[Q] Can Dialy Briefing Be Deleted?

hey guys
i was wondering if i can delete dialy briefing from captivate, is it safe? will it affect any functionality of my phone?
thanks in advance
You need to have root access and yes it can be deleted and it won't effect your phone in a negative way, in fact when you get rid of the AT&T bloatware the phone runs smoother and the battery lasts longer.

Which VZW rom are you running?

Ive been running Eclipse for a long time, and I was wondering what you all are running?:good:
Stock. I bought the phone for its nexus like interface with fast updates and I got what I wanted. No need or want to run a different rom here
The one I put together. Stock 4.4.2, with root, Xposed, and all the crap I don't use removed.

This.
Eclipse here. Wish the idle battery drain wasn't so bad but it is on stock anyways. Also, the Google apps for eclipse haven't been updated in forever, hoping that come sometime soon
-Eclipsed Moto X-
Been running krypton for awhile now, very solid and seems slightly faster than stock with active display without all the bloat. Very happy with it.

I'm running Gravity Box, No YouTube Ads, XPrivacy, StopSwitchDelay (though I don't think the Moto X needs it), X Tether (don't use this one much if ever), All apps in Play Store.

The better question. What method of bloatware removal did you use..
Yeah true.. If you do that and whatever method you used worked great ( and left active display working ) I'd be game!

I used a mixture of Titanium and App Master. I find Titanium is not very good at actually removing apps as they have a tendency to reinstall themselves. Whereas App Master on the other hand completely removes them but leaves a neat little backup for you to use in case you want to reinstall it.
The only issue I've had with App Master and it's not necessarily App Master's fault is that if you are using an app like Clean Master is that if you don't pay attention it will delete all of your backups. Which is just recently did on my phone so now whatever apps I deleted/uninstalled via App Master they are now gone. I'm not too worried about it since I just got the Factory Image from Motorola yesterday so I can just reflash the OEM image and start over.

I don't really remove bloat because it doesn't affect my day to day experience. I disable the few apps I'll never use and that's about it.

If I could disable everything I got rid of, I'd do that, but some apps only disappear by removing them from /system.

ATT D950 Safe Apps to Uninstall

Thought it might be helpful for new and old owners alike to see which bloat apps people are deleting/freezing.
My device is still en route to me, but anyone who has gotten rid of ATT bloat, please list which ones you've removed.

DeBloat your tab S (with or without root!!!!)

This tool will allow you to remove the Bloatware from your tab S, it works if your rooted or not. I have used this tool on my Verizon note 4 and my Verizon tab S without problem. THIS IS NOT MY WORK! the developer is "gatesjunior" here on XDA, please thank him if you use it.http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294
What about knix? Is it safe?
No it does not trip knox, since it is only Disabling the app not removing it. You can also use it to disable updates and knox itself.

Oh it is disabling apps? So it isn't debloating since no apps are being removed from the device. we can freeze/disable apps through the app manager...
You cannot disable some apps. Using the app. Manager, such as Samsung apps. And some verizon apps. You cannot disabled Knox using the app. Manager. You can with this tool, that is why we are so lucky to have devs. Like gatesjunior.

Oh that's good to know, thanks for sharing it mate.
Would be awesome to know what each app does and if it's safe to freeze. There are so many apk's that show up on the list.
I know many are safe to freeze, but it might hinder some other process.
Just do what I did, I froze the same ones that I froze on my note 4, then the ones that were in question I just disabled one at a time using my tablet for a while to make sure nothing was screwy. Like I said you can always do a factory reset to set everything back to the defaults in case you Bork it, it's pretty much foolproof. That being said please no one prove me wrong! Lol!

Also you can always Google processes to see what they do

For your question you have this thread

I love this program
I had to unroot my device because some apps did not run. Now, with the use of debloater (and the above link) I can do what I basicly did with Titanium BU.

Will it give me the ability to also REMOVE the apps without root?
Thanks!
Some apps can't be removed without root, but you can freeze them so that they cannot use system resources.

Will disabling apps help with battery life? I don't have much problem with lag but I would like to extend batter life
In theory, it should. what I mean is disabling an app that you never used will do nothing for battery, but if you disable say, a Samsung app such as Knox or a Samsung app updater, keeping it from using system resources you should see improvement . The problem with comparing battery stats is you would have to use your tablet in the same area using the same apps for the same amount of time every day. That's why you see some user's of custom Roms saying battery life sucks while others say that it's great, apple's to apple's and so on .

Ok I just wanted to say that this tool is really worth it if you don't want to root (lost of warranty). It is possible to disable a lot of crap, hence more free RAM. I froze more than 100 so called apps and my RAM is around 1.2GB with 0 active applications. I also froze all the apps related to knox and I do feel the tablet is faster. It did not trip Knox.
Actually I wonder if it might be a way to bypass Knox to root, install a custom recovery and so on... If someone wants to root his tablet anyway (no care about the warranty), it would be great to try to freeze Knox first to see if it works. I'm sure it would help the community a lot !

So far to the best of my knowledge reading about Knox on other devices, you cannot root with blowing the efuse (Knox). It's irreversible once blown.
Hi ! Did anyone try this tool with the new update 5.0.2 ? My tablet runs very smoothly when disabling all that bloatware and I don't want to be stuck on Lollipop with that crap.
OK so I did the test and it doesn't work anymore with lollipop. But the developer is working on an update

Ok, help it dont work for me?
Tab S 8.4, T707A, 4.4.2, AT&T LTE,
Loaded driver, V1.5.45, Win 7, plug it in and I can access the Tab internal and external drives,
When I launch debloater, the Tab will not connect, any ideas?
I tried launching with Tab S plugged in USB, and launch app then plug in Tab
Did you enable USB debugging in developers options (after tapping 7 times on build number in "about device")

Can Note 5 Bloatware be removed without Root (Verizon & ATT)

I am a VZW user by necessity (coverage) and I like the specs of the Note 5 (Processor, RAM, and S-Pen). Knowing that Root access is not possible (at least for now) on VZW and ATT, I am trying to determine what is possible with the Note 5 on these carriers.
Without root access is it possible to get rid of "Bloatware" on the Note 5?
Can Bloatware (or any apps youu don't want) be "disabled" from running if they cannot be removed? Or does this also require Root access?
Thank you in advance.
Yes.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/guide-bloating-touchwizzing-note-5-t3184563
With that app, it is not free but well worth the 2 bucks, I have all the vzw/samsung crap and more disabled on my device and loving the batterylife/speed.
Thanks!

Thanks so much for the reply and the link!
Does this app work with phones that cannot obtain root like Verizon and ATT Note 5's? I would gladly pay for an app that would do this.
Yes

How much of a performance gain to you gain after using the app? Is it noticeable? Do you know if that apps are actually prevented from starting up or are the icons just hidden from the launcher?

Yes, they are disabled completely it seems, no longer on the application list or anything. As for the gain, I'm not sure it's really that measurable the phone is already so fast, mostly I see improved battery life.
Note 5
I don't find the performance noticeably different before and after debloating.
Battery is (a little, not a lot) better, but performance seems the same to me.
My antutu scores went from 67,000 to 69,000 after debloating. Not earth shattering. I'm very sensitive to lag and stutters and seems slightly faster to me. But I'm still surprised at how fast the phone is with all the bloat!

Doe you notice RAM management issues?
Have any of you experienced the aggressive RAM management issues some are reporting? Where any more than four or five apps in the background result in apps being closed out when new applications are started? Some people say it is very frustrating while others don't see any signs of it. The problem can be solved with the edit of a "prop" file but root is required and VZW version cannot get root.
