SGM battery - 1500mAh - real?? - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Bought a spare battery for my mini and it says 1500mAh as opposed to 1200mAh on stock battery.
Is this likely to be real and if so how much will it improve battery life (if at all)?
Is there a way I can test it to see how many mAh it is?
FYI it works in mini fine and good health battery monitor says...

Since you already bought it, you are the one to tell us about the autonomy
Concerning the test, I don't know about that...
PS: I almost bought one like that for me, probably the same manufacturer (China)

I bought mine on amazon for about £1.45 and £0.99 postage mostly for watching movies next week on a loooong trip so I can switch battery. I bought the battery thinking it was standard to be honest so i wasn't expecting anything special
I will update if I notice any significant difference. Perhaps it will have the placebo effect? Hahahaha

Now came to my mind: don't you need to calibrate the battery on every switch? Since the battery charge/discharge is controlled by software. And the extra 300mAh is theoreticaly "invisible"...

The 1250 is strained in it's shell so i doubt it.
It woldn't do much, a switch to CM7.2.0 RC1 Mebitek will do more if you are not running it.

1500mah batteries, anyone tested them already?

I found some 1500mah batteries on ebay. They are dirt cheap and even have free shipping. Sounds to good to be true so anyone tested one of these batteries already?
since i cant post links look on ebay for: Legend 1500mah
The legend only came out a month or so ago, and you really believe that there are already replacement batteries with a higher capacity on the market?
If you're lucky they'll only be of inferior capacity. If you're not so lucky you might end up with a destroyed phone, or worse like severe body burns from an exploding piece of crap battery made by a Chinese company that couldn't give a damn.
Protect your phone by not buying one. Protect other consumers by not buying one, thus reducing the amount of counterfeit product on the market. Protect yourself from bodily harm by not buying one...

Although I praise your concerns about my personal safety that wasn't the question. I know they are dirt cheap and I know what the risks of faulty batteries are. But you can't judge everything on gut feeling so that's why I'm asking if anyone had experience with them. If they are selling them people must be buying them.
Sadly people buying a product doesn't actually say much about it's build quality but I'll not bother you further with that
If someone has a good report on those batteries I'd also be interested in reading it. But are people allowed to browse the net from the Intensive Care unit? (only kidding)
Sent from my HTC Legend using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
wow, sounds very ominous, beware the evil battery
I would be interested to know if these are a scam or not.
Does anyone offer a larger capacity battery for the Legend yet? (Or is it likely they will?)
for alot of phones there are large capacity batteries how ever for the legend its harder i guess. Mostly the higher capacity batteries are slightly bigger but the legend design doesnt allow any room for that. So it has to be a battery with exactly the same dimensions.

Well if you look all over eBay (sorry can't post link) there are 1500mAh battery's widely available from Hong Kong and the likes!
But for €6, i dunno will it even work!
Why do you want others to "test" these batteries for you?
Why not buy one yourself - test it - then let us know what they are like?

Haha!
Nice!
my nkia e71 battery is virtually the same size, so there is no reason why there can't be a good quality 1500 at some point
nokia e71's screen is about half the size, not a touchscreen, inferior technology to the legend's, far fewer apps so much less usage etc etc etc
I'm not comparing the phone, only the battery.
but the battery is only as good as the power requirements determined by the phone's components and applications. I'm sure if you stuck the legend's battery into an old brick it would also last ages, but that's largely because it's not being drained by anything

He is saying the battery has the about the same physical dimensions and packs 1500mAh, so it is possible to make a good quality battery with these specs.
Got it, but I meant the current battery is probably just as good quality wise, but more juice is being sucked and at a faster rate.
Here's another way of putting it, do you know of any amoled touchscreen smartphone that runs many apps, WiFi, gps etc etc and lasts several days of regular use?
ive just ordered one 1500mAh HIGH CAPACITY BATTERY FOR HTC LEGEND its on ebay but its a uk company called ecell, ive had stuff of them before and the quality always seems good, ill post back when ive got it and tested

Any results yet =)?
I have exactly the same one in mine Legend.
To be honest....it is ****.
Some e-mailing, browsing, a hour of music listening and BOOM...it's drained.
Beware.
I honestly think original battery is better.

That's completely irrelevant. The Legend packs a 1300mAh battery, the Nokia E71 apparently has a 1500mAh battery with the same dimensions.
All he's saying is that it's possible to make a trustworthy 1500mAh battery that would fit the HTC Legend. No one's comparing battery life, we're comparing battery capacity. I don't see how the draining rate of the battery is relevant. A 1500 mAh battery has 15% more capacity than a 1300mAh battery and thus has 15% longer battery life. What's not to understand about this?
Whatever...

Anker 1400 mAh Battery for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830

Today I received my third parcel with ebay. At this time, from the United States. Anker ™ NEW Battery for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Now it costs $ 36 (I was lucky - I bought it for $ 9, and the next day the price has changed). The stated capacity 1400 mAh, yet can not say anything, the first day of use. The size is ideal. I`m read only good reviews about the Anker`s batterys. Photos:
any reviews pls................
is it truly give much effect on batttery life? 1400mah, consider the capacity of original battery..
yeah i am also waiting for a review
Waiting for the review....I have an external Anker 5600mah battery and they do make high quality products, although I don't predict a huge jump in battery life.

Its not just the capacity, its the quality of cells used.
Can't see it making that much difference though, they both should be high quality.
Sent from my GALAXY Ace.
After ten days of use I can say that the battery holds a charge as the new original battery and even a little more. Thus the stated capacity of the battery is specified correctly. While charging, the battery does not overheat.

Yeah, this is why I'm asking around so much. On the page it has a good review and also on eBay. Haven't seen anyone here on XDA personally use it so I thought I'd ask. I'm about to buy it though so I'm asking if anyone else has an opinion about it.

The best slim battery. Ever.

Let's say there are two types of removable phone batteries:
1.SLIM
These are the batteries which just fit straight into the phone without a bigger back cover needed, just like nature (the manufacturers) intended.
They can be extended, and offer a greater capacity, but their physical size remains the same.
then there's...
2. CHUNKY
The bigger batteries which offer a much greater potential capacity but also need a bigger back cover. They make you look at your phone and think "does this make my phone look fat?".
Of course, people are generally accepting of plus sizes nowadays, but slimmer is more practical, in the sense of a phone, right?
Anyway *clears throat*, I bought one of each of these, both being extended.
Firstly, I bought a chunky one, 3500MaH. I'm not sure if it's the phone, or the fact that the battery was el cheapo ($6 AUD), but it seemed liked the stock battery with nothing but an extra weight attached
Then, I purchased a slim one, the infamous gold '2430' MaH battery.
I wouldn't be surprised it was actually 1430 MaH, for it was worse than stock (1500MaH).
The point of this thread is to ask you which of the SLIM extended batteries (NO CHUNKY, ONLY SLIM) is the best you have ever used?
And may you also provide a price / link?
Buy a stock battery and also get your phone checked at lg service center I tried almost all batteries and all roms the battery drain and stand by time was worse...went lg service center they changed mother board it was destroyed by difference in voltage due to batteries and some roms now I have more than 2 days battery...no more flashing and no more experimenting with my phone now I love my phones exceptional battery...I used to think people lie when they say 2 day battery n all...trust me this phone has good battery just get it checked at lg service center also they told me to use stock charger only

how much they changed your motherboard?? trough warranty?? :fingers-crossed:
I would normally always go stock, its safer. even for the little extra money, your getting something sure to work and be safe and tested well.
I'm currently using / testing Battpit Battery you can buy on Amazon.co.uk after the 3rd charge cycle it tested and averaged out to 1740mAh or so, and under heavy use it turned out about 10 hours on almost constant use. i was very impressed.
i'm currently still doing my standby minimum use test for the past couple days and its still going.
heres a link for the battery i bought
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battpit-tra...8G/ref=sr_1_93?ie=UTF8&qid=1354948855&sr=8-93
so far my tests have found it to be worth the buy. the capacity and charge have been as labeled, and the battery performance so far is going well.

I've ordered a 1800 mAh from ebay. Will report later on the differences with stock battery. Be sure to always charge your phone completely and only charge when battery drops bellow 20% or so, this will lead to a better condition of the battery.
Bought a "gold 2430mAh" battery.
I will edit my post in 2 days to do a feedback
Remember to do a calibration of the batterie to increase performances : Here is the app
EDIT : Yep, it tooks me 2 yearsq to do the tests... Seriously, thoses "gold" battery are totally fake. The battery did'nt handle 2 charges and wasn't better than the original battery.
As I wrote in the other battery thread...stock battery format with better Li-Ion technology, or Li-Pol could give maximum of 1800 mAh. This is a realistic number, I recently bought a Mugen extended battery and it seems to have given 1700 mAh. But all these golden batteries...:cyclops:

Battery usage
Hey there!
Ive tried every Rom on this forum, (almost ) but all gave me the same battery issue. (Only the 20s based roms where pretty Good!) Ive found not any ICS rom compatible with 3G and a good battery life. Tobad, but for me its a fact. The P990 is not designed for using with 3G, just drains the battery in les then 3 ours!
I also tried a lot of baseband and Ril versions, there where a few who does made a difference, but not that big.
Right now I using the 20s baseband. just because of my experience in the past.
For me the big difference is how you configure your processor. Which schedular and which governor. I tried a lot of combination, right now Im using schedular conservative with the ZEN governor, this combination gives me a really good battery usage. (4% drain in 8 ours @1200 Mhz @ night @ wifi )
Ive disabled 3G on my phone, only 2G. tobad, but only way to have a good battery life.
I also tried new batteries, the Big one 3500 Mah, not any improvements, the 1950 andida battery is a good one. but they all are not worth the money compared with the less battery usage improvements,
Hope this helps a little in the search for a bettery battery life with our phone.
Regards,
WyCkson

Hi,
just want to say that I have a good expirience With a PEAK Performance 3300mAh, cost ~ 14€ with cover. Now can I use it ~ 2days.
Sometimes the phones turns into a pocket heater that kills every battery, espesially if there are many apk's installed (around 120 up, TB-List)
I Had this problem with every ROM, and also with Stock battery and a new device.

1800 mAh Battery for i9070

While usinge my Galaxy S i9000 for two years now i noticed sometimes the battery lasts (ordinary daily usage presumed) only arround 12 hours, so i tried to find a battery with a higher capacity.
The battery shipped by Samsung only had 1500mAh and after a while you could buy 1800mAh batteries with the same dimensions (i got some from Polarcell made in Germany)
1800mAh means you got a 20% higher capacity IMHO this means 20% longer time to use until charging
relating to the presumed 12hours of lifetime this means 2.4hours this is ok if you charge the phone over night and sleep 8 hours
Coming to the 9070 now!!!
i tried to find some bigger batteries for the advanced. i found some 1650mAh batteries, but i first tried to push my old battery in my new phone .
As you can see on the attached file 1 its only 1mm difference between the two batteries and so the battery didnt fit into the phone. But ive got more than just 1 battery.
So i removed the piece of plastic at the bottom of the battery and the foil around it and voila:
With a little pressure i pushed the battery into the phone
this is just a tip for anyone who needs 20% more capacity and doesnt find such a big battery
Thats dangerous mate..
LOL, I tried it with my i9003 battery and had the same problem like you, I tried to force it but I think it may damage the plastic

no isnt ... below the plastic part is a complete, i think its aluminium body that contains the battery ... the first openig without knowing about what its contains was dangerous...
but pushing the battery into the phone isnt
edit: I have to say below my plastic hull is a full aluminum body ... if you have more than one battery you can try it ... i think every battery uses this ... mom i try an original samsumg
edit2: yeah both batteries contain a smaller aluminium battery i removed the body of my original i9000 and i9070 batteries ...

Hello mate. I use Mugen Power 3500mAh battery for my I9070. I am very satisfied with it. I mostly use my phone for web browsing , ROM installing and occasional gaming. With the sammy's battery(1500mAh) it barely lasts 18 hours on heavy use.
But with this new battery it lasts well over a day(atleast 30-32 hours) on heavy use. I use cocore kernel and set the charging voltage to 600mA, default. Anything above this will overheat your phone. Also I lowered the usb charging to 400mA.
Overall I am satisfied with this battery.
Thank you for your answer. I believe that your battery is of higher capacity since it's really bigger, but problem is the battery I'm talking about is of SAME volume as original 1500mAh. I'm wondering how have they achieved that (if they did at all), maybe they removed some security parts in order to put more li-ion compound

I think below part of the sammy's 1500mAh battery is made of hard plastic and can be cut and shrinked without affecting the usability.
So the 1800/2450 mAh extended batteries use that space and obtain better capacity without compromising on safety. Anyway good luck.

I've been using the Polarcell battery for about 2-3 months and batterylife is very good, 3g, wifi, pdf, call, pics, whatzapp, fb usage all day long Yeah, it depends what rom and kernel, but in general it is very good (used on HarshJelly and CarbonKitKat)

Battery replacment with higher capacity

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with using third party batteries for the N950. Specifically batteries with extended capacity. I have seen a handful of these batteries which say they have a 3600mah capacity over the stock battery capacity of 3300mah. They also say that they are Li-Po over the stock Li-Ion.
I cant post the link due to XDA rules but there are batteries available on Amazon under the title :
Galaxy Note 8 Battery ZURUN 3600mAh Li-Polymer Battery
The battery appears to have good ratings and would be a fitting upgrade for a decayed battery. I'm just asking if anybody with experience would recommend these batteries, are they real(in terms of spec), would the higher capacity effect the device negatively? And most importantly are they safe?
Any help would be appreciated!

Although I have no experience with batteries for the Note 8 as of yet, but from previous experience, I would recommend only official batteries. Even if these non official batteries are the correct mah, they will not have the same amount of cycles, so you will probably go through 2 or 3 of these batteries for the life of the official one.

I have had my Note 8 since the day it came out and I'm still using the same battery and I still get well over 8 hours of usage before I need to recharge it. I only charge it to 90% and I never let it discharge fully it's usually back on the charger whenever it gets near 20%. A friend of mine decided to put a 4,000 mah battery in his Note 8 only to find out that it wouldn't charge to 4,000 and it was dying much much faster than the original battery and it took even longer for it to charge back up so I wouldn't recommend getting aftermarket parts for it.

I have had my Note 8 since the day it came out and I'm still using the same battery and I still get well over 8 hours of usage before I need to recharge it. I only charge it to 90% and I never let it discharge fully it's usually back on the charger whenever it gets near 20%. Huh, as for my device, I got it recently pre owned however the previous owner didn't take anywhere near as much care of my device as it seems your taking care of yours. So the battery capacity is pretty decayed and I've found it hard to get a healthy OEM battery online.
With my current new but unhealthy battery I wouldn't be able to protect it as I would like to by using the charging ranges you do. Tho I do really want to!
So I was thinking a new third party battery could be better than a 'new' oem. But again just another gamble it seems haha.
Thanks a lot for your advice!

Ifixit, who are reputable imo, have a link for the official battery . I would advise skipping Amazon/Ebay for it. Although it is €25, it is worth it. (They also sell all the tools you will need for replacing it and all the steps!
