I tried it on a broken beats Rom - Joelz TwoPointThree 3.5.
It flashed, the boot initially took a little longer but I went to try it and no sound. Should I try a different player instead of stock or a different Rom? I was thinking of switching to ICS momentarily because Newts 3.5 has gone broken on me.
Sent from my HTC Droid Incredible using Tapatalk

Just flashed this on a new flash of the official CM 7.1. I haven't had any trouble with music playing or clipping. Just pure sound. Albeit I did not do a comparison so I cannot say if I hear a difference in quality but I am happy with it and will continue to flash it.

What is really Beats by Dre? Sorry

well if the rom didnt have working sound before its not going to give it to it now. so i guess it needs to be cm7
Can someone else confirm that this works on another GB incredible build???

did you try it?

Can i get a link to the original post? I dont feel like making an account on another site just to get a file.
edit: nm with googles help i found the file, i can confirm it works on miui

Joelz new 3.5 had a broken beats file allowing it to not work. Now I switched to cm7, listened to the music first. Very shotty headphones (ifrogz) as my latest earphones died on me.
The sound was eh.. flashed this beats zip and came back to hear it, the clarity and quality increased so much. Should note there is a tolerable difference when not using headphones as your speaker phone may actually sound like bass. Well at least I can gear it, I will try it on Joelz 3.5 again. Cause there is no notification or anything say it works its difficult to pinpoint if it only works on stock players or various ones.
I am hopefully getting new earphones tonight, JVC Xtreme Explosives is what I'm looking at.

I've been using this mod since I saw it on the portal the other day. (or twitter. I can't remember)
It really does make quite a bit of a difference. For you guys trying it out, use nicer headphones. The difference is marginal on $15 skullcandy buds, but on high end speakers, it's really noticeable. Definitely worth the flash.

Here's the file, no need to register somewhere else....
Just flashed it, does this add a menu entry/some new setting to the interface or no?

Can anyone confirm this working (and making a difference) with Gingerbread-Inc-Deck?

May i send to my ladies phone, sir? I have tested side by side with same phone using same ROMs (CM7 newest nightly) using 115 by Treyarch (yes the Black Ops zombie song) and quite a noticeable difference. Also not sure, but I had tested started with volume at 50% and my phone with the zip was louder by 2 notches (decreased volume to regulate) and her phone at 100% was to mine at 80%. I do not use DSP manager as I get a weird noise from it after any sound from speaker ends. Anyone else experience similar volume performance?

[MOD] Beats Audio for all GB ROMs

Here is a flashable zip that should integrate beats audio to any GB ROMs, I flashed it over my own Morrisoft Gen 0.7, no bootloops yet. I am currently at a pretty noisy location, cant tell much difference.
The scripts in the zip does not do anything other than copying over the system files, so any ROM devs can just copy it over to their ROMs
Edit: New version with Xloud I have not tested this yet, use with caution
See the original post
Please do make sure to ask for permission to the developer of the MOD if you can use this for your ROM.

I certainly did read it lol I just thought I'd ask.. I flashed the Photon 4G beats audio which has been tested on CM7 and CM9 and I am notice a significant difference using my full metal jacket Skullcandies.
My ear had an orgasm after I installed this. The sound quality is amazing now! You don't even need the equalizer that comes with the DSPmanager now
This is just a dsp manager. Its just balanced a different way to make bass heavy music sound better.

Beats audio + Dsp manager sucks
Dont do it. Stick with dsp.
well with my headphones (triplefi10) it sounds awfull...
I read somewhere that you need good headphones to hear the differences, but this is more for bad/medium headphones, to compensate the lack of sound, but its better to custom tune the EQ to match your headphones.
If you have good headphones stick with flat or custom EQ.

Volume not so amazing...

I've noticed between my One and my wife's One the audio is not so vibrant on my device... We are both on OMJ's Rom, I'm not sure if my phone was always with a lower audio or if it just happened to my phone later, gradually losing it's amazingness. I would like to know if there is a fix or a MOD for this substandard audio of mine. It's not terrible, but it's not as vibrant as my wife's and definitely not as loud as I would like.

Not sure of any mod currently but I did notice that once I flashed to viperROM ( or possibly before I just didn't notice) that my bottom speaker was louder than my top speaker but with the new update 1.29.651.10 base being added to his updated ROM both speakers are noticeably louder and are even as I believe sprint added a fix for it.

It isn't ROM or kernel dependent. It's a universal mod.
Just a shot in the dark.
Try turning Volume all the way down, then back up.
My Bluetooth Headset had Low Volume and this fixed it. I doubt this will fix it, but worth a shot.
There are so many layers of software on these devices that it can get messed up if it's passing delta volumes around vs absolute.

This mod is for Headphones only. I still recommend flashing it. However, please note that in the original 1.29 update, HTC lowered the volume as people were complaining. I mentioned this to viper, and with some files I supplied from the 1.28 RUU, he found the files, and made a flashable zip to increase the base sound. It isn't anything that will blow your ears off, but it certainly is noticeable. Just a sec as I seift through the thread for the link.
@OP
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241016&page=117 first post. viper figured it out almost immediately lol. Flash the PUREx soundmod thing first, as it contains the updated version of the 2 files found in vipers' zip. Afterward, flash vipers zip to install the 1.28 volume files.
EDIT UPDATE:
Actually, as of version 4.0 the pure sound mod thing includes the fix.
Even further update!: People are saying that 4.0 makes the quality better whilst decreasing the sound a bit, so to be safe, I would flash 4.0 then vipers zip.
I had a flaky audio issue last week. After a reboot, all was good again. In my case, I think Youmail was causing an issue for some reason. It was playing all audio as if I was on a call using the earpiece.

"- Where possible, arrange for the conversion of the songs (in background) below 256 kbps to 320kbps" lol thats the ugliest thing i've seen till now^^
If you really want to enhance audio quallity, buy good Headphones (no Beats or comparable) and use 10 Band EQ to tune the sound to what you like most.
Everything that's using Beats Audio is just messing up Audio Quality, its going to be far away from how it should sound, there are many reports in how beats audio works and how ugly it is, especially when using better Hifi-Headphones.
i flashed this and now sound quality is very good but volume is low ex. max vol on phone same as computer at 2/5 vol. normal? i think it were bit louder earlier. you feel same? Poweramp gain and direct sound made it better though.

Make speakers louder

I've looked all over for a solution to make the speakers louder on 4.2.2 but no luck . When I got the phone it seamed loud but now I can't hear people when making calls in the car. I've tried beats off all different volumes and all the crap apps but still it's no louder than my note. I've read that HTC have lowered the volumes on 4.2.2 is there any way to get the volume back and make the speakers louder. Please don't respond by saying your phone is loud enough as mine isn't!!
Thanks
There is a zip to make it really loud again.

Both are correct. HTC has lowered the volume repeatedly in their upgraded firmwares. The man who said his is still loud is most likely still running old >1.26 FW.
Now, as of a way to raise these volumes im not quite sure how to do this through file editing (Maybe the zip in post #2 or #3 works, idk, if your in dire need, nandroid and flash it) BUT if youre up to flashing a kernel (assuming youre running 4.2.2 and are on sense) you can flash Tbaldens Performance Kernel (in Orig. Android Dev. section) and that will give you options to boost volumes on multiple fronts. I can confirm this works myself, as i use this feature actively and dont experience any crackling or popping. If you decide to download this kernel, youll need Trickstermod Kernel Control app from the Play Store to edit the values.
(Lol, seems like alot but i promise its not. Plus you get extra sweet features like USB Fastcharge, and Overclocking and all that jazz with the kernel. Its worth it)

[TESTING] [MOD] [N5] Nexus Louder Audio Enhancement - Testers Wanted!

I'm not one for flashy OPs so down to business.
@Misledz, well known for his Nexus Louder projects on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2012 and 2013, has been meaning to expand to the Nexus 5 now for a little while.
He's recovering from an illness currently but ever-dedicated he wanted me to post the Beta build he made for hammerhead and gather feedback for him.
So without further ado:
http://d-h.st/users/Misledz/NexusLouder/hammerhead/
Please post your thoughts on the audio. Note that Awesome Beats still hasn't been updated to work entirely with KitKat, so please focus on what the mod itself does, not the bundled apps.
Once he's back in action he'll be using this feedback and we'll turn this into an official thread. Thanks everyone!
Hey Osmo, how come the upload date is still showing as 12/23/13? I thought this was an updated one he sent you before he got ill?
He just told me he made it before he became ill and it wasn't posted on xda yet so he wanted feedback from xda at large. I guess if you've been following along closely you might have it already? Was it on his G+ or something?
Yeah, he posted it up on G+ a while ago. Only reason I knew is I'm still subscribed to his Gnex thread. If it's still the same as what he originally posted up, as in the very first test build, then it works great from what I've seen and heard. I really don't have any complaints about it other than I wish there was Pandora compatibility. It works with Iheartradio but not Pandora.
Ah yes, okay so he is looking for feedback from a wider audience on xda now after the more limited trial with G+.
Yes, it seems to be the same as the one he posted on G+. Thanks again, Os!
Edit: md5 is the same.

these mods were absolutely necessary on the gnex. nice to see for the n5!
I tried out this and compared it to the one posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532788
I find the volume louder and to sound better on my headphone, through speaker and speakerphone using the mod I posted above then this one. Maybe I'm not using this Mod correctly as I didn't own the Gnex and am just trying this out for the first time. That being said, the thread in the Gnex thread is crazy long so I'm thinking there is some user error going on here
Which audio player is recommended with this Mod?

The one you linked is just a speaker boost and is louder than this mod but this is a much cleaner way of doing it and this adds beats and xloud so the audio quality is a lot better

Right, that's what I expected to. However, I tested both Mods with an extensive range of music with my Sennheiser's and found the other Mod to sound better through it. As the OP stated, this is just a beta so I'm sure it will get better with time. Or perhaps it's just user error and I'm not fully utilizing this Mod to it's max. Most likely the latter

And that is the exact feedback they want to hear to improve it. You can be a great tester since you have quality earphones
