Adrenaline Boost may terminate your app like alarm ! One have reported to me that Adrenaline Boost terminated his alarm and almost make him lose his job because of woke up late
Proceed with your own risk !
For those who have already use my Adrenaline™ CPU Control, this is already included in the flashable zip package , so no need flash this again !
Description
This script act like an nitrous boost for your Ace.
It helps you to clear your system cache, get more free ram for you and gravely boosts your phone's performance !
*Best use before gaming/benchmark !
How it works?
Your phone's ram usage will get higher and higher everyday then you will find your ace become an @SS because it's turtle speed and only reboot fix this problem.
Our android os create system cache everyday, but after one day or so, those old caches are not longer in use but the os continuously create newer cache that's why the ram get heavier and heavier everyday !
Adrenaline Boost help you to clear those caches ! So you won't have to reboot again !
For those who have sharp eyes may find your battery life decreased. WHY?
Adrenaline Boost clear your system cache and your cpu will work harder to build back needed cache.
Some have reported to me that the Opera browser crash after boost when open over 3 tabs.
You system need caches to work , this boost is intended to clear old cache that are no longer using and let the system to build new cache, so if u boost it too often , your cpu will be very busy building needed caches and may consume more battery than normal !
Boost it only when it's needed then there will be no problem !
What you need:
A Fully Working Android Device
A Pair of Sharp Eyes
A Brain That Is Able To Think
Properly Rooted Device
Busybox
Terminal Emulator
How To Install ?
1) Download from the attachment below
2) Put into your sdcard
3) Reboot into CWM

so at that time , i decided to make a new one with

Yes of course, you've just flushed your cache! This script will harm performance in most cases except in extreme situations where you will only use one app loaded freshly into memory.
Memory "optimisation" was all the rage on Windows back in the day, and it was a hoax (fully debunked by Mark Russinovitch in his excellent article "The memory optimization hoax"[1]), because 9 times out of 10 the kernel was a better estimator of reused binary data and memory page handling than the clueless user. Now we have the same "optimiser" for android, and I'm pretty sure 9/10 the same logic applies.
Recently these "optimisers" have started hitting the Mac app store, and they have been thoroughly discredited except in very rare use cases, yet naive users write they see more FREE memory (no they don't, they just see the result of readjustment of memory pages that the OS calls free but are no more FREE than they were before...).
Even the article he links to, many comments say this tuneable is for benchmarking, and doesn't help in optimisation in 99% of the cases.
No one has yet proved that flushing clean memory cache magically works better on android than it does on linux/os x/windows. I asked imbawind back in the old thread and his answer showed he "thinks" it works, but has no evidence it does.
Anyway, apart from getting lagginess as the android kernel repopulates useful cache data, nothing gets harmed so if you like the boosting placebo™®©℗ then enjoy...

thanks for the loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnng comment you have typed but all sources you have saw, make you feeeel like a pro are for pc/laptop, arent they?
yes, you may say 'Android is based on Linux, so if linux blah blah blah , Android are similar blah blah blah'
you asked me, now i ask you: how many ram do we have and how many ram do a pc/laptop have?
are u gonna to tell me that your phone are smoooooth when you have only 60/50/40/30/20/10/5/1 (mb) available left?
but how about pc/laptop? are u gonna to tell me they lag when they used 278mb of ram too ?
cache is meant for smoothness in higher spec machines because they may have 2/4gb of ram
like what i have said in first post:
Boost it only when it's needed

only boost when u feel lag then there wont be a problem !
always remember smartphone isn't exactly same with pc, especially low end smartphone
this tuneable is for benchmarking

this is bull**** for SGA, benchmark get even lower score after boost ,why ? benchmark a test for overall system performance, including CPU. we have cleared the ram so the cpu will work hard to create them back, in the other hand, cpu still need to handle the benchmark, thus you won't get higher score in benchmark cuz we only have 800mhz, single core

it's normal
sometimes u will feel lag when using some apps because it's caches are still in use
after boost, u cleared all in use and not in use cache, cpu need to create it back therefore u will notice some feel lag but it will be much better after a few minutes, then u will notice the overall performance increase

Hi imbawind, my comment certainly wasn't personal, thank you for taking the trouble to contribute to these forums.
I am not a kernel engineer specialised in low-memory systems, and I think neither are you. I do know that a lot of work goes into building the virtual memory system and read/write caches in OSes and people much more knowledgeable and talented than us tune, patch and rewrite the kernel to maximise its use. Google doesn't employ monkeys to slap any old kernel into an OS it has invested a lot of resources into, engineers work on this stuff day and night.
Obviously a smartphone has less memory, but that doesn't mean the relative scale of resource demand to supply is not similar to desktop (smartphone apps don't request huge chunks of memory like desktop apps, so perhaps the % demand isn't so different). But my major conceptual issue is in flushing data from caches applies to smartphones and desktops equally. If the kernel uses that data again (and it has lots of optimisations to manage disk / memory caches), you get a performance hit if you flush.
Regarding what users say -- sorry that certainly doesn't mean it actually "works". A couple of years back I was engaged in a dialog with the developer of a memory optimiser for OS X and he told me lots of users said it worked great, yet when he tried to show me measured evidence, he never could show anything other than negative performance. Lots of people are led by what they are told, it is human psychology and works for advertising since the beginning of time; SuperDuper Product X™ will make your computer better -- then it tells you you have "freed" memory and they don't understand it never freed memory, it just renamed inactive memory pages to free ones so the OS reports more free memory. That is why on the desktop it is called a hoax. It would take a clever computer scientist many iterations of benchmarks to tell us whether /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches really helps or harms smartphone performance and neither you or I or anyone else have that data.
But anyway, as I said above, apart from losing cached data the kernel may have to reread back and slow you down a bit, if people enjoy typing the command and feeling they've done something with this script, then that is great. Remember that placebo medicine is very good medicine, it has a measurable positive effect, and is cheap and invariably harmless ;-)

Yes, I have because this was built-in to Engengis which I used since I first got my Ace, and actually made this command alias in my bashrc file some time ago when I first started playing with terminal:
Code:
alias flush='sync;sleep 1;echo "3" > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches;echo "1" > proc/sys/vm/drop_caches;sleep 1;echo "==> Cache Flushed <==";'

Woeks great for me.

This began as an AOSP build, that kept an AOSP-ish feel,
but took on a life all its own. I give you:

New build is just over 119MB in size. I removed a lot of items to conserve space and
streamline this build, and so far the performance as a driver is off the chain. If something
is not included, its by design. You can add things back in as you wish of course, but if its
not in the build, its not in the build.
Whats Included

-AOSP like custom theme, including some apps. More to come in the future.
-Rooted, with Superuser and BusyBox 1.19.0
-AOSP versions of Calendar, Calculator, Email, and MMS
-Desk Clock
-Modified Camera from Eugene373: http://eb-productions.proboards.com/index.cgi
-Launcher2
-Gingerbread Keyboard
-Miui Music (themed)
-Rom Manager
-Titanium Backup
-Spare Parts
-Gtalk
-GalaxyS Boot Screens
-Zipalign on boot
-build.prop modifications to set the default sounds for ringtone, notification, mms, email,
calendar sound, and alarm alerts.
-No Bloat, No Touchwiz
-Removed WiFi calling with additional edits to the build.prop and removing the proper
lib files, in order to install WiFi calling, must flash the file below that will restore the
build.prop and libs.
-Removed additional lib files for Swype, MobiTv, and the Samsung Keyboard to
further streamline the build, if you wish to install those, the libs are all contained in the
build.prop and lib restore flashable linked at the bottom of the OP.
This rom is still screamin'.

Definetly continued. Brick'd did a great job with this rom. Sorry thing kind of spiraled out of control. It was never my intent to be a participant in the madness of the other thread. Its no longer a matter of whose right or wrong so I want to take this opportunity to say "im sorry for the part I played in this. I never thought it was worthy of so much attention from the start. Brick'd if you look in the other thread before things got off track you'll note that it was only posittive vibes given by me concerning your work. Once again it takes. A real man to apologize so my apologies to you brick'd for any misunderstanding we may have had. Keep up the good work! Peace

[ROM] CM7.1-final, Deodexed, 2.6.35 kernel

How's this different from CM7?
2.6.35 kernel (boots by default to 768/256-interactive; max=806, min=120)
smartass & smartass2 governors
compache/swap
deodexed & zip-aligned
tweaks for deodexed rom and sd read-ahead (3072 by default)
removed rom manager & some default themes/wallpapers
moved file manager to /data/app
modified lock screen icons
flying-in menu animations
TGF's notification bar (notbar) patch integrated
What doesn't work/untested?
wifi tethering - activating them produces an error & breaks wife, in which case, a reboot is required
gps
Is this faster than CM?
can't claim that as i don't see a big jump in quad/linpack scores, though there are improvements & it does feel snappier (I may be biased though). you decide...

Yeah digitizer is defective...it seems like it happens this after a while (1 year or so). I saw alot of people complaining about this also movies on YouTube showing the issue. I'l send it in service next week I hope
The drowningkernel-8-9-1_mod.zip works fine with CM7.1.0 for me. THX a lot!
I like your lockscreen-icons and the statusbar-patch, but not the flying-in-animation, so I flashed the non-modified one.
What governors do you prefer? I'm using interactive, but never had a smartass/smartass2 kernel on my phone. Does one of these two give me advantages over interactive?
Or can you give me some details about smartass/smartass2 Min-Max-values for the legend?
I have constant cpu usage of 50-75% with this rom :-(

you could learn more about it here. i'm using 806/122-smartass2. if you try to underclock below stock 245, it seems only the smartass governors give a quick response from sleep.

Just a small comment regarding kernel 2.6.35:
In my tests 2.6.35 was not significantly (or at all) faster than .32, neither could I observe improved battery life.
What actually held us back implementing .35 were the crappy WLAN and missing access point drivers. The sources HTC released are significantly broken - even for their original target "Espresso", and this is still a clear violation of the GPL (the sources they used to compile tiwlan_drv for Espresso/Legend are not at all equivalent to what they released).
That being said, if you don't care about WLAN at all you can use 2.6.35. I seriously wouldn't recommend that kernel though and would request you to add a warning to your post to make sure people don't start to complain about random reboots in CyanogenMod.
Thanks man, looks great will test it soon.

What he wants to say is that, if you deodex rom, there is more space used in system since instead of having apk+odex as separate files you put the odex inside the apk thus ocuppying more space. So for a deodexed ROM you have less space remaining.
Of course since most of us are using some sort of data2ext this is no big deal, I just wanted to "translate"

Huh ? This is a known issue caused by crappy Wifi drivers given by htc for Kernel .35 :

BTW Radio has nothing to do with wifi.
Edit : Plus my radio is up to date !
Edit Plus : I tried this rom (K.35) and official 7.1 Rom (K.32) and i found that the both kernels have the same issue, being on K32 or K35 is the same thing for me, i got the same random crashes, which was not the same thing on the old RC1 (which just sometimes crashes when you just power on wifi with sync enabled).
Too bad, Cyanogen 7.1 passed "stable" with this bug.
^ have you tried this, bro?

i am growing tired of this... people just use our sources without even bothering to ask first, use the exact same features, rebrand as their own work and if something problematic is found happily blame/point the finger at us...
try get some more features to Xperia 2011 device kernels...
instead of floating same/similar kernels help out in searching for the battery drain issue... if anyone is at all bothered atleast help in testing...
or if no one is interested then atleast tell me that way i wont spend my time working on ARC... wait may be i should stop all kernel work for ARC...
I have an early observation to report, that seems quite interesting.
I lost 8% in 57 minutes using this kernel and BetterBatteryStats app indicates that the phone isn't sleeping properly and there is an entry in Kernel Wakelocks I have never seen in stock kernel, deleted_wake_locks.
Hope this helps!

Doom, although it's not my place to say anything, I figured I'd go ahead and do it anyway.
I understand your frustration because I know how much work you put in your kernels and you are without a doubt one of the most active developers.
And I have to agree that you are the "leader" around here, in the sense that if you don't introduce new features for our phones, no one else does.
The only thing that I wanted to point out is that, in my view, you shouldn't be disappointed when people use your work, if of course they credit you properly,
which I feel is the case here. Adrianom compiled this kernel for his personal use and thought he'd share, which objectively is not such a bad thing.
It's certainly not something that should make you feel like giving up on the Arc altogether, as this would be very sad.
And maybe also consider the way you started compiling kernels using zdzihu's sources and ramdisk (legendary Power To The People )
and slowly learned and shifted to your own sources...
So maybe that will be the case for the people currently using your sources.
I am sure that at the end of the day, your work is truly appreciated the way it deserves to be.
Just my 2 cents.

Here I think you're wrong, I did not say anything was wrong with your kernel, on the contrary, said even that was based on his and the FXP kernel, and I believe that I don't have to ask permission to use an Open Source code, you ask Sony? Google? Linus? I think not.

I am searching... on my own, or do you think that a developer community should consist of only one person developing and the others sending it logs?
I think you misunderstand my post, I just wanted to provide something that I'm using.
This is the principle of an open source system, people can move the way they want it. And that's what I'm doing.
Just wanted to help someone who wants the same as me.

Yeaps, I always do that after flashing kernels, as some of my apps FC when I switch kernels. It is my advice to everyone:
clear cache and dalvik cache immediately after flashing a new kernel.

I think version 1.1 was the same problem that version 1.0.
I was led to understand that was not happening because of what I think is a bug in BetterBatteryStats. It change the name of the wifi wakelock to deleted_wake_locks when wifi is disable. I'll keep looking, now for the wifi problem.
Thanks.

Just bear in mind that when you wipe batterystats, you might notice battery percentage decreasing faster at first or inconsistently, so test the kernel for at least 2 battery cycles.

Frequently Ask Question :
Q 1: After flashing TouchHD my battery drains much faster. What can I do?
A: Please charge your battery to 100%, boot your device in ClockworkMod Recovery and go to Advanced ---> Wipe Battery Stats. Also see Question 7.
Also please read this ---> [GUIDE] Enlarge your battery life : an attempt to fix the battery drain
And this ---> [How to] Brilliant Battery Life 100% working!
Q 2: My Device UI is Slow
A: Make A Full Wipe if its slow REPORT at thread and Ill Fix the UI
Q 3: Market Cannot DownloadA: Go to Settings apps and clear market data
Q 4: My PHONE is HOT A: Reduce the Frequency or change kernel
Q 5: Is there any alternative for SetCPU? I think it slows downy my phone.A: You can application called No-frills. Remember to check "Allow on boot" option.Q 6: After flashing TouchHD My Device is NOT stable A: Clear dalvik and Wipe data as possible
Q 7: My Device is not logging in WiFiA: Reflash the ROM
Q 8: Do I need to wipe data partition when upgrading from old version of TouchHD? A: I always recommend wiping data partition but it's absolutely necessary only if I mention that in the changelog. But normally you can live without it.
Wipe data partition if you experience any issues.
Q 9: I have some strange issues with my ROM that nobody reported before. What should I do in first place?A: In first place you should check, if the MD5 Checksum is correct. Then flash ROM again and see if the issue is gone. A lot of strange issues can be solved this way.Q 10: I had SetCPU installed on TouchHD, then I flashed new version of TOUCH HD and SetCPU doesn't work any more. How to fix it? A: Please reinstall SetCPU.
Q 11: I can't send/receive MMS or I can't connect with mobile data connection. How can I fix it?A: Please check your MMS settings or mobile data connection APN settings.Q 12: My phone got random freezes or reboots. How can I fix it? A: Every CPU is different. It seems that your CPU doesn't like OC or UV (undervolt). Set your CPU to default 1GHz.
If it doesn't help, then you need to flash default kernel from the second post.
