Can we use 3G Dongle? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Can we connect the 3G Dongle connected via the USB HOST to have Internet?
I found similar threads, but on Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 and Acer Iconia A500:
Asus:

Acer:

Thanks for the reply.

i wouldn't say that ist's impossible, but i think nobody has made an app to make an usb dongle work

Same Q for me.

Can somebody write an application which allows connection Note with 3G Dongle?
Thanks for help.

nice idea, but I can't really see why. Better data prices on a dongle? Custom Cantenna for hard to reach signals?

Where I live, data speeds are incredibly faster in data-only SIMs than the usual SIM even within the same carrier, they seem to be capped
This idea could be goldy if possible

I'm very interested in this too.
If the kernel modules are included, it should be trivial to write a shell script to connect using ppp.

Huawei E1750 for non-3G models

Hi. For those who purchased (or think about purchasing) non-3G models of Notion Ink Adam, and sometimes want to access internet by using 3G from their Adam tablets, they can purchase Huawei E1750 USB 3G modem. I don't know about other modems buy Huawei E1750 works with Android. However, Huawei E176 doesn't work with Android for example. Hope I could help about this
another option is to go wiht the MiFi which will give you 3G via Wifi for up to 5 devices. I moved to this so I can have one data plan for all my devices.

Hey there, just took a look at some websites that dismantled the 3G zoom . I am yet to see a dismantled wifi only zoom, but it would be my guessing that the only difference between the two would be the absence of a minipci express LTE card? will it be possible to install i.e. a GOBI1000 modem? and furthermore, to make honeycomb acess such a modem? aaaa it is nice to dream.....
From what I gather the WIFI versions don't have the PCI connector that the 3G versions do; therefore, I don't think it will be possible to upgrade the WIFI to 3G/4G.

And we don't even know if the TS means American 3G or European 3G. In Europe, 3G goes via a SIM-card (like 4G in USA).
It is not possible without replacing the Xoom [WIFI] Mainboard with that of a Xoom 3G/LTE Mainboard
also here are a few pics of the Wifi tear down http: //imgur [DOT ] com/a/61qp6#7Afe0
the parts such as the pci, and the 3g modules they were not put on the board.

[Q] Streak and voice calls on At&T

Hey there,
I want a tablet I can make and receive cell calls on (not with SKYPE).
It's seems this is possilble with the streak 7 from reading other posts.
But searching did not reveal any posts specific to my needs.
But nowhere on Dell's site does it specify this ability.
Also Dell's site says its for T-mobile.
I have At&T now and would like to stay with them (1.5 yrs left on contract).
Can one of you please confirm this is possible?
I believe I would at least have to unlock my SIM.
What other steps\software would I need.
Thanks in advance!
You can't period

The T-Mobile Streak 7 will also work with AT&T on 3G once unlocked. However, the modem's firmware does not support voice calling atm. So unless T-Mobile releases updated modem firmware that supports this function, it will not happen which is unfortunate. It's possible they will add this function with the honeycomb update, but that remains to be seen.
I've been searching for further information about this, but there is very little information out there. Probably due to the fact that the modem is a fairly new model (EM820U). Maybe someone with experience with baseband reversing can check it out?

You'll need Galaxy Tab for that, though keep in mind that you'll have to use either a wired headset or a speakerphone.

....or bluetooth headset.....BTW, my Euro model works perfect as a phone! No additional flashing was required!
Later............
What are you using for a SIM.
do you know if US AT&T SIM will allow calls.
I would pay the extra to have one device.
Thanks
download and install grooveip from android market; using google voice account you can now make and receive calls... Grooveip is 4 bucks, but worth it.

Tether

I am not sure why you would need to. It has WiFi and 3G onboard... unless you mean the other way round, in which case YES you can by going into settings/wireless and networks

Well, The Verizon model is cheaper, I'm with AT&T and I don't want a 3G plan but I want to be able to tether it to my phone so that I can still get instant upload and all the benefits while I'm away from "Wifi"

Foxfi should work.
I have a Galaxy Cam 2 and Bluetooth is also an option.
Most current models of Samsung phones have the "hacked" tether blocked, even if rooted. I found that the Wifi Tether Router app by Fabio Grasso in the Play store works perfectly and I gave up on waiting for the hack to be fixed. It's not free, but it's only a few $ (and worth it).

[Q] Is their a way to add 4g to the Moto G 2014?

I was just wondering, as EE is giving our area 4g, ATLAST!!!! If it is possible to add a new modem or somthing, without tearing apart the phone.
No.
Maybe Motorola will release a LTE version like the first Moto G.

Yes. Buy a 4G phone and turn on it's WiFi hotspot feature, then connect the Moto G 2nd gen to it
xD No. I was wondering if there was something like the wireless charging adapters

Hypothetically, you could connect a 4G dongle via USB OTG... It would be an absurd thing to do, but hey...

LOL, no. You might need to contact Wayne Enterprises for something bespoke.
I don't think anything like that is yet discovered ,so you will have to either connect to 4G using a adapter or buy another phone that supports 4G
