[Q] Android version for note - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My note came with android version 4.0.3 and I got tuns of problem (from application that collapse and random restart of the device).
Is it probably an androind problem or my device hardware is not good?
What is the most recommended (and stable!) android version for the note?

You get a note with Android 4??? A new one or from ebay or something?
Android 4 isnt officially released for the note, so you must have a leaked or custom rom on you device.
My advice would be:
Go back to Gingerbread (Android 2.3) there are a lot of HowTo's in this forum

your note is sure second handed
At least tempered by someone

[Q] Search for 4.0.3 android for the 8.9 tab

I bought him an orange
And I'm not happy with the operating system Version 3.2
There are more current version?
What about the download status? How do you get it?
And how do I burn the software? With ODIN?
thanks , aviram
The Tegra 2 version, 7310 and 7300, have a couple of ICS ROM's. In order to apply them you will need to root the device, apply a custom recovery, apply a nandroid backup, and then flash the new ROM
There are 3 version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9
A wifi only model 7310
A 3G + wifi model 7300
4G + wifi model -SGH i957
if you don't know which one you have, go
Settings - About Device - Model number

How do you know this? I've searched high and low and I can't find any relevant information regarding the ICS update.

It seems you need to practise using search engines: using "samsung galaxy ics update" in google gives several links including this one.
EDIT: Further digging and we have a Samsung Facebook article.
i use [ROM][ICS][alpha4]Galaxian-Soup[AOSP] GT-7310 [01.26.2012][Major Fixes] and it works fine

about N7000 update to ICS rom

this is right or not?
N7000.... update to rocket rom ICS beta test,,,
is going to I9220?
The reason it shows i9220 is because the ROM was based on the ics leak for the Chinese note (The i9220) which was also working for our n7000.
Also, they have already fixed it on the newer releases of team rocket. It shows GT-N7000 now.

n7000=i9220 is correct or not? if not what's the different between?

How to get update?

I have a curious question.
I have GB 2.3.6 on my note. everybody says that the ics upgrade is on the way however my note says there is no update.
Whats happening if I load up and indonesian stock rom or a rom from the country where the upgrade rolled out.
Or how its working?
I bought this note because samsung say its ics now. I need to test the video capabilities of ics 4.

[Q] Q: Is Custom Firmware Available with Localised Formatting for Phone Numbers??

Hi,
I am currently contemplating whether or not to replace the stock manufacter's firmware with a custom ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
I have recently helped a friend to do the same with his Samsung Galaxy Ace and we successfully installed Cyanogen v7, which is based on Gingerbread 2.3.7.
However, there is a key issue with this firmware that has put me off going down the same route with my own phone. Unfortunately, the OS forces you to display your numbers in the traditional American format (XXX-XXX-XXXX). For me as a UK user, this just isnt' practical and has already caused some recognition issues with other apps on the galaxy ace.
I was wondering if this issue has been fixed in v10 of CM, or I was also looking at installing Helly Bean, if not, is anyone aware of some custom firmware that is friendly to UK users and offers the same features as CM?
Please folks, someone must know something on this subject? Surely all the custom ROMs out there can't be completely America-Centric???!
I appear to have made a mistake upgrading the standard firmware as the 2.3.7 release samsung have given me to upgrade my phone is the worse version of android I've used to date!
I have hellybean and it does not in fact I have never come across a ROM that does that I would personally tell your friend he should try another rom

[Q] Best custom firmware and help with rooting

Hi, sadly I'm a noob and I currently have a samsung galaxy n7000 UK based. I've attached a print screen on the information about my phone.
Previously, I was on the ICS firmware and since the uk version of the JB wasn't released, I updated my phone via Odin to the chinese version of the 4.1.2 JB. Then recently my phone said there was an update for my phone which was in fact the uk version of the JB.
Ever since, my phone is running quite slow and I have formatted it to see if it made a difference. The difference is slight.
Now I've decided I want to install a custom rom as I heard some of them would make my phone perform smoother, faster and also more battery-friendly.
Can someone give me a recommendation on which custom rom I should choose and give me a link that gives me instructions on how to root my specific firmware as I can't find any that mention XXLT3.
Please help?

We don't do best rom threads on xda, it's just a case of try them all til you're happy.
As for rooting, you may have to downgrade your rom to one that has a phillz kernel for it.
