minimalist black theme on touchnooter - Nook Touch Themes and Apps

I have NST rooted and market working. I really like the Minimalist Black theme and the contrast it has, but I noticed the google search widget is mostly invisible using that theme.
Is there a way to edit color/contrast settings of the widgets?
Thanks.

i think use zeamlauncher 2.8.8 is much better than ADW.Launcher because it is very small size. only about 400 KB. maybe it is better for battery life time.

What is your favorite launcher--and why?

I've got a bunch of launchers loaded on my EVO, but my favorite ones for the G-Tab are ADW.launcher and ZEAM (XDA developed launcher).
I like both of them because they're snappy and offer a high degree of customization (e.g. being able to specify the number of columns and rows for both the workspace and the apps).
ADW.launcher seems a bit more customizable since it supports themes, but Zeam is nice because it gives you an app bar on the workspace that you can load up to 8 quick apps.
I still have a soft spot for Launcher Pro. I know that ADW has themes, but LP is fast and does what I need it to do. I have not found a reason to change, yet.
+1 for launcher pro. I liked the themes on ADW but I like the customizable buttons, configurable columns and rows and the widgets with LP.
Perchance I will try Zeam at some point, but in general I am happy with Launcher Pro.

zeam cause its lightweight.
Launcher Pro here too.
I'm still playing with Sweeter Home. I like to completely customize the screen layouts. It isn't flawless in operation, but it does provide me lots of time to fidget.
LauncherPro. I like the features and being able to save/load my screen layout/setup is fantastic after flashing ROMs and reinstalling apps.
I prefer GDE but can't get it to work properly (menu's pop up flaky) on the GTab so I'm using LauncherPro.
Launcher pro. Light weight and fast.
Allways been a fan of launcher pro on my android devices it just works how i like
Do any of the themes allow more than sixteen icons per page? There is a LOT of space that more icons could go in.
Is this one of those "phone & portrait" os design constraints?
i'm an ADW fan on my Droid 1 and i tried it on my gtab but i found zeam to be better. its faster and smoother, more lightweight, and actually resizes wallpaper properly. i love adw's themes but i rather go with speed than with custom icons. also love zeam's dock, has tons of space for icons. only thing i don't like about it is that you can't save your configuration.
launcher pro i never liked. probably cuz i can get most of that stuff for free on other launchers. gotta pay to resize a widget? cmon now. also live wallpaper is really sluggish for some reason on launcher pro. keeps stuttering when i turn on the screen, no matter what live wallpaper i try.

Same here. Zeam Launcher + MultiPicture Livewallpaper.
thats really cool! The light effects of that background are live?
I like gde but no icons with all the the themes. But... +10 on launcher pro

Iam I weird for not running a launcher? I always feel like they slow the system down a bit. I might have to start because all these cool looking home screens are making me jealous!
Launcher Pro... but I think I might try zeam after reading this thread.
I prefer Tap n' Tap for my launcher... OK, who am I kidding
Actually, I use Launcher Pro as well, but I also noticed the live wallpaper stuttering and always thought it was because every app seemed to want to reload itself upon wakeup. However, with all of the love out here for Zeam, I'm going to have to give that a try as well!
has anyone tried the go-launcher?
SInce there are several launchers around I'm curious what the pro's and con's are for each... I think tis thread is going a long way to that. Maybe once we managed to get all the info together we could start making a sticky with pros/cons for each launcher...
Just a thought

Which weather clock widget for the NC?

Tried MIUI but spacing and fonts looked funky. Would prefer something free that will display properly on my rooted NC.
I like Simi Clock a lot...free and customizable, displays well
I have to give my vote to SimiClock as well. Looks great and has a ton of options.

Fancy Widget

I personally like Palmary Weather a lot, and its widget doesn't have a clock, so I stopped using Beautiful Widgets and use Palmary and Simi. Looks pretty nice.

ADW LauncherEX and Honeycomb V4

Hi,
I'm hanging up my life of lurking on XDA to give you all a tip. While the default Honeycomb launcher is great, ADWlauncherEX is amazing! With the 1100 overclock, I've never seen smoother or faster navigation, including stock, Eclair or Nookie Froyo. The only problem is that the icons are really small, and when you use LCD Density to set it to anything other than 140, you loose the nifty Honeycomb status bar softkeys To overcome this, go into ADW icon settings and up the icon size to around 150, than enable fancy backgrounds. This make the icons the "right size." The only downside to using ADW on Honeycomb is that you lose the awesome new UI for adding widgets, and wallpaper seems to act a little funny. Trust me though, this is golden, it really makes Honeycomb on EMMC my favorite nook configuration yet!
PS: Leave any other tips/tricks about ADW on Honeycomb you find.

[Q] best clock to use with stock xoom launcher?

hey guys.
on my Evo I always used and was very happy with Clockr Evolution. Now I downloaded Clockr from the market and even the biggest font size seems too small. the default launcher doesn't let you stretch the widget. I tried with launcherproplus and the widget stretches, but the words stay the same size.
the other clock I like is TypoClock, but i'm also running into the same situation. not big enough.
what clock are you guys using? I like either big numbers or words, so either Clockr or TypoClock style....
anything you can recommend? thanks!
I use beautiful widgets, with the 4x3 superclock for tablets. But I aso use ADW EX instead of the stock launcher for widget resizing
edit: accidental double post
I use Launcher Pro and the stock clock with Clockr underneath and it looks nice

Best Launcher for Nook STR?

Hello there,
what is the best launcher for the nook?
I see that Go Launcher is installed automatically with touchnooter, why that one and not another one?
What do you use, why and how did you configured it?
I'm afraid of all the flashes that i saw on some youtube videos...
I like adw launcher since it lets me set a "white" background for my minimalist black adw icon pack.
You can also change the dockbar background to a pure black by installing the honeycomb theme for adw and selecting.that theme from the adw themes in ADWSettings.

Could you please give us your icon pack? Is it possible in ADW Launcher to set to black the text under the icons (in the app drawer)?
With ADW Launcher you mean the free one or the EX version?
I used to use ADW Launcher for its layout and the "Colors" wallpaper from the Market to add a white background. But recently my new favorite is Relaunch. It's a launcher+file browser made specifically for the nook. It doesn't do widgets, but it has a lot of other features I find useful, such as battery display, wireless toggle, task killer, search, recent files, etc. I'm not a fan of the nook Library (vs. my old Sony reader), so I decided to organize my books in folders with Calibre and use Relaunch both to start apps and open books.
seems like relaunch is great, i should consider that instead of standard launchers

Do you mind posting a link to it? I did a quick search and couldn't find it.
I can't post links yet (I'm a noob -- I hate myself! ), but you can search Google for "Relaunch nook" and follow the link from the nookDevs result.
One handy thing it can do that I haven't seen any other launcher do is map itself to the nook's "Home" button on the Quicknav. Handy for 1.1.0 since NookTouchTools isn't working yet.
Thanks, from what I've played around with so far, this is my favorite launcher yet.
Here is the link
but i don't like the ui
for now i still waiting XorZone's create the NookTouch launcher
so i keep using the go launcher and create my own theme
widget: minimalist text
Relaunch's UI is rather spartan, yes. I think it's an either love-it-or-hate-it sort of program.

From the market it seems that it needs Android 2.2 or better, did you have any trouble using it on Nook's 2.1?

Any hint on how to find a 2.1 compatible version?
I found a nice one! ADW Launcher (yes, we know) but... add on the Minimalist Black theme from the Market. Black apps and labels on white. This is perfect for the nook screen and with some settings tweaking, you can make all apps fit in one screen. If you want, download "Colors" to use a pure white background for the desktop.
I also found that File Expert is a decent file manager and its default theme is white. The fonts are a little washed out, though, so I tweaked them a bit and it's a nice black-on-white. Most other file managers I've found use annoying graphical backgrounds.
Just did that yesterday installing also a copy of minimalistic text 2.6.2 that I had on a eclair defy, it suits eink perfectly.

Hehe, I was wondering when that combo would show up again.
I was advertising for it back when I first got my NST but nobody seemed to care.
Tho I no longer use it, imho it's the best launcher setup for the NST available atm
Btw, you forgot to mention the great icon pack that comes with it!
