization; from there you can white list certain apps from doze (I recommend greenify if you want doze to activate in just a few minutes as opposed to an hour.)

EdXposed optimize applications with speed mode

Hi
I have been in the dark for sometime and just recently updated from the EdXposed installer app to the latest EdXposed manager. 4.5.4. Have a couple questions.
First, which of the two lightening icons on the framework screen is for optimize all apps with speed mode?
Second, is this good to set and does it speed up the app or EdXposed?

Afaik, yes it'll speed up your apps, costs more storage space though (especially if you have lot apps).

Cool. I have plenty is space. I'd like to test it but on that main screen which is which? There's just two lightening symbols and clicking them doesn't tell you which one does what. I don't want have to do it per app but i can't tell which one is optimize all with speed and which is optimize all with dexopt.

Hey mate, hold up long on those Buttons and IT will Show you up what IT is
Using Manager 4.5.5...don't see any lighting bolts anywhere. Pressing 3 dot gives choice to Opt. all with Dexopt or Dex2oat...then all the reboot options. What's the difference berween Dexopt and Dex2oat? Using Sandhook core fwiw. Arextheir any know apps NOT to optimize? We could REALLY use a guide the covers everything....Opt and Settings both.
+1 for this. Sorry to gravedig a relatively old thread but I've only found some answers on StackExchange detailing what oat & opt are but for us, which would be better? I considered dex2oat because AOT compilation is better than just an optimized odex file (i THINK) but I really don't know. Would love some clarity on this.

Any way to disable overscroll stretch animation?

In android 12 there is new overscroll stretch animation.
There is some option to turn it off without disabling all others animations or bring back old android 11 overscroll effect?
In chrome we can disable it using this flag:
chrome://flags/#elastic-overscroll
First thing I kill on Adroid is animations, enjoy the fast UI...
I'm wondering if there is a flag which can be changed using adb shell settings
is there really no way to disable android 12's overscroll??

"Changing Animator Duration Scale in Developer Options to Animation Off is the solution. You need to refresh whatever app you're on to see the effects. So after making the changes in Dev Options, close the app that you're experiencing the stretchy texts on and reopen it to see the changes made."
Not sure if this works. A fast phone doesn't need any animations, etc. One of the first things I disable in Developer options. Animations where junkware in XP×64, still junkware today...
I tried it before and it works, but i want every animation to stay normal EXCEPT overscroll. Disabling all in-app animations for one eye-straining animation is dumb. It'd be great if there's a way to replace the overscroll animation or disable it alone...

Not that I know of. A chrome edit maybe, try searching for that. Many browsers allow you to alter their default hidden settings.
All animations do is make a fast UI less usable. I want to see real time what's going on, or not. Whenever I see lag that's not internet connection related I go into witch hunting mode.
Is there no way to remove that annoying effect? I don't understand how there is no option other than removing all the animations...
i really hate it
